This was my first time at this Friendly Dental location being that I moved from across town. The staff from the front, to the assistant, to the doctor, and lastly to the dental hygienist was amazing. When I tell you this was the best exam I have EVER received, I mean it. Gina did an AMAZING job not only cleaning my teeth, but showing me what areas were concerning and how to properly execute my routine to make sure my teeth are well taken care of. Her work is definitely something she cares about, and it shows. I will be returning and telling everyone about this office, and especially Gina.

Very mediocre establishment. The “doctor” didn’t even ask me why i was there or what problems i was having with my teeth out gums. They didn’t think my cleaning was important enough to schedule that day on my appointment. So they said they would call me when time was available. Of course no one is going to call…I’m not going back. I guess if you’re desperate then go to them.

Left my nursing baby at home so I can get a cleaning (since they tell you to keep your teeth healthy so your babys teeth stay healthy). I didnt want x-rays since I am nursing and in Europe we also do not do them this frequently. Dont expect any compassion, compromise or understanding here. Making that money is probably more important than giving someone care. But I guess I should not be expecting anything else in this health care system anyways.

My daughter got braces here. I would say treatment is/was OK. I recently came to know that, they are overpriced. For same treatment the cost is more than $500-$600 less.I would suggested to take 2nd opinion before using Friendly dental for this expensive treatment

I have been going to this location for Ortho treatment! Dr. Hull is great, unfortunately the front desk staff always changes and is not very organized. I signed an financial agreement with them last September and have paid what was agreed upon. Due to that paperwork not being filed they are now asking me to sign off on agreement from 2019 that I originally signed at a different office. Instead of owning their mistake, they attempted to attack me as if I did something wrong. Customer Service and Patient skills are very important in the healthcare field. Service had been great until they switched front office staff.

The place to always smile and feel so good after. They have many locations in Charlotte but one of the best places in the university area next to the Sally’s the entire staff is amazing.You can tell they love what they do and y’all care of you. Not just cleaning teeth the education you learn to take care of your teeth step by step for the rest of your life.This favorite place of mind gets a 5 stars I wish I can give more hearts like you do on Facebook live. I’m so grateful for the staff at Friendly Dental. They took such great care of my son from beginning to end. We had an apt in the AM and needed to come back in the afternoon for some more work done. My car stalled on the way back and they were understanding and patient. When we finally made it back, they took care of my son beyond what I expected and I believe they went above and beyond. I am so unbelievably grateful I found this dentist office! I have terrible anxiety getting dental work done and every employee was friendly and helped me feel comfortable. When I came in, I told the receptionist (I cant remember her name sorry) how nervous I was and she reassured me that everything would be okay. Gina was great at talking to me and helping me keep calm and Dr. Moody was absolutely the most caring dentist Ive ever had. Most dentists get frustrated that Im an adult who is anxious about dental work but she was so patient and sweet. After I had two appointments (one for xrays and one for fillings), I just had to thank the manager for having such a wholesome dentist office. I could tell that he was confident in his staff. If you have anxiety about dental work, I would recommend this dentist 100%.

Name is completely opposite to what they are. During these hard times they would not accommodate and help a single parent with no help to watch her child so I was refused an appointment after I made the appointment and told the person I booked with that I would be bringing my child because she is not kn school and nothing was told to me ahead of time that would be a problem. Completely unprofessional!!!

Whilst the entire experience was exceptional, undoubtedly the experience begins & ends with the reception desk & practice management. Juan & his staff are by far the most professional, considerate, respectful & kind I have ever experienced. We are new to the area & like any life change it has been a bit stressful but Juan made the transition easy, comfortable & pleasurable which means the world to me & the children. He is excellent at identifying & dealing with stressful situations & has a natural calming yet professional approach which is hard to come by in today’s world, I recommend Family Dental Group to all who want to be treated with respect & most of all compassion & understanding.

The office is clean and organized. Everyone there is friendly and professional. I have experienced the most comfort at the dentist in this establishment. Also, they’re close to the university. I will continue to see them.

Overall I been coming here for over 2 years. Until now, I had an unpleasant surprise. I get a call one day prior to my actual appointment. Then, they tell me I have to reschedule my appointment because they do not have any hygienist available. I call back and I ask when can I reschedule & they tell me a date for 2 MONTHS LATER. Really? That’s very unprofessional and unfair to me. I just decided to find elsewhere to go and move on. Sharing my experience Incase anyone wants to know how long they take to reschedule you for something that’s not your fault.

If I could give no stars I would. I called months ago to schedule my daughters and I appointment. I arrived today at the office for my daughters schedule appointment and they proceeded to state that they didnt have a pediatric doctor on duty. I then asked to speak to a manager to resolve the issue and she argued back in forth with me.Her tone was very nasty and condescending. As a patient I didnt feel like I was recieving the proper service. I will never take me or my child here again. They claim to use the excuse of tight scheduling but fail to understand their patients have tight schedules as well. There are other locations that have better reviews. So try the others before scheduling an appoinment with the university location.

My experience with the Friendly Dental Group University has been exceptional experience. I was awaiting an insurance approval, and Mr Juan (Office Manager) went above and beyond to assure my daughter’s approval was complete.Dr. Moody and her assistant handled my daughter exams with care. The front desk office representative are always pleasant. The entire staff are just so FRIENDLY! I would recommend Friendly Dental group University to everyone. Exceptional service indeed!

Very great place. Staff was amazing. All of the dental doctors and assistants explained each process and procedures in detailed. The front desk staff very polite also. They all act as though they really care for you. I would recommend this location. And by the way my appointment was at 10am. And that is the exact time they saw me.

This place is the absolute worse! The staff lack the ability to communicate effectively. I have taken my minor child to medical appointments since COVID19 hit. What blows my mind is how their COVID19 restrictions differ from other medical facilities. There is NO way I am letting my 10 year old go in the back with these folk! He is a MINOR who should be accompanied by an adult! This garbage should have been communicated with my husband and I prior to actually coming in for the previously scheduled appointment. For those that choose to use their services, good luck to you!

Best dental experience Ive ever had! From the moment you walk in, all front desk staff was very professional and polite.I was very impressed with how detailed Gina was while cleaning my teeth, not to mention how personable throughout the cleaning process to make me feel at ease.At the conclusion of my appointment, I met Juan the Office Manager, who was extremely attentive and made sure I understood all charges while explaining all options in order to best fit personal budget.If youre in need of any dental work, look no further - the honesty and loyalty to their clients radiates throughout your entire visit!

This place is so professional I just love the staff. I was a little scared with me going to a new dentist And I been with my old dentist for over 25 years. I was very please and I love the fact that they really take time to clean your teeth good. My old Dentist after awhile they start acting like they don’t care about their patients because they was getting so much business. They just was trying to get you and out of the seat quick to get someone else in it. And then you can get there on time but you still will be waiting for a hour to get your teeth clean.Loyal patient

I have always been terrified of the dentist, but this office made me feel at ease from the moment I walked in. The front desk girls were very friendly and helpful. When I got to the back the assistant answered all my questions and made me feel very comfortable. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone. I’m very happy with my dental office.

The staff is super nice and friendly. They have some of the best and most unique equipment I have ever seen. I felt almost like I was at a spa getting my teeth done because yes the chair I was in actually started to massage me...fabulous. I recommend this office 100% especially for those who may have a fear of dentist this is the place for you because the staff go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable.

Literally the worst place ever. I had been here a while ago and had a horrible filling done incorrectly that caused me incredible pain. I decided to come back and give them the benefit of the doubt because it had been so long and it’s location was convenient at the time. I regret it so much. Front desk can be off putting. The blonde hygienist while nice, can be very opinionated if you know what I mean. The worst part is that every single time Ive been in there when they’re working on my teeth they’re constantly distracted looking at the tv, both the dentist and the assistant. If I could give them negative stars I would.

The entire staff at Friendly Dental University went above the call of duty. The greeters were friendly, and the surgeons assistants made me feel at ease and confident. Friendly Dental Group of University are just that, very friendly, professional and flexible with needed payment plans. I was referred by my daughter and granddaughter who are receiving their regular dental care as well as their braces. Give them a try. Been going to Friendly Dental for 5 months. I experienced some dental problems and was able to be seen the same day. The practice is very accommodating and very patient when answering questions. Very happy they are in my dental network.

My very first visit to this dental office and it was the best experience Ive ever had. All of the staff are super pleasent and kind. I didnt have to wait long either. They made sure i knew what each person was doing and I understood everything completely before leaving. They answered all of my questions and were super helpful. I have already told my family members as well as friends. I highly recommend this location for anyone. I plan on changing my daughters dentist to this office as soon as she is of age to switch over. I have never had such kindness and attentiveness in a dentist office. I felt completely taken care of from the moment I stepped foot through their doors. The Smith family really lucked up and found an incredible dental family for us. We have 4 children ranging in age from 4-9 and everyone leaves there excited no matter what. I was referred to friendly dental by a friend, who told me they recently had work done in their Gastonia office. I went to the one in Charlotte (university) the other day for a conciliation and it turned out I needed some work done. They were extremely flexible and were able to get me in the same day! The dental staff that worked on my teeth were very gentile and reassuring when I told them that I had a slight fear of the dentist. Dr mansion filled a cavity and repaired a chipped tooth. He was not only great at what he did, but gentile as well. Mia, his assistant, was quick on her toes and a delight to work with. Pam, did my deep cleaning and was very attentive to my sensitivity. I really appreciated that. Joann, the office manager, got me out in a quick and timely manner so that I could continue with the rest of my day. She also made sure that I knew about my home are and next appointment. Overall, this was probably the best dental experience Ive ever had. I will most definitely be going back as well as referring friends and family to them!

I have been a member of Friendly Dental university since 2013 every visit I feel is better than the last. I am always greeted with respect whether it is through a courtesy phone call to confirm my appointment or whether I am walking through the front door in order to be seen for either a cleaning, xrays, or etc. The staff is always friendly and very knowledgeable, they are also excellent with referrals and follow ups. I recommend this Dental office to family and friends! Thank you for making my visit more personal than just being a patient!

For the past 6 years this has been my dentist of choice for my entire family. I am particularly discerning when it comes to handling my children, especially. Dr. Tanya Moodt is A+.in her care and skill ! The staff is always pleasant, professional and informative. They always make great efforts to work with your schedule. I would definitely recommend.

Front staff is polite and welcoming.I had my teeth cleaned by Tammi. She was very nice. It didnt hurt too bad. Tammi was patient, kind, and checked on me often. My dentist was Dr. Moody. She didnt hurt me at all.. I did threaten to scream, but it turns out no screaming was necessary. . Clean environment. The wait time wasnt long. I will go back.

The staff at the front are nice. The dentists are alright. One of the dental hygienist has no social skills whatsoever and super rude about how to care for my teeth. Like I was 5 and telling me how to floss. The Anesthesiologist numbed me for a cleaning and busted my face! LITERALLY!!! I was swollen and bruised! That is bc he does not know how to properly administer the shots. He just jammed the shots in my gums and cheeks!! It’s been 13 days and I still have a bruised and discolored face!!! If you need an anesthesia administered I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ONLY LET THE DENTIST DO IT!!!!!! The cavity was not filled correctly I have to go back to get it fixed

I was fortunate to learn about Universitys Friendly Dental threw an associate of mind, so I decided to schedule an appointment. As soon as I arrived I was greeted & walked threw the process of having a teeth scaling perform. At first I was nervous but the Office Mgr Joann & Dr. ZEITOUNI assured me that I would be fine! They were correct I hardly felt any discomfort or pressure. They have change my overview of visiting the dentist, in fact I cant wait til the next appointment. Trust me when I say this is where you wanna go!!!

The atmosphere there is really warm and exciting. The staff are friendly and make you feel at ease about being at the dentist. Great scheduling. I would highly recommend them.

Worst experience, ever. If you have the whole day to spend waiting only to receive the very minimal dental care... consider this place. If not, RUN! I waited in the cubicle room for a whole hour... mind you, i did not want to be rude so I waited patiently thinking- Oh theyll get to me next... with only the hygienist coming in saying, Oh I thought we took care of you already... I saw the dentist for a mere 2 minutes then she told the hygienist to explain everything to me. I went in to have my wisdom teeth pulled and you better believe I asked for the x-rays they finally took after hours of waiting and went elsewhere to get it done. This place is a joke, I would never recommend it to anyone. Such a waste of my whole day and money.

Would actually give 0 stars if that was an option. They gave my husband a tooth abscess after letting air get into a cavity filling. When he called to complain about the pain, they said it was normal to feel pain... they only wanted to know when hed be scheduling his next appointment to fill more cavities!! After a few days, he was in so much pain and grief that he eventually had to go to an emergency dentist to fix the not so Friendly Dentists work. A tooth abscess causes a lot of discomfort and swelling. When left untreated it could result in a brain abscess or sinus infection. His abscess was so bad that half of his face was swollen, he had high fevers, and was in extreme pain! When he visited the Emergency Dentist, he had to take antibiotics before having a root canal to reverse the awful work the Friendly Dentist had done. Not only did his experience cause him more physical suffering than expected, our wallet was also severely affected! Would never recommend this office and he hasnt been back since!!

I wish I could give this place a negative amount of stars because my experience here was the most horrible by far. I had a walk in appointment to get a tooth pulled. If anyone else has ever had a dental abscess knows it is excruciating pain so you would think their bed side manner and customer service would be better. I have never had any dental issues in the past so I was afraid about what would happen next and how much it would cost. I let the young man who handles billing know that I didnt have dental insurance so I wanted to take the cheapest route possible. After doing several x-rays one that took a picture of my entire head and another of just the inside of my mouth they determined that a simple extraction or root canal would fix my problem. I chose the extraction because it was the cheapest route. I ended up paying $225 out of pocket and was not offered any other options. I thanked everyone for their help and apologized if I was difficult. The hygienist that worked on me replied; yeah you were acting crazy. Excuse me? Whether I was difficult or not I was never rude to anyone so I felt that to be an inappropriate response. After you get a tooth pulled swelling is to be expected for a few days after peaking on the 3rd & 4th days. A week later my face was still getting bigger and I had a lot of lymph node swelling so I called them just like the after care directions said to. They disregarded my concerns and recommended that I go to an emergency room instead of coming back to them or referring me to their oral surgeon that is NEXT DOOR. Mind you my emergency room co pay is $100 I went three times and continuously called Friendly but they acted like I was being bothersome. I ended up getting referred to another oral surgeon by the name of Dr. Peter Franco at Carolinas Center for Facial and Oral Surgery and they fixed me right up. It wasnt so much how that the staff at friendly did the procedure wrong but somehow they didnt see the abscess on the the X-Ray and that is ridiculous because they had the same equipment that Dr. Franco had & the amount of pain I continued to go through before the oral surgeon out of ignorance is even more ridiculous! I paid them $225 to be rude to me and push me aside. They didnt even seem to care until I said that I would be writing a review on here. That was my first, last and worst experience with Friendly Dental.

I made an appointment for my son a week prior as new patient. The woman over the phone set his appointment for 12:20pm and I received a call two days before to confirm. I arrived with my child five minutes early, first the lady in front was on the phone so she gave a finger and said “wait a minute.” Then she finally get off the phone ask for my child name and tells me he had a 15 minute grace period. Ok. Then whisper to who I find out later is the manager, and turn back to me saying I need to reschedule because we’re late. Long story short this was the time given over the phone to me and if that was the case I would have had my son there at whatever time they were saying it “was.” I was explaining this to the manager after he finally acknowledged me with a very rude tone “WHAT YOU WANT US TO DO, WHAT YOU WANT IS TO DO!!” He through out a time for later, but the way they talked and treated me in front on my son as if we needed them...there was no way ever I would allow my child to become a patient there, but the office smelled good🤷🏾‍♀️

Super friendly and helpful staff. In my search for a new dentist to transition my teenagers from a pediatric dentist to an adult dentist I called many dental practices. I ultimately selected Friendly Dental Group because I received a very warm and helpful reception when I called and they had appointments available within a week and not months out. On our first visit every staff person I came in contact with was so friendly and helpful. The office was clean and the staff practices sanitary handling techniques. I’m really pleased with our new dentist!

Thank God for Quan and Cynthia! They were so helpful, friendly and explained everything that was taking place in the dental chair! I have severe dental anxiety but felt comfortable today due to their reassurance.

The dental assistant was very rude, when I asked why was I getting x-rays. I wasnt informed of this information prior to my visit so I just was curious. After that she asked why do you not have insurance? in a rude manner. I said yes I have insurance. She stormed off and told the receptionist he then comes in very rude as well. Let me explain something to you, and begins to explain the entire dental process which I was aware of because by this time this conversation had already happened with the dental assistant. The dental assistant finally comes back and informs me that they cant service me because I have braces and the need my wires to be off for a cleaning, which is FLAW!!! Ive had cleanings before with my wires in. And I was referred there by my oral surgeon who told them I was under orthodontic care!!!!!! I dont recommend them very rude!

Carla McGowan took the anxiousness out of the procedure. My teeth are sensitive to cold. I didnt experience a single moment of discomfort during this visit. Awesome to have Saturday as an option.

I would not recommend this office to clean teeth for my dog let alone any of my friends . I enjoyed coming until my last visit. I saw a female dentist who was extremely friendly and kind. I saw her for a deep cleaning which required 2 visits (one half of my mouth for each visit). The first trip went great and i received a shot with no pain at all. During my second and last visit, she was not there and no one would tell me why. I asked several times where she was, and the hygienist just stated the office manager would talk to me about it after my visit. I had to see an older male doctor who was the worst dentist I’ve ever seen. He gave me a shot in my mouth and stuck the needle in about 8-10 different places on my gums which i know was absolutely not necessary. After i started crying he just said he knew it hurt. After the trauma from the shot and an extremely sore mouth/gums, i went to check out and asked again where my normal dentist was. The receptions advised me then she was no longer with the practice. They are clearly money hungry to not notify a patient that the dentist they normally see is gone. She was extremely rude and i told her i wouldn’t be coming back. Just go somewhere else.

They are terrible I needed a fill in done redone and they tried to put my one I had in back in my mouth then the fill in they did do is not the right shape of a tooth so my teeth don’t look right then when I left they didn’t explain anything to me prior to me leaving after my treatment never again will I go here EVER!!!!!!

My first visit was 27 June 2017, Tuesday I must say the front desk staff are friendly and cordial. I had a horrible experience getting my X-rays done. Ladies do not have a bun in your head when you go for X-rays because the machine is placed very close to you and it will damn near tear off your head because the bun on your head will prevent it from rotating around your head. I had to snatch my head out while the machine was rotating and when the hygienist came in I told her why and she said lets try it again and the same thing happened. Finally I said do I need to take my hair down and she said yes but she didnt want to ask me to do that listen if the machine is going to tear off my head because my bun is in the way please tell me. Its funny now but it was not funny when it was happening it annoyed me. The hygienist then had to look in my mouth and pick around each tooth to make her assessments and yes that part is irritating. I just knew when I left I would have a toothache. She did apologize for the inconvenience of that part but it was my first visit and that had to be done. Then the dentist came in she was very friendly and she introduced herself which I did like. I think anyone that is working with you needs to introduce themselves and their title, the hygienist was very nice and friendly but I had to ask her name and her title. The dentist in turn did the very same thing the hygienist did picking my teeth but it wasnt as near as uncomfortable thank God. Im not complaining because they did a great job Im just letting people know what to expect on your first visit. After everything is done the front office one of the personnel will come in the room and let you know what plan they have prepared for you. They explain exactly what the plan consists of what your insurance will pay and most importantly what you have to pay at your next visit which is your out of pocket expense so make sure you have good insurance because if you have dental problems it will run up into the thousands. Overall I liked that they are professional and very nice thats why I am going to stick with them. I think they should have some type of phamplets at the front window that introduce the hygienists and the dentists and give you some background on their schooling and how long they have been a dentist and where, a resume for the public to read and make a good choice for their needs. You have to do your research as far as that goes. But overall I am satisfied and I will continue to go there. I would have given them a 5 if it wasnt for the bad experience with the X-ray machine and not being told to if possible can you let your hair down . As I said this was my very first visit and based off that overall they did a good job and I would recommend them based off initial experience. When I go back to have the work I need done I will comment on that as well if they send me another survey. If youre looking for a dentist come and check them out for yourself. Oh and its very clean inside which I do look for. I didn’t see where I can make a second review after all I said how great everything is here well I had to go back for a deep cleaning OH MY GODDDDD I was given stuff to numb my gums but for some reason I had to get needles in the roof of my mouth which was extremely painful and had me in tears. I was given at least 6 needles through my mouth for the right side that was going to be deep cleaned. That was such a horrific experience getting those needles that it’s almost a year and I just never went back to get the left side done. My husband went and got root canal done and had a great experience no pain. That was such a bad experience and so painful I never went back. That being said I plan to go back when I get my nerves up but it will just be for routine exam and regular cleaning so I added this second review to advise you don’t get deep cleanings because the needle experience to prepare you will more than likely be horrific!

Everyone is friendly and attentive to your needs. Anytime I had a concern Juan politely addressed them. Highly recommend.

The name of this practice speaks for itself! Very friendly environment. The moment you walk in the door, you are greeted with a smile from the front staff. This continues is the back with the assistants, Mia and Dr Marshall assisted me and answered all of my questions and concerns. When I returned for a few fillings I was anxious of course, they made me feel very comfortable. Not a long wait time, convenient location, clean office and friendly staff... What more could you ask for when going to the dentist?

Had appointment today on 8/8/2016. My visit was awesome. I was only waiting for 5 minutes in waiting area after doing my new patient paper work to be called to back. All staff members were very polite. I love the fact I was able to watch tv in the back rooms. I would highly recommend this dental office because after getting my X-rays they explained in detail what work I needed lol and as well made sure I fully understood and answered every question I had.

The worst experience. The front desk seems welcoming and inviting enough, but the doctors are not trained well it seems. Had a three cavities filled, and within a day they were all hurting again. Wasted my insurance and my time.... Please search for dental care elsewhere.
