While my fiancé and I are excited to move to our forever home in the burbs I’d be lying if I said there weren’t aspects of 73 e lake that I would miss. The staff are incredible I loved everyone there and always looked forward to hearing “welcome home” and happy Friday from andrew at the front desk. The little things they did to make the pandemic easier were amazing like leaving a care package of TP on our door and celebrating every national holiday like even national ice cream day was a special way to make it feel like a community. The maintenance staff was so efficient and kind and I would recommend this building as a first choice for anyone moving to the city. I will look forward to popping in and saying hi and the next person who rents my apartment should feel blessed. It’s been real 73 e lake. Thank you for everything
Hands down The best staff! This build is beautiful and so well maintained. They love their residents and it shows, with regular parties and events. The location is great and has easy access to public transportation. Also Close to many city events. I can’t say enough about the amenities. Pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room, 3 workout areas, patio with grills, cooks kitchen for entertaining, private offices, movie theater, computer stations, dining event space, + amazing top floor with dining area, lounge area outdoor space and beautiful view.
Highly, highly recommend 73 E Lake. The units themselves (with to-die-for views) and the rooftop / 9th floor amenities are top-notch. It was such a happy place to come home to for two years.I wasnt originally considering living in The Loop actually, but once I saw the gorgeous views from the corner 2 bedroom unit (best in the city I think), the high quality amenities / pool, and the friendly staff, I was sold. Everything was consistently amazing. The door staff knows the residents by name and are so friendly and helpful (I miss Andrew already!), and Dawn and her team are great to work with and organize fun resident events, esp. around holidays. The location is so walkable (to River North, El stops, State street shopping, mag mile etc.), and has a fun patio taco place next door and tons of food options nearby. I loved living here, so highly recommend!
I really loved staying at 73 E Lake for 10 months. It was my first home in Chicago and I felt very well welcomed from the moment I moved in. The amenities are superb - the two (!) gyms are great, really like the rooftop, the barbecue deck and the pool/sauna area and I used the bike storage room. The unit I stayed in was also great, high quality in all fixtures and appliances. But the real stars are the staff. Very friendly and very professional at the same time. Always helpful and made me feel at home from day 1. I also think they did a great job navigating through the pandemic, with good communication and eventually reopening the amenities. Big shout out to all the great people working there!
The amenities at this building are wonderful. The doorman and staff is great. The office and the leasing team however is the worst Ive ever dealt with. They are unfriendly, rude, and will go out of their way to ensure the home you pay quite a bit for- does not feel comfortable to be your home. Unfortunately due to the leasing offices unprofessional demeanor - I no longer felt like I could even be in comfortable in my own home. Their professionalism got even worse once my notice was turned in.
I lived there for 3 years in 3 different units. The layouts of each are thoughtful with unique flares like a movable kitchen island/ glass barn door for the convertible studio model. The bath-rooms are very spacious and the floor to ceiling glass windows are breathtaking. The building has great amenities, with wonderful staff that are very welcoming. Andrew in particular is very kind and helpful! Their kindness made me feel at home and safe in the heart of Chicago.
I was fortunate to call 73 East Lake Street Apartments home for my time in Chicago. My boyfriend and 2 dogs were immediately at home while also being blown away by our location and views for days. One of my favorite amenities was the indoor dog run. Chicago isnt necessarily the most dog friendly nor generous with grassy patches along the sidewalks so having this large indoor dog run was priceless. I enjoyed getting to know all of the employees and tenants along the way. The front desk and office has some of the most wonderful people who I will truly miss since Ive left Chicago. Im so happy I chose this home!
Ive been living at 73 E Lake for over 4 years and have nothing but great things to say. Apartments are nice and do not have the huge pillars in the corner that a lot of new construction has. Amenities are great - heated indoor pool, gorgeous penthouse lounge, gym, etc. Location is perfect - close enough to River North, all the museums and work. On site management and maintenance are both fantastic. Always helpful and quick to respond when there is an issue. Just saw a number of buildings in Chicago and still renewed my lease for another year.
The garage siren goes off all the time and is an obnoxious high pitched whine that you can hear from the apartments. Once you notice it you cant get it out of your head. No other parking garage Ive seen has a siren that goes off everytime a car leaves so I have no idea why this apartment does.
Great until you move out. The property management charged us to replace all of the hardwood floors, provided no evidence of damage, and then would not work towards a settlement. The property management then sent the bill to collections. The property management here was awful.
Look elsewhere. The apartment itself will be nice. The leasing office is hands-down the worst - unprofessional, rude, and will swindle every cent they can out of you - will continually target you until you are so uncomfortable at your home - you are forced to find another.Oh, and then they will step up their level of unethical and prejudiced behavior . For the luxury living, their rudeness is the only free and consistent thing you will see while staying at this apt.
Great luxury living experience.I thoroughly enjoyed being a resident at 73 East Lake. Located in the heart of the city walking distance from restaurants, parks, shopping, sporting events, and amazing views, I could not ask for a better place to call home. I call in my peace in the middle of the city, hustle, and bustle. The grounds and amenities are clean and well kept. The staff is friendly and personable. Most of the staff knew me on a first-name basis. 73 provides fun interactive events for transparents like me to network and meet new people.73 responded quickly and professionally to COVID-19. 73 East Lake Residents safety is a top priority. 73 even made commendations for residents who were laid off during the pandemic. They genuinely care about their residents. I highly recommend 73 East Lake.
Incredible staff and awesome amenities! Ive loved living here and I highly recommend it.
We lived here for 3 years and were so sad to leave! Dawn and the entire building staff were very friendly and welcoming. It felt like home from the first time we toured our apartment. The amenities are in pristine condition, and I already miss the amazing atmosphere at 73!
I have lived at 73 E. Lake for almost one year. This building is a wonderful place to live. Management is attentive and cares greatly about its residents. Should any light go out or something else in your unit, maintenance is quick to fix issues. The managements attention to health and safety during the pandemic has been incredible. Ive felt very safe living at 73 E. Lake. The location is convenient to everything the city has to offer (transportation, restaurants, shopping, parks, etc.) Its a wonderful place to live and is very well-managed. Id recommend anyone live here if looking to live in the central Loop. Also the amenities, finishes, units, everything are incredibly high-end. The layouts are great with lots of light, storage, and room to make it your own!
I lived at 73 e lake for 6 years and would’ve stayed forever if I could have. The building is beautiful, in a great location and has every amenity you could ever need. Dawn and her team do a great job keeping everything in tip top shape and the doorman crew are amazing. Wonderful place to live.
Our time at 73 East Lake was wonderful! Dawn runs a tight ship, keeping the apartment well-maintained and in beautiful shape. The door staff, especially Andrew, was always extremely helpful and took their duties seriously. We will miss this special building!
LIVE ANYWHERE ELSE. The only good thing about this building is Andrew the doorman. The management is atrocious (never responds to emails) and will nickel and dime you the second you move out. This has happened to 10 of my friends who have also lived in the building. They treat you like youre a college student living in a dorm by the way they reprimand you and talk to you. There are so many better options. DO NOT MOVE HERE.
While we mostly enjoyed our stay here, we were disappointed in the way the leasing office treated us at the end. We signed a 15 month lease here, which required a rather ridiculous 60-day move out notice. So after about 12 months, hoping to renew our lease, we started reaching out to the leasing office to work something out and then heard... essentially nothing. Finally, after several repeated prompts, on the last day which their 60-day move-out notice was required, we received an offer, definitely increasing our rent a lot. Our net effective payments as they call it, but still within a certain degree of reason... We would probably have actually agreed to it, but they curtly rescinded their first renewal offer and and then gave us a new one - increasing our payments up even further to a downright absurd level for our studio/jr1 unit. Scrambled, still hoping to stay, we tried to talk with them, again and again, amiably and in good faith, to bring our rent more in line with the higher end cost we were already paying. Getting nowhere, we initially asked for a short-term lease extension, and then again heard...nothing. No new lease for us to sign, and getting evasive, unhelpful answers, or just outright ignored, we started looking around, and realizing fully what a comically stupid deal we would be getting if we stayed, we made the hard decision to move out. This time they actually did get back to us! In order to readily screw us over by fully enforcing their 60-day move-out notice, and extending our expiring lease for about another month. Don’t make the same mistake we did. Just give your move-out notice right away up front. Get. Everything. In. Writing. It’s a shame because the amenities are really nice and the maintenance and front desk staff are stellar and will absolutely go above and beyond for you. We were hoping to stay, but now that all the loud construction is going on in that area and we are paying much less for more space, we are glad to be out.A couple of minor things you should know if you are planning to live here. You are really not allowed to clean your floors, because the wood apparently warps if it comes into contact with water, oil, or any other liquid cleaner, so they can get kind of grimey after awhile. The average electric bill was also about twice as much as they initially told us it would be. Although they initially told us it was due to our usage, when we had moved out and had a forced extra month added to the lease, the electric usage in the unit remained high even though nothing was plugged in. Com-ed pointed the problem back to the apt bldg. Leasing office did not allow Com-ed access to investigate.
Extremely rude doorman, not enough parking in front of the building, try to avoid that place.
My husband and I (and our two dogs) lived at 73 E. Lake for just over four years, and we loved every moment of our time there. As everyone else has mentioned, the amenities are great, but what sets 73 E Lake apart for me are the incredible staff and the dog-friendly atmosphere of the building. We had lived in a few different high-rise apartment complexes in the Loop/South Loop over the years, and the 73 E Lake was by far the best. The staff (shout-outs to Andrew and Ira!) and the Manager (Dawn) were always so friendly and incredibly helpful and accommodating. When we moved out of the building (and out to the burbs), I had booked the wrong day on the elevator and the management team was incredibly flexible and helpful to make our move work.As for dogs, the dog-area on the 8th floor of the garage is really convenient and is always well taken care of and clean. It is hard to find an apartment building that will accept Siberian Huskies, but 73 E. Lake was more than happy to have Kira in the building!Honestly, if we werent leaving the city we would probably never leave this awesome community. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
Recently moved in and experienced a great first resident event. They put on a great super bowl event for all the residents. Amazing food and great company. Thank you for all the work to make this complex feel like home.
I have lived here for 4 years, since 2015 to 2019. It is a wonderful apartment that feels just like home, everyone in this community is super nice and friendly. I really want to thank myself that I have chosen 73 East Lake to live among all the apartments in Chicago four years ago. The staff here are amazing. And the facilities here wont let you down. They also have a 2b2b room in the apartment for your friends and families to stay when they are visiting(My family really liked that room). Anyway, I would definitely recommend 73 East Lake as a sweet place to live to student and people who work in Chicago.
We were lucky to call 73 E Lake home for two years (2018-2020). Everything was fantastic, the staff was always friendly, amenities were great and well maintained. We loved our life there and will miss it!
73 East Lake is the best community we have ever lived in! The manager Dawn and the entire staff are very friendly, helpful, attentive and genuinely care about the residents. From chic, modern decor and upgraded amenities to exercise and cooking classes to holiday/superbowl parties, 73 East Lake has really fostered a welcoming environment for residents to bond. Everything you need is in the building - bike rentals, laundry service, gym, pool/spa, movie theatre, coffee machine, maintenance services, kitchen/dining room, fire pits, lounges and even pet spa and dog park! The building itself is always clean, centrally located off Michigan Avenue and within walking distance to many attractions, shopping, restaurants, nightlife, groceries etc. We have been very happy living here the last 4 years and highly recommend 73 East Lake if you are looking to live downtown in the East Loop!
I lived at 73 E. Lake over the past 2 years and was very happy with every aspect of my experience. The entire staff is fantastic- I cant say enough about Andrews hospitality at the front door, he truly goes above and beyond for every resident. The amenities are second to none, and the location is fantastic with restaurants, shopping, and transportation at your doorstep. So sad to leave such a great place I was lucky enough to call home.
We lived here from the summer of 2017 to late 2018 and loved it.This building is very well managed. The people at the front desk are helpful and friendly. We could never hear any of our neighbors through the walls. Anytime we submitted a work request online, the maintenance people always fixed the issue within a day.The location is great as well. The wife took the brown line to work in Lincoln Park and I rode the Divvy in the protected bike lanes to work in the Loop.
An overall fantastic living experience. The staff is friendly, the building is well maintained and the location is perfect. No issues with bugs.Elevators always work.Amenities are new and well kept. The gym is clean. The rooftop is awesome.Always a good time grilling and hanging out by the fire pits.Close to multiple gyms and grocery stores. The underground pedway is right next door.Close to the blue and red line - easy to get anywhere in the city.A great place to call home for me and my dog Lincoln.
Only stayed here briefly, the building is nice and clean. The guys at the front door are very nice, extremely helpful and welcoming. It’s a really nice building, the only thing for me was the noise from the cta trains, quite loud at night and even during the day, so struggled to sleep most nights, Opening the windows caused a loud whistling noise (not sure why), got electric shock every time I pressed the lift button or touched any door handles (again not really sure why). Finally had little contact with the leasing office and l can’t say they were the nicest, seemed to go back on their words quite a lot.To conclude, this is a nice building, the location is good but just make sure you get an apartment high up and not facing where the cta line runs.
I cant speak highly enough about 73 E. Lake. I called the community home for two years with my girlfriend and dog and we loved every minute of it. The apartments are spacious, the building has amazing amenities, and the management and staff are always friendly and attentive. It is the perfect location and it checked off all of our wants for a luxury building in downtown Chicago. I would highly recommend the community to anyone looking for a place to call home.
Best apartment here!!!Friendly stuff, beautiful lakeview and nice swimming pool! There is my second hometown!
I lived at 73 E Lake for a little over a year and the experience was nothing short of perfect. Dawn, Debbie, and the rest of the management staff are very helpful and make you feel at home right from the start. The amenities (pool, sauna, steam room, movie theater, two fitness centers, etc.) are among the best in the city. The apartments are modern and elegant, and offer the best value when one considers the location in the city and amenities offered.
Just moved out and was very sad to do so :(This is an amazing building in an awesome location, there are grocery stores, shopping, L stops, nightlife, etc etc all within a few minutes walking. The staff was very helpful and friendly, there were endless amenities that had friends in awe, and of course the views are incredible. Only complaint I had was about the strict rules on friends & family visiting and using commons areas, otherwise this place is 5 stars easy. Regardless, if you want to have a bunch of friends over, the units are very spacious. Oh, and the walls are SOLID, you will never hear your neighbors. If you can move here, do it.
We have lived at 73 East Lake for a year and a half. Beautiful building, best amenities, lots of activities if you want to participate. Apartments are spacious with the best views from most units right in the heart of downtown. Loved being so close to the Riverwalk! What made this experience the best was the people who work here. Every single person from Dawn the building manager to the door staff (especially Ira and Andrew), to maintenance are the kindest most professional people ever. If we entered a maintenance issue (which was usually just light bulbs needing changed!) they were at our door within 10 minutes. I loved hearing welcome home every night after work from the door staff! This is a dog friendly building and even my dog was treated like royalty. Our city adventure is over but I will miss the staff here the most. Thanks to all of you for truly making this feel like home!!
Wonderful, attentive, friendly and attentive staff. World-class facilities, like the gym, indoor pool and spa, and top floor (42) lounge. Perfect central location, if you dont mind hustle and bustle. Overall, a great place to live and come home to at night.
Ive Lived at 73 East Lake for two years and cant say enough nice things. The amenities are awesome... pool and sundeck, community computers, great workout facility, plenty of community spaces, and a gorgeous rooftop. But more importantly, the staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. So nice hearing welcome home when you walk in the door. The location is convenient to everything, yet its kinda quiet and tucked away, which is a nice touch. I have a 34th floor, corner unit with North and West views. The view is absolutely stunning. Youre literally in the skyline. I have friends over and they just sit and stare in amazement. If youre searching for a place, put this one on your list, its pretty fantastic.
The staff and management at 73 E. Lake make this a nice place to live. Whenever there are issues (whether it be issues with neighbors or something needing to be fixed in the apartment), the staff are courteous and prompt to address the problem. The apartment complex is also conveniently located to several public transportation options, as well as numerous restaurants and activities. If youre looking for a more affordable option in the Loop where the staff will prioritize getting to know you, you can do no better than 73 E. Lake!
73 East apartments puts on great events for their residents! Thank you Dawn and Alex for all you do up!
I lived in the building for almost 2 years, and I am so sad to leave. My apartment was beautiful, the views are fantastic and the fixtures were modern and fresh. The manager and staff were wonderful. Everyone knew my name (and my dogs name) and were so friendly, welcoming and responsive. It was great to come home and be greeted by Ira or Andrew, the best security team!!The shared amenities are amazing - fantastic views from the 42nd floor lounge, a community Chefs kitchen, theater and indoor pool. I frequently would sit on the roof to read, have a drink or watch the sunset next to the fire pit. The location cannot be beat and is close to everything.Overall, 73 East Lake experience was fantastic, I am so glad I chose this building when I moved to the city, it was the best decision. I will be moving to DC, and will truly miss calling the building home.
Dont take a lease here!!I just moved out, and I see all of my ex neighbors doing the same! Everybody hates it here and tries to leave asap. The management is terrible: expect to be monitored constantly. Also, they wont state it before you sign, but rules for guests are extremely strict. You could get in trouble for having too many hosts at your place, or getting people up for a barbecue. You will be asked questions if you have friends staying for the night.Expect to wait 30 minutes every morning for your elevator.By the way, Its very interesting to see that this page used to have a lot of extensive negative reviews; but somehow, they all magically disappeared, and have been replaced by nice 5 stars ones! Check reviews on Yelp!Just run away, there are many new buildings much better than this one, and with a professional management team.
I just moved in on January 17th, 2017 and love my new home! The office staff including Kara, Julie, Ben & especially Dawn are outstanding!! I went to go smoke a cigarette at 1:15 am the other morning and saw Dawn cleaning the elevator after a very large dogs accident. This really showed that she cares about her building. The amenities are the best in the city and kept so clean. My apartment has the best views looking at all the historical buildings in the city including a river view. Im so glad I choose 73 East Lake as my new home!
I have been here for 2.5 years. It has been a pleasure living in the very well run building. Highly recommended.
I have been living here for almost 2 years and have toured every other luxury apartment building in Chicago for my job. 73 E Lake has some of the best amenities in the city. The management is unparalleled and so are the views!
Great place! Weve lived here for 5 months. Very family friendly. Its nice having the pool open all year. Maintenance staff is excellent and fixes everything immediately. The doormen are fantastic and very accommodating. We looked at a lot of places in Streeterville, River North and Lakeshore East and this was our favorite. The price is quite good too.
Top notch property and a staff that is second to none. I can’t say anything but positive things about this building and its staff. The design and layout for the rooms and amenities are perfect and very well thought out. There is very little wasted space, which is something that deterred us from other buildings in the area. The pool and hot tub are open year round and there are dedicated parking spaces available for visitors where the first 4 hours are free. We had planned on only staying for our initial yearlong lease, but we just extended because of how much we have enjoyed it here. The neighbors are great, the door staff is always wonderful and you couldn’t ask for a better property manager than Dawn. 73 E Lake is hands down the best apartment building in the Loop.
Amazing management and staff, especially Dawn. Fantastic location, wonderful amenities and the nicest doormen around. Plus the building always hosts the best events on the rooftop!
I lived at 73 E Lake for 2 years and absolutely loved it! Great place to have a dog!
73 E Lake is a great place to live. The amenities are spectacular and the doormen are out of this world.
Great location, amazing staff and amenities, really enjoyed living here!
Having rented over 10 years in large cities Ive learned a lot about quality of buildings, and having recently moved in to 73 E Lake has been the most impressive experience to date. Not only is the building aesthetically lovely with over the top amenities and high end in unit features and details, but the location is ideal as its literally a few blocks from the Riverwalk, Lake Michigan, Millennium and Maggie Daly park, CTA/Major El stops, shopping, etc. Youre right in the thick of things without the excessive noise level. But what really sets the building apart is the level of professionalism and attention to detail of the staff. They always go the extra mile to make sure you have everything you need, (Julie in leasing is remarkably helpful) and demonstrate a level of respectfulness and resident care that Ive not seen before- even in a luxury building penthouse in Miami. My personal priorities include being able to come home to a quiet, private, peaceful environment with no stressors. Dawn, the property manager has a great eye for detail and makes sure that we all have a pleasant, beautiful haven to come home to. The level of cleanliness (even the dog run!) is top shelf- I always see people cleaning constantly, sweeping the front sidewalk, opening doors for people, etc. The building even smells lovely all the time. Upon move in after I did my walkthrough there were only two tiny items I wanted to point out to them and within 10 minutes I had two maintenance men in my unit addressing them immediately and offering us a jar of touch up paint should the movers brush against a wall. I feel like Im treated as a guest in a 5 star hotel, but full time. The other thing to point out of note is that the buildings security is well above average. I lived in what many would think was a high end building in the Loop by the Mart but even with a 24 hr front desk person it was amazing how many people just walked up into the resident elevator with crowds, no one really signed in they just scrawled, and you would never guess by looking at it but there were considerable criminal activities occurring that you wouldnt be made aware of unless you knew who it happened to. Personal safety is very important in the city, and 73 E Lake makes sure that to one is getting to the resident area without contacting you first, and no outside parties just wander in with the herd. This provides great peace of mind as well.I would highly recommend anyone looking for a more family friendly (there are many young professional families Ive seen) or adult professional atmosphere to put this building on the top of their list if moving. Ive already told many friends. Yes, there is a mix of people of all ages and lifestyles here, and occasionally you hear a little noise in spurts on the weekend, but NOTHING like some buildings Ive lived in or visited, and its never intrusive. Plus I have no doubt that with one call to the front desk and it will be addressed. Residents here seem very polite, respectful and private as a whole, and I like that.I saw a number of new buildings in the Loop/New East side and as a singe working professional who puts in long hours and wants to be able to come home to a great environment where you actually get what youre paying for. I found the building to be a perfect match. Its rare to find a building without at least one or two major drawbacks, so I wanted to share my find ;) City life is fun, diverse and exciting, but its the icing on the cake to have a beautiful haven to come home to after all the hustle and bustle of it.
Moved to 73 from the River North area and I couldnt be more happier here- its like home!! The building is quiet and its so nice living in an apartment building where you cant hear your neighbors!!! Also, the amenties are superb and the management team is like family. They are so wonderful and they are always doing little things for the tenants to show their appreciation. Parties and gestures, wine and cheese, neighborhood introdutions to other companies, clubs, gyms, etc. PLUS they offer great discounts and many times when Im coming home from work there will be restaurants setup in the lobby offering free dinner samplings!!! It really is a wonderful building with wonderful apt floorplans, its dog friendly with dog treats at the door and the doormen give the dogs cookies everytime they come in the door, a great management and building staff, great amenities, parking onsite, and you couldnt ask for a better location. Its close to every single line of the L and the Metra!! Also, within a five minute walk to the lake and the river! If you are looking for somewhere to move and make your home, be sure to consider 73 East Lake!! You will not be disappointed...unless of course you dont like great things.
I’ve lived in 73 East Lake for the past 2 years and must recommend the building to anyone looking for a home in downtown Chicago. Management, door-staff, and maintenance are all more than amazing and do everything necessary to make 73 more than just a home. The community feel, work-friendly environment, and amenities provide the little-touches to comfort any resident. My colleagues and I have spent the last 2 years running daily operations out of 73 East and have been able to successfully grow using all the amenities the building offers. Bringing clients over, consistent Wi-Fi, free printing, and morning coffee has provided us with all we need. Whether it’s the cyber café, private meeting rooms, or the private dining and 42nd floor, we have always had space and privacy to get what is needed completed. All in all, 73 East has been not only a home to me but everything in between. If you’re looking for a home, community, and management/staff that treats you like family do not look any further.Thank you RMK, 73, and everyone in the building.- Also posted on Yelp.
Beautiful apartment building. Highly recommended.
Beautiful building, nice apartments, incredible views!!! Love it !
I lived here about 2 years. This place is really suck. People from leasing office just use their keys to get into your apartment to check something without your permission. NO PRIVACY AT ALL. WORSE ATTITUDE.
