I’ve been going to a larger chain nail salon for a while, but decided to try Van Nails today. I couldn’t be happier.It’s a smaller shop, but very clean, which is what I was looking for. Getting to the shop and parking are easy. They’re busy enough to feel confident that they have return customers, but not so busy that it made me anxious.I didn’t have to wait at all to see Mary, and she did an amazing job on a set of dipped nails. She’s a great conversationalist, and the time flew by. After one visit, I’ve decided that I finally found my new nail salon.

Very clean. Very safe. Van Nails Salon in Columbia is my place to go for years. They cleaned everything right after my pedicure and manicure. They even measured temperature, guide step by step safety. After staying home for months, we deserve to pamper ourselves, and I highly recommend Mary and Van Nails Salon at Columbia, especially manicure and pedicure! Guys, go out. You deserve it; it is safe and supports small businesses.

Absolutely wonderful experience! I got a pedicure and powder manicure with my mom and we had a great time. Mary and her husband were so nice and we will definitely be back.

The Salon keeps a superb protocol for safety when they reopen after the Covid Pandemic closure. I feel very safe, because it is a spacious salon with only two very talented technicians. Mary remodeled the salon during the closed time, and everything is very clean. I highly recommend the place. Nice job! After months being stuck at home, I am glad they are back. They did a fantastic job of remodel and set up all safety procedures, beyond the State guidance. My usual nail shop was closed due to COVID-19, I looked up another nail salon with good reviews, so I decided to give this place a try. Mary was very nice and personable, but the quality of the work was not okay. My Gel nail polish started chipping in less than a week, and I also had some bruising around my nails from the manicure. Now that my usual nail salon is open, I will not be going back to Van nail salon, Im also not sure why they have so many good reviews. The owner being nice doesn’t mean there is not room for improvement in work quality.

I am 80 years old. My husband and I needed a pedicure after the Covid stress. It was a beautiful experience. I was so happy with Mary and Van, and thankful for their effort to open their service. The Salon is very safe; they cleaned, sanitized everything after the services, had a pretty strick process for safety and sanitation. Van Nail Salon is a very boutique place, has been here for decades. Spacious place with only two very highly skilled technicians with 20 years experience each. They open their business to serve us, come to give you a treat, and support small, fantastic local businesses.

I got there a little early for my pedicure. So I had a chance to see how the salon works. Van is amazing, her employees, not so much. Van was taking care of the lady next to me. She was amazing. Spent so much time her. My person spent less than 30 minutes before start to finish. My swedish massage was less than a minute on each leg. That is the best part of a pedicure. She hardly used any lotion on my legs. In fact, I needed to put lotion on when I got home. Salon is very clean and they look like they have a very loyal following. Maybe it was just a bad day for my person

As far as all the comments about hygiene and cleanliness, the place was very clean..I have been coming to Van Nails for years, now even cleaner. I realized theyve made recent remodel during the covid locked out. They even have plastic screens, temperature measurements, all kinds of safety. I am a nurse and feel very safe when having my pedi, mani at Van Nails Salon.Mary is very nice and talented. I realized that she made thousands of masks to donate to hospital during Covid locked down period. God blesses her. If you can get out of the Covid Prison, to pamper youself, I strongly recommend Van Nails Salon at Columbia, with Mary.

I came in last minute with no appointment and they accommodated me so well! my manicure and pedicure were perfect! Mary is a very talented and fun person to talk to, she knew EVERYTHING and thats the highest Ive ever tipped anyone. I would definitely be coming again. They added 2 free hot stones for the pedicure massage! Love this place.

Warm host and fun talk with the best services before my weddingI needed to get my nails done before our wedding that evening. Called for appointment in a short notice and hoped they would be able to accommodate me. Mary was very nice and personable. Her salon was quite relaxing got my best pedicure ever with amazing reflexology massage and special crème for my feet before my special night! Thanks

BEST MANI-PEDI IN A WHILE!!! Growing my nails with SNS dipping powder. Mary did an excellent job on my nails and did not rush. I love their spa pedicure. That was a real treat. I will definitely be coming back and seeing Mary!

I got talked into trying the SNS powder and I have been going back ever since. I love it! Mary does my nails every three weeks and shes the best nail tech Ive seen in years! I highly recommend making an appointment with her. The dipping powder SNS really do last me three weeks where as the gel polish only lasted a week.

I never write reviews, but . . . . . this is an absolutely amazing little place. I had to wait a little while to see my technician, but once I got in, I was very, very happy with the services provided. I had never had bikini waxing done, but I researched a lot of different salons.Mary was fast, professional, and talked to me through the whole thing. I am definitely going back to see her. I could not have asked for better service. I recommend this place 100%. Their TREATMENT pedicure and facial services were the best, using epoch of NuSkin. Love it.

I have been going to Vann Nail Salon for years and have found their services to be excellent. They are convenient and friendly! I read some of the old reviews and am apalled. All Shops encourage you or suggest you to do more, get a higher level of service, pamper yourself. If you want to, you do. If you dont want to, you dont!I used to bring my Mom here as well- she was elderly and they treated her like a queen.Vann is an angel and the owner, Mary, is very nice as well.I would recommend them highly!

I went In for a manicure and polish for a special day. This is my second manicure EVER and I am over 50. This in necessary for you to put my review in context. I went in for a $13 manicure-polish. I was upsold to a $30 gel treatment and did NOT get the color I wanted. Incrementally as she was starting the manicure after I picked the color she just started talking about treatment options and how the gel lasts and is guaranteed 2 weeks, it will not get chipped before my big day, etc. I said ok, only to find out that I needed to choose a different color and they did not have anything close to the original color I chose. I said, never mind, I want the first color I picked, she refused telling me I already agreed to the higher priced gel (not yet applied).I caved, not being an expert on manicure steps and procedures. I overpaid, did not get the color I wanted and my nails grew out so that within 5 days I had a noticeable edge of polish at the cuticle.I think the shop does a good job, but BEWARE the up-sell!

Absolutely horrible. Don’t every buy a gift certificate from this salon. I purchased a gift certificate for my wife a year ago and she went to use it and they told her it expired and was no longer worth anything. I’ve never heard of any store, not even a small one such as this, expiring the complete amount of a gift certificate in a year. They basically took our money and offered nothing in return. In addition – the way the owner, Mary, handled the whole situation was awful. My wife used to be a regular at this salon and hadn’t been able to visit for the past year, but was looking forward to getting back into her routine. Mary told her “well if you were a regular we would do something for you, but since you’re not – it’s expired”. I put forward a several options to Mary, including reducing the value, but she refused. It’s hard to believe a business in this community would handle a paying customer this way.

Ive been getting pedicures twice a month for 10 years or so. I have a regular place I go to but its out of my way. This place is convenient so I decided to try it. I was greeted promptly and given the options. I Dont need anything fancy (its only been 2 weeks since my last pedi) so I said give me the basic ($25 level one). She said I needed the level 6 (8 levels total) which was $55. I declined - my high pampered feet need a level six when pigs fly. What proceeded was barely more than a wash of my feet... No scrub, no massage, no oil.... She did a good job with the nail part of it, the clean up and French (extra $5). She put on lotion at the very end which was one pump of lotion rubbed on my shins and top of my ankle. I paid $30 plus tip (Iess than I normally would). (((My regular place does a thorough scrub, grate, oil and lotion with a massage for $20 plus $5 for my French))). I wont be returning. PS An upsale only works when people dont know any better or see a value in the more expensive option. Work on the pitch for a $55 pedicure if its worth it.... And doing less when someone says no only gets you bad reviews.
