I lived here for a year and a half. This was my first apartment living on my own and I was very impressed by the friendliness of the staff and how they handled the pandemic. I was out of work for a bit and they were very understanding when I had to pay late, there was of course a fee but I was fully prepared for that. I wish I could rate this place 5 stars; however, my main complaint is with the maintenance. There were several occasions where things broke or I needed someone to come out. My oven was broken for a month for example and I filled out the maintenance request online and called their designated number. I realized the main way to get in touch with someone is to call the office during office hours and they’ll send someone out within 48 hours. Parking spaces are ridiculously small. Had trouble parking in my designated covered spot since it was so tight, so ended up just settling on parking outside of my designated spot. My apartment overlooked the creek, which was great during the spring and summer but during the winter it looks disgusting with all the trash. The area is also not exactly the best or the safest. These apartments were nice and affordable; however, I am very glad to be moving out.

I have lived at this apartment going on 4 years now. Not sure where to begin. I moved to Dallas with just the clothes on my back and then I came here to look around. I fell head over heals for the place and made it my new home. The staff have always been very accommodating and will definitely work with you on anything needed. Maintenance responds promptly and I love my neighbors in my building. They have become a family to me and are always helpful to each other. Rent is decent and love having my own covered parking included. The pool and gym is also kept nicely. I look forward to another year of calling it home.

Went on a tour here and decided not to go with the unit. The leasing professional just seemed overly interested in what I do for a living. She kept asking questions trying to pry. Weird experience!

I haven’t been living at Slate for very long but I just feel like they deserve a quick shout out. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. They seem very sincere in wanting you to have the best living experience possible. After only one brief interaction the maintenance crew had remembered both mine and my dog’s name. Overall it has been a wonderful experience so far and I recommend this complex to anyone who is looking!

I have lived here for almost nine months. This has been my best leasing experience so far in the five years I have lived in Dallas. I love the complex and its amenities. The staff is amazing and the maintenance team is the best, not to mention that the price is fair enough. Also, during this Covid-19 period, the administration has been very flexible in terms of rent payment. This speaks highly of its empathy. It is a quiet place to live in and one I would recommend to my friends.

I have lived hear for a little over a year. This is first place i have lived where I really wanted to decorate and make it feel like a home. Other places I new after the first month I was not going to stay. I am very happy here. Maintenance is on point. Office staff a friendly and helpful

Do not move here. Random people go through your apartment when you are not there. The complex participates in criminal activity. You will have mail missing with the management always in your business. The area is in a high crime area. Find another place to move please. If you see high ratings. These people were given something or a contest to put 5 stars. Look at the other ratings. They are low. This place is trash just like management.

My boyfriend and I moved in November 2019 and we love the apartment! The AC and heating work great, parking has never been a problem for us, we like the gated community, and the complex is a nice size. If there was anything Id say I didnt like its that we can sometimes hear a lot of noise from the mechanic place across the street and sometimes loud cars/motorcycles/emergency vehicles drive late at night. I know this is not the fault of Slate though, our apartment faces the street so I know some noise is a given. The staff has always been so helpful, awesome, and great at communicating the one or two times we put in a maintenance request. A lot of stores are conveniently nearby. It is a great place to live!

The worst water quality ever I wouldn’t be surprised if they are recycling water from the pool iron taste and hair falls off quick also wc water comes up and bath tub filled up with nasty water with fecal residues from other place

Ive lived here since July 2020 and I have enjoyed the neighbors, amazing staff, and location! I was able to get the apartment I wanted at a great price during an urgent relocation. The maintenance men have always been kind for the minor fixes/inquiries (third party washer leak and question about my stove). The location is near everything you need and the GWB Toll. I love living here and Im glad everything fell right into place with my move.

They are very fast in response time when it comes to maintance requests. The price for the apartments is good! Tracy in the front office is super sweet! & management is very helpful. The community is always clean and pretty very quite. The pool is very pretty and well maintenance. I’ve been there for two years and love it.

I have been a resident here since 2019. I speak Spanish and know little English. With the new manager Tyrice. He has always been patient, professional and kind to me. I may have put in my notice and canceled at least three times and he would always find another home or sit with me when I could decide for at least 30 minutes sometimes. I love this staff and see what he is doing to keep our community under control. He and the leasing really engage and care and thats why I am still here. Thank you mi hijo.

I have lived at this resident for twenty years. That in itself should tell you, I love being here. It is quiet, peaceful, and I feel really safe. The leasing staff is Awesome. Dana and Traci are always sincere, patient, professional, understanding as well as efficient. Raul and Ryan seem knowledgeable of the jobs and get things done in a timely manner. This has truly been Home, because of people on your staff. I thank all of them from the bottom of my heart!!!

Decent price, decent staff. Overall pretty good. Questionable neighbors though, didn’t feel the safest at all times and my car was broken into aside of a package stolen prior to that incident as well.

I have been in this apartments for many years and after being a good tenant no problems always pay my rent ahead of time in the middle of the pandemic they raised my rent when my lease expired and now we continue with the pandemic and they raised the water rate and the garbage disposal rateI can’t Wait for my lease to expire and move out most of the neighbors in my building they were here for many years already did that she say something

Always willing to help with any questions or issues that arise which have been only once and was resolved within minutes. Just renewed our lease so we are looking to stay for a while.

I have lived here for about 4 years now and I am very satisfied with this place. It is very quiet considering it is near a few schools. The office staff is very friendly and very responsive to requests. The maintenance staff is very helpful and respond very quickly to maintenance requests. The complex is very pet friendly with a park and many pet waste stations. I highly recommend this complex.

I have been living there for almost three years, it is very clean, calm and friendly environment. The staff is great, and very professional. They always answered in a timely manner and I didnt have to ask more than once. The property is always kept clean. Moreover the 24/7 fitness a big plus point. And the best thing about this property is that it has the best management.

I absolutely loved living here! The staff is also great, and very professional. They always answered in a timely manner and I didnt have to ask more than once. The property is always kept clean. The fitness center was a big plus for me because I could use it whenever I wanted. I love the fact that its convenient to everything. Overall I had no issues living here.

Lived here for 18 months. It started off rocky, but over all I didn’t have much problems. They’re trying to clean this complex up & since we have been there they have. I loved our layout & for the price! The maintenance guys are good and the ladies in the front are okay. They do their job the best they can. I would sign again if the prices didn’t go up.

Great apartments to live in, but not Hearing the blower at 8:00 a.m. some of us dont get up that early, And having your car all dusty from blowing the leaves around. And still upset with the lawn company getting my car dirty after I washed it I drive Lyft and uber had to wash it again I wish yall would give heads up when they are coming, cant wait to move from here.

My review is based solely on the leasing staff as I haven’t lived here but the woman who helped me yesterday was an angel and the unit was so adorable and affordable I love that they have it set up so you can see how it will look when you move in. We ultimately decided to just stay where we are in Garland to save for our big move to LA but if we were moving it would be here.

I never do public reviews but in having such a bad experience at this complex, I am now. I cannot wait to move from here. The staff is horrible and rude. They do not care about getting back to you in a timely manner. The biggest issue I had was nothing being done about the people below me smoking weed. The horrible stench would come up and fill my entire place. I have two small children, 4 and 1 years old and I believe they have respiratory issues due to this. I requested to move in to a different unit and they said only if I pay almost $2,000. Being a single mom I dont have that kind of money laying around but they didnt care and were rude about the situation with no concern at all. This is my last week here and I couldnt be more relieved and excited to leave!

They put all this money into making the office look nice and urban, but the complex is nasty and always trashy. They have the first 2 builds looking nice, but the others have trash rings by the doors and they dont blow the hallways or power wash the floors. But it all comes down to you get what you pay for. Will not be renewing my lease here.

This is the worst apartment Ive been living in. 1. They have the worst staffs ever, the lady in the receptionist always looks angry. LOL. 2. The apartment is old and dirty. The hall is super dirty. 3. The gate is stupid. When you open the gate, you better drive fast, otherwise, it will be closed before you pass through. The remote is sold with about $25 but it doesnt work all the times. 4. They dont issue the bill for you every month, if you want to know how much you own them every month, call them. lol. Thats ridiculous. 5. The kitchen cabinet, the sink, the bathtub, the doors, everything thats in the apartment is really, really downgrade. 6. The hot water is broken all the times, especially in the winter. You have to boil the water in order to take a bath. 6. The swimming pool is small and dirty. You can see dead frog inside the swimming pool.Stay away from this apartment!! I just cant wait for the contract to end so I can move to a new one

Dont ever use these apartments as a reference. I lived here in 2015 when it was Springfield and the current apartment I want to move into needed to verify rental history or I would have to pay a full months rent for the deposit. My roommate (mind you) lived in 3 apartments within the same complex and when I called to inquire about returning a call to verify. The acted as if they could not remember anything and therefore could not verify.... not even if I provided them with a copy of the lease with a signature from the girl who answered the phone. This negligence is now going to cost me $500!! Imagine that!! And dont play stupid with your response below. I called the same Leasing Office and Spoke to the same Leasing agent Dayna who still works for the same complex that now has a different name and who created the joint lease for apartment 816, (Upstairs/Corner Unit). My roommate was transferring from #1506. Dayna is the same agent that allowed my roommate to transfer AGAIN to a one bedroom apartment halfway through the lease that WE BOTH SIGNED without saying anything to me about it. (Youre lucky I didnt pursue legal action) & Maybe that is why you cant find the paperwork! I still have a copy of the lease but Dayna seemed to all of the sudden play dumb as if she wouldnt recognize her own signature. Not even willing to look at it. Regardless of the new name- that is SHADY!!

Personally, we had a horrible experience at Springfield Apartments. First, when we got a walk through the place had a strong smell of cigarette smoke. The place was old and poorly maintained, but the price was what we were looking for so we took the place. They cleaned the air. We cleaned the walls and deodorized the place. During that first year we had no major problems. Only a few minor maintenance requests, which were dealt with promptly.It was upon our contract renewal that we started to experience major problems with this place. We had a water pipe burst in our bathroom. They came and quickly took care of the water pipe that burst, and said they would let the drywall and wood dry a few days then come and patch it. It took them a week to come and fix it, which they would have done horribly if I wasnt watching. Their worker tried to get away with not patching the barrier drywall that separated our apartment with the one above us (this area in question was the ac air intake area). I told them no, and to patch it properly. With an aggravated look, he patched it properly. During that same week, we also put in a request for an air conditioning door repair. The access door was rusted and falling apart from all of the water, along with the water from the leaking air conditioner drip pan. It took them a month to replace our door. When they finally came to repair the door, they said that it would take another 30 days to order a new door. I immediately sent the main office a certified letter requesting a replacement air conditioning access door, and what do you know, it showed up exactly 7 days later, which is the cutoff limit for timely repairs according to the Texas attorney general.We then had a problem with our air conditioner. It wasnt running well, and water was coming from the door and the vent close to the air conditioner access door. It took them approximately 7 maintenance requests over approximately a month to finally fix(ish) our air conditioner. First they flushed the drain line, then they tried to get the drain pan back up in the correct spot (I watched the maintenance guy use cardboard for this by the way), then they tried again to fix the drain pan, then they patched the barrier drywall between us and the other apartment (they patched it with cardboard box material by the way. I have pictures to prove it.), then they replaced the blower (It took them two trips over a few days for this because the first guy installed it backwards), then they cleaned the ac unit, and finally they flushed the duct work since it was smelling like mildew from all of the water leakage. The air conditioning got to a tolerable running rate, but never ran the way it did before.To top it all off, after move out, they hit us with the most ridiculous early move out rate along with charges for things that were normal wear and tear and a forfeiture of our deposit because we broke contract (never mind all of the times they broke contract when they didnt repair our apartment in a timely manner). So, almost $2000 dollars on move out fees, and they still say they are keeping all of our deposit money. In their letter, they tried to make it sound like they were doing us a favor by not charging us any more money.The attitude of the office staff doesnt help things either. They are kind to you in person, but dont give a hoot once you walk out the door. I remember listening to one of their office staff talk about one of their tenants in a rude way over their walkie-talkie system to the maintenance staff. She complained about a tenant sending in frequent maintenance requests for the air conditioner when it wasnt hot outside (temp was in the 70s).My personal opinion, I wouldnt send my worst enemy to this apartment complex. I would personally avoid it at all costs. If you are already there, you have my deepest sympathies. Send in maintenance requests via certified letter, and keep photo and video records of everything. I always try and give businesses the benefit of the doubt (we are all human), but they lost all of my trust.
