Place that rips off - The haircut was not even what i asked for and this guy said me the price was $25, which is definitely not worth for this place.The figured out that im not local from the conversation and just jacked up the price on the fly.Beware, Had to remind the guy i just paid $15 month ago. Super unprofessional.

Been going here for years. Mike is the best barber I have ever met, the guy is honestly a legend! you can count on everyone else there to cut your hair. Great conversation atmosphere and vibes. You will not find another barbershop like this in Chicago!

Took my two boys, ages 7 and 6, to Mike today. He did an amazing job. Probably the best haircut they’ve ever received. He was friendly, took his time, even used a straight razor for part of the job. You can tell he knows what he is doing. I will definitely be back and will be sending my husband to the next time he needs a cut. For kids, it’s not fancy and doesn’t have all the bells and whistles like some of the kids salons I’ve taken them to. But the haircut was so much better! And I brought my own suckers to give them at the end since that is what my kids now expect after haircuts.

I went in and was about to sit down, then two guys walked in and the barber told me to wait so he could do the other guys hair first. He made sure I was wearing my mask but didnt say anything to the other two guys who didnt have masks. After he finished with them he cut my hair. I told him to leave the front long, but he cut half of the front off very short. Honestly the worst hair cut I ever got. I will never go back there again. Ive been there before..Mike is great but some of the guys he has got there are terrible. If Mikes not cutting your hair..leave quick.

The staff is always very attentive to your style request. Mike the owner always had his eye open for top notch Barbers. I can always stop by to get my Hair cut and the vibe is always talkative and lite.

Honestly, the worst cut I have ever received. Just before I sat down there was an unsatisfied customer walking out and I thought of leaving but didn’t which was a mistake. Definitely not going back

I came here for a trim and a shave the morning of a big interview. Mike was great, he was friendly and made me feel at ease, and did a wonderful job on the cut. All of the services were reasonably priced. I will certainly be returning here for my future barber shop needs.

When I moved to Chicago 5 years ago I lived on Elston down the street from Mikes. I didnt have a barber and thought since Mike is my name, why not try them out. Fast forward to present day and its the BEST and ONLY barber shop I go to when I get my haircut. Top end barbers with the skills to cut all ages and all textures of hair. Will be my barber until I leave Chicago.

Neighborhood shop where the cuts are superb and Mike is the man to know. Expert with any style cut and all barbers are friendly and courteous.

Best cut in town, drove 2 hours into the city to get my hair cut and trim my beard.

Guys were cool in there but one of the guys cut a huge chunk out of my beard when trimming it. He looked at me, I looked at him and he didnt say anything... just kept trimming like it was no big deal. It was an uneven trim also. I wont be going back again.

Mike is the best cutter. He just need to listen when his customer says that the customer is right--because he is a customer too and you pay for what you want. That is what makes you right. You are spending you money and want a particular thing...So if Maurice isnt there or Terique isnt available then you will have to do my grannys hair, (if not I walk.) I will call ahead. My grandson, was made to feel very uncomfortable with that guy--he said it before we left. And I told you. He said that guy put his FINGERS in his ears as he was cutting. Never had that happened before, with him or his dad when I was raising him. And when he was done, he said he brushed his face very hard unlike anyone else had done before--hes ten he knows. (Was that to get back at me?) If you tell someone how you want something done, and then you step up to him and tell him again, because you feel perhaps he didnt understand and then he looks at you like; I know what Im doing and then he continues as he wishes--then that isnt good customer service. You are jovial and appear to be nice Mike, but if your customer says something, like I did you should have stopped him or corrected it, and not make me feel like I am the cutter or at fault. I am the customer who told him what I wanted. I should have gotten him up from the chair myself, and left. LESSON LEARNED! So I will be talking to my husband to see how he wants to handle it. If he wants to come back--if hes alright with it we will call ahead. And really what got me was after he finishes he steps to me and says when you ask for a bald fade--that is what you get you should have said dah, dah, dah-- I had tuned him out by this time. And said I did tell you that I wanted a bald fade and I explained what I knew it to be. I said: I wanted a bald fade; take a little off a down here, and then a little less as you go up --then a even a little less the higher...and then even the top off. See he wasnt listening or do not respect women. And then when I saw he didnt listen or didnt understand that is when I said to him quietly how I wanted it AGAIN, there was still time for him to correct it. Next, I said to him, and everyone heard it. That is right, that isnt what I wanted. He never stopped to talk or anything--you did. And you took up for him saying just wait youll like it--well we didnt want that kind of a cut. I dont know if he is your relative or what, but you should not take up for anyone when a customer says he was not pleased, try to find out what the deal is. You are telling me I was going to like it--doenst make me like it. The hair cut was okay, but it isnt what we wanted. And for sure my grandson, didnt like it or him---and felt strange because of this guys action. And unlike the regular guy --he was not pleasant with a child..he said nothing but turn your head this way, sticking his finger in his ear?! And brushing his face with the brush roughly. And my husband and I are big tippers we always gave that other barber Five bucks, but I gave him nothing because of his nasty ways. He didnt put on any alcohol when he finished and you had to use the sponge, he didnt do that either. signed Dr. White
