This community has some of the best office staff that i’ve ever dealt with in my years of apartment renting. Anything you need they will see it through, and since the pandemic they make sure to keep good communication and make themselves readily available. Ive personally had communication with Monica since the day I came in to get pricing, and I know that I can reach out to her directly if I need anything at all. The only reason I rate 4 stars is because because parking spots can be sparse sometimes if you work nights like I do, but that is due to the location of the property. Overall I like living here and I like the convenient location. I feel safe here, and the staff seems to really care about the community. I definitely plan on staying a while.

So unhappy about having to update and edit my review. Currently going on 2 years living here and Ive switched apartments due my own personal needs and they have always been more than helpful. Unfortunately this last time that I have moved have noticed and increasing amount of bugs and not just bugs, roaches, everywhere. After putting in many work orders and talking to staff about the issue, I was told they would come in and have pest control spray. Not once have they showed up. So I have resulted to spraying with home products. I have sprayed poison inside and out and still cant seem to find where they are coming from, and with no luck still have not received response from office. Its embarrassing to have company over and have to explain why I still have roaches. Its heartbreaking honestly to never having roaches to now not being able to escape them.

Drove over to the complex twice because I was told an apartment was available.I get there and Im told its been leased and let me mention that I stay over 30 minutes away. I can understand one time if the system didnt update but twice NO!! My leasing agent lacked hospitality, and just didnt seem to know what she was doing she kept having to ask another leasing agent Alyssa questions. To make matters worse she forgot to give me back my ID after the tour and didnt even call me to let me know! I had to call her and the response I got was Yes I have it I forgot to give it to you. Im a black woman and I not accusing but the whole experience seemed discriminatory and a bit RASCIST. If I had this much confusion prior to living here I cant imagine what it world would be like trying to get something done. Take heed people!

Our experience here was HORRIBLE. The first night we stayed there were discovered our apartment was infested with roaches (like roaches everywhere). It was disgusting. We had frequent water issues (e.g., pipes bursting). When they would finally make it out to fix the issue theyd leave the ceiling unpatched or drawers missing. By the time we left, the restroom was a disaster from their patchwork. The parking lot had huge pot holes that resulted in $1800 worth of damage on my husbands vehicle, which of course they were not responsible for. Parking can also be scarce. The property could also use a space for children to play. It was so scary to drive through the knowing a child would likely run out into street out of nowhere. We lived there 3 years. So happy that experience is over.

One star because the apartment itself is actually a nice apartment. However this is the worst apartment experience of my life. Do not move here. If you work 9am-5pm and are in bed by 7pm you should have a relatively positive experience here. If you work after 10pm or have a life of any kind find somewhere else to live. I currently live here and I have spent so many nights driving around the parking lot looking for parking. Tonight I spent 2 hours looking and still have not found anything. It is 3 am and I want to be in bed. But here I am not allowed to go inside because there is no parking. I have had this happen at least 5 times to me. Do you know what its like to come home from a long day and then have to drive around and wait in your car to just have to wait til somebody leaves. It is absolutely unsafe for me to be out here. I can not believe this. I have even let the apartments know and nobody has done a thing or responded to me. Tonight there are 4 other cars driving around doing the same thing. So that means we have to wait til 4 people leave. Who knows how long I will be out here just tonight and I still have 4 months left here in hell. As soon as my lease is up I am gone. For your sanity do not move here.

I actually really enjoy living at this complex although I have some concerns like anyone. When I first came to Dallas, I was shocked by how unsafe I felt. This complex does make me feel safer because of the fence and its secluded. There is also a courtesy patrol officer who makes rounds at night which is very comforting. Maintenance is very quick to respond, although sometimes it takes them about 2-3 times before it’s fixed completely they are always willing to come out and help. I really love the layout of my unit and generally I have positive interactions with the office staff. Occasionally I’ve had issue with some of the wording of notes that were attached to the doors, but its nothing to take personally. Everyone has a job to do. Compared to other Dallas Apartments, this is by far one of the better ones.

Honestly, I really cannot understand the low rating of this complex, though Im of the opinion that many of the problems people have had are either self-inflicted, trivial, or beyond the staffs control. My girlfriend and I moved in a few weeks ago, and we are both extremely pleased with our new home.Being objective, there were a few things we were displeased with at the start, but these things were handled by the staff very, very promptly. After submitting a maintenance request one morning, we returned from work in the late afternoon to find the work entirely completed--a great and welcome surprise in the face of the standing reviews. Our only real complaint has to do with the fitness center, which has open hours that are almost comical, 8am-6pm. Ridiculous for anyone who works during the day. Thats where they lose a star.Otherwise, we love the area. Large trees line the complex, and the whole thing has a very cozy vibe. Staff has been attentive and accountable, and our apartment looks exactly as described. In all, we are more than content. If youre looking for your apartment, do yourself a favor and at least check this place out. Theyve done right by us.Edit:After having lived here nearly a year, there is one other complaint that comes to mind. The office has often been unable to find our packages. Only after showing a delivery confirmation will they then return to the back, then actually finding the package which was, in fact, delivered. This has not only happened with small items, but very large boxes (one of which was half crushed). The system they have is likely a tad unorganized. In all, it hasnt been all that troublesome, but it is something that may be due some attention on the part of the staff, who otherwise do a great job in general.

My personal experience at Huntington Lakes Apartment has been excellent this for. The staff have been nothing less than professional and courteous! Due to a lay off in February, Ive been late paying rent while using resources out here to help. They have worked with me, been patient with me and been gracious to me. Almost got evicted but they still worked with me!! I love where I live and cant see myself having to move due to eviction, but God through the staff here favoured me and am able to stay. Its how you approach people and handle adverse situations that makes the difference in the Kind of help you receive. You cant go with a sense of entitlement, even if you are. With apartment living, you have to remember that the one you move in, someone else just moved out, and someone before them. They over charge you when it’s time to move out, will try to rob you on fees. Plus now you can only pay through money gram which in about a 4 dollar fee or through the website app which rarely works. Today, I went online and submitted an application to lease. I drove to the property to verify if the actual apartment complex, and the apartment 1503 was as it appears on the website. Sadly, I was met with a taste of confusion and dishonesty. Initially I was told that there was nothing available even though the online system allowed me to reserve #1503 and in fact charged my c/c: I advised the leasing agent of this and that I asked, and was provided, the information to the district manager: As I was leaving, Im advised that there was confusion about availability and that 1503 was in fact ready to show. To my dismay, all of the comments posted here has validity: The apartment has curb appeal upon drive by but as soon as you get beyond the leasing office everything changes, the breezeway was filthy and need to be power-washed, people are using their balconies as storage facilities without walls, the inside although decent, was old and worn and the defining moment was opening the cabinet below the kitchen sink and seeing a roach, I do commend them for the fact that it was dead: Unfortunately, Ive found in my search that if you see them live or dead that means an infestation exist and moving in furniture and food is welcoming them as house-guest so after careful consideration of all mentioned, I am going to keep looking.

This place looks good on the outside but once you get locked in there are not helpful whatsoever. Please go someplace else and leave this apartment complex alone.I love my apartment here and its relatively quiet however I am not pleased at all with the parking situation.I work until 12 midnight and most times when I come home I have no where to park. Ive spent countless hours driving around the apt complex, sitting in my car trying to find a park only to realize there are multiple cars doing the same thing. On several occasions I have not even stayed at home due to not having a parking space. Complained to the office about this but thats no help at all. This apt is not for someone who works a schedule that gets off after 9 pm. Office staff are ok but very limited in what they can do.

I moved into this place a year and at first i was happy with the space we were living in. I like it was near a bus and train station even close to my job. But we started noticing roaches. The office sent pest control but more and more roaches kept showing up. The lights wouldnt come on at times so you have to wait a few minutes or hours to get the lights running. The maintenance are amazing. They work with you its just the apartments are old. They need to bomb for roaches. Our bath tub paint started chipping out of no where and i dont think theres no way to fix it unless a new tub is put in. Even the mailboxes are screaming for help. Some lock some dont. I always push peoples mailboxes close so no one will take their mail. Our front door at the top lets the sun in. When theyre blowing the leafs they come in. The windows when you pull them up it depends if they want to come down or its jammed. The carpet lifts up its not fully put down. Every apartment has water damage or cracks. Over all the apartment isnt worth what your paying to me. Yes you will see five stars cool but Im giving it two stars because i started being disspointed every time. I cleaned like bleached, pinesol the entire apartment and the roaches still came. The pest control didnt really spray the kitchen they just walked around it but sprayed the bathroom when the kitchen had tons of them. The garbage will over fill and will not be dumped because the garbage truck wouldnt show so maintenance had to pick up everyones trash that they left on the side or in the road just so there wasnt so much clutter. The office has their days. Everyone doesnt like to work so i get when they dont want to deal with people but when we got approved we had to move in that day it was available if we didnt we wouldve lost it. When me and my roommates were at work at least one of us had to rush to give them our payments if we didnt we wouldve lost it. They lost applications and when we went to tell them where the person we gave it to left them they found them. When we signed our lease only two of us showed up due to the others having to work and they told us we couldnt get the keys untill everyone signed (which they gave our roomate the keys after he signed when we still had one more person to sign after being told we couldnt get them yet.). They only gave us one mail key and two house keys but four gate keys. Four people are living in a 2 bedroom apartment (which is a master and a study) with two keys. So we had to make copies. So in other notes it seems theyre communication isnt really that great with each other. The thing i will miss about this apartment because Im leaving this October is the built in bookcase, the walk on the bridge when Im going or getting back from work and the view of the clouds and moon.So to end my first apartment i was disappointed cause i was happy to find out we were approved but just to realize i didnt want to live here anymore after 7 months.

The gym they say it’s a state of the art facility, but I wouldn’t call that a gym. Majority of the remaining old staff are rude and don’t bother explaining you anything. Just short answers. I would not recommend this complex to anyone. You have to repeatedly ask for work orders to be complete. I had to call the corporate office just to get the work orders complete in my apartment. Plus I am super clean and have been dealing with a roach issue for weeks that they have not been able to solve. I called to speak with the manager and she was busy (as always). I prefer email communication because I like to have things in writing but the corporate office told me that they do not communicate with residents through email because it is not secure. Beware of this apt! If I could give a negative star rating I would! So many issues. Took a few months of pesticide spray before all cockroaches were gone. While living there for a year in 2017/18 I witnessed three men in masks breaking into cars because front gate NEVER works for more than a week straight. Someone tried to break into my neighbors apt in the night but luckily her dogs scared them off. Another woman was held up at gunpoint at the mail boxes. Definetly not safe especially for women. When we went to tell them about the cars they denied any cars even being broken into the night before because there was a potential client in the office. My wife and I had issues with the water either being boiling hot or freeezing cold for months and after 20+ maintenance request and a threat of city code they finally got it fixed. And be ready to be charged for anything under the sun when you move out even if you have maintenance receipts stating how it was when you moved in! So many more issues to even name.. just read all the 1 star comments before moving in.

So I’m typing this message from my phone because my laptop was stolen when my apartment got robbed this weekend. This complaint isn’t so much about how I was robbed but the response given by the management: yep, I’m talking about you Brad. Upon meeting with management to discuss the break in I was received pretty poorly. It felt like I was burdening this guy with my “problem” and was getting no feed back or reassurance that the complex was actively trying to prevent future occurrences. I asked if there was anything that could be done to reinforce the locks that were broken and was told “We can replace the locks that were there.” To which I said, “But those obviously weren’t affective?” And he said, “well I’ve kicked down doors before and it won’t make a difference”. Okay, while that might be true, that is NOT how you relay information to a customer. I would have been okay with him saying they would look into it or something. But his response was super sassy (I know sass. He was being shady) and not at all how a manager should handle this type of situation. All I wanted was for him to say “We will do the best we can to make sure this type of event doesn’t happen again”, but I got no urgency. I had to ask multiple times for the door to be fixed by today (the third day it’s been broken). I asked about lights that were out in the area to be replaced and was told they would get to it eventually. It was an awkward conversation where I fell like my concerns weren’t being taken seriously. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE. Why am I paying to live somewhere where my safety isn’t a priority? Why should you move here fellow apartment dwellers looking for a place to call home? Answer: You Shouldn’t.Other complaints below:-Paper thin walls. You can hear everything.-Good luck putting curtains or pictures up on the wall. You can’t.-packages get stolen-visitors parking is stupid.-regular parking is horrible.-there is always construction that yields poor results.-Crappy AC units-Bad Lighting-No security footage-If you breath wrong you will get towed.-bugs-dog poop everywhere.-noisy neighbors-broken front gates (80% of the time I’ve lived here)-Monica in the front office is super rude. The other people there are actually very sweet.-Pools are either closed or gross-the gym is nothing and has the worst hours.-NOT SAFE.I could probably find more faults with this place, but I think the list is enough to not live here. Thanks for reading. Maybe management will actually care after reading this.

I never write Reviews...or pay attention to them. For you skeptics out there like me PLEASE take these reviews seriously, they are ALL true. I have lived here for 4 months. I waited to write a review b/c I was trying to give them a chance and not review with anger. In my short spell of living here my apartment was NOT ready for move in. It took maintenance close to a month to actually get my apartment in living conditions. My refrigerator did not work and had to be replaced (after 6 calls). Management does not care about your situation or the district manager over these apartments. I manage a private practice therefore I knew who to call and was given no response. It is dangerous as well. I have been attacked by a pit that was NOT on a leash and are not suppose to be allowed on property. Not to mention the armed robbery that happened at the mailbox. It amazes me how one place can have such bad reviews and nothing changes. The staff is rude, management is not helpful BUT this review can be! Save your money and do not waste your time. (Which previous complexs Ive rented from in the past didnt even look as half as great on the outside as this complex does) but has the WORSE bug problem Ive ever seen.... On top of that the people in the main office doesnt seem happy & the main manager is very condescending. If youre thinking about moving here think twice; especially if youre looking at the complex on the outside (which can be VERY deceiving) because the inside of the apartments isnt worth it AT ALL...!! my opinion, take your business and money elsewhere youll be ALOT more satisfied. First month free, and at 649.00, I thought hey couldnt be that bad since some people live here, I will just stay away from office staff as much as possible unless I have a problem or paying rent. That was my thought since so many reviews talked badly about office staff. Well now I see why. There so much wrong with this place. Theres mold in my cabinets, mold in my bathroom just everywhere. Theres always something leaking either from the floor or the ceiling! For a place to live at $730.00 monthly this is pure ridiculousness!!! My first place where in Dallas and Im not impressed. At first, it was really horrible because of that rude, raciest, unfriendly staff. After a few months we moved, I did not see her anymore. Then, it become a nice place to live. It is quite, clean most of the time. I could not give 5 star because there is no place to play for the kid and the parking availability is suck. I think that if they made a playground of kids near by the bridge, that will e great for family. Most of the maintainers are very friendly, helpful. It is sad that we have to move out in a few weeks because of unexpected school program.

How can you pay down your deposit for an apt to take it off the market, along with the price, a month before moving in, to have Monica would tell us that the deposit only to takes the Apt off the market but not secure the monthly rent of 854 that we Got it for saying the rent goes up weekly. There are no signs, or fine print any where on their website stating that prices are subject to change after you put your deposit down. Who does that... A week before moving in the rent went up to 879 because we have to pay for the damages that the last tenant and his dog did. You guys are crazy and perpetuating False Advertisement. We HAVE yet to receive a call from Brad and tomorrow is the move in date. Dont RENT From THEM...till today we never rent from them.

This is a terrible place to rent from. I wish I had went somewhere else. They look great on the outside and they make look good on the inside, that is until you move in. Right from the beginning I had problems with my apartment . From the shower leaking into the downstairs apartments.Construction men coming into my apartment anytime they wanted to. I dont feel safe because of it. Brad Richter is the community manager, he is very rude and disrespectful with tenant. I dont recommend no body to move to Huntington Lakes apartment on skillman.

I just signed another lease and I have ALWAYS lived in apartments. There are always going to be disrespectful neighbors in apartments whether it be with animal care, garbage pick up, or broken gates. I have never experienced a better staff for communicating ongoing projects or for handling work to be done. Almost every weekend someone visits and breaks the gate. It is then repaired almost immediately. There are mainenance staff on property for any repair issues. They are rotated with 24 hour on call maintenance. You will find a bug here and there because apartments house untidy individuals that attract them so keep clean and it will not be an issue. If you want to be a slob, then apartments are not the lifestyle for you if you dislike bugs. Parking spaces are small but I know how to park so I have never had an issue. Simply be careful. There are also larger spaces for parking if you dont mind walking a little further. I live in the more private side of the complex with only a few buildings, whereas the other side of the apartments house about 20 buildings. I cannot speak for that side of the complex but utility workers have informed me that they are older than mine and have more issues because they do not upgrade apartments until tenants move out. I pay a little more for an updated apartment. You truly get what you pay for in apartment living. There are some tenants who have lived here for almost 20 years. This may be only my experience but I have realistic expectations living in urban apartments and have been very happy here. The neighbors are friendly enough and plenty of them have animals that seem happy enough. I wanted to take the time to review because so many times we forget to review a positive experience but always review terrible ones. My experience has been pleasant!

The location is nice and its decently quiet. However it takes a ridiculously long time (for past issues it has been at least a month) for maintenance to come unless you call during work hours and have a major issue. Its awfully expensive for a dingy little place.Ive replaced (out of my own pocket) cupboard hinges, repainted so they didnt look so yellowish since scrubbing doesnt work, recaulked the moldy shower since bleaching didnt work, and replaced the toilet seat.

Seriously DONT rent here!! Learn from me! The first 7 months of our year lease we had water issues. I either had freezing cold showers or boiling hot, there was no in between. I got blisters from the hot water! I made about 30 repair requests and every time the maintenance man came he said I’m sorry there’s nothing I can do because the management doesn’t want to pay what it costs to truly fix the issue. I even stated this to the apt and they denied it until I finally had enough and threatened them with city code inspectors. They finally bought the part to regulate the water. Next issue was when I moved in I filed a complaint on the smell of animal urine on the carpet. They denied it and said it was brand new. So when it came time to move out after the year they charged me for carpet treatment and removal!!! Also sent me a bill for 500+$ to collections! I called and complained and had them read the maintenance requests from move in and they took do 100$ for carpet treatment fee because I had proof YET STILL CHARGED me for the carpet removal!!!!! It was ridiculous! I called and complained many times asking for a manager but they wrte always busy and would get back to me. Never happened! Finally I got ahold of some property manager who Pretty much said tough luck it’s in collections already! This was less than 2 months after I moved out by the way! Anyways don’t move here! And if you do please print your repair requests and keep them!

I resided at this residence for around 13 months in total. I would not recommend this apartment to anyone I know for the following reasons. Apartments are put together in a very low quality, IE: OSB boards in kitchen are waterlogged as well as the drawers in the kitchen, and both bathrooms. Cockroaches were a serious problem in which I have paid out of pocket at my new apartment to finally exterminate the pest, both German and American roaches are at Huntington lakes and are nested from behind the drywall and in the attic. Of course I can only speak to the apartments sided with the creek as there were 4 other units treated along with mine. Office staff were rude consistently and on day of move repairs were started on the balcony and the workers bolted wood to the patio door which left me with leaving a $1,000 leather couch behind. Unless this apartment gets a complete over haul and is sold to another management company who can run an honest business which is highly unlikely, I would not recommend this apartment to stay.

I have lived in the Huntington Lakes Apartments for over 13 months now and will give a full review of my experience. So let me first tell you about the office staff. They obviously do not communicate with one another. When you walk into the office you have to stand around and just wait for someone to finally acknowledge you. Unless you are in there to sign a new lease, they could care less why you are there. They are open on Saturday, but they cant get anything done on this day because the office manager is off, this includes getting a parking pass for a friend or trying to get a copy made of a key. Overall, the staff is just rude; they could care less about their tenants. The complex is not well maintained; there is always trash outside the apartment common grounds, covered in ants and various other small bugs. Did I mention they make you pay an additional fee for pest control, and yet I have only seen them come spray once in the past year. Also, there has been plenty of times that the dumpster has overflowed with trash. Want to call a place like this home? I am actually embarrassed to invite over family and friends. My attempt at getting a maintenance repair took over a month. I had a shelf in my closet fall taking over a large portion of my closet space, when I asked why it was taking so long I was rudely informed that my issue was not a priority due to failed A/C units on the other side of the complex. You will quickly find that most of your neighbors do not respect those who live in the community and management does nothing to stop the issues. Loud music blasting from car stereos and loud people outside will be happy to greet you when you come home from work, and often when your trying to sleep at 11pm on weeknights. There has been many instances where I have seen a homeless man digging through the dumpster. He hides behind it and you can hear him going through the bags. Also, last summer the pool was non functional and had not been cleaned. I havent been back since, it was disgusting.Another notable annoyance to mention: This complex offers a community gym, however it is only open Monday through Saturday and closes at 5pm... Im not sure about you, but that makes it impossible for people who have a job to go to the gym. After mentioning it to the office staff, they told me I should just go across the street and join LA Fitness.Although Ive had substantial issues with maintenance and communication with the office staff, I actually attempted to renew my lease to save myself from the hassle of moving. Instead after dealing with the unprofessional Property Director Named Joy Morris as of 5/27/14, I have put in my 60 day notice and cannot wait to leave!I am writing this review in an effort to save anyone from having to deal with what I have been though in the last 13 monthsDO NOT RENT HERE!Review update:July 21, 2014I was followed by a homeless man when I got home in the morning. I parked my car out by the office since there was no parking spots available, and there was a homeless man in a bright orange shirt with a backpack, who approached my vehicle. I turned around and went to look for another parking spot, and he came from the back and approached my car once again. I had to drive off immediately and call 911.July 22, 2014I had a notice on my door that said I did not pay my dog rent. I immediately called the office and talked to Jeanette (assistant manager) and after putting me on hold and trying to figure out why I got this notice, she told me that their system was incorrect and that yes, I did pay. Of course I got no apology from her about them sending me a rude letter with a bill to pay for something I have never missed a payment on. I will post a copy for you to see.

This was the worst, most disgusting place I have ever lived. Ive never written a bad review online before... mostly because I never have the time with three kids there are other more important things to do. But I want to warn anyone who might potentially move here to not do it. I chose this place for the slightly lower rent and the first months rent for $199. I regretted it the first week that I moved there. Things started falling apart one right after the other and dont even bother trying to reach maintenance. You have to constantly hound them to fix anything. I was actually told once that my request was not a priority and they would get to it. Everything started going down hill and a new thing broke every month. It started being overrun by cockroaches a few months in and they came out multiple times to spray but still never got rid of them. The last few months I was killing at least 3-4 cockroaches per day. The maintenance guys lost the key to my apartment multiple times and said thats the reason they couldnt fix some of my requests issues. They never left a note that theyd been there or tried to come in or when anything was fixed. I used to live at the Village but they raised the rent a couple hundred a month and maintenance at the Village left a note for everything and all my requests were responded to or fixed within 1-3 days. The a/c went out multiple times over the course of my year lease and each time it took at least a month for it to finally be fixed. Even Fixed it felt 10 degrees hotter than the thermostat said it was. The a/c unit in the apartment would leak into the bathtub and it looks like black mold was growing in the vents near the leak, but the maintenance guy tried to tell me that it was just dirt. Even though all the other vents were clean. My second child (18 months old) was constantly sick for the last 8 weeks we were there which was when I started noticing the non-mold. After a week at my new place he hasnt been sick and no runny nose. They finally did repaint the outside of the apartment, but they painted over all the dirt and mold/rottenness in the wood and didnt even fix anything. Just hid all the nastiness. There was rust on my back door so bad that it ate through the metal. I put it on my move-in sheet and asked them multiple times to fix and its still there rusted and ready for someone to cut their finger on an edge. I felt like I was stuck in a unmaintained awful motel counting down the days until my lease was over. Stay away, do not be lured by a free first month, just stay away.

WARNING: Once you pay your deposit and rent dont expect any help from management. The underlings have no authority from higher up to help you with anything or make any accommodation for property defects. Instead of providing you with a lit walkway to the Lake Highlands Dart Station which is literally 50 yards away, they have welded up the gate shut so that in order to use DART you must walk over a mile around the complex. You have to go out to the street entrance all the way around the entire complex and enter from Skillman Street. That is just a taste of what they think of their renters and how they will treat you. Also, they just allow garbage to pile up until overflowing. Not once in a while but as a pattern. I would give them a lower rating but their is no half or zero star.

I dont understand why the ratings are so low for these apts. Ive been here two years and its not that bad. Its in a decent neighborhood near a train station and there are stores in walking distance. Maintenance comes at a timely manner and any other issues I have usually get resolved. My only negative is THE PARKING! I have a disabled parking plate and there are vehicles without tags in the spot every night. I have to park across the street at CVS quite often. It really grinds my gears because I pay rent every month to have to walk across the street to my apt (which is on the third floor) because of no parking. The parking is very frustrating my lease is up very soon and im definitely moving for that reason alone. 😭

Ive lived here for 7 months.. What had sold me on the property first was the office personnel at the time (Lorenzo W.), who now is manager(Congratulations!!), was soo friendly and helpful! I had explained my urgency in needing residency asap, and he worked with me to eliminate my anxiety during the process, and he was a champion to me in resolving it; Thanks Lorenzo! The apartment is clean, roomy, and maintenance completes my request in a timely manner when needed. I have a older apt, but no complaints in functionality (other than the squirrels at time, surrounded by trees). I did view previous photo issues listed, BUT I do NOT have any of those issues with my apt, and I have a older unit. You cant beat the price for square footage offered (when available) either!Pros: Very quiet for such a large community; no riff-raff incidents.. grounds are well kept..maintenance request are timely...DART Rail /Bus Station is conveniently located next to the community... shopping, businesses are less than 2 - 5 mins away....More square footage for your buck (*also has a very attractive fireplace unit in apts!).Always have treats in the office for guest/residents!Cons: They do NOT have a functional wi-fi center; They do have a lot of residences, so trash pick could be increased more times weekly...I would rent again (if I needed to) because of the square footage for the buck!

My experience living here has been good! After I signed my lease and moved in last year I decided to read the reviews and I freaked out because of all the bad comments and ratings. But Ive never had a problem or any bad experiences so far. The maintenance is great, when something breaks and needs fixing they always make sure it gets done as soon as possible. I understand they are busy and have alot of work orders to fix. The one thing that does bother me is the pool during the summer, it could use better cleaning maintenance. As well as with the trash, the dumpsters are always overflowing and it smells and looks bad in the complex. But overall I have enjoyed my stay here so far.

DO NOT BE DECEIVED BY THIS COMPLEX! From the outside they seem very nice but PLEASE take the time to drive around within the apartments. Graffiti on some dumpsters. Residents working on their vehicles in the parking lot. Also, residents hoarding personal property in their baclonies. Not well maintained all around. I moved in today and the unit was FILTHY! The bathroom floor was flooded due to the toilet leaking. Carpet was dirty and not vacuumed before moving in. The counter tops and sinks were extremely dirty. There was cigarette butts in the balcony. Horrible odor within the unit. I called Monica to complain while I was still in the unit and her response was Im sending the maintenance guy to fix the toilet leak. She also said that the cleaning lady will go on Monday to clean since she didnt work on the weekend. I asked her if she inspected the unit before I signed the lease and she said yes. I told her NOBODY IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULDVE APPROVED A NEW RESIDENT TO MOVE UNDER THESE CONDITIONS. Monica and another leasing agent were giggling in the background after I said that. Immediately I told her I wasnt going to be living there and demanded all of my money back. She stated that I wasnt able to cancel since I just signed the contract and her manager wasnt available. She continued by saying that she can only text her manager. Again, I demanded for her to call her manager and to call me back when she answered. I went back to the office to return all of the items she had just gave me 15 minutes before. When I returned she said her manager didnt answer and that shell call me on Monday to follow up. I demanded her to keep calling until she answered because I wasnt going to be living there. She walked back to her office as I patiently waited for her. Also, there was a family inquiring about a unit with the other leasing agent. When the family was walking out, I advised them NOT to move in and explained my first 15 minutes of moving in and there horrible service. Finally she returned all of my money orders and made me sign a copy of the money orders confirming they were returned. She had a snobby attitude when all of my bad experience was entirely on her. DO NOT MOVE TO THESE APARTMENTS. WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. HATED IT!

This is a copy of a note sent to the office, problem not yet addressed. Two months ago my wife and I came to the office asking for something to be done about the one-inch layer of mold inside our A/C heater ducts. We were told by the supervisor that the matter was not mold, but dirt. Pedro came down to clean out the ducts, but simply sprayed a squirt bottle on the ceiling and washed the vent covers in our sinks. Twice, willing to pay with our own money, we have had duct cleaners come out, each reputable company refusing to get near the dust/mold matter, because they did not deal with mold. We were told that if we paid the approx. $2000.00 amount to have the dirt tested and it came back as mold, that the apartments would pay to clean out the ducts. Obviously, that is a lot of money to invest in someone elses property, when we already own another home. We were told that we could switch apartments if we agreed at that time to sign another lease. My wife and child moved out of the apartment for Christmas, and we were told that the only apartment coming up available was one on the first floor whose balcony backed up to the parking lot. Considering that the balcony doors are installed with the hinges outside, making it easy to remove the door from the outside, we opted against that apartment. Also, several times we have seen grown men urinating in public in that parking lot, and it is certainly not something we want our young daughter to see, while sipping a lemonade on a sunny day. However, to our surprise two new tenants moved into #2108, across the hallway and on the same floor as our apartment. This would obviously have been a wonderful apartment for us to switch to, since it is only a few steps from our door, and we could do the moving ourselves. I have to assume that this apartment was on hold for more than a month with a deposit, or that you know that it also has a mold problem, and that we would have immediately checked the vents before accepting. Interestingly enough, we were also told that there were still no apartments available for next month .xcept first floor apartments, just a few days before the apartment directly above us was cleaned out for a new renter, and the carpets removed, thrown over the balcony, and new carpets hammered in for hours. Did you think we would not notice? My wife, although not being on the lease, has a legal right to live with her husband. Her health has been seriously affected as noted by her doctor. She has been unable to work at her chosen profession, attorney. If we find that the mold is toxic, the extant amount is so thick, it would be assumed that it was pre-existing. It seems that once you get someone on the lease, they stop being a valued customer, and get the reject apartments. It appears you may be at least guilty of negligence, if not a criminal violation. Luckily one of our friends at church works for the EPA. Please explain to us why we were not offered apartment 2108 or apt 2115. Be assured we will let them know about the mold/dust problem.I have lived here for 5 years as a single man on the third floor in a one bedroom apartment. When moved to the 2 bedroom on the second floor we had problems that have been ignored and diminished. I will move as soon as they let us.

Today was my sisters last day at these apartments and I felt like I have a social obligation to share with others my experience with these apartments over the entire year that she resided.Overall the worst ordeal is dealing with the office staff. They are, to put it in the nicest words, a bunch of idiots. I dont know where corporate finds these people. Craigslist maybe? On more than one occasion I would see pointless arguing between Joy Morris and my sister. That is one lady to stay away from at all costs. She will carry a one-sided argument until your ears fall off. Unfortunately she is the manager so her employees follow her rudeness as if its okay/normal to treat good tenants with such disrespect. What a shame. This place would probably improve tremendously with her absence.Every time I came to visit my big sis (which is very often) I noticed how awful the property smelled. I live in Addison Circle and have never had any unique smells throughout my years there. When I approached my sister she pointed out all the trash that lays out in the parking lot. I am assuming this is due to some raccoons, which I have heard are very friendly creatures and technically mammals. I have also noticed several ant piles all around her building and the funny part about this is that tenants are charged extra for pest services! In reality, that have sprayed one time and the entire year! Hmm seems like some greedy people if you ask me.This entire complex is very dark and bleak. There is not much lighting. My sisters building was near the front (thank god) the back of the apartments are a place where you do not want to wonder, if you catch my drift.Theres a homeless man that comes around and collects cans in the dumpsters. Apparently the office staff is not only aware of this but allows him to carry on, which is okay, He is very nice, but dont try to talk to him as he is deaf (bless his heart). We have confirmed this with an officer when we had an encounter with him.Another thing that annoys me about these apartments is that the gym closes early. My sister, like most americans, work a 9-5 schedule. Having a gym on-site is great because of the convenience but no so great when it closes at 5! Come on, at least stay open until 7pm! Its not like there is staff there.Folks, do yourself a favor. Avoid a year long headache. Stay away from Huntington Lakes. Even if the rent was cut in half we wouldnt want to live here (which they may be doing soon with all of these terrible reviews). If you do end up moving here you better be sleeping with management to ever get anything done.

The yelling and pounding of music goes on for hours. 11pm? people are trying to sleep so they can give their all at work. Not enough lights outside to see what might be lurking around the corner, due to the gates always open and pretty much anyone who wants to come in waits for someone who actually lives here to get in.Ive only lived here 3 months, the move in started off awful and the new carpet they put in, occasionally you can still smell the cat urine that was obviously soaked into the wood underneath. Yikes!I understand the price point gets you what you pay for, but even for an old unit I expect at least to have a fully functioning unit. I never saw my actual apartment, only a model. Albeit typical, it proved auitr frustrating on my proposed move in date (which I actually post-poned) when my unit was still not clean, or ready for move in. After it was ready I still found cigarette butts in my closet, gum under the bar top, old seasoning in the pantry from the previous tenant, dirt on the refrigerator, and old glue and tacks, and sticks from the previous tenant wall hangings. They never painted, there is a sulphuric odor that permeates the kitchen and living room when it gets warm and I suspect it may be from a leaky pipe hidden in the wall. The AC went out a week into our stay during a triple digit weekend, and the maintenance staff although timely are not nearly qualified to fix anything! They had to disconnect my stove breaker to run the AC, and when they came into fix it they left a hammer and duct tape in my kitchen. They seem to be genuine about wanting to fix things ask g as its quick and cheap. The biggest concern Ive complained about multiple times are the floor boards coming up near the shower. It caused glue to seap through the cracks for weeks and each time they came, they never allowed time for the glue to dry, or didnt use the right kind. I expressed my concerns about water collecting underneath this loose board and causing mold, but they just re glued it and expecting me to avoid the area (where I shower daily) so that it would dry. Once it dried, the floor board laminate wood piece still lifted up and water pools there all the time!!!! Not sure how to change things, I appear to be stuck. I may very well fix what I can on my own and excercise Texas tenant rights to recoup any monies Im out to fix these items properly.

They have exercise room but close at 5pm, the only time you would use it to work out. People work from 9 to 5 so this is useless.g. Parking is always a hassle, if you come in after 6pm youll walk from visitor parking if you can find any. The sidewalks and driveways are usually full of debris dirt and muck.If you rent here you have only yourself to blame. They refuse to make a walkway towards the station. Only way is residents walk all the way around the entire complex. From complete circle to go to and from the station. That takes over 20min walk when the station could have a gate as its only 40 yards away from the Apt fence. But they will come up with excuses, saftey bs. when they could have a keyed gate or card gate with a camera for what 110.00. I just wanted to tell the people that are considering to move here, DONT. Like I know you think that the people who give low stars are just bitter or mad just because but listen to me, this place is so trash. Its nothing put crack headed and drug dealers. Its honestly no place to raise a family or no place to live alone. Now, Ive lived in downtown appts, so Ive seen some crazy apartments but this one takes the cake. The management is so rude; they change management like you change underwear and the apartments are ok but its seriously roach infested. This place sucks. The management sucks. Literally hated this place
