I visited this building on an apartment tour and I was honestly a bit grossed out at how dirty it was. The carpets were unclean, especially in the elevator. The amenities space was unclean as well - it seemed like the pool was unkept. Although, the units were clean and up to date.

Peak Properties management has been amazing in assisting me in the process of renewing my lease. Specifically, Judith and Annabella have been completely responsive to my issues and theyve always responded in a timely manner to any questions and concerns I had. Im especially impressed since I know theyre also very busy with the renovation process of the building. The renovation is coming along nicely and the renovated exterior and interior looks great, and I look forward to enjoying the building and its remodeled amenities and rooftop pool.

Ive lived here for 3 years and the new building management has done an excellent job updating the building, communicating to their residents and fast resolution to any issues (esp. Judy)! I feel well taken care of living here!

Ive been a resident of 21 E Chestnut since August 1, 2020; the building has consistently been under construction since I moved in. Unfortunately, they renovate unit by unit, and so basically the renovation process has been slow and arduous. If you work from home, the sound of drilling will interrupt all of your Zoom calls, and even wake you up first thing at 8am. Wish I could upload all of the videos Ive taken of the noise in this building.The elevators are constantly occupied by construction workers, so youll wait 10 minutes to get into one--usually one out of two is completely out of order, reserved for construction.Basically since I moved in its been a bunch of difficulties with management (which thankfully was recently fired); accounting issues; and even some scares with vermin. Considering all of this, the building is ridiculously overpriced--paying luxury prices to live in a construction zone.I will say that the rooftop is nice, though they closed it for 5 months lol.UPDATE: someone was shot in the neck in a carjacking attempt outside of the building this week and the management has yet to acknowledge it. Honestly abhorrent.

I have lived in 21 E Chestnut for almost 2 years. The maintenance men, especially George, are extremely responsive, diligent and kind. The new office team have been wonderful and very accommodating. The units are beautiful and the location is unmatched. Live here!

I have lived at 21 E. Chestnut for nearly 29 years. It has been a great first home for me. The location is accessible to everything you could want, or need. It is walking distance to the Water Tower Place mall, the John Hancock Center, and Navy Pier, as well as numerous department stores, and tourist attractions. The building is newly renovated (2020) and offers a host of amenities. To name a few, it has a state-of-the art fitness center with fabulous views, private work areas to check your emails, etc., and a beautiful swimming pool. Additionally, for those wanting to continue your education or begin it, the building is steps from Northwestern University’s School of Medicine and Law, Loyola University’s Communications and Social Services Departments, and a 5 minute ride downtown to DePaul University. Public transportation is within 1-2 blocks in whichever direction you venture out in. Please take a tour of the website for 21 E. Chestnut – you will not be disappointed. V. Garner

I lived here for many years, the remodeling is fantastic and the amenities are second to none. The staff here is great and attentive. Its location is perfect to take advantage of all that Chicago has to offer.

This building is AWESOME!!! I’ve been searching for the last month & had become overwhelmed. But, then there was 21 E. CHESTNUT 🌟🌟🌟. It is perfectly located, has lovely amenities and is being updated 👌🏽. Kristen, has been wonderfully attentive, professional & thorough. During the current times, I greatly appreciate the quality of my experience thus far. TOP NOTCH!

We have lived here for a very long time and always loved the building. But now 21 E Chestnut is becoming a really beautiful place to live. Unbeatable location, long overdue internal and external renovations by the Peak Properties, very nice and understanding Onsite Manager Judy Truong and a great maintenance team, especially George who have been helping us all those years. Even though I did not have chance to move here because of my moving data issue, the room was wonderful once I visited and toured recently. Clean and well renovated. I cannot provide five star because I did not actually live here, but I had a feeling this is a nice place for single person.Besides, the leasing agent, Kristen, was a wonderful person. She was always helpful to answer my questions through the phone, and her email responses were really quick. Even though I wasnt able to lease from her, I was impressed by her professional attitude.

I love this building! Incredible views and great updated apartments! I have 3 different friends who live here and I am considering it as well! Their roof top deck is one of the best in the city!

Because of the changing COVID situation, we were never able to move to the final stages of living in the 21E building. However, their agent, Kristen was completely responsive and more helpful than any of the other agents at other buildings we tried to work with. We would totally work with her again. The only reason we cannot rate it a 5star is due to not being able to speak to living at the location. Call Kristen if you need help there..she’s great!

This place is absolutely perfect for anyone that would like to live in an amazing location with luxury quality finishes and amenities.

I just stayed a few days in this building when I was visiting Chicago and felt sad for my friend that is currently living there. Constructions everywhere and saddly we heard it from a lot of people inside. Managers have to give more attention to the building residents.

Do not move here. New company that just took over in March does not care about their tenants. Construction work on all floors and vacant suites all throughout the day. We’ve had to leave to go work at other family members houses multiple times now due to noise and the construction won’t stop for a long time. Closing the roof this summer for construction too. Building management did not care when dealing with complaints left and right from tenants about noise.

My whole family has lived there over the years. Staff is VERY nice & helpful. Gym, Sauna, party room. Awesome rooftop pool & deck.
