I am incredibly disappointed with the service I got from this company. This was my first time renting a car and it made me never want to do it again. I went to return my vehicle and nobody was there, I had no information nor direction on what to do. I called a representative that had called me to get the vehicle information(they let me drive off the lot without getting the information on the car) and he instructed me to leave the keys in the car. Next day I was charged $147 and had to wait on hold for about 20 minutes to talk to a representative. Would give zero stars if I could, never again.

Terrible front counter experience. Ive been a Gold Plus member for decades, and have never been treated so poorly, not even close to what I experienced at this location. And the Hertz 1-800 number did nothing to help or compensate me for this experience.

Last night (DEC 17 2020) we rented a car from the Hertz Counter at the Colorado Springs Airport. I’ve had always mixed feeling about Hertz in the past, but my faith has been renewed with Jennifer’s assistance last night. We wanted to let her know how great of a job she did in her customer service skills and we wanted to let her management know how great of an employee she is to Hertz. I really hope this message reaches her because she needs to hear how great she is doing. Jennifer’s positive attitude set the tone for our evening before our 15 hour drive and I can’t deny that I appreciated the upgrade. Thank you very much and we look forward to returning the car back to you.One small critique- Hertz needs to add a line for positive reviews of their services. The phone customer said all I could do is add a review on Google.

I was rear ended, and while my car was being repaired I rented a car through my insurance, which recommended Hertz. When I picked up the car, the walk through was quick, and with this being my first time as a car renter, I did not realize the importance of watching every detail that they look over. The person inspecting the car only stuck his/her head in for a quick minute to check the mileage. When I got in the car, I noticed an unpleasant smell but didnt think much of it. After the car sat in my driveway on a hot day, the smell became much more distinct and was very obviously cigarette smoke. I am not a smoker, I drove the car less than 30 miles the entire time I was renting it, and yet I was still charged a $300 cleaning fee for evidence of smoking in the car. The manager took a picture of what is supposedly ash. I have looked these pictures over and over, and I still cannot see the ash she apparently found. When speaking with the manager about this situation, she was unwilling to hear my side of the story. She seemed set on collecting the extra $300 fee.I am now aware that I should do my own inspection before leaving the lot of a rental car company, and if I had known better, I would definitely have chosen a different company.

Picked up the car last Wednesday for a month+ rental. I had reserved a Standard size car, which is bigger than Economy and Compact, or so I thought. I get a Corolla? It starts vibrating, shaking like its going to fall apart when I get on I-25 and above 55 mph. I pull over and call to see if I can get a different car. This one is going to get me killed! There is no way to reach the local office that I just left. Every option on the recording circles me back around to reservations and they cannot connect me. They say I have to call the direct number. Ive been calling the direct number! I finally decide to try to make it to the hotel since I have a meeting to call into. Later that afternoon, I try again and finally do get a person. She tells me to call back over the weekend and they should have more cars in to pick from. It is now Monday and I have still not been able to reach a person that can help me. Worst car and worst service I have ever had from a rental car company. And that includes the car in Hawaii with bugs in it. At least they came to me and swapped out the car!Oh and so much for clean and sanitized. Looks like the previous renters had their dog in here. Hair all under the seat which I discovered after dropping something and trying to retrieve it. Gross!And its missing a hubcap. Probably vibrated off somewhere on the highway.But its what Im stuck with for the next month because the rate I got was for a month and if I bring it back and go somewhere else, I can no longer get the monthly rate from either company. If I could give zero stars I would. Hertz is extremely shady and don’t care about helping the customer at all. I will never book with them again. I booked a car through Expedia in January for 5 days at $200. We go to pick up the car in end of February. They wanted to give us a Chevy spark, to drive to Crested Butte in the mountains. They said that was the only car available unless we wanted to pay a extra $ $350. The guy helping us said we would get $200 back when we returned the car. We never got our money back. When I called Hertz 3 separate times there “system was down” so they couldn’t look into why I hadn’t gotten the money back. Then the 4th time, I did speak to someone who could look at the reciepts, in which she proceeded to tell me our whole rental car was $700, so they wouldn’t be refunding the $200.

Do not rent from Hertz, they don’t not clean their cars, all they do is put that yellow sticker on the door. I found empty water bottles, energy drinks, used napkins, and cookie crumbs. Go somewhere else.

I had the worst experience ever with Hertz! Buckle up.. this is a long story!We were in Colorado Springs (15 hrs from home) and hit a deer which totaled my car. The only cars available for rental was from Hertz in the Colorado Springs Airport. We book it through some app (figured it was like Hotels.com- where they place all available rentals in one place) and it said we would pay for our rental when we dropped it off in St. Louis. We got to the airport and the manager required payment up front. No big deal... I hand over my debit card. He said it is company policy that it has to be a credit card. I told him my debit card runs as credit when needed. He said that wont work and handed it back. I explained the situation and told him hes literally the only rental car available for the next 3 days. We even had family members willing to pay over the phone, but he refused saying that it was fraud. With a blank face, he said there was nothing he could do. His customer service skills were in the toilet.I start to cry in the middle of a busy airport due to lack of sleep, stress, and dealing with this jerk. Someone who worked for the airport comes over and starts consoling me. She asks him if he would make an exception and he flatly told her no.He then told me that I could rent a car using a debit card IF I had a plane ticket (apparently its company policy). I told him Id buy a plane ticket, thinking I could find a super cheap one to anywhere in the country, but the man told me no. It had to be the same location that I planned to drop the car off at. AND THEN!!!! This a**hole of a manager told me he wasnt going to rent the car to me because he knew that I didnt plan to use the plane ticket!!!!!I told him that I would fly and my husband would drive BY HIMSELF for 15 hours all the way home. I started walking around the airport looking for the cheapest ticket to STL. Finally found one for $250.I go back to the car rental counter and pay. He hands over the keys and then said, Oh! Looks like your debit card would have worked in the first place!If I would have stayed there any longer, I would have ended up in a jail cell... I grabbed my husband and we left in the car together...On the way home, I changed the location of the car drop off location. So obviously it didnt matter if the plane ticket was the same location or not. I called Hertz to try and complain and all they could offer was a $50 voucher. I want to be refunded the cost of the plane ticket. They told me I would have to email the company (which I did) and wait 7-10 business days for a response.... Ive been waiting a month for their response... All I hear is crickets...Points to remember:1. He wouldnt run my card in the first place when I told him it would run as credit2. He tried to FORCE me to get on a plane3. He wasnt even sympathetic. I understand if there is nothing you can do to help me out, but you could at least act like you feel bad for the situation.4. My card actually would have worked if he would have tried it in the first place!5. They will not respond back to my email I sent.

Even if you purchase full coverage temporary insurance from them you will still need to be a credit company pawn to rent anything. Employees not very excited to be there, and the email reservations you set will not tell you how to actually find this place. Spent so long trying to find it. Would definitely shop elsewhere

Easy to use online rental, then right off of the plane and downstairs to baggage claim. Before the bags came off of the belt I was able to go right to the Hertz counter and receive my keys and rental agreement. Very friendly staff and helpful with how to get around the area. I had no problems with my car rental and when it was time to return the vehicle it was very easy and I was on my way through security and to the terminal for take off. I would definitely give Hertz a try, I have been using them for most of the travel; personal and business. I give them 5 stars for their great customer service! Keep up the good work.

The guy at the booth outside went above and beyond. He offered to bring our car to us to save us a walk. I know it was cold outside but he was prompt and polite. I have been more than happy renting from them as opposed to others at this location. The counter is polite, the price is great and no car issues. Quite a sense of peace when arriving from a long flight.

Check in was smooth and easy. No high-pressure sales of rental insurance, just friendly and fast service. No issues with vehicle whatsoever. Typical rental, low mileage, minor scratches that I noted on my form, good gas mileage. Return was super fast as well (this took literally 2 minutes, and Hertz is only a short walk away from check in at COS Airport). I thought I left my military ID card (super important and a pain to replace) in the rental Id just returned, so I ran back outside. Nancy and Wolf helped find the car Id rented and went out of their way to check for my ID card. Turns out, Id left it at the check-in counter in the airport, but their kindness and efficiency really made a difference. I will definitely be using Hertz again! Highly recommend.

Like they say, first impressions matter. Of all the trips where Ive rented cars, this was the first time using Hertz. Happy to say that this is definitely one of the more positive rental experiences Ive had in awhile. Bottom line: the staff was friendly, fast, and the check-out/in process was easy. They had the exact car I selected online and the out-the-door price was the same as quoted up front. The vehicle was clean both inside and out and in excellent condition. No shuttle buses to chase after here, nor employees hassling you to upgrade or rushing to get you out of the car during return. Hertz will be my first choice from now on.

Only Hertz rental place i go to, where as a Gold member, i still get a chevy Malibu. In Colorado, its like a death cage and shouldnt be an option! They are going to kill someone. They should drive that 2 wheel drive off a cliff. Regardless, if you demand it, they will give you a 4WD car, that is just sitting on the lot. Why not just give people a safe car to begin with?

I was sent to hertz through an insurance claim from an accident I had a month and a half ago. I’ve never rented a car before so I wasn’t sure what was to come. Jason at the platte store basically told me that I had to get insurance on it or I just wouldn’t have any insurance on it so I got it. I called my insurance Less than 2 hours after I got the car and she told me it’s not needed since I have insurance, that it transfers with me. I called and cancelled and was told all charges were going to be lifted since it was the same business day. I ended up having the rental for a month and 4 days because my car was in the shop. I returned it at the store on Woodmen where I was told there was $26.04 owed to them because of the insurance I got. I told the manager that Jason told me it was going to be lifted off. She was very unprofessional (not sure of her name, no one had a name tag on) but she reassured me that she was Jason’s manager and Jason knew what the rule was. She even called Jason to verify and of course he’s going to say he knows that. She said that after 15 minutes of having the car, then it will automatically charge. We asked her where it says that on the contract. She couldn’t find that exact wording but then she changed it to over 2 hours so that’s why I was charged. I ended up paying it and they don’t have credit card machines so they call and say your debit card number very loud into their phones... again, very unprofessional. I will make sure everyone I know knows how this whole thing was taken place. I will never return to hertz again and make sure my friends and family know not to go there again as well. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

This was the first time i rented a car. Rented a 2016 Ford Fusion. No complaints here, good on gas, drove up Pikes peak and cruised all around Colorado. It had plenty of space too. The service desk was very helpful and friendly. Overall just a nice experience.

It was so easy to pick up and drop off the car. When we arrived, I went to the counter, they greeted me with a smile, told them my name and within 1 minute I had the key to my rental.Dropping off the car was simple too. I pulled up, took out the luggage, gave the keys to the guy in the booth (who was very polite) and within 2 minutes we were on our way.

Problem #1...Reserved a car online to be rented for 3 days, online my reservation stated that it was only 30.00 per day for the car I rented, got charged an extra 5 dollars for the car they gave me, problem #2 their pickup and drop off schedule is 12:00 p.m., had to take off of work to be able to take the car back by noon because if you take it back later than that you get charged an extra day, so I took it back by 11:30, thought everything was fine then I get the receipt at 5:51 p.m. through email with a charge for an extra day on it. Now mistakes happen and if I could talk to somebody about the issue it might get fixed but since they sent it so late you cannot contact anybody through hertz after 6:00. Not toll free not online nothing. Now I have to take more time out of my day to get this fixed because somebody blatantly messed up twice. I know what time I dropped it off because I have a picture of the odometer before I handed over the keys.

Our experience with Hertz started out a little rough, because the car we were given malfunctioned on the second day and was undriveable - engine light came on and we stalled multiple times, including on the highway. We returned the car and the Hertz agent upgraded us to another vehicle for free.When our trip ended, we realized we had left a suit in the backseat of the car. I called Hertz, and Sally, who runs the lost & found at COS airport, was so incredibly helpful. She found the suit and shipped it back to us the same day. Im so grateful that someone at the location actually answered the phone, rather than transferring us to corporate, and solved the problem promptly. Thank you!

This is a small airport location. My car keys were ready at the desk, the lot is just across from the baggage claim exit, my car was clean and in great condition. They have a return agent, at least during the day, so I didnt have to worry about filling out the return leaflet which was most likely packed in my luggage. This might be my favorite Hertz location.

Easy experience. Small airport and only negative was no gold canopy so had to wait in line. After using the gold canopies having to talk to someone and wait in line becomes annoying. :)People were friendly and it is super easy to get in and out. You park right at the terminal so much easier than Denver.

These guys really arent that great. I dont think Ive had a successful rental here yet. Either the drop off times were messed up and I was charged for days I didnt use and wasnt even in town or their customer service (call center) was absolutely terrible and un accommodating.

The woman at the counter was friendly and helpful. The van seating wasnt as flexible as I would have liked, so the 6 of us were a little crowded with all our luggage, but that isnt Hertzs fault. It was supposed to be a non-smoking vehicle, but you could smell strong cigarette smoke odor in the van. The pick up and delivery went very smoothly.

I am purposefully rating one star just like you leave one penny for bad service at a restaurant.I reserved a car to be picked up Saturday, May 14. When I called the office to make sure that my car was ready, I was told that a guy had just taken it out, but hed be back in 30 minutes. I asked that the young woman with whom I spoke give me a call when he returned. She never called back. When I went to the office, they were CLOSED. They had closed 30 minutes after I called and I was never informed that they would be closing soon. Basically, the young woman who answered the phone lied to me. Ill never rent from HERTZ again. Bad news for them. I travel extensively for business. And I will share this experience with everyone I can.

The customer service was excellent. If Id dropped off the return at a closer location to where I was they would have charged a city fee, which is annoying, but I get it. Also was driving through pretty bad weather and they didnt put enough wiper fluid in the car, so that wasnt fun. But overall they were ok.

They never have available cars to change or to offer. Although the cars are dorty when you get them, you cant really chose from others which they claim are dirty as well. And even though you are a gold member there is no discount or real preference when you hire 5 cars for 3 weeks. Funny thing is anyons could be a gold member, only thing you want to do is sign online which doesnt make sense.

Got a full size suv a week or two in advance all online. No issues on pickup and was please to get a upgraded suv (yukon xl) at no charge. Easy pickup and drop off, very reasonable price for type of vehicle..less than smaller suvs? Would do it again. Wish they were close but the biggest selection at airport so cant complain. Thank you

I have a reservation next week and heard there were local hail storms and may not be rental cars available, even with a reservation. Im specifically flying in from out of state. I tried calling the number all day for this direct location and no answer. Not even an automated menu to leave a message. Unprofessional to not at least have that.

Easy pick up, about as close to the airport as you can get. Cars windshield was so dirty I had to stop and clean the inside before I got on the road. Other than that, nice ride.

I had to swap a car at this location because of oil change light, and overall is was excellent service, however they didnt have anything similar size(full size sedan) at the moment, so went for smaller car which was clean and new, but had a few small issues.

Wish I could give minus stars.Worst car rental experience ever.The Colorado Springs airport Hertz location .My wife reserved online flight and car rental for me and it was prepaid but they told me they would not let me get car with a debit card in my name.My son had just come back from deployment in Afgahnistan and had a bad bike wreck and broke his neck.Hertz said sorry no car.Enterprise two counters over had no problem renting to me,no problem.Thank you Enterprise Rent-a-car.
