No security. Bad crime area for theft and harassment. I had my car broken into, and nothing could be done.The units do not have adequate a/c or heating. Maintenance and management are not on the same page and many times maintenance will mark a ticket as completed, but in fact they never arrived to fix the issue.I was repeatedly harassed by a tenant for merely cooking, laughing, and moving in during reasonable hours. Again, the office refused to do anything.Parking is not enforced, so you will lose your spot to random people who dont even live there.

Would give negative stars if I could.We lived in an 88 degree, humid apartment throughout June and July because they couldnt get their act together to replace one broken part in the AC unit. I reported the problem on June 6th VIA THEIR SERVICE PORTAL and it took them a few hours on July 27th to fix it.They are lazy, theres a lack of communication between maintenance and the office, and they repeatedly turned a blind eye to our requests for help, claiming they had no way to find out who was calling. (They take your name and number when you sign the lease.)Worst than the gaslighting though, was that there was no sympathy whatsoever for the conditions we were living in. Negligence is one thing, but they do not care about people on a human level.Stay far, far away.

Weve been living in Verona for almost 2 years. The rent here is the most affordable in the whole Columbia area (we visited many different places before Verona). Close to Columbia Mall, Whole Foods, parks and hospital... Last year, we got a minor issue with the built in washer, they came to fix it in just around 15 mins the next morning. My husband lost the check paying for that month, they not only didnt charge the late payment fee but also reimbursed the fee to void that check! Safe and well maintenanced neighborhood (ample parking space, fast snow removal...). The management team is very understanding, nice and friendly (especially Venesa and Toni) . Highly recommended for anyone looking for a convenient and nice place with very affordable rent.

This has been one of the worst experiences ever. From the start there were issues. There’s a hole the size of a grapefruit on my balcony and when asked for it to be repaired, maintenance placed a mesh covering over the hole leaving it visible. Secondly, the apartments aren’t properly insulated to keep in cool air during the summer. When brought to the leasing agents attention they explained that there is a 10 degree indoor temperature difference for apartments on the third level compared to temperatures outside. (Exp. OUTSIDE 80 degrees vs. INSIDE 90 degrees) Third, I’m catching and seeing mice daily. My girlfriend and I are very conscious on keep the place cleaned but they seem to find their way in. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! I’ve made several complaints to the corporate office but no one cares.

Maintenance sucks beyond belief. Specially during the summer when the AC doesnt work and the front office takes forever to acknowledge that. If youre looking for a comfortable place where the people working there care, look for somewhere else.

The neighborhood isnt safe, its no parking for the residents, and my fiance almost got hit when the kitchen light finally fell after multiple complaints of its hanging and he sent in a ticket for repair and I called but the light is still on the floor

Demesha and Vanessa were amazing!!! They made me feel at home with just coming in and looking for information. They made my move work for me and not the other way around like most leasing offices do. Just try to get business and not really care about you. THEY ARE NOT LIKE THAT! My community is very quiet and my apartment is beautiful. So happy I made this choice ❤️

I recently renewed my lease with the Verona and I love it here! My experience with staff has been great! I love my apartment. Staffing has always been very helpful through whatever issues or concerns I have had and the maintenance guys are great as well and always respond in a timely fashion.Update: I have been living at Verona for 4 years now. I have enjoyed my time and staffing has always been great in addressing my needs. Maintenance continues to respond in a timely fashion and the office staff are always so friendly.

Great customer service. Leasing agents are very active and ready to assist you resolve any misunderstanding. I recommend the Verona Apartment.The neighborhood too is great.

I love my apartment! The ladies (Vanessa, Toni and Damesha) are awesome! They’re kind and understanding. You work with them and they’ll work with you. They really made me feel like they had my back through a rough time and I can’t thank them enough. Anytime I have an issue the maintenance team is on top of it. I’m extremely satisfied with the awesome staff at the Verona at Oakland Mills.

I just moved in my apartment and discovered mice. The Staff and Manager did not care and they act as though it wasn’t no big deal. I didn’t want to believe all the bad reviews but now I see they are true. I have never lived anywhere with mice. I want get my money back and move to a better apartment. If you can move to a better place.

If I could give negative stars I would. The place is so dirty and crawling with bugs. There’s spider webs on the staircases. There are people partying outside every night. 6 people living in a one bedroom apartment making so much noise all day. The old white lady in 5906 Apt 11 never cleans up after her big white Malamute who barks all night long. Nobody does anything about noise complaints. Never renewing my lease.

Came to see apartments, nothing was open in what I was looking for. Leasing office staff was very polite though. Area looks great.

I recently moved in to The Verona and my experience was nothing short of great. The office staff was very professional and made my move in really easy. The updater system also made it easy to set up my utilities and cable and even had suggestions for places in the area. I love my apartment. thanks a lot 😊

I moved into the Verona 2 weeks ago with no complaints! I worked with Ms.Davis and she was awesome! Very pleasant and professional! The entire office is full of energy I can’t tell you how many times I’ve popped up just cause I have anxiety about moving and things being in order. But every time I show up I always received the same customer service even though I know I was a pain. The property manager Toni was very patient with helping me pick out color for my accent wall and the updater help me get everything else started! Moving has never been so easy and stressful prior to renting here. Thank you all again for your help, would definitely recommend!

I love my apartment, thank God no roaches or mice yet. Maintenance people are always nice and prompt. I usually use their online portal to pay rent and ask questions to leasing office people, and their response is prompt as well. I read a lot of bad reviews, and lot of them can be true, but I cant complain. For the rent I am paying, I am very satisfied with the service I am getting.

I would just like to thank Demesha, and Vanessa they had very impressive customer service. Demesha assisted me during the start up process. Move in was stress free, apartment was clean. Only had 2 minor items with our ice maker and bathroom fan werent working properly. Maintenance fixed it right away. When I was at the end of my lease, Vanessa took care of my paperwork. And the only reason why I moved was due to a change of jobs. Parking was great, and never had any issues.

I recently moved into the Verona during the Holiday season and it has been great. I really love my apartment. They are very spacious. All the staff ive encountered have been nothing but wonderful and respectful. My first month they had a Christmas balcony decoration competition! I hope to see more resident events. Demesha told me about the updater when they first started and it made it really easy to change my utilities and cable services. I did everything right from my phone which was nice for easy access.

Desmond Cameron is an excellent maitenance technition. Every time he repairs a service call to my unit its always done very well. I am on a fixed income and cant affoard to move and I get assistance from ho co housing. Im already over my bouchrt by 28 dollars. If you all keep raising your rent ea year I wont be able to affoard the rent anymore Ive been a resident here since 1984 to the present time.

Ok so I have been here for 5 months and yes it’s true these apartments do have bugs but they do handle it well with the exterminator but what do u expect when u live in what is known to be the Columbia hosing projects. It comes with the territory. I have handles this with bleach and DE to ward off the number Of times I c these critters. First it was non then a few then excessive then exterminator and bleach came and it’s a few every now and then next to never. But my biggest complaint is the noise level. My neighbors are too loud naming these walls are public thin so if u wanna roll the dice against your peace then have at it. I won’t be renewing but thin walls I assume come with the territory too.I am soon to move here in July after I receive my discharge papers and I have experienced nothing but the best from the office staff. They have been nothing but profession polite and courteous. Seems as though those who were not the best representation of the Verona are no longer there. Also to address the bedbug and roach issue thank u but the answer to end the infestation is DIATOMACEOUS EARTH FOOD GRADE applied to the carpet wall and inside the outlets. I have had my own personal experiences with those night critters and believe even though no fun I am a master. So thanks for the heads up I will be sure to handle my apt accordingly. I will update review after move in.

Someone in the complex is using my identity I never live but I came there one time to do an application for a apartment I got the apartment but quickly change my mine before I changed my I had cable set up for installation and I cancelled the installation and then two years later my credit report showing the address to The Vernon’s at Oakland Mills I never lived I called didn’t no where now the are changing my address to he my mail coming their address 9659 Badket ring Rd I won’t reveal the apt number yet but it’s being investigated if this sounds familiar to you let your voice be heard.

Moved in 2 months ago and it been very pleasing. Demesha was very helpful and made my move in process smooth and easy. Venessa also assisted when she was unavailable and was very pleasant as well. Im big on customer service and the staff is great! I love my home, havent noticed any bugs either!

Do not move here. I’ve lived here for 7 years with my family, and nothing ever gets done. The people in the leasing office are not helpful, maintenance takes forever to come. People have parties in the parking lot. I’ve came home to people who don’t live in my building smoking in the hallway. The security isn’t reliable, they make their own hours. i’ve seen them during the day more than at night where the real crime tends to happen. My car was broken into last night, and there was no security. When telling the leasing office, their response was, ”security isn’t 24 hours and they set their own hours.” So they did nothing! Don’t move here!!

The maintenance team is excellent and very responsive. They really go above and beyond. Quentin and Desmond are the best!

One of the worst renting experiences Ive had. The only positive is pricing. The bad experiences Ive had include, leasing office very rarely answering the phones and there is a $1,000 non-refundable transfer fee if youd want to move to another apartment in the same complex(even if you renew your lease). We had a lot of faith in the Verona before we moved in, but this is not a place I would recommend if you are looking for reliability.

I moved in earlier this month and have had a great experience so far.Great customer service and very quick response times on emails and phone calls. Any question that I asked was answered within minutes or with the hour. Very easy to use online management system to set-up paying recurring rent so I can set it and forget it. Their website Updater was useful also in having a pre-move check list of items and links for BGE for utilities and for setting up internet through Verizon.Very small minor things found during my initial inspection prior to moving in and a week after moving in but I told them about it and they fixed it quickly. All in all, I would recommend the Verona at Oakland Mills to others. This is my first apartment and Im glad I chose this spot. Very close to the mall in Columbia and Baltimore & DC. This was also one of the less expensive and nicer places that I found in the area. Its nice that I dont have to pay extra for things that I dont need like a pool or small gym like other places offer. I just needed an apartment in a safe area.I had been working with Demisha in the leasing department from start to finish (from initial site-visit to signing papers and getting keys). She was very professional and happy to answer all of my many questions.

DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!!!!!, COMMUMITY IS INFESTED WITH ROACHES, THE EMPLOYEES AND STAFF ARE SO RUDE AND UNREASONABLE, IF I COULD SAVE EVEN ONE PERSON FROM MOVING HERE I WILL BE HAPPY, I had to get rid of all my belongings and move ASAP and they are still trying to charge me. Worst living experience of my entire life, horrible horrible people running that disgusting filthy establishment. What they are doing to people is down right wrong and this place should be sued for something. Save yourself the time and money and move literally anywhere else.

These apartments are awful. Roaches, mice, bed bugs, stinky odor coming from ductworks, drug dealers in the neighborhood are most part of the problems. The office and maintenance staff is less than helpful when it comes to simple issues and repairs.

The rental office sucks. Nobody never answer the phone when I call. Every time I ask a question the lady never knows the answer. My door was broke when I first moved in.. I told the rental office still havent fix the problem. I got a bill in the mail saying how much I had to pay when I paid it by the 5th of the month. The next day the lady called me telling me I have to pay a different amount so unprofessional. The rental office is the main reason not to live here its ridiculous.

These apartments are disgusting. They gave roaches, mice, and bed bugs. Every week you see a new mattress at the dumpster because of this issue, and the manager refuses to admit fault.The neighborhood has a number of drug dealers, and my car was damaged by someone hitting it with a stick.The office and maintenance is less than helpful when it comes to simple issues and repairs.

One of the things i do not like is that they dont take care quickly of the snow on the parkin lot in winter even when they know all their residents need it!!! That is really bad i dont know if Charge those services in the bills but they need to improve that because after the snow we all need to go to work!!! But no body cant get out because of the snow!!

I lived here for 2 years. These apartments are garbage. DO NOT move in here.The office staff is terrible. The overweight girl at the front desk should be fired. Absolutly rude. Help is rarely available. Expect to be waiting around for very long periods of time.Dont be fooled by the model apartment.After I moved in there were several problems. As another reviewer said, dont expect your AC or HEAT to ever work. Typically you call for service, wait a week or two, call again, maintaince, and it works for maybe 2-3 days.When I moved in, there were small roaches everywhere. I had to buy traps which solbed the problem in about 3 months.There were scuffs and scratches all over the place. The washer and dryer didnt work upon moving in and had to wait a month for a fix. The towel rack and toilet paper holder fall off the walls constantly. The dishwasher hardly gets anything clean. I can go on and on.As for outdoors, youve got plently of drug dealers if you need a fix. As another reviewer mentioned, if it snows, dont plan to go anywhere for about a week or so. Kids will do all sorts of damage to your car. My neighbors are getting arrested about monthly. There are groups of people hanging out everywhere. My girlfriend is afarid to walk the dog at night. Plenty of broken bottles and beer cans everywhere. Trash everywhere. There is a pothole at the entrance to area that is huge and hasnt been fixed in over 6 months now.TL;DR: DO NOT MOVE HERE. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. DO NOT PUT YOU OR YOUR CHILDREN THROUGH THIS.

Honest advice after 2 year tenancy. Maintenance staff is friendly and effective at what theyre responsbile for. Admin staff inside the office is unfriendly and impersonal.Please beware of the surety bond within the contract you sign. They refer to it as a deposit verbally, but a surety bond is non-refundable. It is also $1000 (non-refundable fee) to transfer to bigger or smaller floorplan even if lease is re-newed.My #1 issue - If your property lacks ammenities, lacks a safe enviroment where drug transactions and domestic/gang violence often occure, the least you could do is employ an office staff who smiles, actually picks up the phone, and seems happy to have a job these days..
