Friendly, welcoming staff. Very thorough and informative. I learned things about my teeth that I never knew. Follows great COVID protocols. I felt safe with my mask off during my procedure.

I would like to start off by saying the office is very clean and well kept. The Receptionist was very polite and pleasant. Every concern that I had was thoroughly explained to me on what my options were, but most of all the everyone from the receptionist to the hygienist, the dentist assistant and the dentist was so welcoming, polite, pleasant and comforting! My 1st visit to Harlow was great. The entire staff was extremely welcoming and they educated me on additional ways to take care of my teeth. I’ve been going to dentist my entire life and normally they all provide the same education. Harlow provided additional tips that I wasn’t aware of. And office vibe is great also! When I tell you they are amazing, they are AMAZING. And when I tell you I am the worst patient, I am the.worst.patient. But everyone here was so amazing with me. I saw Dr. Patel for my consult, and I was in a lot of pain. A day later I was back and Dr. Harlow was performing a root canal and extraction. It was pain free and so much quicker than I expected. Everyone was so thorough and understanding and kept checking on me and I felt no pain at all!Jessica was super helpful with all of my questions, she emailed me after hours when I needed to be seen and was in pain and got me an appointment the next day. I’m so thankful I reached out and they literally took care of everything else. I just had a root canal and an extraction and I’m telling you I’ll be a patient here for life! Thank you everyone at Harlow for helping me, I’m so appreciative!

Great denist experience it was clean everyone was professional and the service was awesome and fast

I gave it 3 try’s and I’ll pass. During my first visit I felt pretty comfortable. I came in because I had been experiencing jaw pain for about 2months. They did a cleaning and x-rays, and let me know I needed my wisdom teeth pulled and cavities filled, and that since I was in my 2nd trimester it could be done in 2 sessions (left side, and right side). The dentist said that after removing my wisdom teeth, I would stop biting my cheek and the jaw pain would be gone. I had questions in between and the receptionist was very helpful(she was the reason I actually felt comfortable) in getting me answers. The day I came in for my procedure I was super nervous(not the dentist aspect, I have had plenty of cavities filled and teeth pulled), I was just more so worried about recovery and risk for my baby. Before starting the dentist came in and asked “was I ready”, I asked if after this that my jaw pain would be gone, he said “I would stop biting my cheek which would alleviate the pain”. The fillings were more painful than when he pulled my top wisdom tooth. The bottom wasn’t so nice. I was pleased with my recovery packet(my husband had his teeth pulled at another location about a year ago, and received great detail and a recovery bag). My “packet” was a couple of verbal instructions, 2 pieces of paper, a pack of gauze, and 2 scripts. They also said they would call me the next day, but didn’t and I had to call them because one of my fillings had a sharp piece left on the side(i could feel it every time my tongue passed it). They scheduled me, a week after my procedure(my mouth was still hurting). They took me back, I showed her where she left excess. Another lady came in, she never introduced herself, she just asked the other “girl what we got going on”? I tell them where it is sharp, after 2 times of them filing in the WRONG place, I place my finger in my mouth to show them again. She finally gets it, and then polishes(the polish feels better than the original). I had to ask her how my extraction spots look(which I feel they really didn’t even look at), she said “they look fine”. So i then asked should my jaw still be hurting? They questioned, the dates and said give it another week, continue the warm water salt solution, and that she would call and check to see if the pain had went away. My jaw pain is still here, I never received a call, and my cheek gums are molding to my extraction spot. I shouldn’t have gotten the teeth pulled here.

I do also appreciate the other dental staff that assisted me many times as well, always with patience and kindness. Lastly, I would just need to know where you get your music playlist from? LOL... Im always humming or tapping. No boring elevator music, Great distraction and chills staff and environment... Highly recommended!

This was my first visit to Harlow Dentistry as a new patient and I have definitely found my new dental office! The entire staff from the front desk, to the hygienist and to Dr. Harlow himself were all incredibly welcoming, professional, and just great at their jobs. I was also impressed by the way they are managing during Covid. Ensuring that there are not multiple people in the waiting area, great sanitary practices, etc. to be honest I had been a bit nervous about going to the dentist since the pandemic began but now I am at ease. Highly recommended!

Honest! Twice this place has saved my family from other dentist who claimed one of us had cavities and we really didnt. Now this is the only place anyone in my family will go! Dr. Harlow and his team are absolutely fantastic! I had my first exam/cleaning today, and my experience from start to finish was great. The lady at the front desk was so sweet, and she did a really thorough job when going over my treatment plan. My dental hygienist kept me laughing and did a great job with my teeth—super thorough and gentle! Dr. Harlow was very nice, and also did a great job explaining everything and even taking the time to get to know me. I’m actually looking forward to my next visit in 6 months. I had an AMAZING experience at Hawthorne Dental 7th St. After moving to Charlotte a year and a half ago I had not been to the dentist and was slightly embarrassed. The entire staff was extremely welcoming. My hygienist did one of the most thorough cleanings I’ve ever received and my mouth has never felt so clean. Dr. Patel was so sweet and informative. She talked me through everything she was doing and asked me multiple times if I had any questions. They were very upfront about the cost of my next appt and even gave me a print out, booking my 6 month cleaning was also a breeze. So happy to have found my new dentist!

My experience there was a wonderful experience. I was reluctant to go to any dentist because of some bad history with other dentists. But from the time I got there to sitting inside the chair for my x-ray it felt as easy as one could expect. They continued to ask me if I’m ok and kept reassuring me that I’m doing great. My last two visits were terrible. First, Dr. Patel filled two teeth that were side by side with one filling. I couldnt even floss!When Dr. Harlow was doing the repair, he did not listen to me when I said, I can feel that. I have never cried in the dentist chair! To add insult to injury, he said, Lets leave this in 2020. Well, Im leaving Harlow Dental in 2020!

Now it’s Dr. Harlow and his team, and I recommend them to everyone. I was looking for a Dental office in which I could relate to and knows my community. Harlow Dental was recommended to me through my Charlotte Black Business group on Facebook. I sent an email along with questions and received an Email from Jessica the next day and schedule an appointment. I did the paperwork online, which took about 5 mins. Today I walked right in and I was greeted by Jessica, then Wisked away to the X-ray room by Kima.... The Mary J Blige of the Dental World...lol After XRays CiCi the Hygienist can in did her thing, informed me my bone strength and the the man of the Hour Dr Harlow came introduced himself, exchange some pleasantries. The whole experience was easy, great service, wonder people and I got about four more visits, so I be seeing my Dental crew again soon. Absolutely experienced professionals that will tell you exactly what you got going on, provide a plan and execute!

Everyone their is amazing. I needed an emergency appointment they got me in the same day. Very greatful to all of them.

I did not have a good experience here. My appointment was at 8 AM and I did not go back until 8:30. I did not leave until 9:45 and was trying to get to work. Not only did I spend almost 2 hours here but I was told my insurance did not fully cover as much as I had hoped and they went ahead and did x-rays and everything without asking first and I was charged for all of it. I still had to pay $80 for x-rays and $200 for a cavity to be fixed WITH insurance.

Everyone From the receptionist to the Dental Assistant to the Dentist are amazing. They are professional, considerate and Funny 😂I would definitely recommend someone else who needed Dental work done

Dr. Lester is fantastic! I’ve been a patient of his since 14. His work and staff are great! Dr. Lester always asks about my father (also a patient) and about school; he even remembers my school and major. I have never had any problems. The staff even call and text with reminders so you won’t forget your appointment. I recently underwent orthodontist care for one year. Now that I am in Graduate school in Durham, I routinely made the 2 hour drive every month for my appointments. They gladly worked with me if I was stuck in traffic or left Durham late. Amanda Strokes, I am with you. During a crown placement the doctor drilled into a neighboring tooth and just sanded it down some. exactly what happened to me. A temp crown was placed while the permanent one was ordered. A week after, I was called in as my permanent crown had arrived. The procedure that was to take 10 minutes took closer to 2 hours as the crown was not fitting in. The doctor kept drilling and drilling... this resulted into him drilling into my neighboring tooth and sanded it a little bit. When I reported the issue to Dr. Lester, i was given an appointment so the doctor can examine the tooth. The doctor blamed me stating I broke my neighboring tooth... That is undeliverable!! Why break the neighboring and not any other? Another interesting piece, on my way out that day the new lady in billing handed me unpaid invoice that needed to be paid stating it is the bill that was not previously paid by Insurance. Immediately, I contacted my insurance and the insurance company had no unpaid or pending claims from them. This is the first time I had seen that invoice. If the invoice is genuine, they have been instructed to submit a claim by my insurance.. Another similar situation is when the Doctor had to perform my cleaning... guess the hygienists didnt show up that day. The cleaning took just few minutes and it was terrible!!

After 7 years as a patient i am leaving your practice. I have continued as a patient largely because the hygienists were always so good. The turnover increased in your office and good hygienists left more and more quickly, as well as office managers and another dentist who I had hoped was going to be taking over your practice.I witnessed this dentist verbally insult staff in front of patients, blame hygienist staff for mistakes made by the doctor, had both sides of my mouth numbed because Dr. Lester was about to fill a cavity on the wrong side of my mouth, i had to stop him at the last second. During a crown placement the doctor drilled into a neighboring tooth and just sanded it down some.I have replaced my occlusal guard with this office 3 times and i continually recommended to use one, I have been seeing the doctor 3 times per year versus 2 because I have such bad staining and at my last (and I do mean last) cleaning is was recommended to me. This cleaning was performed by the doctor himself and was pretty bad. My teeth that usually look whitened after a visit to this office when a hygienist does the job still had visible stains on both sides of the teeth. This could have been that Dr. Lester arrived to the office 35 minutes after my scheduled appointment and rushed through the job.i was charged full price and likely for some services I did not receive that day - I can not yet confirm this because I have not yet received an itemized bill of service or my medical records as requested with a release signed. These were promised by noon on Monday 02/12/2018. Today is Thursday 02/15/2018 and I have not yet received these documents.

I have been a loyal customer of Dr. Lesters for 10 years. Hes very professional and his personable skills are top notch! His staff is remarkable and very knowledgable. They are always available to answer my questions and always get back to me at the time they advise. I recommend his dental office every chance I get. I have been with Dr.Lester for 18 years. In my family there are eight kids and two adults. Dr.Lester is a family-oriented doctor. I like when I go for a visit he asks about each one of my children; all are grown except one. Most doctors offices do not allow you to bring more than two kids at a time but his office accommodated me. I will recommend him to anyone who is looking for a place where you go for a cleaning and then dont have to wait for months if extra work is needed. My wait time is less than 5 minutes in the lobby.

I’ve been going to Dr. Lester’s officensince I was 16. I am 26 and expecting a baby and he’s cared of me greatly over the past 10 years. Clean, on time and makes sure I leave knowing the care plan for my teeth (that have been difficult because I have a seeet tooth, liver disease and a blood disease) he’s amazing.If I had a complaint, it would be that several times I have come not expecting to pay for anything and then walking out with a bill that needs to be paid immediately. I hope during my next visit they can tell me ahead of time so that I can prepare to pay my out of pocket expenses. It’s only right.

To make a long story short. Dr Lester has destroyed my LIFE. I lost my girlfriend,MY SON, my JOB and my sanity. Dr Lester performed several dental procedures for me in the last few years. Most were out of pocket due to my economic situation. Dr Lester charged me $1000 for root canals that I had to pay in 3 pays each time I came to his office. $400 for step 1, $400 for step 2 and the. $200 for the core. of the this went on for at least 1 year then he chose to do a root canal on a tooth that had no decay but was dead at the root. As a PROFESIONAL I trusted him. As a BLACK PROFESSIONSAL MAN I trusted him even more but now Im left with today. Today I have an uncompleted root canal with a metal file broken off in it with no one and no funds to fix it. Its hard. I cant find a lawyer that will help and Im lost out here. Dr Lester broke a file in the tooth and also allowed his dental assistant to act as a dentist and place a 24ml file in my #9 tooth which was only at the depth of 23 ml abd then tried to cover it up by rushing me out of HIS office with no clue in what was happening but I went to another dentist that confirmed it. He even stated that he would pay for my tooth. Thats not enough.
