This is the only time I’ve ever used an emergency vet. I took my cat here late at night for an eye infection. It was really easy and the staff was very thorough explaining things. My kitty seemed to like the place except for the cone on her neck afterwards. They should use soft collars so kitties can eat. The price was actually not extreme as I thought it would be. The place is very fancy and large.

Cash grab. Two stars instead of one because I did feel like they know what theyre talking about and if money is completely not an issue then this place is for you. There is colossal disregard for peoples finances at MedVet. I brought my dog in because he had seizures. The doctors recommendation was to get going on a plan that would cost $5000 to $7,000 without knowing what would be next. Unacceptable. I took my dog home at 1:30AM to monitor him myself with the medications. Tough decision at the time, but in retrospect, it was a great decision.

These people will find anyway to add more charges and wont even perform stitches right on your animal wound opened again due to the fact that they didnt provide an E Collar when the paperwork clearly stated to use the E Collar they have provided they charged over $900 for stitches and when it opened up again they said they would have to charge another $800.00 just to restitch again and when we refused they advised since the doctor already took a look at the dog it would be 150 before we could pickup I advise anyone to stay away from this place they are after your wallet not your pets best interest as they took 11 hours just to stitch her up in the first place and when we got the dog back her stitches were all the way open again and not the way she was when we brought her in the 2nd time she was worse!

I had an oncology consult for my beloved pet as she just got diagnosed with a sarcoma in her neck. The staff have been amazing and have been thorough with explanations and treatment options. A special shout out to the vet tech Holly as she treated my pet just like her own! I just tried to take my dog here for a possible snake bite. Tried to check in, tried to have them come look at my dog who was in obvious distress and his face swelling and they were far more concerned with finding out my email address than sending someone out to help my animal. When I told him “hey, come grab the dog then we can get all my details taken down,“ he said we’ll be right out. I stood outside for nearly 15 minutes, watching people mill about in no hurry inside, while trying to call back to see when they were coming. Nobody would answer, nobody would come. I tried knocking on the door when they finally answered and said “we’ll be out shortly.” I had to take my dog to another vet 10 miles away rather than wait for these people to take their sweet time as my dog could be in shock.

Even if you have an emergency DO NOT.... repeat....DO NOT ever go to this doctors hospital at MedVet. They will do nothing but laugh in your face and refuse to provide any service. First the lady at the front desk absolutely is the rudest and the most intolerant employees i have ever dealt with in any city or any industry in my half century on this planet. I was scheduled for my dog on November 8 2021. Out of nowhere the front desk lady called me today at 10 : 00 am screaming and telling me that she needs to cancel the appointment for no apparent reason because theres no cardiologist. She was lying about it. Her voice and her attitude went out of order, I was simply shocked because I had no clue what was going wrong there. Their employees are there for the paycheck and does not care about the dogs life. They have a proven history of lying to your face because they refuse to read the charts of the dogs they are supposedly taking care of. Would give 0 stars if could. Either change your employees policy or train your staff to talk to relatives. Rude, uncommunicative & lazy.Very ghetto staff members. Do not send your dog to MedVet hospital. Youve been warned.

I brought my 15 year old lab in because she was loosing fur and skin in clumps. I explained numerous times to numerous employees why I was there. They literally kept asking me what do you want us to do about it? At the end of it all, they discharged my dog with that happens sometimes. Thats it. When I got home, I noticed that a large wound had opened on my dog WHILE SHE WAS IN THEIR CARE. They did not treat or clean the wound. In fact, they didnt even tell me that it happened. I had to discover it when I got home. Trust is a big component of any kind of medicine. I wouldnt trust this place to treat a goldfish cracker, let alone my dog. There are frustrating days and when a company is completely unethical I can’t rate them highly. I understand being in business. I take care of humans, and truly love my pets but if you bring a baby to me, your grandmother I assess and take care of them for much more reasonable fees. It took 7 hours for the vet to even look at my dog and she couldn’t tell me where the dog hurt. They want $500 for an X-ray for a broken limb, are you kidding? People can get full body scans for all the limbs for less than that. And then they were supposed to tell me they charge $140 for an exam but forgot. Come on. You are thieves.

I have never posted a review for anything before but my experience here made me feel it was worth telling others. I gave them any stars at all because ultimately my puppy lived and when I took him there, there was a good chance he wouldn’t due to pulmonary contusions from a fall. I’m forever grateful for that. But I definitely took stars away for lack of compassion concerning the financial side of things and minor issues with management. They initially told me they would give me a few minutes to decide how much money I was ready to siphon off for this care after giving a pretty large estimate, and in the mean time would at least start IVs and some oxygen. Then exactly 2 minutes later while I’m on my phone trying to log in to my bank they called back and demanded thousands right then otherwise they wouldn’t start the oxygen (which is all the pup really needed at that moment). Then, when I got a call later that night that he wasn’t doing well, I asked what they had given him for pain because it was obvious he was given their description, they’d given him nothing. I asked them to give him something and by the time I got there (to potentially say goodbye) he had “turned a corner and looked much better.” I shouldn’t have to be the doctor for my dog but I constantly had to advocate for him. This was even harder with these covid restrictions which we don’t even do in human hospitals anymore.

As a veterinary professional, I can truly say that MedVet has held a high level of providing exceptional veterinary care. I have dealt with NUMEROUS referral centers, ER’s, and your day to day animal hospital.Dr. Culwell, cardiologist, went above and beyond to help my dog, Celine and I before my initial consult. Dr. Stillie (my rDVM) had recommended that I see Dr. Culwell because of her expertise. I called another well known referral center (I will not disclose their name for professional reasons) but they could not get my acute collapsing dog until DECEMBER! She worked us in for September 15th - I had called 1 month prior to inquire about a referral, and although she was also booked until December, she squeezed us in knowing Celine had to be seen sooner due to her last collapsing episode almost causing death. Dr. Culwell, thank you for everything.I also have to say the CSR’s at MedVet are extremely nice. I spoke to Anthony multiple times when I called back, etc - and he was very professional and kind. When I came to pick up Celine, I spoke to Chris who was also nice.I truly wish everyone ALL pet owners need to understand that having a pet is not “cheap” and it will cost money. And that most of the times, some diagnostics are REQUIRED to help the veterinarians better understand what is going on with your pet. Please do not bash our veterinary heroes - they are humans too.

However, I take comfort in the fact that my cat was under such great care by Dr. Orencole and the surgery team. The doctor was such a genuine and sincere person who I could tell cared very much about his job. Nick, the vet tech, kept my buddy company in between appointments and eventually his surgery. Please consider taking your beloved pet to any ER but this place. My sweet dog spent 14hrs there yesterday, got 2 blood tests, and absolutely zero treatment. At 5pm they called to do X-rays and said they would call me back in an hour with results. 4hrs later and no results later, I decided to go pick her up. 2 catheters were used to draw blood samples and although she collapsed on their watch, only one person seemed to know about it and again, they did nothing to treat her. I took her home and called all night (it’s a 24 ER) and no one knew anything until this morning. Finally they called to recommend further exploration on her chest but it was too late. She collapsed again, went to the bathroom on herself and couldn’t get up. I took her to Hillside, where I had to say goodbye fo my best friend today :-(I’m beyond devastated and wish the last full day of her precious life wasn’t spent at Med Vet, and that maybe if we had gone somewhere else that actually treated her or figured out what was really wrong, she might still be here.

THEY FORGOT ABOUT ME TWICE AND LEFT ME WAITING FOR LONG PERIODS. Took my German Shepherd pup to be examined when i saw his mouth foaming. Hed been acting lethargic too. I headed to MedVet bc my local vets office was closed and the MetroPaws website said to go to Medvet. I checked in at 6:10 p.m. A vet nurse came to me, he said since my pup wasnt yet vaccinated, they wanted me to wait in a separate consult room, away from the main waiting area. No windows to this room. I was asked some questions and told another staff member would come get my pets history. I waited a looong time in that room. Halfway through this wait period, I walked out of the room to check the main area to see if the couple whod arrived after me was still there. They were, so i figured everyones wait time was as long. When i checked again a second time they and almost all others Id seen waiting had already been seen. I asked if i needed to be waiting in the consult room bc it felt like i was being forgotten about. The guy upfront said they hadnt forgotten, theyd be with me soon. I paced outside the room for a bit and then left the door open when i went back into the room this time. This finally got them to pay attention to me. I was soon moved to an examination room where they took my pets history and checked his vitals. I was told someone would come administer treatment. She did come sooner than later and she was very helpful. She said someone would come soon to give me discharge instructions. I waited, but no one came. Finally i stepped out of the examination room to tell them i was still waiting and the night nurse said shed check on that. Yes, it was night now. The woman who completed my discharge apologized about the wait, said there was a miscommunication, she thanked me for poking my head out to ask about getting discharged and also for my patience. 🤨 Remember, I checked in at 6:10 p.m. I finally started leaving at 10:32 p.m. I wont go back to MedVet bc of this. I dont like being forgotten about. Its rude and disrespectful. I spent waaaay longer there than others who arrived after me.

Bobbi Mcquown is an incompetent vet. She cannot give you answers that you could find by doing a literature search. Apparently, if she doesnt see a disease or outcome then she has no idea what to tell you, the pet owner. Her job is to keep up with the literature and learn things before she has a bunch of deaths on her hands! Instead, she just wants to shove chemo or some other expensive unhelpful treatment down your throat. Vets like her just want to bill or maybe its the whole MedVet center.

It is always hard going somewhere new and then not being able to go in with your pet for there appointment. From the moment Savanah came out to get Tori I felt instant comfort, she was so great with Tori. After the exam Dr. Rich called me and went over everything. She spent a lot of time going over what she thought was going on and other possible problems. She explained all the treatments we could try and different options that we had. We decided to just watch her since she was doing good at this time. Dr. Rich was not pushy toward doing additional testing and made me feel it was okay to just watch Tori for now. Savanah brought Tori back out to me and said how good she did, she tends to be really nervous so that was good to hear. Thank you both for the time you took with us. Karen

I had taken my dog here because her tooth was loose, which made her stop eating a lot and caused her to lose weight. One of the veterinarians that called me back said my dog looked very malnourished. Of course she’s malnourished....That’s the reason I brought her in. What did this vet not understand that when ones tooth hurts he/she will not have an appetite, which will lead to weight loss? She sounded like I purposefully didn’t feed my own dog. Shame on you for thinking I would do something so awful! It’s as if she didn’t understand what was wrong with my dog (which I explained multiple times) and just decided to say it was my own fault.

I recently went there because my cat was refusing to eat. When I got there they took my pet and asked me to wait in the car (Covid regulations I guess) It took them nearly 3 hours to finally give my cat back, charging me 300 dollars for the medication and examination. The nurse who brought her told me to warn them next time that shes a caution pet, as they said she bit and scratched at them. This was a huge surprise to me, as my cat was one to purr at strangers, and NEVER have I heard her hiss in her entire life, even with other vets. If I learned something, its that my cat knows whats good or whats bad, and this place is simply not pet friendly.Edit: I forgot to mention that they constantly misgendered my cat... and when I told them her problems, they replied, Huh... thats weird. This is literally their profession, and they cant even bother to check what gender my cat is nor recognize common cat issues.

This is by far the absolute worst experience I have ever had with a veterinarian; if I could give negative stars, I would. First they tell me it will cost $3K to operate on my feline, (Cleo) and tell me they will start immediately. I ended up paying the money upfront and thought everything would be fine. Wrong. Dr. Davis proceeded to call me 3 hours later saying they will not be operating on her, will be giving her fluids overnight instead, and that Ill have to pick her up in the morning. When I asked them for referrals for an alternative vet, I was told to just Google it. Unprofessional. They ended up keeping $600 for the 4 hours she was there and refunded me the rest. If I had only worked with Dr Aldridge in internal medicine, I would give MedVet 5 stars. Dr Aldridge listened to me, examined my puppy, offered ideas and alternatives on possible diagnoses, and proactively tried to help my puppy heal and grow. I can’t recommend her enough.I was first seen by Dr. E in internal medicine. Unfortunately I cannot give Dr. E the same review. He continued to prescribe the exact same medicine that my regular vet had prescribed, offering no alternative (other than running an ultrasound), and I had to ask about every possible diagnosis, only to be told by him and his staff “I don’t know about that, let me research online and get back to you” only to never hear from them or to be told a vague answer. For example, they couldn’t even tell me if they’d run an ELIZA test for giardia or a simple fecal float - they couldn’t tell me if my puppy was suffering from colitis (spoiler - he was. Dr. Aldridge caught and treated that). I wasted time and money with Dr. E. I don’t mind the money part - even though that was painful. I’m upset because we wasted valuable time treating a condition that didn’t need to be treated, and my puppy continued to suffer with an inflamed colon and bleeding when he pooped. Puppyhood was rough for my little guy, and I was met with apathy from Dr. E, and for that, I cannot recommend him. Demand to see Dr. Aldridge if you do need to see an IMS (she’s booked out a lot - now I know why!).

While we sometimes had a hard time getting through to understand her progress, and although the surgery took a week to schedule, we are overall very happy with her treatment and the care she got. Over that first week when she was under monitoring / pain meds, they kept her comfortable and kept us informed. If we wanted more details, we just continued to call in. At one point, we had a nurse that was willing to text us photos and videos, which was SO reassuring for us at home.Later, Dr. Olson operated on her and used the gold standard operating technique of putting a screw in her leg. He has probably spent what now amounts to 1.5 hours of collective time with us on the phone or in person, explaining what this would mean, and how it would impact her. We are now 4 months later and she has healed beautifully. I just got off the phone with Dr. Olson to ask if she is ready to start jogging again, and he spent 15 mins explaining to me how to go about monitoring her pain levels and activity tolerance.Overall, we feel so grateful to the staff and doctors at MedVet for taking such good care of our girl! She was a rescue to start, so we didnt know much of her medical history, and they were patient and thoughtful throughout. The medical staff are absolutely superb! They are generous, kind, caring, thoughtful, and very well trained. I have no issues with the medical staff. They have expertly taken great care of my dog and I never feel an ounce of fear or doubt when he is in their care.My issue is with the office staff, specifically those who run payments. Yes, this emergency vet clinic is very expensive, especially for my old, diabetic pup. The issue is that they dont understand all the ways clients can pay for their services with the Synchrony Care Credit card. I have been paying thousands of dollars to this clinic since July 2020 using the Care Credit card. Each time, I open my app and fill out 5-6 lines of info and pay my bill immediately through the app within seconds. I just need the date of service, the invoice number, and the total amount due from the office and then Im done. Each time I attempt to pay this way, the staff dont seem knowledgeable about this service and insist on sending me a link through my email for me to pay. Every time, I pay through the app faster than the email even arrives in my inbox. When I say Ive just paid, they doubt me and then look and see its already posted to their system. This is infuriating! The financial/office staff should know all the ways clients can pay so that I dont feel ridiculed any time Im attempting to PAY THEM HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS. Additionally, Ive even had someone tell me that Ill end up paying hundreds of dollars more for a non-promotional transaction on the card when I attempted to pay for a $53 medication using the card. DO NOT TALK TO ME ABOUT MY FINANCIAL CHOICES. I fully understand what Ive signed up for by taking out a credit card to pay for specialty vet services.Although this is extremely expensive and my regular vet can do most of this care at a much lower rate, the medical staff are the only reason I keep coming back. However, Im getting to my wits end with the office staff and Im slowly moving my care back to my regular vet.

Tiffany was also great about calling me promptly to review medical history and give me a cost estimate (final bill ended up being less than quote). Jamila also called me once again to review discharge instructions. Yes, they are “pricey” but this is the same thing as a human ER, just for pets. :) They can do more procedures to diagnosis and treat your pet than a regular vet and they operate 24/7 creating more overhead cost. It’s to be expected they are going to have higher rates than a regular vet. I was happy to pay extra to get him in right away and back to himself! Thanks, you guys!

My family had a very positive experience at MedVet Dallas last Sunday. Our 12 year old Dale dog had laid down a walk and we could tell he was dying. We rushed him to MedVet and were able to diagnose and stabilize him. They provided an overview of what was happening so that we could make a compassionate decision (ruptured hemangiosarcoma of the heart). We were able to say our goodbyes, and really appreciated the time they were able to afford us. We were called by way of follow up, and the doctor expressed her condolences. They sent a very nice card with his pawprint and some notes from the staff that week.

Our cat got sick and took a turn for the worse today and was suffering after regular vet hours. I took her here and the vet tech and the doctor were so kind, supportive, and compassionate, and the vet assured us it was nothing we did or could have done, disease happens unexpectedly. The detailed explanation of the disease and the extent of it gave me peace in knowing that I didnt let my pet suffer any longer than necessary.

It was only a brief experience, but given the circumstance of everything going on right now, I couldnt ask for much more in how they treated my cat Smuckers before he passed. Everyone with whom I spoke was incredibly friendly, and Dr. French was honest, but caring and patient in explaining the options. So when it came time to make the decision to let him go, they took a lot of the pain out of what is an incredibly difficult decision for pet owners. And they kept Smuckers comfortable the entire time he was at the hospital. As a pet owner, you always worry how the end will be, and if itll be peaceful and at the right time. The folks at MedVet offered that comfort.

Because I couldnt afford the 4k-6k to get her the on-site treatment. And it was around the holiday other vets were closed. They gave my dog pills, and stuff to give her by mouth. They didnt give me any iv fluids to give dog at home and no injections to give her at home to bypass stomach. How is a dog supposes to take pills and medicine by mouth if they are vomitting and not eating. Now they would give the dog the proper stuff if you pay for on-site care.

Not a good experience. It’s hard to be angry when you’re heart broken from the pain of your dog passing. I was there twice on Saturday 1/9. I took my dog in for what I thought were abdominal issues and she was treated for abdominal issues that turned out to be back issues that worsened very quickly. I was told they wouldn’t be able to do a full sonogram (she didn’t need a sonogram because her issue was in her spine so she needed an MRI) on her until Monday 1/11 and just to keep her until then, it would cost up to 4k. I was informed by someone by the name of Teresa that my dog hadn’t been allowed to get up that they were keeping her lying down then shortly after when I spoke with the Dr (Olsen), he assured me that she had been moving and walking around. They gave her some strong pain meds (methadone?) and a couple of prescription pills, 1 for nausea (again, not once had she thrown up and her issues were not in her digestive system or stomach) and the other for pain and I decided to take her home and keep her comfortable until we could bring her back for a sonogram when they were able to do one. IF THIS IS AN EMERGENCY HOSPITAL WHY CAN’T YOU DO A SONOGRAM ANYTIME NO MATTER THE TIME OR DAY OF THE WEEK??? When the tech brought her out, my dog fell from her back legs and urinated herself and I asked the tech to let the Dr know. Mind you this whole time, I have to jump through hoops and call and be put on hold to speak to the Dr and he wouldn’t come out. His name was Dr Olsen I believe. The tech came back and said the Dr said it was most likely a side effect of the pain meds she was on. I loaded her into my car and immediately called the Dr because I was worried about her back legs giving out on her and someone by the name of Lydia again said it must be a side effect and she was just drowsy (the Dr couldn’t get on the phone). I got her home and got her comfortable and she tried to walk and kept falling over and she was running a fever. I called MedVet and they said it would be a good idea for me to bring her back in, but that they were backed up with several critical patients so instead I rushed her to the emergency vet on Fitzhugh and they rushed her in right away and the vet personally came out and explained to me that she most likely had a slipped disc on her back and that I should take her back to MedVet because they have all the “big toys” to better diagnose her and perform surgery if needed. I rushed her back to MedVet and left her overnight and I was told they would keep her in ICU until they could perform an MRI or CT scan. The last doctor I dealt with was very comforting and gave me good news that more than likely she wouldn’t need surgery since she could stand on her back legs she just had no strength. I was relieved and felt she was in great hands. At 6am Sunday morning, I got a call from the Dr that she had stopped breathing and died peacefully. Tess was a healthy 5 year old English bulldog that was full of life. I will forever wonder if she had been treated for spinal issues, would she still be alive? I’m very grateful for people in the veterinary field and have a great deal of respect for their profession and understand mistakes happen but that does not change the fact that my baby girl is gone. My heart is broken into a million pieces.

If I could give zero stars I would in a heartbeat. They are money hungry and dont care a single bit about my dogs emergency! Our usual vet is Hillside where we took our dog in because she, out of nowhere, started acting extremely strange and disoriented. Im talking falling down all the time, not walking straight, her head consonantly bobbing, wont eat/drink on her own, wont blink, etc. After hillside saw her for sign in they immediately took her in for emergency. They ran tests and took great care of my dog, but unfortunately could not find the problem with her. They said that it was more than likely neurological and referred us to Medvet because of the Neurological department. They told us to get her seen as soon as we can... It has now been two full days of arguing with Medvet to get my dog seen. Hillside has helped us so much by cooperating with MedVets requests: talking to their doctors over the phone, sent over a physical referral, and even sent my dogs medical records from her visit to the ER with them, all to get my dog seen by Medvet. Medvet, however, still refuses to look at her paperwork for another 2-3 days before they can even figure out a good time for her to come in. Theyre also telling us if we have a problem with that then we can go through their ER and wait 4 hours or more in the parking lot, pay that fee, and pay a transfer fee. AKA either pay them a large sum for an unnecessary visit that they already have information on on top of a transfer fee or they will continue to give us the run around regardless that theyve been told its an emergency. My dog still has the same symptoms and still will not eat/ drink on her own.. Medvet will never have my business. Horrible place, extremely unprofessional.

My best friend and companion, Walter, was diagnosed with heart failure and had to have the fluid around his heart drained. Dr. Vadell performed the procedure, and she was very helpful in what all was going on with my sweet dog. When I received the bad news, I started crying but Dr. Vadell was very kind and understanding. She basically gave him days to weeks to live, and unlikely months. Exactly two weeks later, he could not stop vomiting so I took him back up there to get him some anti nausea meds and possibly fluids. This time it was Dr. Olsen that took care of my Walter. He was also very kind and helpful, but told me Walter maybe had a few days left. I was waiting to pick Walter up in the parking lot and got a call that when they went to get my Walter, he had passed in the kennel. Of course, I was a mess and couldn’t quit crying, but every single staff member I spoke with was incredibly compassionate and understanding. Despite COVID restrictions, they allowed me to come say goodbye to my boy and told me I could take as long as I wanted. When it was time for me to go, I asked the kind woman who took Walters body if she could cut some of his hair for me. She cut a spot where both his colorings were and put his hair in a nice little bag. I appreciated that. I decided to do a private cremation, and he was ready to be picked up less than a week later. I’ve never done a cremation before, let alone through an animal hospital, so I was expecting to just pick up a bag of ashes. No, they did so much! I got a bag with a pamphlet on how to deal with my grief, and not only did he come in a beautiful wooden box, they also put his paw print on a mold that came with a nice little stand. A few days later, I got a card in the mail to show their condolences and several of the staff members signed it. In the card, they had stamped Walters paw on a pretty designed piece of card stock and his nose on another one. I feel like this place went above and beyond to do everything in their power they could to save him, gave me realistic expectations of my Walt so I could prepare for his passing, and seriously every single person I was in contact with that works here was so very kind, professional, helpful, and compassionate. They deserve more than 5 stars, I’m so happy with this pet hospital. It’s an hour away from me, but if I ever have another emergency with one of my other pets (God forbid), I will be bringing them back here. Thank you, MedVet, for all that you did for my Walter and then for my family after his passing. You guys are the best, and I’m so thankful for everything!

Unfortunately we had to take our sweet Pomeranian, Remi, to MedVet several times over the last year. While the care is very expensive, it was worth every penny to get to spend more time with her. They treated us with lots of care and respect, and always provided updates when Remi had to stay overnight. After she passed in November, MedVet took care of her cremation and I received two condolence cards from the staff, which were really thoughtful. The only critical feedback I have for the team is to send more photos/updates throughout the day when pets have to stay overnight during COVID. It was so tough not being able to visit her in the ER and i always felt like a bother when I called for updates! Thank you MedVet and Dr. Aldridge for all your care and support!

I agree with the reviews that indicate that MedVet is only about the money. Since we had a positive experience with the Oncology Department earlier in 2020, we felt confident taking another of our cats to MedVet’s Internal Medicine Department. Although Internal Medicine was helpful at our initial visit, the curbside service created a great deal of inefficiency. Since we do not live close by, we were forced to wait in the car for hours which is not fun in the heat of the summer. We have been to two other vets who utilize curbside service much more efficiently and have our pets in and out quickly. After our second visit to MedVet, we were having problems with our cat’s insulin dosage and attempted to contact the doctor over a period of several days. The stock reply we got was that she was not in and we should “bring our cat into emergency” if we needed something done in the meantime. This seems unreasonable when only an adjustment in insulin dosage was required. This response seems designed exclusively to generate additional revenue. We happily moved on to another vet who is more responsive and do want any further dealings with MedVet.

I am not a fan of google reviews and sometimes mistakes happen but what I experienced with my cat was heart wrenching. Long story short; I brought my boy to MedVet on recommendation from my vet. I was assured this place will help my boy. This was so far from the truth. The day I picked my cat up I was met in a busy lobby with my cat in his carrier and a tech trying to tell me the medications he was in and expected me to remember that. I asked for her to write them down and she did on a post it note. Annoyed by this experience but chalked it up to maybe it was a busy day. No animosity at this point. I get my boy home and realized he was severely dehydrated and had not eaten in several days. He had to again be hospitalized. Tried to speak with the hospital director but she is a typical corporate girl who doesn’t care about the patient but more of the bottom line. I recommend to run far away from this place and never look back.

This place did a phenomenal job of taking care of my dog as well as making me feel at ease. My dog is reactive and gets aggressive- particularly when he is approached or cornered in on. Unlike most of our experiences where vet offices try to assess for themselves the temperament and tolerance of the dog despite what the owner reports, the staff here listened and observed. It was such a relief to me and it allowed us to keep my dog under threshold and mostly calm until it was time for the exam in the back. Thank you Med Vet Dallas.

So grateful for the kindness and understanding of Dr. Orencole and the facility as a whole. My vet referred me here for an issue they didn’t feel comfortable dealing with because my dog is diabetic. The Dr and surgical assistant were so nice and understanding. They gave me three options or I should say opinions of what could happen and the Surgeon actually recommended the least expensive and didn’t try to push me on anything. Sent my sweet girl home with some medicine that will hopefully fix her issue. If not we will have to go to the next option. But once again he told me they are quite expensive because of some added fees and suggested I find regular vet clinic to go to for a very small procedure. Not sure why there was so many one stars for no compassion because I never once felt like I or my sweet baby was getting pushed over by people that didn’t care. Yes you have to wait in your car but what a small price to pay if you are there for your baby. I wouldn’t have cared if it had taken days as long as my baby was getting top level treatment. Thank you again and if I have any other major issues with any of my fur babies I will be driving the 62 miles to your clinic rather than going to one in my town that doesn’t give me the level of service Dr. Orencole provided.By the way. You have my full permission to share this review on your social media or website. I’m forever grateful for the staff to take care of my baby. I didn’t catch the name of the sweet lady that came out to the car to get my Abbey but she was the nicest most understanding person that I have dealt with at any vets office. STAY AWAY unless you know for sure your pet is in a life threatening manner or they will ignore you. We took our dog there last night on the recommendation of our vet to have looked at for a bot-fly bite/larvae in his neck (he had gotten one a few years ago so we knew what it was). Our vet couldnt see him for a week and half and she said we shouldnt wait because it would continue to do damage and could get infected. So we get to MedVet and because of the COVID situation we have to stay in the car and call them to register him in. We gave all our information and numbers to the lady and she says we will immediately have some come out and get him. But no one came except the lady that came to our car while we were registering our dog looking for another dog. So we sit in our car and see them come out and get other dogs and walk them in ....none looking like they have life threatening conditions since they are walking in under their own power and wagging their tails. So after an hour we called back trying to see how much longer it was going to take before they came to get our dog since others had showed up since we were there and their dogs had been taken in. The lady answers and she says They have come to get him yet? and says she was putting us on hold to find out. So we are on hold for about five minutes all the time listening to the hold message of we know your time is valuable and understand that etc. the lady comes back on and says because its not deemed a LIFE THREATENINGcondition at this time we would have to wait in our car another 3 hours MINIMUM before they would get him on top of the hour it took to drive there and the hour we already been sitting there. They had our numbers from checking in and they could have called us to tell us this instead of expecting us to sit and wait wasting our time. Needless to say we did not stay and will be contacting our vet to see if she can work him in any sooner.

It has taken me time to write this because I hoped time would dull the shock and disappointment I felt with MedVet Dallas. My regular vet referred me here. The front desk staff seemed to have no idea we were coming and asked for the documents that my vet had already sent over. A staff member took him in and told us we would receive a call shortly. About an hour later, we received a call from Dr. Faludi (not the cardiologist) with the news about him. It was a situation that did not need a cardiologist, but there was no explanation or any information given as to why the cardiologist never saw him. Or perhaps she did, I will never know. He gave me the news that my dog most likely had cardiac hemangiosarcoma - the worst case scenario in this situation, but he downplayed it like it was no big deal that he would most likely be dying in a matter of days or weeks. In fact, he didnt even describe anything about the disease except for calling it the silent killer of Golden Retrievers multiple times. He offered us two options: drain the fluid in his pericardium and take him home, or drain the fluid in his pericardium and keep him overnight for an echo and monitoring. We asked if there was an option of monitoring for a few hours and doing an echo afterward and were told no. We told them to drain the fluid and we would go from there.Immediately I was transferred back to the front desk where the staff person went over what we were doing for Bear and how much it would cost, because of course I would have to prepay. Who Bear is, I dont know. I paid and asked that we be able to see him before he went in for the procedure. They told us to wait outside a side door and that they would come get us. While we were waiting another employee walked right by into the door, making no eye contact and saying nothing. We went back to the parking lot while they performed the procedure. We were told it would be done ASAP. Two hours later we hadnt gotten a call from anyone, so I called to check on his status. We were transferred to a nurse who told us he did great for the procedure and was in recovery, and that Dr. Faludi would be calling soon. We waited another hour with no phone call - then someone from the front desk called to let me know that he was ready to be discharged and I could stay on the line to make the final payment. At this point, I still hadnt talked to the vet or received any information other than he was still alive, but they were REAL happy to take my money and get my dog out of there. About 45 minutes later (almost 4 hours since they took him back), Dr. Faludi called to tell us what they had done, but offered little detail and no prognosis. We then waited another 45 or so minutes before I called the front desk back again, asking if I could check out and pick up my dog. While waiting in the pickup line, a staff member tapped on the passenger window and asked if we were waiting for something. She had no idea who he was, but would go look. She brought him out, and thankfully we noticed she did not have the 3 vials of fluid in the bag. When asked her about the fluid, she said I have no idea about that and turned to walk away. She asked her to go check, and she did come back out with 3 unmarked identical vials of fluid that she practically tossed at us as she turned to walk away. There was never any empathy from any of the staff. I know it was an emergency and he didnt have an appointment, but never was there an Im sorry or I know this is really hard.Upon getting home and realizing they had not emailed any of the discharge instructions, we called MedVet back and the person we spoke to hung up on us. They sent me a survey two days after our visit and I never received a response from them after completing it. I would recommend that everyone stay far away from any MedVet hospital - I will never take another one of my dogs there again.

My best friend and I took our cat Charlie here and the whole experience was horrible, the customer service is appalling as well.We took him in at around 9, they came out to get him die to covid-19 so we had to wait in the car (which is absolutely fine) he was there for about an hour at which point the doctor (I believe it was Dr. Videl) told us she was pretty sure it was a break and that he would need either surgery or an amputation. We opted not to do the X-rays and instead take him to our family vet because it was far less expensive. They gave Charlie pain meds and sent us home with the expectation that his leg was BROKEN.AFter going to our family vet it was determined that his leg wasn’t broken at all but that he had an animal bite and that abscessed and become infected (an oversight would be an understatement). The doctor completely misdiagnosed Charlie which would’ve let to him dying of an infection or losing the limb.I called to speak with the doctors to determine what went wrong in the situation and the head of the department was SO condescending, she wasn’t interested in helping she just wanted to prove me wrong. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE WHO LOVES THEIR PETS. Even if it is an emergency your pet will probably not be adequately examined and the exam fee alone is $130. I respect what they do but this place was a no-go. I apologize for the one star, but apparently you have to in order to leave a review, otherwise I would give this establishment zero! I was reading all the reviews and it honestly shocked me to see that people were giving good reviews! After what I expierienced and am having to endure due to the negligence, malpractice, and unprofessional conduct preformed by the staff at the time I cant even fathom that they have anything other than complaints and lawsuits! I am a 501c3 rescue, I am very active in the rescue community, and I deal with numerous vet clinics, hospitals, and emergency care facilities on a daily basis and I have yet to expirience anything even remotely as appalling and horrifying. They came out to my vehicle and took my little one in then not even minutes after I watch them disappear I get a call from another employee stating that they will need 1000 paid upfront before they will begin. Then after about 3 1/2 to 4 hours I recieve another call from a different staff member telling me that they will now have to have a prepayment of 6,000 in order to begin his care! Mind you I have no idea what the diagnosis, prognosis, treatment plan, alternatives, I know absolutely nothing accept he went in and they will not begin any type of medical care until the prepayment of 6,000 is paid in full! So my little one was taken in just to lay for hours with no medical care! So I hang up and start reaching out to my sponsors and donors and Im constantly being interrupted by the incoming calls of the hospital, so I finally answer and it is yet another totally different staff member and they are basically harassing me for the 6,000. I try to explain multiple times of me being a 501c3 and how it works but after several hours of being put on hold and transfered to several different staff members they are oblivious to it all and all they are concerned with is payment, no explanation on why the amount, or how did they come to the amount without a proper examination being done, just that it will be 6,000. I continue to ask for an explanation on costs while trying to explain that I have sponsors and donors that are waiting to call in payments but a copy of treatments and costs are needed so they are aware of what they are donating to and Im put on hold for another half hour until the call is ended by them hanging up! The final call comes about ten minutes later and it is another different staff member that is like all the others prior to her that knows absolutely nothing about my little one why hes there what needs to be done nothing accept she needs to collect the 6,000 and has the audacity to go on to tell me the other option would be for me to say there is nothing I can do and to have him euthanized! I held my composure and told her that I was coming to get him! She then went on trying to detour me by saying so youre coming to get him, I said yes Im an route now, she replies so you do not want his broken leg treated, and that is when I lost all my manners 6,000 prepayment for a broken leg? She says well yes maam, I laughed said Im coming to get him and taking him elsewhere and hung up! I pulled up and sat there in front of the main entrance for 45 minutes until I recieved another call by another different staff member saying I owe 156.89 how am I paying. I said cash he came right out took my money then another staff member came out with my baby! His body was asleep like while his face was wide awake. The lady said he was given pain medication so he is real out of it. I got him home and it took hours for him to start coming around and the medication to begin to wear off. He ate some ice drank some water wanted to be held and cuddled but still hours and hours later the medication still hadnt worn off. I recieved an email it was a payment receipt it showed he was given injections of 10mg methadone and quantity was 12. My baby weighed 6 to 7 pounds! I stayed up holding him until I finally passed out around 4am. I woke up at 6am for some strange reason and my little baby was gone! He had passed away with vomit around him! LAWSUIT

Doctor was good and caring but MetVet is way overpriced and, again, my pet died but they got their $900+ in full!

About 3 months ago our dog Charlie had a hernia. Since he also has a history of frequent kidney stones, Dr. Orencole went ahead and took a scan for them, and sure enough, found grit in his bladder, which are the beginnings of new stone formation. He took the time to explain and answer our questions with patience. In surgery, he flushed out the grit and fixed the hernia. He and his staff were all professional. Charlie has about a 5 inch scar that has healed very well since surgery. Not the cheapest, but their quality of work and great care for Charlie was worth it. Thank you!

MONEY HUNGRY DIDNT EVEN EXAMINE MY CATi took my cat into medvet monday night because i noticed he has in excruciating pain and could not put any pressure on his left hind leg. and he would not even let me get close to touching it without meowing in pain. when we got there we called in and they took him in and all was good. when they called us back to register him they were asking me questions that they shouldve known by simply looking at him since he was already in their office. For example the nurse asked me what color he was... while he was already under their care. After that we waited for a few hours until we got a call back from the vet.. when they finally called they said that they believed he had broken his leg and told me that depending on where it was broken he might even need surgery or a possible AMPUTATION. they asked me if they could run xrays and when i asked how much it would cost on top of the $133 i was already paying for him to just be seen they told me that with xrays i wouldve paid roughly $550 upfront. obviously thats alot of money to pay straight up being that i am 18 with 2 jobs struggling financially so they told me that another thing i could do was get him on pain meds until the morning when his regular vet opened up and take him there for xrays . so i agreed to this still under the impression that they were almost certain that he had a broken leg. So i left medvet after paying $246.74 for this night. First thing the next morning i took my cat to his vet and immediately as soon as his vet took him out of the kennel he saw a massive bite mark on his left leg... and it had began to get infected and he immediately began to clean it out and get it all sorted out.. No X-Ray needed.. No broken leg... No amputation. How is it possible that medvet didnt see the hole in his leg.. didnt i pay them $133 for the simple checkup .. if they had checked his leg in any degree they wouldve been able to see it. imagine i had paid the $550 for the xrays.. the xrays he didnt need because it wasnt broken.. Im convinced they didnt even give him a thorough checkup and assumed based on what i told them about his condition that he just needed xrays.. will not be returning. dont reccomend .

What can I say... These people saved the life of our dog and family member, Milo. We brought him in at midnight and he was immediately whisked away and given the medical help he needed by several animal-loving, well-trained professionals.. They truly ARE life-savers! I cannot speak highly enough of the help and kindness of the people that work here.. Top Notch!

I could not be more impressed with how kind and compassionate EVERY single person we worked with at this location was. Our dog (who is like our baby) was there for 3 days over this past holiday weekend (Memorial Day) and we probably talked to a dozen people between different shifts of receptionists, vet techs and vets and everyone was extremely caring. Ive never experience that with any medical office before. They all took the time to explain everything thoroughly and we especially loved Dr. Gardner. We did not feel nickle and dimed or overcharged. The bedside manner of the entire staff was remarkable. I will never take my dogs anywhere else for emergency care.

Fantastic emergency room veterinarians, saved our 13 year old dog from a gigantic hairball and kept him alive through post surgical pneumonia when we were worried that he was too old to be a good surgical candidate. Their billing staff is pretty unhelpful when asked to give an itemized list and have difficulty with the concept of speaking into the receiver of the phone to be heard clearly, which is... frustrating. Initial vet bill was estimated at 7-8k, turned out it was close to twice that when all said and done.Expensive, but they pulled off a miracle.

My Yorkie got a stick lodged on the roof of his mouth and I took him in today. He was really distressed about it and I was afraid he would choke. They literally took him inside for 2 minutes and they came back out with the stick in hand. I was worried about the bill because emergency vets tend to be expensive but they didn’t even charge me. Goes to show they care more about wellbeing of animals than money. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!

Dr. Peryra was so great and so was Dustin. We were seen quickly and they were able to rule out a lot of things to send us home with our sweet little girl until we were able to see our vet this afternoon. She is doing much better.

If I could ZERO I would!!!!! Terrible place to take your pet. THIS PLACE IS MONEY HUNGRY AND VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. ON TOP OF THAT THEY REFUSED TO LET ME SPEAK TO A MANAGER. Who does that? NOT ONLY THAT I WAS CHARGED 2 TIMES WHAT I PAID BY ACCIDENT AND REFUSING TO REFUND MY MONEY BACK TO MY CARD. I have been in contact with my bank who now are disputing the charges made by Med Vet. I have also gathered people in the reviews who they’ve done VERY dirty and VERY SOON there will be a case and we will have it all out in court to get these people what they deserve. RUN AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AS YOU CAN . Again.... money hungry, and much more. People’s animals have died also in the hands of this place.

I wasn’t able to get an appointment with my vet. Sunday my 5 year old cat was lethargic, and not eating. Upon recommendation from another pet hospital that was at capacity I took him to Med Vet.This turned out to be one of the biggest mistakes of my life. I couldn’t go in with him because of the virus so I sat in the car. The vet called to see about doing blood work. She said someone would call back with an estimate which was over $500.The girl that met me at the car called back to tell me the price. I asked if the vet thought he was dying, was at the end of life etc...she said oh no this would rule out something like feline leukemia or aids.I said well can you ask the question to the vet. She put me on hold and asked. She came back and said oh no he’s not dying, it’s nothing like that she said we can do an outpatient treatment and you can follow up with your vet. She said we will give him fluids, give him an appetite stimulant and give him a 24 hour flea pill. They would send another flea pill to be given in 24 hours as well as the appetite stimulant.I said he had flea meds 4 days ago and she said yes she had that information on the history she’d taken from me.I agreed for them to do the outpatient treatment, and to follow up with my vet.So later on I go to pick him up. They didn’t bring him back with his towel. They carged me about $294.00. There were instructions that listed applying the appetite stimulant and to give him another flea med capsule the next day ( which wasn’t in the bag).I take him home and he gets under a chair and I’m assuming he’s traumatized because he had to go to the vet and wants to rest.Later on in the evening I check on him and he’s either dead or almost dead. I call the place and tell him they did something to kill my cat. She said oh no we didn’t do anything to kill him. You turned down blood work. I said that wasn’t the reason he died. I specifically asked was he dying, was he in a dire situation and y’all said oh no he’s not dying we can do an outpatient treatment, and you can follow up with your vet.I said you definitely did something to him to cause him to die because he wasn’t like this when I took him to the vet. He was lethargic and wasn’t interested in his food which is abormal behavior for him.It would have been better for me to put him to sleep. Instead I paid y’all about $300 to kill him slowly. When I brought him home I thought he had been sleeping not dying.I HATE this place! I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone! I would have given it less than 1 Star, but there was nothing less than 1.Don’t take your pet here! That vet must be a total idiot.I do have to say the girl that came out to get him, and talked to me about what the vet said was nice and pleasant.

This is the reason I no longer fear emergency veterinarian services. It’s scary enough to have to take your Fur Baby to the doctor especially when you don’t know what’s going on. Add onto that not knowing where you’re taking them or how much it will end up costing and it can Be terrifying. Unless you choose MedVet. First of all it’s the cleanest and nicest emergency room I’ve ever been to for animals or people!More importantly, Every person we interacted with made it clear that they understood how special our baby was to us and then they demonstrated that with their care, attention, and patience. Brittney at the front desk was incredibly kind and informative whenI called several times with obnoxious questions. At no point did I feel that they were up selling me for the care of my dog. Every part of this experience was transparent and compassionate. Very grateful that they kept me from having a nightmare and already difficult situation. I Hope that I won’t have reasons to return in future, but if I ever do I will absolutely come back here !

I made an appointment for my dog at 8:45am for an ultrasound. The ultrasound costs $1052! They were supposed to call me by 11am with an update. No call. I finally called them at 5pm when I hadn’t heard anything. No one seemed to know what was going on. I’m now sitting here in the waiting room at 7pm. They still have my dog and I still have no spoken with the physician. Unbelievable. If I could give negative stars I would. DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG HERE.

I was so nervous to bring my dog to MedVet after reading some scary reviews on here, but I have had an amazing experience both visits. Dr. Bobbi McQuown and all of the staff have been incredibly thorough, great listeners, strategic, and friendly. My dog’s health issues have been a mystery, but I feel they are finally starting to piece things together. They are great at follow up and making sure you have proper instructions. I am so happy I found a vet I can trust will care for the outcome of my dog. They have never asked for him to stay the night and the costs are more reasonable than other people reviewed on here. I highly recommend MedVet!
