Dina is the absolute BEST. My dip manicure always comes out good and I get constant compliments on my nails. Whenever I’m between options, she helps me decide. She cares to have a conversation and always remembers things about you.I also love getting a pedicure from Chen. She takes her time, has a lot of attention to detail, and also gives a nice massage at the end.My nails last a while (more than other places). Whenever people are visiting me from out of town I take them here.Just be sure to call ahead to book a time, but usually they can fit you in same day.Can get pretty busy, so if that’s a problem for you it might not be a good fit. However, it’s busy because it’s the best. I now live in a different neighborhood in the city and I still go back to old town for my nails.
I have been a customer at this nail shop for about 10 years. The workers here are very nice and welcoming to individuals of all ethnic backgrounds. It is always a positive vibe when I am there. Old Town Nails provides excellent service. I am always satisfied and leave with a smile on my face. If you are looking for a nail salon that offers a variety of services and take pride in their work you should give this place a try. Chau is the best!
Not a terrible salon, I just didn’t like the atmosphere. Seems like the people who work here are very judgmental, and not friendly at all, for the prices, you’re better off choosing a salon with nice employees! :)
Dip Nail service is fabulous! Clean space, friendly staff, quality nails, reasonable prices, no wait when I arrived for the appointment. What more could you ask for?
Great pedi, but this place was super crowded.
I’ve been going to Old Town Nails for 10 years. I usually have Chau do my nails. She is the best and my nails always look great. Over the years I have had some of the other girls do my nails and they do a great job also. And their prices are very competitive. I moved 2 hours away to Bloomington IL 2 years ago. I tried several nail salons down there but none of them used the right DIP product and never did a good job. So I drive 2 hrs back to Chau for her to continue doing my nails because she is that good. Can’t recommend Old Town Nails enough!
I have had the distinct pleasure of knowing Chau and her Staff for over 20 years; and in that time, she continues to amaze me with her knowledge on the latest Nail Trends; along with providing excellent Customer Service! Whether I get a Pedicure, Acrylic Fill-In, or going all natural; Chau and her Staff not only use quality products; but, they also exhibit compassion and kindness in making sure your nail experience is nothing short of being top-notch!!Thanks, Chau and the entire Old Town Nails Staff for simply being...the BEST!!!
A little disappointed.. The people are nice but I was the first customer and I was rushed. Everyone wanted a regular mani and pedi and I wanted a no chip mani/pedi. As soon as I sat down, I wasnt able to turn on the massage chair because they immediately tag-teamed both my nails and toes (no one else got tag teamed). I was not able to relax, turn on the chair, spend time getting work tasks on my phone while I got my feet done or anything. I walked in at 10 and left at 10:30 on the dot, which is insane to me. Spending money to pamper myself, I expect to relax a little- at least. My nails are OKAY.. theyre not exactly what I wanted because I had no time to coach what I wanted while responding to both the ladies and my boss on my phone. Idk.. just a little inconvenient while others maybe prefer that- not exactly what I like. Dont think Ill be returning.
Dina is perfetto! I get dip with her and my nails always look so good!
Very nice for letting us change our appointment last minute. But charging 5 dollars for a ten second scrub (which I think is usually included at most nail places) for a total of 32 (27 for pedicure and 5 for scrub) seems excessive. Also 35 for manicure?! Since when?!
I have been getting mani/pedicures here for years. No specific manicurist. They are all good!
I have been going here for nearly 15 years. The place is very clean, the girls are all knowledgeable for both manicures and pedicures. The owner is extremely efficient. Every time I get my nails done here, I get compliments for weeks. I would never go anywhere else unless I was traveling and had no choice. Highly recommend Old Town Nails.
Wont go anywhere else to get a no chip! $35 for both removal and manicure. Everyone knows what theyre doing and takes their time to give you a beautiful manicure that will last. May take a little longer than most places because they are so thorough but its always worth it. Employees are lovely and always happy!
They charge $10 to remove gel that they put on my nails. Which is I guess fine, but after they removed the gel all my nails were cracked with the way the did it. They were so rough on my nails. Not to mention the attitude I had to put up with while getting my nails done. Never going there again.
Excellent salon! Great dip nails and pedis. Love it!
I had a terrible experience here. I came here with my girlfriend and they made us pay and tip before we even had our nails done. They hurried us, and our nails look terrible. I could have done a better job myself. They hardly cut my cuticles. I am never coming back.
Been coming here for years. Very accommodating, yet don’t make you feel rushed. The BEST nail salon around. Hands down. 👍🏼👌🏼❤️
Good nail technicians, pleasant atmosphere, latest trends.
Love this place. Great service and quality. My no chip actually lasts beyond 2 weeks!
Best Nail Salon anywhere Ive ever lived. No one else trims, shapes, cleans, polishes, or massages as well. I wait until Im back in Chicago to get my medi/pedis done here. All others shops are only satisfactory. Old Town Nails is superb.
They are very well staffed and efficient. The place was clean and spacious enough. Today was my first time here and I got a no-chip mani. I was very impressed with the amount of time spent cleaning my cuticles and the attention to detail in doing my mani. She painted 3 layers of polish, which i prefer to the 2 layers I usually get elsewhere.
Unfortunately I came across this place...I asked for a gel full set manicure..and they gave me a price at $45 first...and then changed it to $65 when they had already started gluing my nails. Next they just began gluing on the nails without prepping my natural nails. The “nail-tech” glued my index finger very crookedly and I ask her to please redo it before she had even began sculpting the gel on. I thought it was nice of me to let her know beforehand because I know they need to other people’s nails. She was very reluctant and said “not yet!””wait”.So I waited and it looked the way it began “crooked” and ”weird”. If the manager hadn’t come by and told her to redo it, she would of left it like that. After redoing my the nail she did it crooked again. Not only was she being rude and unprofessional but she was making the place look bad with her small minded behavior..she was speaking in Vietnamese to another worker about me. Obviously ignorant people such as those assume people won’t understand them. They seem to not be aware that people could come from family that speak or come from that culture. I felt disrespected. Instead of enjoying and relaxing in a nail salon, I felt framed along with urgency to walk out and to never come again. There needs to be discipline in that place with some of those workers because they are disrespecting the customers thus loosing customers..some people can understand don’t be so clueless. In the end I stood quiet and patient and even payed for the service but, didn’t tip her because of her foolishness. And I know better toNEVER come back here again!
Greta customer service. Did the nail dipping, two coats and after a week my nails cracked. I came back in and they listened to my concerns and said to try three layers of the powder and it worked. No cracking!
My wife’s nails are gorgeous from here. They did them for our wedding and will always do them as far as I’m concerned!
My manicure and pedicure looks great. Matter of fact it is excellent. However, I took a star away because I found that the staff was childish. I crossed my legs and unknowingly smudged a toenail. They made a scene about it. I was very apologetic. They do good work but its not worth being belittled.
This is my nail salon of choice. They are highly professional and my manicures turns out beautiful and holds up well. And I would not go anywhere else for my pedicures, they do a job that is almost medical.
Ive tried Old Town nails quite a few times as they are right below my apartment. I usually dont give negative reviews, but Ive had a few bad experiences here with the actual manicure and the service. If you are looking for a quick, below average manicure that will last only a day then this might be the place for you. Its an assembly line basically you are bouncing around from one manicurist/pedicurist to another. They seem to favor those who have a big rock on you hand. I once got no-chip here, and it was a giant bubble on my nail that peeled two days later! I guess you get what you pay for.
Appointment started a bit late because they were very busy for the 4th of July. No complaints because they do GREAT work and completely re-did my nails after I ruined them that day at work FOR FREE.$25 dollar pedi? Yes please!
My girlfriend comes here for manicure and pedicures and I have been in with her. The ladies do a very nice job and the spa pedicure chairs are very comfortable and relaxing.
Friendly, great selection of polish and usually not as busy as other neighborhood spots - which I enjoy! Mani, spa pedi with massage chair and current magazines always makes me happy.
Best selection of tip colors around.
One of the best mani-pedi deals in Old Town. They have plenty of colors to choose from and their technicians are efficient and experienced. Best part is they have so many technicians working that there is barely ever any wait. Down side is parking can be difficult and expensive (with the new paybox rates) so factor that into your total price. I would definitely return if Im ever in the area again.
Its been a week and my no chip looks great - however, the customer service isnt very good. $35 for a no chip and I had to ask her to stop digging into my nails because their so thin AND she didnt even put lotion on my hands. I can get a hand massage and a shoulder rub at the salon closer to my apt. Wont return.
Will never go back here. Got a 30 pedicure that lasted maybe 10 minutes. No scrubbing of my feet, no callus removal, no massage, not even any lotion. Other places spend 45 minutes on my feet. Think twice before coming here.
My fave neighborhood go-to for manicures!
I have been going here for 10 years. I get the no chip mani and it is fantastic.
Had a lovely experience there
