I am very thankful for Ben, Terrah, and David. Anytime there is an issue in the apartment David is there to assist either same day or next day. My A/C and water heater both needed to be looked at and have some parts replaced (come on people, wether it’s a house or apartment someone has to do it. Just let them know and it’ll be squared away), and they were able to fix the issues and take care of the carpet! Ben and Terrah do wonderful in the office with any questions or concerns. Communication is extremely beneficial for both parties and I’m grateful to have that team maintaining Bent Tree!

This apartment complex is very quiet and clean. I have 2 small children and we are very comfortable and feel safe here. I’ve never had problems with pests and maintenance is always quick to deal with any troubles I have. The only issue is the trash area isn’t very clean and there isn’t a play area but these are small issues.

Lived here a little over 15yrs ago and the palmetto bugs in this area were a major issue. For those who don’t know what they are look them up. They are huge and they fly. I say area because I also lived in the apartments next to this one and had the same issue. That honestly was the main reason I moved. Crime at these apartments weren’t a concern while I was living here but the apartments next to it was known for illegal activity and violence. I see a lot of things have gotten worse over the years though. I’d stay away from this area now.

Yes, there is an issue with the water bugs. They live in the pine tree / straw that line the complex. I hate the bugs but I DO NOT HAVE ROACHES!!!Yes, there are gun shots, random.. and frequent but I live the side near the Grove apartments.My upstairs neighbors have a kid. LOL...Children should live down stairs. LOLSomeone went into my apartment and made a smoothie... I never reported it to main office, but i did change my locks.

My experience at Bent Tree Apartments havent been all that pleasurable. The office managers change alot, pest control needs to come out every week and they dont. The water bugs are horrible in my apartment. Last but not least the trash is unacceptable. Its always trash laying on the ground and the dumpster stays broke and for the last few weeks the trash has been piled up at the dumpster and looks awful. I will not be signing a new lease.

DO NOT MOVE HERE. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. The apartment is invested with roaches during the spring summer and early fall. The A/C will go out during the spring and summer and go multiple days without being fixed. These two issues were not only issues based upon my own personal experience but from talking with other tenants they are issues shared among the complex. The pool is disgusting for 75% of the summer. They charge you a fee of 5$ every month but for the majority of the months out of the year the trash is overflowing into the street. They charge a 25$ “convenience” when paying online rather than with a money order.. In general, when problems occur the staff here at Bent Tree takes days to respond and days to address the issues. They do not care about you, your family, your wants and most importantly your needs as a habitant of their complex. DO NOT AND I REPEAT DO NOT move here unless you want to be screwed for your money, time, and comfort.

I lived there when the flood happened on Fernandina, two weeks after I moved in the apartment over me flooded down to mine. Well, all they did was have someone to suck up the water out of the carpet, that left a smell, they would deodorize it, they had to do that about 3 times. So I ask them if they could just change the carpet that got wet, that didnt happen, then in the hall bathroom, it would leak from the light over the tub, I called so many times, they looked at it but never fixed, Finally had enough and call the corporate office, moved out with no penalties, I recommend that place to absolutely NO ONE!!

DO NOT MOVE HERE save your time I been here for a year and they didnt repair nothing the office people dont care about the people who live out here all they care about you paying rent I havent had none of the major problems fix ever sense I told them we went through 3 office manager and all of them the same so I give up and Im suing this place

Ok I been living here for a couple months and clearly my mother did not review the comments on this place it has roches, ants, tiny spiders everywhere in the room sorry but its not a good place to stay sorry for bad reveiw but its true and I wish I can move this day because I had to spray roach killer spray on my bed to kill a single roach and the week seen 4 roaches like this are humanges roaches and we have never found where there coming from so please if your a leaseholder or manager pls find how these roaches are coming in and put it to a stop.

You will find a better deal elsewhere. You will grow accustomed to the sounds of gunshots down Seminole Rd. Trust me on this. It has happened probably 5-6 times since we moved in 5 months ago. Good thing we only signed a 6 month lease, so were out of here in a month.Another problem is that you can hear every step your upstairs neighbor makes should you be on the bottom. Every creak and groan of the floor. Its so irritating.Also, someone rummaged through my girlfriends car, so theres that too. So since Id love to look out for people out there, please look elsewhere. Its not worth the risk of a bullet meant for someone else should go through your bedroom or living room window and hurt you or someone you love. Be safe!

I stayed there 2 years. My old apartment was flooded twice, second apartmet (old) had damages they blamed me for. Bent Tree did NOT help with any moving expenses after begging me to stay. New management is committed to charging for EVERY little detail upon moving out even if the apartment is spotless!! The old workers in the office DID NOT document everything therefore it falls on you. New management will find something to charge for. I was told this while residing here and saw it for myself. Something so small they will charge $50-$100 from your security deposit just for the hell of it. Dont get an old apartment that has old appliances (refrigerator,oven), floors and cabinets their gonna take your deposit. Im so glad I moved. My experience here has been VERY disappointing!!

I am a current resident in bent tree apartments. And I have to say that it is by far the best complex that I have ever lived in. The office staff is amazing! They are very friendly and always there when I need assistance!! The neighborhood is very quiet and the grounds are well kept. I love it and will not be moving anytime soon. If you are looking for an apartment bent tree is where you need to be!!

Im A Current Resident and The Apartments Are Nice But my ONLY ISSUE Is All These Bugs And How I Watched One Literally Walk Under My Door While It Was Closed And Then When I Moved In There Was Quite A Few Dead Bugs In The Apartment. Some People Say Its The South But Why Are There Water Bugs In And Out. Even My Neighbors We All Got Bug Spray And Just Sprayed But They Still Get In

The staff here is awesome and it is a great place to live! I will definitely be renewing my lease when it is up!

Bent Tree Apartments is disgusting the apartment is infested with cockroaches and the AC doesnt work I wouldnt even give this a one star there are so many other places in Columbia South Carolina that you can move to stay away from this place

This apartment complex is a cheap move in if you are new to Columbia. Do not be fooled by the patrol cars! If you live on the side closest to the elementary school, you will likely hear gunshots on Friday and Saturday night. The office staff are only nice to you until you move in, then they can care less. You can count on the bug guy coming by regularly, which is nice, but if you need anything fixed good luck! Also, it is against the law to sign a lease over 12 months in the state of South Carolina. I have never heard of a 13 month lease so I looked over this during the signing agreement. Fool me once! If you sign a lease here make sure you pay attention to the dates. When I moved out the apartment manager was rude, yelled at me on the phone, and hung the phone up in my face multiple times! I was going to sue but the cost of attorneys was not worth getting my money back. Unless you are desparate, DO NOT MOVE HERE! You will not feel safe unless you are a gangster of some sort.

I love living here! Im still a resident here and I havent had any problems at all since Ive been here (which has been three years!) The maintenance responds within minutes and fix stuff immediately. The office staff is very friendly and helpful. All day (even at night) its very quiet. Theres not a lot of children making noise which is good and theres no rift-raft out here. This is a great place for anyone to live especially if youre young and just moving out from your parents house.

I am ready to move out. We have lived here for over 2 years. At the beginning it was great. But living here has only gone down hill. There has been an increase of crime. About a dozen cars were broken into, plus you hear gun shots about once a month. I have been waiting for both of my bathtubs to be fixed for 3+ months tiles are falling off but they glue them back to a decaying shower wall so they fall off again. My other tub has a crack at the bottom and needs to be fixed for the 3rd time. The pool closes early- the beginning of august. What makes me the most angry is that the office is not doing package service anymore. The only reason why I know is because there was a note on the package I picked up. There was no actual notice to residents other than if you needed to pick up a package in the last month. Their vendors are terrible. The people who cut the grass leave the trash and glass in the yard, when there was a storm a tree fell onto the building I had to remind the maintenance to tell the landscapers who ended up moving it off the building but the dead tree is still waiting to be taken care of (6 months). When the roof was replaced there were shingles all over our balcony. I could go on but they hire cheap vendors who never clean up after themselves and leave the grounds messy. I would never suggest anyone live here.

HORRIBLE! It deserves 0 stars. This is the WORST apartment complex I have ever lived at.I have been having issues with my ac and the generator outside my apartment which has caused an outrageous increase to my electric bills and despite asking them nicely to send someone to fix the issue the leasing assistant always shows an attitude and never answers the phone! Save yourself some trouble and do not go to this place.

I would not recommend this to anyone. Water is running through the walls and dripping through the ceiling of the building, and the Maintenance Supervisors solution was to let the water dry and then repaint. This is the same Supervisor that admitted to leaving the water running upstairs to cause the flooding.This water has been collecting for 2 days and has only spread through the ceiling. Fungus or bacteria needs no time to collect in this water, and surely will. They should fix the structure of this building before moving any new tenants in, but they only plan to cover it up until the next tenants move in and realize the damage is not done. This is the 2nd flood in this building in 3 months. The first time was a plumbing issue.

I really cant give any positive ratings but I felt the need to speak out on possibly being a potential resident. They never answer their phones. Ive even went as far as calling from my jobs phone to see if they would answer and they have! Ive had to personally drive to the office to get any kind of information. All the run around has turned me off with even going to this place. Its unprofessional and bad business in my book and maybe I have dodged a bullet.

I have stayed in many apartments but this complex is by far the worst I have ever stayed!!!! First off, the staff has dont care attitude since the day I moved in all I had was problems after problems my floor in my bedroom leaks water every time it rains all they do is dry it up and never find a solution to fix the issue. Secondly, my door is jammed its takes me at least 5 minutes to play around with it until it finally opens went to the office several times about the problem and they say is someone is coming but no one ever comes. I came to this complex because I stayed 2011-2012 and I had a great experience but I dont know what happened in the past few years but it has went downhill. My lease is up in April and I am counting down the days because I cant wait to be done with this place. Take my advice DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!! and dont let the niceness fool you when you applying because all that will change once you sign those papers. Once again please seek other options and dont apply I wish someone had warned me!!!!

Horrible apartment complex. I dont recommend it to anyone. They rent to any one and you can hear every thing. The neighbors are rude and blast their music ALLL DAY EVERY DAY. The police dont help and the apartment complex just says call the police. I cant wait for lease to be up. I hate this apartment complex. Do not rent here!

This place is the most horrid place I have ever lived. I had my car broken into on the grounds and had a 1500 stereo system stolen. My pistol stolen. Golf clubs stolen. About $3000 worth of stuff out my car. Secondly the office has a don’t care attitude about anything. The maintenance crew does not fix anything properly. My ac has gone out 6 times in as little as 3 months. My dishwasher hasn’t worked since I moved in. You hear gun shots multiples times a month. Over 12 cars has been broken into and to top it off my $7000 motorcycle was stolen right in front of my apartment in broad daylight and not a single person can tell me who did it. The office knows the crime rate is really high but told me when I moved in there was security on site all day and that crime was very low which was a bold face lie! I’ve lived here 9 months and not a single security personal has even been on site. They won’t let me break my lease even though I don’t feel safe living here wkth all the constant crime. Police is on site almost every other day and will do nothing. Do not. I repeat do not live in this complex!

My family and I moved here last September after a disagreement with our previous complex about our pets. The Office Staff and Maintenance workers are very friendly and have settled any issues quickly, and have never once been judgmental about my family arrangement or the fact that we have snakes as pets. Pest control comes regularly, and there have not been any issues with bugs or rodents. This is the nicest apartment complex in this area, and is the nicest complex that I have ever lived in (and I spent way more money on a terrible apartment off of Harbison Blvd). The rent is very reasonable, and they do awesome things like BINGO where you can win different prizes. The only thing that is a negative would be the pool size, its small and shallow, but its still a lot nicer than most of the pools at other apartments. Overall, Id rate this place a 9.5 out of 10.

Worst apartment experience ever! they don’t like to maintenance

My a.c. is always broken and takes 4+ days for it to actually be fixed, apparently every Time it breaker I need a new part to be orderen. In one summer how many times does my a.c. have to go out before you replace the whole thing? And yes the lawn mantanice is horrible thats why there are so many big issues and that came from the guy who sprays the apartment for bugs! And he only comes on when personally requested i never see anything done unless I ask. It was 10xs better before new owners took over. They hide they face and we have no contact to them but we continue to pay for no upgrades. I need to get out of dodge.

This horrible place i never been before. In my bathroom, the insects they come too many from under floor. Because the floor have broken around the corner, even the mushroom they come from ground too. The room very dank, smell is like mode. Water leaking out and make the carpet very wet, we still waiting they come to fix, but they dont.

Staff is responsive. Repairs are handled quickly.

Almost every package Ive sent to a resident there that is delivered to the office has gone missing and he never gets it
