My husband and I had a set appointment. When we arrived they were very busy but went ahead and sat us. We waited nearly 30 minutes for our scheduled appointment. Once my girl ran the water and placed my feet in the tub she left me sitting there to go eat. I sat there for at least 15 minutes until I called the manager over. Not very professional of an environment and their back room is filthy along with the chair they placed me in. Stay away!!!
Yesterday was first and last visit to Urban Nail Bar.(1) 15 minutes before my scheduled appointment, the receptionist called to push my appointment back an hour as they were running behind.(2) Shortly after my appointment began, a disgruntled customer came in to get her nails fixed. Her initial appointment was a few days prior and the crystals on her nails were already coming off. There was quite a bit of back and forth because there were only two techs and both had other customers (one of which was me). The other tech finished with her client and started working on the disgruntled customer’s nails. That was short-lived and my tech stopped working on mu nails and swapped spots with her…(3) My new nail tech was excited to see a coworker come in to help since they were short staffed… this coworker was actually coming in to retrieve her tech license as she was moving to another shop.(4) During my service with the new tech the receptionist came over to let her know that one of her customers from a few days prior needed to come in to have 3 nails fixed…(5) Since it was my first visit, I selected a fairly simple design, 3 squiggly lines but the nail tech struggled quite a bit and also had a hard time with shaping. The fee for this design was $20. The manager *graciously* discounted it from $30 since they switched techs mid service.Overall, I would not recommend Urban Nail Bar.
They are a bit short staffed due to recovering from Covid, and aside from a small wait they did a wonderful job on my nails. My technicians name was Kathy and she was absolutely phenomenal! I got the most adorable strawberry nails and she knew exactly what I wanted. It seems like they keep up with all of the latest nail trends which is something that is super important to me in a nail salon. This will absolutely be my new regular place and I can’t wait to come back!
Wish I could give this place ZERO stars. They didn’t listen to me when I asked for acrylic. 3 people told me dip, which came out extremely chunky. I went back to get them fixed and they still messed up. When they asked me how I felt about it I said I was frustrated. The manager “Kathy” told me to get out and never come back. I told her I was frustrated because they didn’t listen to me. Even at the end when I said I wanted gel they put on the other polish and I said I asked for gel. Maybe you should listen to your customers and not SCREAM at them when you ask for their feedback.Legit left crying on the way home when I was supposed to be getting my nails done for 30th birthday. What a JOKE, just listen to what your customers ask.Run away from this place!!
I was a walk-in for dip powder and they were accurate on the wait time and were friendly and very professional.
They say walk-ins are welcomed but the lady comes back initially said 30min wait then again I had to ask her she says 15min then after more than an hour when I asked again she did not bother to answer and said people have appointments already. “You could’ve told me that at the beginning I would’ve came back next day but No U waisted my time and Ignored me the whole time” Not sure with this attitude and poor customer they will last any longer.. I used to like this place but not anymore.
I had two different nail technicians working on my feet. There was a switch right before polishing without explanation. My foot massage was not a massage at all more like rubbing the lotion into feet over and over again. Once the polish was complete I waited for my daughter to get finished and then I noticed that part of the side of my big toe was not completely polished. I bought it to the technicians attention and she tried to correct it and it looked better but not to what Im accustomed to. My daughters nails had some smudged lines and a few crooked ones. The arms of the massage chairs could also use some attention, Im not sure if the spots are due to some chemicals from manicures splashing on them or they hadnt been cleaned. The staff was nice and friendly but I dont feel like the$70 I spent on my feet was worth the quality of service I received.
I was suppose to get a manicure and pedicure but ended up only getting a pedicure. They forgot all about my manicure until the last minute. This is usually a great place but getting very unprofessional.
Urban nail bar did such a great job on my nails! It definitely took them over an hour, but personally I see that as taking their time to make sure they look beautiful when theyre done. It was so worth it! I really appreciated their attention to the details and not rushing just to get to the next person. That being said, even when making an appointment doesnt necessarily mean they will get you in at that time since there may be people they are focusing on still that came in before you. For me the appointment took a little over 2 hours from when I got there for our appointment to when I was walking out the door. Other than that it was wonderful and I would definitely recommend this place because they take their time and are very knowledgeable. Thank you Kathy for making sure I liked my nails and that they turned out so wonderful!
I absolutely love this place! I have been going here for almost two years, and each time is better than the last! Mikey, the salon’s manager, is very attentive and ALWAYS makes me feel valued! I love you Mikey! 🤗 Kim is the absolute best on pedicures, and my service is always top notch! It’s a clean and friendly atmosphere and I never hesitate to make an appointment. No matter how crowded, they always get me in! If you’re looking to find a new nail shop in the downtown Dallas area, don’t hesitate! THIS IS THE PLACE!!!
I found this business with a Google search. I decided to patronize with high expectations given some of the photos and Downtown location. I was very specific about what I wanted and presented a photo from their reviews for reference. I was met with an unprofessional and in my opinion, hostile reception, asked, “Gel or dipping powder.”I replied, “Whatever you think is best and will achieve this look.” They’re the experts, not me.When I saw a nail shape contrary to what I specified taken out, I told the manicurist, Kathy, though the picture I showed had that nail shape, I wanted something different. She deadpanned, “I know.”How was I supposed to know based on what I was seeing and also based on the fact that miscommunication has resulted in bad nail experiences before.Anyway, it took a long time, well over an hour to complete my appointment but Kathy did a fantastic job.Two weeks later, I came back for something new. I had an appointment but it was quite busy when I walked in so I was seen past my appointed time.Kathy approached me, asked what I wanted, and I told her I had an appointment and—“With who?!” she cut me off.I didn’t know. When I called to make the appointment I was told “okay, okay” and rushed off the phone.Kathy clipped my extended nails to start the process of removing the previous gel manicure. She applied cotton and acetone and foil to loosen the product—to every nail except my thumb (no foil). She was distracted by a phone call in which she and the other person were yelling at each other and hanging up on each other. She went to do someone else’s nails. When she came back to me, she asked about the foil (with an attitude) and I had to tell her she had neglected it.Someone other than Kathy did my nails which disappointed me but she was working on someone else, so no big deal. The gentlemen who did my nails was obviously rushing from the beginning. He finished removing the old gel. And was not gentle buffing my nails. I could feel him getting a little too deep into my nail beds more than once and had to tell him. He then wanted to jump right into applying the false nails without clipping my natural nails, without tending to my cuticles. Kathy had done so at my last appointment and it doesn’t take a genius to realize it makes your manicure look better. But it does take someone engaged in your appointment and not someone already trying to rush you along. He did what I asked and started the rest of the process. I’m not happy with the final product because I asked him if I needed to wash my hands before the gel would be applied and he said no and I feel this resulted in a bumpy finish on the final product. He also went back and forth between me and another customer with the same nail buffer which is unsanitary to me, seeing as my fingers bled when he was done because he’d clearly broken my skin.Basically some of the staff is rude, inattentive, quality product is hit or miss and I won’t be going back.
A very relaxing experience resulting in the cutest nail set I have ever had! Kathy was my tech and took her time making sure my nails were perfect end the design was the same as the photo I provided. All in all a great appointment!
Front desk check in didn’t acknowledge us, mostly commanded us around. Service for the pedicures was great, very sweet women attended us. My main reservation on this salon was cleanliness. The entire salon could use a deep clean, especially being a higher end establishment given their prices and location downtown.
Super sweet, knowledgeable ladies doing beautiful work on nails. Thank you so much, I will come again
10 stars!! I travel 70 miles to get my nails done by them! Theresa and Cami were great!!
Stanley is amazing! Gave me exactly what I wanted and great customer service! Will definitely be back for him!
I was visiting from Cali and decided to get my nails done cos it was close to the hotel I was staying at. Staff was nice but I am disappointed in fact that my dipping powder didn’t last. The pic of my nails is barely 2 weeks in and look how much space already . I also had my lashes done by this sweet girl but a lot fell off within the first week. I think for $150 I should get better lashes. Did I mention the eyebrow tinting that she did for me only lasted a few hours? I returned the next day to have it redone but it was a good as applying eye brow pencil on my own and it didn’t last past 24 hrs. For the money spent I think it was overpriced and service not built to last.
Always always so happy with my nails. I get pedicures and dip powder on my finger nails and they do beautiful work that lasts!! They are also so friendly and accommodating and kind. Love to everyone at urban nail bar
Best pedicure I have ever had in my life!!!!! Im picky and they were both extremely patient and accommodating!!!
My experience could not have been better! I traveled from Baton Rouge, LA to Dallas for a wedding & didn’t have time to get my nails done before I left home & I’m so glad I didn’t! I requested a gel manicure & pedicure. Sam started my manicure & Justin did my polish & designs. Cathy did my pedicure. All of them were efficient and attentive. There was also a receptionist who came by & asked if I would like anything to drink. The building itself was immaculate with top of the line decor and equipment. There’s even a check-in kiosk. Whenever I come back to Dallas, I will be coming back to the Urban Nail Bar;-)
Came here with my daughter today. We both got mani pedis. My gel nails look alright (not perfect, lines are uneven and the gel is really thick in some places and see through thin in others) but the color is pretty. I’m fairly disappointed with the French Tips on my toes. It’s very messy. My daughters acrylics looked a little messy too and the tech left an abrasion on her finger from the grinding tool. Spent over $250. I’d hoped for a little better quality work at that price point. I will say the place is very clean and everyone was friendly
I walked in at 3pm and said I just wanted to get my old dip nails removed and nothing else done. The guy asked for me to come back at 7pm. I walked out and never coming back
This is a five star quality shop. Clean and intentional about service, quality, and the “modern nail shop experience”. (Wine, frozen drink, and water options in a funky designed up to date shop. My biggest gripe as a Black woman who loves to get her nails done is many shops are rude. Not here customer service matters. Designs are a1. This is a lot more muted and sleek than my usual flashy style. However the manager Kathy revamped my set, freestyles this look, and was pleasant and gave great service. The prices here are reflective of this downtown con isn’t location. But you get what you pay for.
Very professional very clean and they do not rush! Great salon
Great nail salon! Lovely customer service. I will be back for sure
Very nice. I got a mani and pedi. I was in and out within 90 m8nutes, including a brief wait time. Two persons worked on my hands and toes at the same time. One on hands and one on toes. Thats an efficient way of getting customers in and out quickly and satisfied with the amount of time spent in a nail salon. This was a Thursday early evening. There was sort of a crowd, but not too crowded. Of course, the salon is spacious. They were really friendly and did a fantastic job on both sets of nails.
Brought my bestie with me to get a pedicure and it was very worth it. She’s nearing her due date so I did want her to get the best treatment. Hannah took care of me, while TJ attended to my bestie. Hannah didn’t skip a beat! By far best service I have had in a long time. TJ seemed a little new but made sure to spend some extra time on my besties feet. She was truly grateful.
Cammie was fabulous and super relaxing getting a pedicure from her. Also, one of the best eyebrow waxes I’ve got at a nail salon.
This is what my dip powder service looks like in less than a week. It should last 2-3 weeks.I had them done prior to going out of town for 2 weeks and not even a week in they look like this. I contacted them to try and get my money back to correct the situation since I will have to get them fixed here. They refused and instead offered me a free service and a gift card. That’s fine but A. I still have to shell out more money to correct their mistake and get them redone here. B. Why would I want to go back after this experience? There are many other nail places in Dallas. Avoid.
First time here and my expectations were exceeded. Based on location I imagined they would try the get me in-and-out the door asap. However, TIFFANY was very patient and detailed oriented. Her work is exactly what I’ve been looking for. I also saw other really talented nail techs at this salon. They keep up with current trends but can also recreate classic. I am beyond pleased with my visit today.
Great service all around. I usually only go to get my eyebrows waxed and decided to do a mani and pedi this time. Jen really transformed my toes and was delicate and laid great attention to detail. I would highly recommend.
Jen did a great job on my “Metro Pedicure” and was very nice to talk to. 😊 I really appreciated her friendliness and attention to detail.
First place I ever went to, and Im going to start coming back again. Great massages with pedicures and manicures, and they offer body massages as well. Good prices and a friendly staff.
Currently living downtown & was just tired of driving 20mins to get my nails done (don’t judge me) so I found Urban Nail! To my surprise, they turned out to be only a 6min walk (jumps for joy) ! Found a nail tech on their Instagram page, Teresa, and so glad I did! She did a phenomenal job ! Everything from the color, to shape & time it took was perfect! Urban Nails has definitely found a new client!’
Kathy did my nails and she did a great job! I also got my feet done by Keke, OMG she was great did my feet some justice (will only let her do my pedis from here on out) #babysoftfeet
I love my nails so many compliments from men and women.
They are so sweet and accommodating. Definitely just gained a life long member :)
Nails barely lasted 5 days on top of the fact that the guy put on the wrong color despite me pointing out like 5 times that it doesn’t look like what I asked for and he told me it was and to just wait until the end and it literally wasn’t what I asked for and by that point I didn’t have time to get them re done.
Always so busy, so hard to want to return. But they do a pretty good job. Nails broke 2 times in a week, they fixed for free
I had the best experience here. The pedicure service was everything.
This place is very good. Good service and the workers are very nice. My nails came out really good. I will come back here 5/5
Loved it had my first pedicure...pure awesomeness !!!!
Didnt get helped at all was walked past multiple times not even acknowledged wound up walking out.
I love this place! Kathy is so awesome, I like my nails to look very natural even with designs. She never disappoint me. Everytime she does my nails lots of people copy her exact designs from my nails. This place is clean, professional, relaxing and very welcoming! They have lots of styles and designs it’s literally nothing they can’t do. They can speak and understand English very well.
Sooo I have booked appts TWICE for services that cost OVER $100. Both times I arrived no one was available to take care of the service I booked. I drove 15 minutes twice to be told to wait 20 minutes for service. Time is definitely money so if you have time to waste book an appt. Better to just walk in and wait. BUT I will not deny, they do great nails just very unprofessional.
Kim was amazing for my pedicure! I will definitely be back to see her!
The floors were so dirty. I did dip on my nails. She did a horrible job. They were way too thick and uneven. They were not shaped well, and when I asked her if she could fix them, she made it seem like it was a big deal. There are many other much better places than here for a similar or cheaper price.
Vicky & her team handled fixing my nails, very professionally.
They should have 5 stars not 4.1! Don Did a beautiful job on my nails and Sarah did an amazing job on my toes leaving my feet feeling flawless. They consistently checked in with me to make sure I was happy with my nails and gave me exactly what I asked for. Everyone was very nice and welcoming.
The staff is never on time even if I make an appointment, and then I get poor quality nails for an outrageous price! None of the workers speak English, even the owner and front desk person. Makes it very hard to communicate.
Went here yesterday and got a mani/pedi. I had kinda noticed my top coat on my dip set was bumpy and not shiny and then my big toe was a little chipped even though it was gel but I didn’t have time to stay longer, I decided to come in today to see if they would fix it and they did and it was super quick. Both my tech’s were great and understanding. Cammy was wonderful and is amazing at shaping nails! I’ll be back. Great staff❤️
I was visiting from Arizona and needed to get a simple fill and pedicure. My pedicure was great but my fill was awful. It’s only been two days and every nail on my right hand has chipping gel paint.
Grateful for this place! Theyre one of the best salons in town.
What an awesome place!! I saw Rin today for a full set and I am in love!! He was so nice and he did some great work! If I lived in Dallas, I would be a regular :)
This place is so nice and clean. I didn’t get her name but the lady who did my nails was super detailed and took her time to make my nails look perfect. I’m in love with them!
I loveddddd this place !!’ Jessica did an amazing job on my full set dip nails with lavender tips !!!! And hannah did such a great job with my French pedicure ! The best I’ve had in a while !!!! Go check them out !!
I got a gel mani, a light purple and you could see thru the color after 3 shades and he tried to put top coat and i said no. Absolutely not. Thats not acceptable and I wasn’t gonna pay for see thru nails. So he “attempted” to take color off to put a slightly darker purple on and gonna half way leave the other color and was going to polish over top it. It was laziness. I told him to stop and i was done. Didn’t even offer another tech just cleaned up and walked away. Don’t waste your money.
I have been going to this salon for over TWO years and I will not go anywhere else. I have probably had everyone who works there do my nails at one point and they are all amazing. I am always happy with my results! Teresa is my favorite and she does my amazing eyelash extensions as well. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
I KEEP having bad experiences with this establishment!I called to make an appointment (Like I ALWAYS do on the Weekdays) - I guess when the last heard I got my nails done out of town, I wasn’t allowed to make an appointment, I had to just come, sit & wait toe first come first serve.Seriously, STOP SUPPORTING THIS PLACE. they are so awful.
EDIT after going for second chance:They Immediately reached out to me after this review and were so willing to help me with getting a better experience. They even gave me partial money back for the parking ticket and a free nail-redo. Seeing them take action and not only speaking with the nail tech I had but making me super comfortable about going back showed great customer service. Im not one to leave reviews bad or good but I was happy I had the courage to leave these 2 reviews so I could give this salon a second chance. When I came back I was set up with Teresa. Not only was she super funny, kind, and engaging she is AMAZING at doing nails. With being skeptical about seeing other techs than the one I have been going to for years, she made my nails exactly how I wanted them. Smooth, the exact length I wanted and great shape. I will definitely come back to see her, looks like she will be one of my go-to girls. I recommend booking with her as my great experience especially for someone like me who is precise and picky with their nails, I can testify that she will do a great job!First review:I have never been to a salon that has done my nails so poorly. I asked for short tapered square and kept asking them to be shorter. That wasn’t the big issue, I’ve gotten longer nails before so i thought it would be fine. My nails turned out lumpy, uneven, tilted, as worst of all i asked for glitter on top of plain color. I have never had a nail technician not know how to do it properly. Now i have huge white patches blocking the color i wanted glitter on top of. I made an appointment for 2:45 and got taken back 20 minutes late, I was very patient and kind. I was asked to pay $62 for nails I hated. I paid and left. I just didn’t want to deal with it anymore, I’m so disappointed as I usually have a place I go to that’s farther from me but I wanted to try a place closer. I’m so disappointed and do not recommend this place at all. I got home and immediately tried filing them down and fixing it and i made it decent but i can’t believe I paid to have to fix my own nails. Just horrible. On top of that nobody let me know about parking so i paid for parking at the meter and ended up getting a ticket. Just not a good experience overall.
A awesome experience. My nails AND feet are beautiful. Thanks Ladies
Honestly I was a little bit hesitant to come here, but I was so tired and did not want to drive and I live across the street. I’m so glad I came I had the most perfect experience, everyone was so nice, on time, and my manicure and pedicure came out beautifully!!!! I went to Kathy and Chloey but everyone’s work looked good!
First I want to start by saying that I am SUPER picky when it comes to nail salons, I have been here twice now and I have received EXCELLENT service, and EXCELLENT job on my nails, the lady I got was very kind and left my nail sooo good I can honestly say the Best job Ive gotten done, they have modern styles which I love, very Instagram and my nails LASTED for a month, which they usually dont because I am gym rat !!!, LOVE the Place and will keep going and recommending to all my family & friends,
My nails look so much better, thank you Justin! I will definitely come here again. They look just how I wanted them and thank you guys for treating me so well. Super nice people, thank you Vicky and Kathy for making sure I enjoyed my visit and that everything went well.
I really enjoyed my Gel Pedicure and it came out great!
Hands down one of my favorite nail salons. The staff is always nice, I usually never have a wait and my nails are always complete with no flaws and last 3-4 weeks with no breakage. Pedicures are amazing!!! I drive from Plano to this place because I refuse to give anyone else a try!
It was comfortable. My first time ever getting dip nails and I love them. From this day forward I want dip nails
I was a walk in after finding them on Google and learning my old nail shop switched ownership and would no longer carry the products I used. The place was very nice, clean and professional. My nail artist Teresa was amazing. She paid great attention to details and made sure I was happy with my nails. she so was very down to earth and easy to talk to. Its a mid-priced shop so youll spend around $50 average a visit but considering the area and the work done its worth it.
Came here twice and initially I didnt like my nails. I loved the environment, the weight time wasnt bad, they do nice eyebrows and all. So after my initial post on here the manager Kathy reached out and lets just say Im leaving here today completely satisfied. Mai did a wonderful job, had great conversation and I will be returning. This is great customer service and I thoroughly appreciate Kathy reaching out to make sure that I was satisfied. ❤️
I asked for a simple permanent polish and the attention of the Manager who does not know how to do nails was disastrous. All messy, poorly filed, poor finishes, and the diamond appliqués lasted less than 1 hour. The worst nail place.
Love going here! Everyone is so nice and does a great job with my nails and feet. They are amazing with their nail art and truly nail artist! Highly would recommend coming here and asking for Mary for your feet or Kathy, Teresa or Mai for your nails. Thanks ladies for always making me look good.
Bri is absolutely amazing and my favorite to go to!! I love getting my nails done at Urban Nails!!
Omg! I will be coming back. BRI did an AMAZING job on my acrylics. She gave me the PINTREST/INSTA nails Ive always wanted but never gotten-until Bri arrived!! Went here for the first time with a group of friends for a BDay celebration. The place was very clean, masks on, social distancing enforced, plastic shields in between you and nail tech. Once I saw that I wasnt so nervous. Drinks were nice. Ppl were nice and fun. Got a fabulous pedi and acrylics 😍 and her nails last a long time and so are mines! Mad talent 👏 🙌 👌. She is my main reason for going back ❤
Best quality work in Dallas! Caring nail techs that won’t ruin your nails!!! Thank goodness ♥️
I can call the same day and always get an appointment for all of the services I need. Don always takes care of my nails and Jolina is amazing with eyebrows.
I called a week in advance to schedule an appointment. I SPECIFICALLY asked for nail form extensions. The man on the phone said, “yes we do that is that what you want?” I said yes. I wanted nail form extensions not plastic extensions. I don’t like the way plastic extensions feel which is why I asked for nail form sculpting. When I arrived I was told to sit. I told the girl what I wanted and showed her a picture and she says to me, “I don’t know how to do that” she didn’t know how to do nail forms... she said only two people in the salon knew how to do them which I think is a problem considering how “high end” this places poses to be there should be more than two people who know how to do nail forms. That’s just unprofessional. I didn’t get what I wanted, I was annoyed that I had wasted my time and I spent $70 for something I didn’t even want. When I was checking out I asked if my coupon could be applied to my bill and he said yes and it was not applied to my bill. And now my finger is throbbing in pain because a piece of plastic is glued to it that I didn’t want which is why I wanted nail forms because they don’t leave a pressure like that. Overall not the best experience and I would NOT recommend it to a friend.
PLEASE BEWARE This place is ran like a sweatshop 4:30 Appointment for Two mani/pedi with a 22 min hot stone an essential oil message, this place had agood atmosphere, people appear to be very pleasant. Waited 10 min before seated, they were so confused about our scheduled service after repeating it 4 time they finally got it together. Not to mention it took my tech 20 min before he even acknowledge me, who appreard to be over worked base on the short conversation. To make a long story short, the service that was renderer and the service that I paid for was not qualified service if I must be honest Employees dont appear to well trained or licensed and they do not appear to be in compliance with OSHA they did not spray down 1 chair while we were there, which is really concerning. Do to there lack of communication we never got the mani, which was fine, but do to their lack of time management we missed our 7:30 dinner reservation, I paid 115 for 2 pedicure and 20 for gel polish. Will never return
Excellent mani and pedi the staff was very friendly. The shoulder and neck massage was AMAZING!!!!
It’s a new location in the Dallas area. So it’s definitely clean and updated. Lots of big screen TVs and the corner store front allows for lots of daylight and street view gazing. It is very busy. Lots of clients. An appointment is a must. The pedicure is good, not the best I’ve had but gets the job done. The seating is good, it’s massaging seats with straightforward to understand remote control functions.Definitely worth frequenting if in the area.Customer service is good
Update to below... I went back today and had my nails fixed. The tech did a MUCH better job and they were very apologetic. I will be going back again now that the situation was rectified.I just moved to downtown Dallas from Phoenix and went to this place exactly one week ago today. I have been getting dip on my nails for the past 4 years and have never had my nails look this bad and break so quickly. First of all the dip is way too thick, second of all she didnt even get the corners of my nails on my left hand... she was painting 3 to 4 nails at one time and dipping them after that - never have I been to someone in such a rush and it shows! To top it all off I have FOUR broken nails in ONE week! Prior to going here my nails lasted 3.5 weeks without a single break! Ugh so frustrating!I am very loyal and like to go to the same place, I hope this was just a bad tech.
