The only place in DFW you should even consider taking your classic car to. I had the great guys and gals at Dallas Customs and classics rebuild and customize, the Old iron duke in my 1989 Chevy S-10, along with a new clutch and a lot of other new parts. And man does she run like a top now! Truck only has 88k miles and I don’t think she’s ever ran as good as she does now. The attention to detail and build quality is phenomenal! Also top notch customer service! I was updated with pictures and messages about each process in the rebuild. Which was great because I got to see progress on my truck while she was in there hands. Couldn’t ask for better customer service from these guys. And you can tell that everyone that works here has a true passion for classic vehicles. Any job big or small I would trust these guys with. I would give 10 out of 5 stars if possible.
Hard to find place that’s like a gem in a bush but they’re so worth it. Mr. Todd was super professional and I brought my 1985 Chevrolet Caprice classic coup and it’s stock engine to Him ( had bunch of Carbeuator and vacuum problems and had a wheel bearing issue) and he made the engine of the car better and more efficient than when it was manufactured and much prettier as well! Trust these guys with your classics you’ll get what you’ve been hoping for!
Brought my 78 Trans Am to Todd for the installation of an EFI system. I knew the oil pan was leaking. When I got home and saw that the oil spot on the floor of the garage was a little larger than I was comfortable with, I called and told Todd to go ahead, pull the engine and change the oil pan gasket. After some thought, I called back and said while you have it out, you might as well update the cam. If you are going to change the cam, maybe we should do a roller cam. A roller cam would require new heads... and I think you see where this is going. When all was said an done, the only things that were not new on the engine were the block, the starter, and the power steering pump. The cost was an order of magnitude more than I had planned. But, it was all my doing and I don/t regret it for a second. The car performs better than it ever has and I wont get beaten away from a stop light by a Kia anymore.Communication with Todd was excellent. He kept me informed every step of the way and never seemed flustered with my stupid questions. If you want cheap work, I recommend you go somewhere else. If you want good work, done right the first time, then Todds your man.
Awesome shop! Todd and his team are fantastic! I was finally able to get my 1967 Camaro back on the road today. Many, many thanks to Todd and his great team. The work performed was top notch. I was given daily updates on budget and status of my car. These guys go above and beyond. Super friendly. Super knowledgeable. If your classic needs work, I personally recommend Dallas Customs & Classics. This was round 1 of enhancements and much needed maintenance for my Camaro. Can’t wait to see what we do to it next! Thank you Dallas Customs & Classics!
I had learned of Todd at a car show where he was said to be very knowledgeable about all aspects of car repair including EFI conversion and tuning for which I was in need of.Upon initial inspection he suspected the ignition system might also be affecting the performance. As we spoke during that first visit, it was clear he has first-hand extensive experience with automotive repair. Todd kept me informed every step of the way during diagnosis and repair of my ignition system and re-programming of the EFI system. This is the best my car has ever run since the initial installation of the EFI system from another source. The engine is responsive with smooth no faltering acceleration. From our first handshake, I realized Todd was going to be my new Technician. He is personable, honest and fair. He has a real appreciation for car projects and is sensitive to the customer’s unique needs and concerns. He has a no-nonsense approach to diagnosing root causes of symptoms. For me, I am pleased to have found someone who owns and understands older Mopars.
Todd is just an all-around class act. *The* most knowledgeable and professional mechanic Ive ever known. He got us fixed up in no time at all. But better -- he provided us with information every step of the way to ensure no big surprises. Our 71 Chevy Malibu looks better than ever, sounds great, and runs like we bought it brand new. I cannot recommend these guys more highly.
I have a much loved 1972 Ninety-Eight Luxury Coupe. She is a long way from a muscle car. She had two prior owners that did a lot of work on her engine, suspension and exhaust themselves. While I admire their bravery, the results were awful. Low power, countless leaks and, as it turns out, numerous bit of baling wire and spit holding things together. Now, she runs like new and I get better gas mileage than anyone in my vintage auto club. There are further improvements to her a/c and interior coming and I look forward to have these as well as regular maintenance done by these great folks. Considering what the car cost and what I am putting into it, I am a great place. A used Camry costs more and hasnt got 10% of the comfort or style.
Great bunch of guys and a galHonest and knowledgeable
Excellent service. Todd took great care of us. Good communicator- did exactly what we asked. Definitely would go back in future:)
Awesome place to take your car. Very professional. Todd is great to work with.
I needed help diagnosing a performance problem with my 67 Gt500. Another local shop pronounced it ok, while it was idling in the drive to his shop Todd said it’s missing cylinder, sure enough a roller lifter had failed and wiped a cam lobe. Since then I’ve had DC&C work on all of my classics and even help me finish my 32Ford for SEMA. Experienced, professional, car-loving and honest -if you want owning a classic car to be the experience you thought it would be look no further.
Helped me find a place to do an allignment for my 67 ford, also suggested some help with the Carb. I will be back for other things soon
I dropped my car off for new front and rear bumpers to be installed, and Todd and his team knocked it out of the park. Incredible quality, fast turn around, and just going above and beyond. The car has never looked this good. Anybody with a classic car who needs work has to come to Dallas Customs & Classics
My Carburetor on my 71 Vette was flooding. Dropped off the carburetor to have rebuilt. 2 days later, carb was ready to go. Picked it up and installed back on the motor when at home. Slight adjustment for idle and shes never run better. Definitely bringing anything for the car back. These guys know classic cars and all that makes them tick.
Great place to go for what your looking for plain n simple
Not to great of a job. over estimate and over then. then when it didnt work two weeks after vintage air install. charged me more to fix what they installed. not a place that seems to stand behind its work.
If you’re looking for a place that will be reasonable with prices and have truly professional work done, this is the spot!
Todd at Dallas Customs and Classics did a great job of rebuilding my Carter AFB for my 62’ Vette. It’s hard to find folks that know what they are doing on old carbs and Todd does. Thank you.C. Edwards
First rate work, reasonable pricing for the knowledge that goes with quality workmanship .
My husband seems very happy with their services, this is the second time hes brought his 1978 TransAm here.
I had my 1961 T-Bird in for Carb work (tri-Carb) and subsequently had Front suspension work done there too The primary Carburetor was working, but the other two were not- the linkage was not adjusted correctly. Since the parts were hard to come by, I supplied the parts, but several things were not installed- the upper and lower spring cushions, the front shock covers and the seat belts. They seemed unfamiliar with the car, but proceeded anyway, the result is the carburetor is running too rich, the timing was not adjusted, which is a must when rebuilding a carburetor..They claim to be restoration shop, but based on my extensive mechanical experience and background I found the work and followup to be mediocre at best, plus it was expensive due to the lack of knowledge of the model car.
