The place is a mess. There is constatnly debris and broken glass next to the trash area and if there is another car coming from the other side you have no choice but to drive through it. Its great that there are children playing outside, but the swings squeak VERY loudly all day and it gives both me and my child a headache. There needs to be a better effort at maintaining the place. Not a very safe place either. There was a very loud and heated police altercation with a neighbor in the parking lot in front of our building recently. Not a good place for families or children. Not really a good place at all. Wouldnt recommend living here, unless you enjoy flat tires and the sound of high pitched squeakig echoing throughout the day and night
I was guided through the process by Ms. Ginella and the rest of the team stepped in for all our needs, so far so good. I was able to do everything from another city; Ms. Gigi gave us a virtual tour stayed attentive through the whole process.. I’m truly grateful for this place as it was my first time finding a place of my own. So this was a pretty rewarding experience. I love that I can paint the walls and mount TVs, the best part is that we have a washer and dryer and I’ve NEVER had one in my home in my entire life. I love how everything is set up inside. Looked so new walking in I was amazed. I can say that the maintenance crew is kind of slack if anything but all in all it’s a very quiet community, my apartment is beautiful, my kids and I are safe and happy in our home.
This place is a dumpster dive at best. Be mindful to look at the hallways in the buildings as it is a great indication of how it is living in this poor excuse of a community with rude, disrespectful management and maintenance. The hallways are so dirty I dont let my dog walk on them. There are a few BRAND NEW, apartment communities nearby worth taking a look at. This isnt it.
On March 30 2021 at approximately 5:39p.m. 3 members of the maintenance team came to replace the water heater located to the top left of my appliances. The maintenance team asked me if they could lay a towel over my appliances so they do not get them dirty and I agreed. During the replacing of my water heater I have Noticed team members being extremely rough with my appliances while trying to change the water heater by literally standing on top of my appliances and also miss stepping. I stated to the maintenance team to be very careful not to damage my appliances during the installation of a water heater because of the constant mis steps. The service manager of the maintenance team explained to another member of the team that was on top of my appliances as well “Louise “ to once again be careful on top of my appliances as he has made my appliances make “popping noise” with his feet contacting lids of appliances on two occasions. Once the team completed the work successfully they begin to pack up and leave. I’ve then inspected the area And noticed a dent on my dryer lid consistent to the changing of my water heater directly above . I Immediately went to the door and alerted the service manager. The service manager came back in and noticed the dent on the dryer and then proceeded to try and fix it by beginning to take screws out because he wanted to try and “fit it”. I then told him I may have a warranty on my dryer so he shouldn’t take it apart. He then says “so how are we supposed to fix what we did?” And proceeds. He was unsuccessful trying to fix the dent. I then asked him if he was going to report the issue and he agreed. He told The property manager he didn’t notice any damage on my dryer and also they had no parts in that damage. He also told his service manager I sit on my couch the whole time so I wouldn’t know. (I sat at my kitchen table recording the whole encounter as you can see in pictures) The property manager Latoya declined to accept my proof of her team doing damage to my personal items. She stated her team did not do that damage and she will not accept responsibility even through I have the photo and video evidence of before, during and after work being completed. The dishonesty of the maintenance team is unreal. She is taking their word over my photo/video evidence. I have the whole encounter recorded. She needs to take responsibility of her team members actions. That is not fair to anyone. That dryer was a $539 gift less than half year old. Defaced by careless mistakes.
Starting March 29th 2021 I put in requests to have my apartment tested for mold and the maintenance requests kept being canceled. Several calls were then made to Avant at Steele Creek by phone because my 80 yr old mother lives with me. I finally was able to put in a request by phone 3/31/21 and maintenance came out stating its just moisture and not mold. I had $300,000 renter’s insurance who didnt cover mold/moisture damage caused by their building not being properly sealed.Well this mold/moisture in their walls/under the floor boards and windows destroyed my mattress $1,900 mattress and had to be thrown out.and pictures taken as evidence. They refuse to take accountability for this knowing before I moved in that that had a mold issue. The staff was rude and basically since my lease was ending stated to fix the issue the best thing to do is to move out. They also lied to their attorney stating I told them my mother and I were doing better health wise, that they asked for receipts for my mattress, and to keep the AC on auto which was a lie bec they never did. I have all emails since they wouldnt speak to me since a attorney was contacted. They know their location has mold but renting to tenants anyway not caring about their health or belongings. DONT RENT HERE!
I enjoy being a resident of The Avant at Steele Creek ! I have been here for 3 years. I love the space, the amenities, and the speedy reply of any work order I’ve put in. The staff is amazing, personable, and solution oriented! I am happy to be here !
When trying to find a lease that’s reasonable in price, this seemed appealing, especially since other apartments in Charlotte are thousands of dollars, which is ridiculous. Anyways, I began the process of getting a quote put together for me for a 1 bedroom that was $987/month and after they added in other prices, the price per month shot up to $1,126. Unreal. Absolutely ridiculous. You can get a mortgage for a very nice for that price. An $89 technology fee? Fees on top of fees. Was going to choose this location, but definitely not now. Charlotte apartments are way too expensive, seeming like the move to Charlotte may not be worth it now.
I lived here from 2012-2018 and I must say these apartments are probably some of the best Ive been to. The only issues we had were A/C going out but surprisingly maintenance came out quite often and fixed it right away, which is not like other apartments, the dumpster was cleaned up for the most part and we had no problems. Another issue was our neighbors below and above us, the dog above us would pee on the porch leaving it to sink through onto our outdoor furniture and below us were a bunch of smokers, we could hardly go outside. The neighbors are the only reason this review isnt 5 stars. Rent has gone up quite a lot in Charlotte which is why most reviews refer to the location, were thinking about moving to Rock Hill, regardless, I would recommend settling here with your family.
The maintenance crew does a wonderful job at keeping our complex clean of trash.
Staff is very rude. They had my car towed twice and it cost me $230 each time too get it back and I pay my rent on time they always add additional fees every month when rent is do maintenance never fixes anything and they overall do not care for their tenants they only want your money I Would not recommend living here a cardboard box would be better
I moved here a little under a month ago and I must say I am very satisfied and happy with my decision to move here. Quiet and secure plus the grounds are kept up.I can be a bit of a pain in the butt when it comes to me spending my money. Needless to say I kind of gave them a hard time when I first started looking at apartments. All request that I made that could be met were met. I changed the floor I was going to move to the date that I was going to move and no matter what they took care of me.The attitude and vibe is community-based here rather than a bunch of people just living in apartments. I think that’s pretty cool.Everything is great so far. If anything changes I will update, but I don’t for see it being anything negative.
I just recently moved here from NYC. I worked with Latoya with my move and she was amazing! She was very attentive to my needs and helped me throughout the whole process. The community is very quiet and everyone seems really nice. I love how all the stores are close. Super convenient!
I just got my A/C fixed by Avery with the maintenance crew and they were here in less than 24 hours and did exceptional work.
This place is very quiet to live, and my family and I have lived here for 4 years, until some neighbors with a dog moved above us, the dog spends the day alone and all day barking for more than a month, here in My apartment sounds as if the dog lived with me, and menge complained 2 times and the only thing they tell me is that they cant do anything because dogs are allowed here, but Im desperate because of the noise and barking, the day before yesterday I woke up early in the morning and I stop barking at 10 at night, Im sick with so many noises, and my daughter doesnt concentrate with the online class because of the same, I already told them that Im going to find another place to live because Im not here anymore sen can.right now it is 11 pm and there is still a lot of noise from the dog barking and dragging things.
This is a warning to all future residents of this apartment DO NOT move here. The end of January I toured this apartment Everything seemed nice normal and proffesional March 6 I applied for this apartment to move in April 5th. I received my welcome letter March 10th saying I was approved and paid all move in fees adding up to $600 The very next day. Therefore I was set and ready to move in the following month I turned in all of my income information and my offer letter from my job directly to the leasing agent and manager I had been in contact with my leasing agent the entire time. Everything was set and approved I get a call April 1st the Thursday before I am supposed to move in saying my application was NEVER submitted to management for approval. Therefore I could not be approved for an unknown reason they wouldn’t elaborate or tell me. How does an establishment go over a month without running an application through management? I already had paid movers and everything. If I didn’t have family in the area I would be stranded after my lease ended. It is now May 4th and I still haven’t received my $600 refund back on the move in fees that I paid be aware of this apartment definitely something suspicious going on here and clearly there communication is piss poor.
Latoya and staff have been amazing since I first moved in...no complaints but I do recommend they pressure wash there stairs and front doors and walk way especially with all this pollen and you know we have nasty people who throw things on the ground .. But other than that I love it here.
Freddy is a great addition to the team here! He came right away to take care of an AC outage and was so personable in the process, extremely friendly and responsive. Made sure I was well aware of how the outage occurred and specifically identified what he did to resolve the matter. Keep up the great work, thankful to have you here Freddy! Also, I’ve been here for awhile now and overall have only great things to say for the community. Hannah in the office has also always been a pleasure (she needs to be promoted if she isn’t already, seriously). Follow-through and responsiveness is very important to me and she’s always delivered. Also, it appears the new management is really trying to proactively better the face of the community. I come from PM and it can be a lot, just know your residents are noticing and your efforts aren’t going unnoticed.

The space in the 2 bed and bath is plentiful with updated appliances. The staff makes the experience here even better. They are personable and responds quickly to any questions or concerns. My maintenance request are always responded to in 1-2 days.

Any questions that I had concerning the apartment homes, Madison was able to adequately answer. She also communicated with me throughout the entire application process. I was able to take a virtual tour of the apartment and the stainless steel appliances are beautiful! The price is reasonable for everything that is included!
Im from Michigan and I found the complex on FB. I worked with Latoya and she made this move an easy process. My apartment was nice and ready on my move in date and I havent had any troubles. I love the lockerbox for packages and the valet trash. The complex is always maintained beautifully,

I used to live here years ago when it was called Sterling. I had to leave for my job, but now that Im back in Charlotte, I decided to come back because of the location. Since I dont have a car the transportation aspects are nice. Everything is in walking distance and the bus route is across the street. I just moved in and Im shocked. Everything is brand new. The walls are painted, appliances are new, and they changed the whole look of the apartment. Im glad I came back. Everyone is really nice over here and the whole process was so easy.
Beware, these apartments are way overpriced. They also carry sound because they were built low budget. Only good thing is the location, that’s it!! We lived here for a year and a half and it was awful. We lived on the middle floor and it was like living in a base drum honestly, no joke.Reluctantly we renewed a second year in 2018 after management promised us it would be better, huge mistake. When we had enough with many complaints made and after losing countless hours of sleep due to noise over the period of living there it took about $2000.00 to get out the lease early. We pleaded with new management several times to lower the penalty to break the lease for all that we had been through so we could find peace and sleep, they could care less and wasn’t interested in helping us out at all...We also lived through the renovations as previously posted and it was terrible. Shotty work and cheap updates. They spray painted the counter tops and kitchen sinks and installed cheap stainless appliances as “updates”and then painted the parking pavement ..They then they raised the rent with no discounts for all the inconveniences the tenants went through out the process. We had paint everywhere. It was an inconvenience for our apartment for almost a month. Others had it a lot worse. Terrible experience and management changes faces as most do once your locked in on the lease. Don’t sign that lease, we are sorry we ever did.

My move in process was nothing short of amazing...I have to convey that Cindy Disla was very patient with me and my one million and one questions however she expressed when choosing your home for you and your family the right questions have to be asked due to your choice will be your choice for at least a year...lol..I love my apartment already and entrust that Avant at Steele Creek will continue to take care of me....
I lived here for a few years. Management could be more friendly however, that doesnt take away from the complex. Very satisfied with the apartment. Rooms are the best size I have seen in South Charlotte. Quiet and clean neighborhood. Staff is friendly. Prices are very good. Maintenance could be more prompt. I would recommend this complex to anyone.
I have been here for 2 months and I LOVE IT. The area is always clean and the ladies in the leasing office are WONDERFUL. If you are looking for a place to stay... I highly recommend living here. Any issues I had dealing with any repairs were done next day.
I made an appointment to come in for a scheduled tour at 12 pm today, and April, the leasing agent, was clearly having a bad day and did not want to be bothered with me. From the moment I walked in she never once even cracked a smile, and when I sat down to ask her questions about the fees and the apartment community, she seemed extremely annoyed at the fact that I was asking questions and clearly me being there was an inconvenience for her. Needless to say I decided to not tour the apartment, because honestly I do not want to live in a community where their staff is annoyed and completely rude. Very disappointing experience.
I officially moved out on August 31st, however I could not have some items I was donating removed because they were renovating the apartment. You would think they would give folks some notice, I understand the work has to be done, but the crew would not let them pick up the furniture. I have called at least a 100 times to let them know but no one ever picks up the phone nor is there a way to leave a message. My old neighbor just let me know they put a late rent notice on an empty apartment... Advant, if you are reading this give me a call. After 6 years of paying my rent on time, it would be the courteous thing to do...
On my move in day there were some misses to the apartment, but when I requested an order, maintenance and cleaners were at my door within the hour and fixed the small misses. One of those misses were broken glass in the dish washer and I was very amazed when the cleaners came just to pick/clean it up! I am very pleased with their service and I have no doubts that I chose the right place to live. Ive never had such an amazing apartment service such as this one! Keep up to good work and reputation!

I want to start by saying this place is awesome! Im retired military I have moved around alot since being out and have been in multiple complexes. This is one of the best Ive lived in. It starts from the management team. My move from Florida was smooth and actually easy. I dealt with Kim and Hannah for the most part. These two are a great team!!! Hannah is one of the most squared away professional Ive dealt with with apartment hunting. Her attention to detail and dealing with the Tennants are impeccable. Shes always about the people and we appreciate her!!!! Ive had a few small issues within my apartment, nothing big or a major problem. The maintenance team is Swift and prompt, professional and know what they are doing. Ive dealt with all of them. Manny, Mike and Jose are awesome! Ive dealt alot with Manny because he has fixed or maintained the apartment! Hes professional, knows his job and great with Tennants! I just wanted to write this review because they deserve to know they are amugst the best at what they do and also people need to know what they are getting! The grounds are well kept along with the units!!! I would definitely suggest this to anyone with family or a single Tennant!! Much appreciated guys!!!!! Keep up the great work! And agreed Cindy was awesome definitely an asset and an important part of the team !!!! And excellent location!!!
Spoke with Maddison she agreed to give my family and I a tour. I drove all the way from Stallings NC only to be told I could not tour the property due to safety reasons and it was after 5pm . Clearly since theres a safety issue then I definitely dont want rent from this property. This was not communicated to me that they stop touring at 5pm. What poor communication wont be wasting my time or money with these people. They already wasted my time and gas. This was so unprofessional and poor management. They didnt even offer an exception but had the nerve to ask me to come back how insensitive I will not recommend this place to anyone clearly they do not care about the potential customers.
If I could give zero stars, I would. What this company fails to mention is that this community is under new management. What they also fail to give or even consider is giving a discount on rent while in this process of upgrading their facilities. One of my main issues but NOT ALL is I was told I couldn’t even park my vehicle in front of my building or any surrounding buildings. This would mean parking my car 15 < minutes away. Since the person reading this has decided to lease, you should have lease amenities and you will not receive that now or in the foreseeable future with this management company. STAY AWAY! Especially while you can! There are much nicer and newer communities where you will pay similar rent and have so much more!
I have lived here for a little over a year and it’s a safe place to live but there’s too many cons. A few of the pros are the new appliances and the spaciousness of the entire apartment. The pool and the workout room is also a great addition to have. The cons, however, outweigh the pros. The renovations were non negotiable, and this wouldn’t have been a problem if they didn’t paint the kitchen cabinets white and install a faulty countertop that lifts whenever you press on it. The drains in the bathroom constantly clogs up and they take forever to fix it. The refrigerator leaks water everywhere and doesn’t keep your food cold. My doorknob even broke to where I was getting locked in and out of my apartment and it took them over 2 weeks to fix it. My air conditioning breaks literally every month and it gets super hot, like 85°+ and they take a few days to fix it. I wouldn’t mind it if I didn’t see maintenance people, talking and laughing with each other for hours while you’re slowly melting in your apartment. Then you have to deal with cars being towed without any notice. Your rent unexpectedly goes up as well. The trash service that they have will leave your trash out even on a day that it’s supposed to be picked up. The staff at the leasing office almost never answer the phone even though when you go into the office they’re not doing anything but talking to each other. Honestly, I could keep going on and on but there’s no need to because I’m pretty sure you guys get the picture.
I’ve been living here since November 2017 the first year before new management took over everything was great, I will say for the most part this is a peaceful place to live, however due to new management & increasing rates, towing cars without notice, the renovations are the worst, Renewing my lease was the worst decision made actually had another contractor over my home asking who done these renovations bc they’re terrible, if you want to increase rates due to renovations at least hire some contractors that know what they’re doing instead of these janky contractors you e been having, I was basically out of my apartment due to these ugly renovations for a couple of weeks and instead of receiving a discount on rent I received an increase ..I will be leaving here ASAP & I don’t recommend this apartment complex to anyone

Not sure if you guys heard the guns shots on August 26 around 11:30pm. Apparently 2, 14 year olds got shot. Have they found what happened?This used to be such a nice quiet neighborhood, now we have so many problems.I just found out they are accepting Section 8. But you got people like us paying almost $1,400? Please tell me more.Update 10/19/18:I had a notice about renovations being done by Night Owl Contractors which was to take place from the end of September thru October 4, 2018. It is now Friday 10/19/2018 and these contractors are still coming in and out of my apartment. Why? I did not receive a notice about more renovations. AND they left my counter tops just like they did the cabinets, they do such a horrible job at painting. PLEASE avoid these apartments it is not worth it.

Horrible place to rent from. Had nothing but problems the 3 years we lived there, then when we turn in our keys one of the security deposits that was put down for the apartment was all of a sudden changed to “application fee”. Please tell me how you have a $75 application fee then a $200 application fee right after. Super corrupt, just trying to squeeze every penny they can out of their tenants. Not helpful with any repairs, and everyone in the office tells you something different.
We been here for 2 months. So far I haven’t had any issue in until today. The AC at my unit hasn’t worked since yesterday May 27th 2018. We requested an emergency maintenance today. the guy came over and supposedly fixed the issue but wasn’t fixed. We saw him and told him again the Ac still isn’t working. He told us to leave the ac working that it will cool on its own. We left it on and still after a couple of hrs later it still doesn’t work. We requested another emergency maintenance and the guy very very rude said that we were going to get charged for maintenance because he said if he fixed it and Intop of that he hung up the phone on my husband. We had to run an errand and the guy told us not to call the emergency maintenance again. And now i have to sleep another night with my 3 kids without Ac because they have unreliable people working here. Since we moved here we had requested some other little issues that were happening, that never got resolved.
Worst apartments ever. Not only that they have bugs, roaches and even so far as rats, they charge you money for moving out like fees such as water, the cheap and broken renovations/ appliances, and late fees. Dont move here, you will waste your money and time.
We’ve lived here nearly five years, but it was within the last two that a serious roach problem began. I believe it is due to the trash pick up service and people leaving garbage out way too long. During the summer we would see at least a roach every single night inside (and many outside). Now it’s winter, and while their unwanted visits have slowed down, they’re still showing up frequently. I give two stars because the renovations are nice. Please get your pest issue under control! We will be moving when our lease is up because of these little disgusting terrors.

I really dont like this place. It use to be a nice and safe place to call home. I know that some problems are about before, but Avant is not doing anything about it. First off, the pool. It looks nice and it is clean, but what bothers me is that sometimes people throw parties there. I can understand a birthday or a celebration. A normal party is alright. But a party where the people drink, girls are twerking, guys smoking pot (really REALLY strong smell), and people doing something behind bushes, is not ok. Specially at a PUBLIC pool. Where there are KIDS. Months ago, there were vans that were broken into and parts that were stolen. I know this for a fact. Also, that fence around the woods (not really woods any more), has been broken. There has definitely been lots of cockroaches but that is because of that trash program you have.Some people have their trash out since 6 and the cockroaches come.Although I really dislike it, I will give 2 stars. Maintenance has improved.
Update: I got in contact with the Regional Manager (Dallas Green) to schedule a meeting with her to discuss the poor behavior of her staff. She has refused the multiple requests to schedule this meeting. So, she is aware of the problems in this apartment complex and refuses to address them. This clearly shows a lack of interest from this company to resolve the issues. When this company does not hold their employees accountable for their poor behavior and low professionalism then this will lead to all the negative reviews they receive. If this company and their management strive for excellence then they should be at a 5 star rating. Not a merely 3+ rating!!!Lack of respect to the residents and absolutely NO privacy at all!!! Management will enter your apartment and go thru your stuff when you are not at home! Also, when you bring complaints to the office the manager (Kimberly) and her office staff are very rude to the tenants. They also ignore you and tell you to leave the office. The office manager then threatens the tenant by calling the police. This demonstrates the lack of care on behalf of office staff towards the tenants. When you request to schedule a meeting to discuss the issue with their superior they never follow up with it and because the owners do not care to check on their tenants the issues continue unresolved. It is a shame and very embarrasing for the owners to let such disrespectful office staff mistreat their tenants. This company charges a high rent for the units, but want to manage it like a ghetto!!!
I wasn’t originally going to leave a review on this place but after multiple issues I decided to leave one. Avant bought out Steele Creek South so 90% of these issues are with Steele Creek South, not Avant except for the last one.We have called maintenance a multitude of times, that’s to be expected in apartment. I knew this even though this was my first apartment. Out of the 11 times I called maintenance in the past year, half of those were for our air conditioning. Twice were in the same week. I called once after hours to let them know our air conditioning was out and they sent a text saying they were on their way to fix it. They didn’t actually go out and fix it. The issue continued for months; there was an unusual hot spurt in February but then it was cold til about May. I’ve had to call back and stay on top of it to check that they’re taking care of my problem because half the time I’d call the office and they’d be like ‘oh someone’s going out next...’ like they had no idea. Many times the main tends staff would leave a ripped off piece of paper as ‘fixed’ shoved in my door. No communication from maintenance or the office that it was fixed so I just had to wait and see if something was shoved in my door or the problem was fixed when I walked in after work (which is office closing time).My neighbors enjoy smoking pot in their apartment quite frequently. We’ve called the office a few times about it, their officer even came out (in his pajamas I might add) and smelled it coming from the vents and their laundry vent. Nothing ever happened with that. The smell continues to waft into our apartment multiple days a week.There’s an animal poop problem here. I once received a letter on my door saying someone reported me not picking up my animals waste. If they had checked their file on me they would see that I have a cat. Its not like I take my cats on walks so that isn’t me.We had already planned on moving out of Steele Creek so once we received our letter to give notice we were ready. What I was shocked to see was that they were going to start charging us 400+ more a month to stay here. This apartment/complex is not worth what they were asking for. The complex is dirty. All the apartments need a good pressure washing or something because they’re all filthy. There are kids playing soccer or running around all the time in any grassy areas they can and are constantly running out without checking if a car is coming. Residents drive like maniacs, constantly speeding and running stop signs. I’ve almost been hit parking or at a stop sign because people aren’t paying attention. Maintenance/staff is difficult to work with. Multiple times people have gone outside on weeknights having LOUD conversations outside of our window way past 11:00. And the actual apartments are TINY with no cabinet space in the kitchen or bathrooms. If I could go back I would’ve never chosen this place.Lastly, this part of the review is for Avant. To top off our great experience at SCS, Avant purchased this complex from the Folgeman group about 2.5 weeks before we’re moving out. We were told the online portal to pay would be functioning and we would be able to sign in. Well, the online portal did not work when rent was due so we had to go out of our way to get cashiers check and it seems that my account has been deleted because they don’t have my email on file. Also, the phone number listed on the website has a ‘no longer in service’ dial tone and so does every other phone number we were given. Luckily there was a phone number on the bottom (very small) of the letter they gave us. What’s funny is that it still says Steele Creek South when you leave a message but I don’t think the maintenance/after hour maintenance phone line or noise compliant lines work because I never received a call back on my after hours request. At least I got a text last time even though no one showed up.I’d like to say I hope Avant turns things around for the residents that are staying, but I highly doubt that will ever happen.

Tbh when I first moved in it was ok. staff was treated nice, apartment was clean and service was good, but up to 6 months ago things started to fall apart. laundry machines stop working, they don’t put screen protectors on the pool when it’s not summer and my apartment has a bug infestation, we have ants in here and tiny gnats/ flies, and when I told the staff to fix this issue, this guy came and pretended to spray any spray but he didn’t. The only reason why I rated this place 3 stars is at least they offer 1,2.3 and 4 bedrooms and the rent don’t cost as much.here’s an update from my experience at avant at steele creek. nothing has gotten better and things are getting worse. instead of flies and gnats, it is now cockroaches and worms and bugs that are now sweeping into my apartment and i have no idea how it’s getting in. the bathrooms are getting nastier and nastier by the second and there are parties being thrown and garbage has been left with flies swarming everywhere and nearly coming into my apartment. my family and i are thinking of staying here or moving to bexley steelecroft. even though there prices are way expensive then avant, it has to be better than this. if there is one thing i have learned while being here, it is that avant at steele creek has lowered there prices so people can’t turn away from there less expensive- insanely affordable options which i am sick of.*UPDATE* ON 9/27/2018here’s a previous update at avant at steele creek.........so, a few things have gotten better such as•new appliances added in•better staff• a lady (daya) left who works in managementthings have improved, especially daya, a lady who worked in management, she was pulling things down here and was making things a bit worse, concluding to my one star rating. i would give the place three stars, since it is doing better like painting and fixing apartments and things but here’s the minus•bugs are still around and seen in my apartment every day and others•apartment service hasn’t been coming as much• there are no cleaning trash or fixing the ground outside (water marks, leaves, grass)• NO COMPUTER TYPE CLUBHOUSES• Gym room needs cleaning• pet rent is overpriced• counters and cabinets are too small/ need to be changedand avant management isnt all on-point or just plain nice.but because of the present/future improvements, i bump up my one star rating to two stars, since of the few improvements avant has made.
Quiet, clean and nice location if you work or commute south of Charlotte. Pricing is good too. Does not feel as upscale as Bexley Apartments next to this ones, if you can afford the small difference, Bexley seems to be a better option.
DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!!! I WISH THERE WAS A 0 STAR. THERE ARE REASONS THEY KEEP CHANGING THE NAME HERE. IN THE PASS YEAR THEY CHANGED THEIR NAME FROM STEELE CREEK SOUTH THEN STERLING AT STEELE CREEK, NOW ITS AVANTAT STEELE CREEK. MANAGEMENT IS RUDE, KIDS DAMAGE PROPERTY, ALOT OF BREAK-IN, AND THEY COME IN YOUR APARTMENT WHEN YOURE NOT THERE. THERES ALOT OF STRANGE THING GOING ON IN AND AROUND THE APARTMENT BUILDINGS IN THE BACK NEAR THE WOODS.

This is not a clean place to live. When you place requests it takes weeks for them to be handled. I reported dog poop was on the ground and no one never came to clean it. There needs to be a penalty for those who do not keep the area clean; however, there also needs to be grounds men who walk around and make sure the area is clean.
