My boyfriend and I moved here from Iowa about a week and half ago, and we are extremely pleased. The apartment is in great shape, smelled cleaned upon arrival, and working with the office upon move-in was 100% stress free. The apartment looked JUST like the pictures - how often does that happen?! We were so tired by the time we arrived (drove 10 hours) that I think they were more excited than us, haha! We love it here so far, definitely recommend for people looking for a home.
Nearly everything was broken or damaged upon move-in. Living here has been one problem after another, and I would highly recommend looking elsewhere. Rent is too high for the quality of the apartments to be so poor.
Friendly and professional office and maintenance people. Clean and inviting property.
I called to have a tour here. Lovely apartments, great and spacious. Shae was very nice, professional, and informative. I’m from out of state so she helped me with location and did great with follow up. The apartment community itself was very green, well cleaned, and pretty. Staff overall here is great, friendly and helpful. Definitely would look at touring/renting here!
I wish I could give more then 5 stars! I was sold the second I drove on to this beautiful property! Wintree lives up to its name by being full of giant trees! The staff was more then accommodating from singing the lease till now! I have verry few issues since living here, but when I did the maintenance team was amazing, friendly, and did a great job! This community is awesome!
Windtree and Weidner (Property Management Group) are amazing company to work with and extremely understanding with any requests and questions from residents. Their maintenance team is excellent and found issues in my unit I didnt know I had. Leasing office staff is amazing, Shae and Logan really make you feel welcome. Having pets on this property is a lot less challenging than I have faced in the past. I would recommend to anyone looking for a great community at an affordable cost.
This place is great except that the hot tub is disgusting and probably very dangerous because of all the diseases over there, the pool is always dirty.
Ive been living here for almost two years now, and been very happy with the community. The maintenance team and the staff are very responsive, and easy to work with. We have a nice park with a library right next to us as well, and the apartments are also pet friendly. Great place to live!
I loved living here. Had to move for work. Kitchen was a bit outdated, but location is great! There is a beautiful park right next door, which was awesome for walking the dogs. Good spot for Pokémon Go too. Theres a gym on property and another gym with a couple stops at the park. 10/10 would rent again.
These apartments are not very good for the price they charge. It is a decent area (right next to a nice park and library) and the apartments are pretty good in hot/cold weather. However a lot of appliances are very old. Carpets, walls and wood not in very good condition (Was charged for them even though I regularly cleaned carpets and they werent in good condition to begin with)Community is good and the apartment staff organize events but are not great at communicating about deadlines and things of that nature.Overall a decent place to live but you can definitely find better places at the price point.
They made the move-in process easy to understand Travis and the maintenance team or extremely quick to respond. Shae is very nice and very professional. Fernando is a great community director and will go out of his way to help you!!!
Above and beyond customer service! From the leasing team (Fernando and Shaelyn) to the maintenance team (Travis, Alan, Cindy, and Jacob) I cannot say enough about how amazing my experience has been living here so far. Keep up the good work, everyone!
Currently living here and just have to share my experience today. Our dishwasher was down and maintenance went to fix it and our cat got out. They called me ASAP and made sure my cat was okay and stayed with him until my fiancée and I could get home! SO thankful for them making sure our baby was okay!
The staff and team at Windtree is a dime a dozen. The floorplan area spacious and the units are nice! We do their flooring turns and never have issues as far as scheduling with this team. They plan ahead!
Love this property. Beautiful and very nice. Travis does a great job and is always very helpful!
Greatly appreciate the professional and friendly manner in which Shea processed our application. She is a great asset, not only for the company, but also for the tenants! Look forward to living in our Windtree Apartment Home.
Past resident of Windtree. Loved the amenities here. Covered parking, washer and dryer, and online resident services. Maintenance is very knowledgeable and has great customer service.
There is new Management here and the management is very good. They are older apartments but it is a pretty good area and friendly staff. I have seen a change in the management here and they are definitely working on making improvements. They replaced the appliances and had a new AC unit installed. Overall, it’s been a bit rough but Weidner seems to be stepping their game up.
Ive lived her almost a year now and it is amazing. I love having the park nearby to walk with my son and I really enjoy the feel of the apartment in general as it is very cozy and quiet. You get a carport for free which is amazing and there is a ton of storage space! Couldnt be happier :) Also the amenities rock included gym, sauna, and pool~
The staff has always been kind which is great but the cost of these very old apartments are just not justified. All the appliances are far out dated and the buildings themselves are poorly insulated so your A/C will run all day long running up a huge utilities bill. Over all its a decent place to live but simply overpriced. I would recommend looking at the many brand new apartment complexes in the area that are listing for the same price.
After living here at Windtree for the past four months, my wife and I can safely say that we enjoy living here! From having a pool, gym, park, and library, all within walking distance is a plus to staying here (not to mention a wonderful view of Pikes Peak!).The office staff is wonderful to work with, whether its submitting a maintenance report (they respond surprisingly fast), shoveling snow, putting on a great social event, or just the usual stop in and say hello, it is a wonderful place to live!
A nice place to live that is quiet and peaceful. The staff is great. There is a pool with a hot tub that is open from Memorial Day through September. Covered parking is available to tenants. It is right by a park. Walking distance from the East Library. Many of the people who live here have dogs. The only downside is they dont offer recycling bins on site.
Windtree Apartment Homes is a lovely, quiet complex near the East Library and a great park for evening strolls with your furry friends. Pet-friendly was a must for us when we moved to the Colorado Springs area a year ago. We had just arrived back in the States with our two little dogs and found Windtree online. We came by and just loved the place. Lenny and his team got us into a studio the same day so we didnt have to continue to pay for a hotel.Recently we moved into a one-bedroom and they made the move as simple as possible. The staff here is the best. Not just friendly — and they are that remembering your name, sending you an email when a package has been delivered, hosting a variety of resident get-togethers — but also efficient and professional. Our new move included a couple of repair requests and they were handled the same day. Every time we have had a problem, the maintenance staff has come and handled it the same day.If youre looking for a place to call home in the Colorado Springs area, my husband and I highly recommend this amazing complex.
I love it here! The people in the leasing office are really nice and friendly and wonderful. I am always impressed when a fellow resident comes in and they are recognized right away. There is a lot of natural lighting from the sliding glass door that leads to the balcony (or patio). Ive got a walk-in-closet and a washer/dryer in unit. Assigned covered parking is nice. Its a short walk to bus stops on Academy and a couple minutes longer of a walk (cutting through the park) to the plaza with Target. East Library is right next to the park (George Fellows Park).
Windtree has a great staff, beautiful grounds, a great pool, the apartments are large, they have full size washer and dryers. Windtree is one of the best apartment complexes in Colorado Springs. Windtree is next to a beautiful park and the east library, near good restaurants and night spots. Windtree is great place to live.
Easily one of the worst apartments Ive lived at. The people at the office dont care about their residents at all. On more than one occasion maintenance came to work on my apartment at 7am with absolutely no warning, when I complained to the office they told me one of their employees forgot to pass out the information and its out of their hands. People would blocked my car into my designated parking space and the office told me they had to be there over 24 hours in order to tow them so I literally could not leave if I needed to. I could go on for days and days but to save time, just dont rent from here unless you enjoy being taken advantage of.
Staff is nice, especially Shaelyn, I never had an issue with maintenance or the snow in the parking lot. The snow is always shoveled in the morning and the maintenance workers come in and fix the problems effortlessly and very quickly. The apartments themselves may not have the newest appliances or fancy light fixtures, but for the price, its hard to beat. All in all the community is nice, and having a park so close and a staff that will help solve your problems is something that a lot of other apartments lack.
I lived here for a year, just moved out this week.*Overall opinion, I would recommend this place.*Pros:-The whole staff always greeted me with a friendly smile.-The park. My apartment faced the park, and I loved it. Not only are there great views of the mountains, but it keeps the noise down and makes you feel like youre not right in the middle of town.-Where we were (on the southwest side) there were almost always parking spaces open. Keep that in mind when choosing a unit, because I dont think thats the case all the way around.-1 free covered parking spot-Master bedroom has an awesome closet.-They seem to update the appliances quite regularly. Although they cant promise you anything, we were pleasantly surprised to find that we had all new appliances.-Cheap deposit. While I pad a $500 pet deposit (reasonable), the deposit on the apartment itself was only $300.-A lot of dogs. I personally loved this as I never encountered any aggressive animals and I even made some friends through their pets. If you hate dogs, just know there are a lot around.-Free coffee/espresso machine. They often have some sort of party/food in the office, which is cool.Cons:-The staff seemed to change quite frequently. Im not sure if this is normal in the apartment office world, but it made you wonder. As of now, Shae and Maddie are in the front office and theyre both great.-If you have loud neighbors, youre going to hear a lot of it. We had pretty good luck with this, but our downstairs neighbors clearly smoked a lot of weed. Many days we would walk into our apartment and get blasted with the stench. As a non-smoker, this wasnt cool. They are older building though, so take it for what its worth.-Soliciters. There were multiple times that random people were knocking on our door trying to sell things. I dont know the apartments policy on this matter and I never asked for anyone to be asked to stop. So it was more of an annoyance than a lack of management I think.I went back and forth between 4 and 5 stars. Overall, the staff seems to care and do their best to keep everything organized and keep the place clean. There are some annoyances as with any place, but that comes with the territory of apartment living.Hope this helps someone. Happy apartment hunting!
The office staff here at Windtree Apartments always goes above and beyond, Lenny & his staff are always there to help when it’s needed, the maintenance crew is great always and they get repairs done quickly. I truly like living here at Windtree.
I currently work as the leasing consultant at Windtree, but I also live here. I have to commend the Maitenance staff. They are extremely friendly and know what they’re talking about if you ever have a problem. I plan on living at Windtree for a very long time.
They do a pretty awesome job here I love my place. They need a new hot tub that gets hot but overall an awesome place
The office staff is always responsive and takes care of any issue you might have immediately. The maintenance people are super nice and will go out of their way to help you out. I was once struggling to carry some new furniture up to my second-floor unit, and they saw me and stepped in to help out, which I really appreciated. Theyre also awesome about coming to fix any issues that might arise from the appliances. Ive been here for about 6 months now, and Ive had nothing but great experiences. The unit itself is also really nice. Roomy kitchen, big walk-in closet, excellent balcony. One of my favorite features is the huge sliding glass door that exits on to the balcony, as it lets in so much natural light. I really like it here and highly recommend it!
I love my apartment! My daughter and I share a 2 bedroom/2 bath on the lower level. It has plenty of space. We have been here for 4 years. The staff are professional, helpful and polite.I have read/heard people complaints. The complaints about snow removal I must say I have not experienced this, yes when we had the blizzard last year the parking lot was a mess but so was the entire city (I have a small car not a 4x4) I havent had an issue getting out.I agree that the building is old and in the winter the insulation has a lot to be desired but after they replaced the sliding doors last year there was improvement! It is my opinion that the negative comments that are made dont reflect on the staff as much as it does on the inconsiderate residents...you live in an apartment why do you feel the need to blast your music? If you live upstairs, why stomp going up the stairs at all hours of the night? If you have small children or dogs there is a great park right here take them outside and let them run, jump and be kids/dogs its good for them (my grandchildren stay with me a lot and they can get loud but thats when I take them to the park yes even in the winter there nothing like a walk in the snow to wear them out)! If you are having sex you know if your headboard is hitting the wall...move your bed...put foam behind it! If you have company make sure they dont park in a reserved spot...if necessary give them yours, after all they dont know the rules but you do! As far as the trash is concerned again it is nobodys fault but the tenants how hard is it to put trash IN the dumpster? The dumpsters get emptied daily I have a neighbor that will open their door and toss dirty diapers hoping they hit the dumpster but many times they miss...I could complain to the office or leave it for maintenance but I started picking it up and placing it in a bag with a note you missed the dumpster and since this is my home too I would appreciate you trying again. Believe it or not it has started to work😀. I must say it is my choice not to complain to the office because I know if I do Cherish would step in and do what she could to assist me.I am a single 55 year old female and I feel safe here, my daughter often works nights and comes home in the middle of the night and there has never been any issues. The reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 is because the rent is high and goes up every year by $100.00...so I know that I will need to start looking for another place to live soon because my daughter will be moving and it will be out of my budget which makes me sad I wish apartments all over placed put more value on good/reliable tenants and gave them a break when it was time to renew the lease. If the rent is within your budget I would highly recommend Windtree.
Horrible experience . This place is run by kids. Ran my credit after the apartment was rented to someone else . When I called to ask why they would do that after there was no reason to the girl there told me several lies that were contradicted to what she was saying . All lies or had no idea what she was talking about . The apartments have a out dated feeling and look to them . The manager said what is done is done and had no remorse . Take my advise . RUN ! There’s way better places in Colorado Springs . Googled and there has been gun violence and murder here . Please hire mature individuals that respect the people looking for a good home.
The front office is hands down amazing! They make everything too easy!
AC went out at the beginning of summer, its been a little over a month. Still not fixed after having 3 repair people come out. Had to take multiple days off of work to have them come. Finally an ACTUAL HVAC employee comes and says he cant fix it until later because the lines are frozen. Office tells us he will be back that afternoon. Continue calling the office on the phone 4 different times to get told that the repairman was JUST contacted and that he was coming out that afternoon to fix it. Never came. Get told it isnt really their problem.Get told he could come out the next day to fix it. Called out of work for a fifth time and called the AC repair people myself when they open at 0830. They tell me they have no clue about me being on the repair schedule, and the earliest they have is for mid next week. Have to wait until the apartment office opens at 1000 to find out what is going on.One of my dogs had a heat stroke, over $500 in wine and whiskey has gone bad, my partner is having allergic reactions to something in the apartment because there isnt any airflow and her throat and eyes are swelling up, and my partner and I havent been able to sleep or cook because its too hot. Told them alm of this and got the customer voice Well thats unfortunate but not our problem canned response.Consistently have problems with the office staff. Friendly but completely useless.
They have fixed everything for me and I enjoy it here.
For the most part its very nice, but they outright lie about shoveling snow. I was told they had repeatedly done it, but saw no evidence on the roads nor heard any machine as it was snowing. Well, it stopped snowing two days ago and they cant blame continued downfall. They just give an excuse about having only one contractor for 23 complexes. Then hire another! Duh! But another resident told me they simply never plow. Which for SUVs with 4-wheel drive is fine but I just moved here and havent had a chance to put on snow tires so Ive been locked in for three days.So depending on your car, this may not be the place for you. And that they would prevaricate about ANYTHING important is a bad sign.Update: This was written before the Great Blizzard. THIS time they were out right away! Maybe they read my review! I only felt I had to wait one day before trying to drive out and had no problem. Yeah, the new snow tires really helped, too!Ive read some of the recent complaints and its hard to see how we could be living in the same complex. But individual experiences do differ and usually those with bad ones are the ones who post, just as this post started as a complaint.
We love it here and the staff at the office are great
Gunplay and murder has occured at this apartment complex within the last two years. They charge the same as a brand new place across the street. The place is old and not well maintained. The management company Weidner is ultimately to blame since the local management has a high turnover rate. Very limited hours of operation. The streets are not cleared of snow or ice after storms. Carports are often blocked by other vehicles or spaces are not adequate for trucks. Pool and/or hot tub is not working 50% of the time. Mail does not get delivered or often goes missing. Broken computer room and cannot print if the printer has toner or paper. Workers are in and out of the gym constantly (to reach their utility shed and bathroom I assume) making it very uncomfortable for exercising. They gym equipment is either completely or partially broken. Stairs and railings to apartment have missing or snagging screws. Walls are very thin between units. A/C in upstairs apartments do not work during the hotter months and smell like your neighbor when turned on. Windows and doors are drafty during winters and windy days. Window blinds break often since they are super cheap. Appliances are needed to be replaced or fixed. Closets are ice boxes during the winter. Sinks leak water. All water (pool and landscaping) is charged to residents, but wasted by management and it goes right into the street during those months. Only one recycling dumpster across the complex for half its residents, which is often contaminated with trash.
DO NOT MOVE HERE. The price might make you think its nice but they show you an apartment COMPLETELY different from what they give you, they wont show you your apartment until your lease is signed and they will charge you misc and random fees, for water bills you never get to see (which was more than when I lived in a 3 bedroom 3bathroom house!!) whenever they feel like. Half my outlets dont work, the windows on the second floor dont have screens and even thought the AC was fixed it still doesnt get below 80, not to mention cars are constantly broken into and their gym is missing most equipment and when you run on the treadmill the lights go out! Ive lived around the US and I have NEVER had a problem from where Ive rented but, I guess it all caught up to me here because this place is AWFUL. This place is like a boat, you might as well throw your money in the lake! STAY AWAY FROM THIS SINKING SHIP. Especially if youre military. This place needs to be blacklisted.
I Took over a Sublet for a one Bed one bath apartment in May of 2015. Its building 2555 apartment D. I started out paying what the previous tenant was paying for the remainder of his lease(till august) so $725/month. Once that was up and I had to go to a month to month. They felt it was logical and appropriate to now charge me $1100 for the EXACT SAME APARTMENT. Might I add this apartment was DISGUSTING! The appliances were old and not working. The carpets were so dirty and coming up off of the floor, the windows had to be over 20 years old, and the bathroom had to have been from the 70s. The linoleum they had was stained and DISGUSTING! All in all this apartment should have been updated for them to charge that amount. They then increased my rent by $100 every month until I moved out. So at the end of it I was paying $1342/ month for a PIECE OF CRAP, run down, out-dated, ONE BEDROOM APARTMENT!! As if that wasnt enough!! I literally had THEE WORST NEIGHBOR anyone could have. This old lady who lived above me was TERRIBLE! It sounded like she was gonna fall through the ceiling every step she took. She let and encouraged her dog to run all around from 5 in the morning till 11 at night. This lady called on me for ANYTHING and EVERYTHING. From my dog barely barking because her dog was making him by running around and barking, from calling because I burped or had bodyily functions too loud. To complaining about when I have SEX IN MY OWN APARTMENT!! This lady truly was one of the most evil and rude people I have EVER had to live around. And to be honest I am a PERFECT neighbor. Yes Im young, but I work 12 hours 5 days a week. On my days off Im outdoors enjoying what my state has to offer. So I was barely even home. The times I was home I NEVER had ppl over because of the psycho who lived upstairs. And ANYTIME I would contact the office(Cherish is particular) THEY WOULD DO NOTHING! I got a notice on my door while the old lady doesnt get any actions against her for the HORRIBLE neighbor she was. One time this lady even started screaming and cussing at me and the office did nothing about it. This lady would bad talk me to neighbors right outside my door so I could hear (mind you this lady had to be in her late 50s early 60s) and the office would do nothing. So all in all this complex plays favorites with who they actually will help in neighbor debates. And obviously dont care about their occupants being comfortable in their own apartment. It got to the point I had to constantly be out of my apartment as I would get terrible anxiety having to deal with the lady above me day in and day out with no help from the office. So here I am paying almost 1350 for an apartment I cant even be in because of the neighbor and the office not doing anything about the situation. AS IF ALL OF THAT WASNT ENOUGH?? When I FINALLY moved out and I turned in my keys, Cherish did the walk through without me knowing I was on my way. She signed the move out inspection that stated what they were charging me for. When I showed up to the office to give keys that document was never even shown to me and says on the document not present to sign. I was there ten mins later!! So not only did she not show me any of the documents she then proceeded to charge me TWICE for multiple things such as, carpet cleaning $65x2, for my last utilities so $40x2. And when I get the refund check for my remaining deposit, it seems they cant do basic math either. As they didnt add my credits up correctly nor add up the expenses correctly. So now I am shorted $115 from my initial deposit, AND I got charged and had to pay an additional $113.97 for THE SAME COSTS THEY TOOK FROM MY DEPOSIT!! So now they will be hearing from my lawyer. All I can say is DO NOT MOVE INTO THIS APARTMENT COMPLEX! They are SCAM ARTISTS and will work you for EVERY DOLLAR YOU HAVE!! The office staff is rude and doesnt know how to properly manage a property!! Save yourself the headache and save your wallet!!
Just an average - lived for 2.5 yrs - no any major issues.
Rosanne or Roxanne whatever the hay her name is, shes rude as heck!! The ladies in the office all stink of rudeness, and a hint of ghetto!
Theyre all around awesome!
Just dont.
