Horrible airline. Booked with them months ago and had several gate,flight,plane, and seat changes before our actual flight all of which were serious downgrades to what we initially booked and paid full price for. Loaded less than half the plane (which was changed to a much smaller plane for a 3.5 hr flight) and had to check carry ons. Also had a broken bathroom so all passengers were limited to one working restroom for a long flight. RUDE attendants and late flights on top of that. Top all that with their ridiculous woke politics and it’s by far the worst airline we’ve ever used along with United.

It would have been nice of they had announced that the leaving gate had changed. Fortunately I checked the board 10 minutes before the flight left, only to find out that the gate had been changed and we still made the flight.

Booked a straight flight to Mexico 6 months ago both ways. Aa cancelled both and put us on flights with stops in Dallas. Only gave us an hour and a half on they way back from Mexico to get through customs and get through security again. We had to run like crazy, beg people to let us get ahead, and security people told us we should have been there earlier. Planes are packed like sardines. Lady next to me didnt want to pull up her mask, and the flight attendants didnt say anything. The lady told me I need not to worry because Im protected. Crazy witch. Now we are stuck luggage claim in a long line because our luggage came earlier, and there is only 1 service person.

We were stranded in Chicago from Thursday until Saturday. They canceled our Thursday flight to what they said was weather and other airline flights were still taking off! Saturday they canceled again, after we had checked our bags!! Waited three hours to get our bags back and missed our alternate Milwaukee Southwest flight. Going to Milwaukee tonight to fly Southwest tomorrow morning. American made us miss our family reunion and because they lied and said it was due to weather they would not compensate us. Never again American Airlines, you suck!!!!

Thank you American ear lines for taking care of me. . I had no Id busted ackle after I gave them a few papers and proof with out id they let me thew. They very friendly and very professional . Ill be be flying with you guys again .

This airline deserves negative stars. My flight was delayed four hours. After four hours, there was another delay making the departure time at midnight. At approximately 12:30 AM the crew announced the flight was delayed until 8 AM, and they were unable to accommodate anybody into hotels as they were full. So passengers ended up sleeping in chairs and on the floor waiting until 8 AM. The only redeeming part of this awful experience was that meal vouchers were provided. I will never ever fly American Airlines again, I was astounded at how unprofessionally and apathetically everything was handled.

Cancelled my flight 2 times in 1 day and made me fly to a different airport. They did not even offer me a voucher to stay in a hotel or any amount off of my next flight after waiting for more than 14 hours in an airport doing nothing… never again AA.

First plane the engine was smoking- fair enough so they sent us to another gate. That plane also didn’t get the pilot’s green light so we had to head to another gate where, at 11pm, we were told there wasn’t enough flight staff? They shipped us off to a motel but the shuttles were not running that late so we all had to pay $50+ to Uber… but guess what, the airlines gave us business cards WITH THE WRONG HOTEL ADDRESS! I ended up paying over $100 in Ubers to two different motels. It gets worse. I ended up missing my rebooked flight at 6:00am the next day (didn’t get to the motel till around 2am) because of exhaustion. When I called to get on the next flight, they tried getting me to fly into another airport and city because they overbooked the rest of the flights to my original destination. All of this was done with little to no empathy or reimbursement. Disgusting company!

First off the flight was delayed and no reason was given. Second I was picking up my daughter who has social anxiety and has never flowen into ohare and was told by customer service that I would be able to meet her at the gate. I go to get my gate pass and I am told that I cant meet her that she would have to find her way to baggage claim and I can meet her there. The ticket agent at the airport was rude. I have had such great service on southwest airlines and will be going back to them.

American Airlines has great customer service. Even when they gave me the wrong boarding pass, they owned up to their mistake and Ilhan tried to fix the situation. People make mistakes but not everyone owns up to messing up. Ilhan at #ORD dud his best fixing someone elses mess.

First and LAST time flying American. Stranded for 3 days. Hour and a half flight home turned into 2 two and a half hour flights. I award you no stars and may god have mercy on your souls. If American is your only option for travel, choose the Greyhound Bus. Guaranteed to get you home DAYS before American will.

In one 3-leg journey I had to find a new gate 6 different times, and lost an hour each trip due to delays, reasons for which were never given. And that doesnt count my last trip, either, which went about as well. Rude and short-tempered employees, especially at Chicago OHare. I book my own flights and will never consider touching this airline again.Update: add one more gate change and delay, after spending all night in an airport that was all but shut down. Comment on OHare: So this is the busiest airport in the U.S.? Could have fooled me. Nothing happens after 11 pm.

Cramped seats, inflight movie was good. They tried to make the seats more comfortable with adjustable headrests but I found them ineffective and the seat hardly moved back. The person next to me was not completely fitting in their seat and was a good inch into my seat. Thankfully I had a lovely window seat behind the wing but felt trapped. Would not want to have an aisle seat next to a stranger or a middle seat as I am more one that needs to lean to the side to sleep. The flight was smooth and I got to my destination safely which was important though the air vent was not hitting me and I felt hot, sick and trapped. Best part was getting off plane at destination.

I always have low expectations for American Airlines. However the terrible quality of service overall combined with an airport that seems to always be having some sort of weather issue just make it an overall terrible experience. They did not have a pilot for our connecting flight so we ended up getting delayed for 5 hours and missing our connection in Vegas.

Was told I was being upgraded to another window seat accommodate seating arrangements, I paid for a window seat and was in fact downgraded since the row I was put in had no window and much less room. As an American Airlines Citi bank card holder and loyal member I was disgusted by this trickery
