Erin made my year by absolutely slaying when I wanted over a foot chopped off my length and a side shave!! I always liked the vibe of Floyds in general but not only did she do an amazing job with a fun cut, she was an absolute DOLL the whole time, so energetic and fun and sweet! I dont know why Id ever go anywhere else now.

This was my first time going to Floyds and loved it. After having my requests ignored at another place, Aurora was so refreshing. I had a few specific ideas and she made them real like the real pro that she is. Shes incredibly kind and funny, made me so comfortable and relaxed that I didnt feel like getting up in the end. As I walked in I had my temperature taken, and was asked if I had been waiting on a covid test, had any symptoms and all the other procedural questions. I noticed that after every guest they cleaned the seats and disinfected everything the guests were touching. I had a fantastic experience with Dylan S cutting and styling my hair and I absolutely love the results. We had several different organic conversations throughout the cutting and styling session. Really such a fun person loved them. I have curly hair and they really knew how to help me style it and showed me excellent products to use later. I went in for the first time to see Dylan to cut off my ends. I have color treated hair and we ended up deciding that maybe we should cut all of it off. I literally fell in love with Dylan and the way she did my hair! I was not disappointed at all which I always am when I got cut my hair but not this time. Ive been going to Floyds for several years now. Originally started going to their Loop location as a walk in, always had a good cut no matter who did it. Now Im going to the Lincoln Park location for my favorite stylist, Mel C. Ive been getting my hair cut by her for about 6 years now, shes funny and relatable if you want to have a nerdy stylist to chat with during your hair cut. Between the Loop and Lincoln Park stores Ive been to, the staff is always friendly, reliable, and communicative.

My experiences here continue to surpass my expectations. Aurora is a talented, thoughtful and knowledgeable stylist and I feel so well taken care of in her hands. I recently did a dramatic bleach and color, going from my natural brown to silver with lilac undertones, and Aurora was so helpful every step of the way and knocked it out of the park! I never really liked getting my haircut because hairstylists would ignore my requests or style my hair weird but I trust Erin to help me make my hair visions come true. Shes always super friendly and checks in throughout to make sure Im getting exactly what I want. She takes the extra time to make everything perfect.I get compliments on my hair every day.

My boyfriend gets his hair cut here frequently, so I decided to book a last-minute appointment yesterday — Im talking, I booked a 1:00pm appointment at 11:00am. When I arrived my hair was dry, frizzy, and felt pretty damaged. This all changed after sitting in William W.s chair, and I am forever grateful. I mean it, *forever* grateful!Heres why: Upon sitting down I shared that Id been using new shampoo that made my hair feel dry. It was pointed out to me that there was actually product buildup on my roots (I was even shown the buildup and it was so gross, haha). I was overjoyed to receive tips and feedback from William on how to keep my hair soft and keep my scalp clean and oil-free without being overly dry.My hair has felt both dry and oily at the same time for years, and breakage over time has been noticeable. Ive honestly just not taken many steps to research how to prevent this breakage, but this one visit taught me so many tips that Ill use forever. I also now know to stop sleeping with my hair in a tight, messy bun, because my hair breakage is not my favorite. 0:)The safety precautions taken here are very obvious as this place is spotless, and thats comforting.Thank you so much to William and the team here, cant wait to come back.

I cannot recommend Aurora enough! I walked in with a botched bleach job that I thought would be totally unfixable, but Aurora carefully restored my hair to a beautiful, even platinum that looks and feels super healthy. On top of that, she also gives me the best haircuts I’ve ever had. I usually get an asymmetrical bob, but I know they’d kill it with any haircut. Thank you, thank you Aurora! You’ve saved my hair!

Had an absolutely phenomenal experience here earlier today. The receptionist was kind and prompt, and omg my stylist!Aurora is the best! She got this skin fade sooo nice and tight, it is CRISP!And we had such a great chat and laughed! I do not typically review places, but I feel like my experience yesterday warranted a review. I had an appointment for 12:30 PM. Upon arrival around 12:25, my temperature was taken and I was asked to wait with a mask on (totally normal). However, at nearly 12:45, I was still waiting and nobody had come to check in on me/give me an update/etc. Therefore, I went to the front desk and inquired about when I would be seated. I then received a response from the woman on her cell phone that she “Would need to go check” like it’s surprising for a customer to be asking this question after sitting for 15 min after the scheduled start time. Zero concern was given, so I walked out.Normally, waiting 15 minutes would not be that big of a deal. However, Floyd’s website/automated phone message/email all explicitly say they are appointment based because they do not want people sitting around waiting for appointments. That’s the whole point of making an appointment. Further, the genuine lack of concern from anyone (not just the front desk, but also from whomever was going to cut my hair) added to my concern.I’m unsure if my experience is an outlier, but need people to be aware that just because you make an appointment, your appointment timing may be “flexible”.

They are doing a nice job through the pandemic of continuing to offer a good service in a safe environment. Taking things very seriously.

I have been a few times so far. The staff is friendly and listens and makes sure you are happy with your hair.Once you been a few times you start to have a preferred barber/stylist for your hair. They also offer recommendations and guidance on how to keep up your style between visits.

Had my appointment rescheduled for 30 minutes earlier with a different stylist, which was fine. My new stylist, Liset, was not prepared to start on time, which is also okay because they squeezed me in. However, she was extremely rushed and didnt listen to what I asked for. Because of covid and trusting the professional, I let it be. After getting home I realized that Liset either did not understand what I asked for or did not care.

I had my last haircut there and it was a bit of a disaster. I admit it was a walk-in off the street and the guy may not have known what to do with my hair. I am an older guy who generally gets a short cut that appears longer. You have to know your stuff to do that. This guy, who was a very nice guy, didnt seem to have ever met a scissors and I just dont think you can hair like mine with clippers. I did notice that there were a bunch of women stylists who looked far more expert. I thought of giving it another try with one of them. All I can remember is one had 1969 tattoo high on her back, but I dont have a clue who she is. Its a cool looking shop and everything about it was great but the cut. I am willing to give it another try, but havent been able to decide how to go about it.

Love going to Floyds to get my hair cut. I am sure all Floyds are great because they all operate under the same model, but this one is my favorite! I always make sure to book my appointment by phone or online if Im looking to see a specific hairstylist or trying to go at a specific time because they can get packed. Walk ins are welcome as well, though. They offer coloring, cuts, shaves, for any and all people! I especially love getting my hair washed and the free hot towel they offer you for your face (extra relaxation!). Floyds is great, stop in sometime.

Today was my second time coming to this place. The first time was a lovely experience, but this time around not so much. I was in the neighborhood and was in need of a haircut so I walked in and asked the gentleman at the front if they were busy... he scheduled me at 1:30 pm. I asked the name of the stylist and he ensured me that she was going to do a great job. I got my haircut, she was surprisingly fast and I paid and everything. I didn’t really get a chance to look in the mirror while being at the shop. I paid and left only to realize that I hated my haircut when I looked in an actual mirror... in a restroom nearby. I asked for a low fade, it was very uneven and patchy all over (with lines everywhere, she missed some spots)... and the sideburns were a mess. Since they are very PRICEY I DECIDED to come back, asked for a manager (but the same guy told me she was busy). Another girl fixed my hair as much as she could, she was nice and this wasn’t her fault at all. But overall I still wasn’t satisfied with the customer experience... I will never be coming back to this place again. You would think that for that price range, they would be extraordinary with their haircuts and customer service, but they flopped. Don’t waste your money here it’s not worth it.

Great cuts & staff is very friendly but needs staff assigned to walk ins. Dont expect a haircut if you havent made a reservation a couple of days in advance as they are either always booked solid or unavailable. My schedule can be unpredictable I havent been able to make an appointment and have been told on dozens of occasions that they will be unable to accommodate.

People are very nice. I always leave looking good. Its not the best ever but they are efficient and almost always have availability.

Cool vibe and great service. This is a chain but Ive been to multiple locations and always had a good experience. The prices seem fair and the stylists really seem to know what they are doing. For about a year, I tried a few higher end and bargain priced places in the area and decided to come back here - my old favorite - because it couldnt be beat. They play great music, too. Go to Bry - shes awesome.

The shop manager Amanda is not even a licensed cosmetologist or barber so I have no idea how she even got the job but doesn’t surprise since you have a bunch of cosmetologists masquerading as barbers, poor bald fade quality, the haircut belongs to a barber and not a cosmo.

Everyone was very professional and incredibly nice. Unfortunately, I just spent the whole day trying to convince myself that I like my haircut and I dont. Its not what I asked for.It was more disappointing that there were only one or two products to use to curl my hair. I wasnt aware I should bring my own products. I will take the blame for trusting their word that they know how to do mixed hair. I looked like Samuel L Jackson in Unbreakable when I left that salon. Unbelievable. Lesson learned.Again very nice, professional, and reasonably priced. But being nice didnt get me the haircut I asked for.Big disappointment and wasted money.

I had a great first haircut here. When I went to set up another appointment, they mentioned that my previous barber was no longer with them. Since then, I have given them two chances. Both haircuts were very poor. I have a very simple and traditional comb over cut. One cut the top too short where it couldnt comb over for weeks. The next, left the back of my neck very long and buzzed around my ear way too high on one side. I do not plan on returning.

She was friendly and was great at talking through what I wanted the end result to look like. Shell definitely be my go-to person for my haircuts.

Had a great first experience here. Called and asked if they took walk-ins and they set me up with an appointment for an hour from the call. The woman who cut my hair did a phenomenal job. She asked what I wanted but also provided some of her own opinion (as a clueless man I need it). Got a free shampoo with it being my first time. They offer a shaving service but I was told those need to be booked a week or so in advance. I will go back to Floyds again when I need a cut. I just wish I had remembered the name of the woman who cut my hair... I am bad with names.

I have been going to this Floyd’s for years. Even when I did not live in Chicago and would fly in for haircuts. The reason is simple, I will not let anyone but Amber L touch my hair. She is the GOAT, the Michael Jordan of hair.

Everyone seemed welcoming, the wait time wasnt terrible for being a Sunday afternoon, and they have a wide array of reading materials. Im now loyal to Floyds for as long as theyre giving great service and reasonable prices.

They took down my review so I guess ill just have to post it again. I went in about a week ago to make an appointment and was greeted by the seemingly friendly receptionist, I think her name was Jessica, when I told her that I preferred a male stylist her entire attitude changed and she became very short and rude. I began to explain that it wasnt sexist and that Ive had multiple bad experiences with female stylists in the past working with my difficult hair, but she wasnt interested so I just let it go. She then told me that the only male stylist available was a guy named Isaac but not until 6 so I accepted this and said I would come back then. When I came back at 6 she still had a bad attitude with me and it was really uncomfortable. About 20 minutes after 6 Isaac comes to get me and he doesnt introduce himself or apologize for the delay, he just tells me to put my stuff in the corner and then points at his chair for me to sit in. I then decided Id try to make light of the moment by saying to him well I managed to make the receptionist hate me to which he responds really? Okay... What do you want me to do with your hair? With an attitude. I was like would you like to know why? And he literally says not really... So Im sitting there super awkwardly wishing hed actually just not touch me and wanting to leave and i realize that Ive pissed off the entire salon for having a preference. I then tell him that Im just going to leave and he just keeps up his attitude and plays dumb like he has no idea what Im talking about... So either Im nuts or these people have major issues with someone not wanting a female stylist. (Btw on the website it asks if you prefer a male or female)

Quick and easy! Always get a great haircut and the barbers are always great! Only downside is the price- which is above average for mens haircut its usually around $28 without tip.

Called at 10:15, they said 20 min wait. got there at 10:30, didn’t even get seen until 11:20, 10 people went in front of me. After all that my haircut was not what I asked for. I specifically said 4 times finger length on top and it was 2 finger lengths at least. I will never go back.

Absolutely awesome service. Been going here since I moved down a year and half ago and have had a few different stylists/barbers, each one was fantastic. Straight razor neck shave and massage are quite a perk too.

Cory has been doing my hair for 10 years now (started with him before he was at Floyds). Still make sure to go back every time Im back in Chicago. Much more convenient now that you can book a time a week in advance.
