I got a haircut there for the first time, my stylist was very nice and professional! My haircut was exactly what I wanted and I love it!, It was super clean and they made me feel welcome. I would definitely recommend people to go there!!

My appointment was at 5:15. When I arrived, the hairdresser said he would not be able to do my hair for 45 minutes (6:00). Hairdresser or receptionist offered no apology. They had absolutely no regard for the inconvenience. After waiting 45 minutes I left realizing I had other commitments and that I would not want this salon or particular hairdresser to do my hair. Maybe other patrons are treated more professionally. If you go there, be aware and make sure your appointment time will be met.

My daughter was charged $250 by a senior stylist for a 1 cut and blond highlights. Shes 17. The charges were not discussed with her prior to services being rendered. She makes $100/week working at Harris Teeter. We agreed to pay $75 for her haircut and ended up paying for more than half of this rip off. My daughter is in tears over this experience. The stylist was adamant about getting full payment and I literally had to transfer money so my daughters debit card so they could charge her over 3 times what she was expecting based on her online booking. This place is one and done for our family.

Today was my first time at Mina’s! Amy styled my hair and added volume. She was super sweet, fun to talk to, and did a great job. Will be coming back for sure!

I was excited to go to Minas as a new client. When I arrived, I found my stylist to be curt, unpleasant and even insulting. I felt that the styling preferences and budget I communicated were not respected. I cant review the quality of the services. I left before we started and canceled my childrens upcoming appointments.

I cant say enough good things about Minas. Great service and so many wonderful stylists. Thanks to Linda I got the best baby highlights. They look so natural. And got a great cut as well. I love my new hair! If you havent checked them out yet you should.

Both my wife and I are Mina’s Studio regulars, and if we liked it before we love the place in the midst of the pandemic. The preventive precautions are polite but rigorous, every bit as thorough as at any medical facility. The care that we receive from Nicole for our hair and Jenny for our extremities is as good as any we have encountered in 6 decades. The desk is courteous almost to a fault, and walking in is a genuinely warm and welcoming experience.If you are hesitating to get your hair done or your feet attended to, that’s understandable. But if you are looking for the most scientifically responsible environment for that kind of care, you need look no further than Mina’s.One note: If the photos on Mina’s website have not yet been updated to show that there is ample provision for distancing and limited occupancy, you may be assured that those provisions are in place.

Alejandra has cut/styled my hair for about two years now. I am 58 years old, and have had many people cut my hair over the years. Alejandra is hands down the best. In addition to really taking in your remarks to her about your hair, she also really understands your particular hair. Because of that, she approaches her artistry with professionalism and confidence, while also being charming and funny. I feel completely at ease. All of the staff are professional and friendly as well and attentive. The salon is immaculate and elegant without being stuffy. I absolutely love Alejandra and Minas Studio. You will, too!

Nice clean shop. They offer coffee, tea or flavored water. Our hairdresser is very good. Easy parking, central location, near University mall, banks, and Whole Foods.

The BEST Salon in the area! Had a men’s cut and it was great! My stylist, Amy, knew exactly what I wanted and it is so easy for me to style! The front desk staff was very attentive. I found Minas when they won Best in Triangle and Ive been coming back for years. Alejandra is the best stylist! She is a master at color (grays begone!) and her blowouts look good for days. Another stylist did an updo for my company holiday party and I got so many compliments. After trying at least 6 other top-rated salons in a Chapel Hill, Minas Studio is the one I keep coming back to. Highly recommended!

They were able to accommodate me last minute for a blowout for a wedding. Vanessa was awesome and a pleasure to talk to. She asked all the appropriate questions to figure out what I wanted done with my hair.

I moved to the area about a year ago, but was hesitant to find a new hair stylist. I finally gave in and made an appointment with Minas, and I couldnt be happier. Linda Del Muro, an LA native whos been at Minas for a year now, did such a detailed and thoughtful job.I came into the salon looking for a certain hair style and Linda, before washing my hair, looked at the way my hair grew and adapted my hair to the look. We had great conversation, and she gave me plenty of good advice on hair products and tricks to take home. I look forward to making my next appointment!

I was welcomed at the front desk in a very kind and professional manner by the gentleman, Kevin I believe his name was. I feel that the stylist Jackie was very informative and extremely helpful as well as highly skilled. Im very happy with the hair cut. I was impressed and greatly pleased by the staffs focus and dedication to the customer they were working with. I am glad to wait patiently when I see someone fully engaged with a single client and being genuinely happy to help.Awesome place and people.

There’s a great stylist called Martha Pena that used to work there. She left to work at Salon Loft 20, in Durham. I called to ask for her, and the front desk lied to my face. They said she was sick and that she would no longer work as a stylist. That turned out to be a lie. Why would they lie about that to their clients? I’m never returning to that place. They could’ve simply said “she no longer works here” . Did not have to lie about it.

I have been a long time client. However My experiences have been mixed and now I am done. They charge very high end prices but do not provide the concierge level services one expects for the cost. They are customer friendly but not customer focused. They provide no seating for waiting - choosing instead to make us stand so they can sell more products. Even though stylists often run late. They are also difficult to contact in a timely fashion. They also do not clearly advise you of price changes or policies. Their stylists are good. But There are lots of good salons. My advice is go elsewhere.

Love this place! I have been here several time for Brazilian waxes. Most recently Jenny took care of me. She was very friendly and incredibly professional! More impressively, not only was she extremely thorough...she got me in and out of there in less than 30 minutes! The same day I also saw Nicole H. for a haircut and she also did a fantastic job. I wish I could give less than a star sadly. I am also not a “review” person unless it is positive but this salon is by far one of the worst I have ever walked into in my entire 41 years of existence. Sadly...it would appear that the talent is decent. Some of the better stylists who were there I have heard have left so I’m not sure what’s left there that is good anymore. I’ve tried them a few small times and I just can’t deal with how I feel when I leave. The management seems to always be at odds and they argue in front of people. Just a bad place. Bad energy. Wish I had something better.

This is my 21st year as a customer of Minas Studio. I find the stylists to be highly trained and talented. The salon is professional, yet warm and welcoming. Over the years I have recommend Minas to many family members and friends. No one has been disappointed. I would not consider going anywhere else for my hair or nails.

Amy helped my 10 year old daughter choose a great new hairstyle. (My daughter had decided to cut her own bangs with predictably bad results.) Amy was sensitive to the fact that my 10 year old was embarassed about her cut, and worked with her to find a style that would make her feel confident again. It was truly a great experience. I have been to so many hair salons that make you feel ugly-Amy was welcoming, warm and kind. She has earned us as customers for life!

Im from out of town and decided to get my overdue hair cut/color done before heading home. I came to Minas and had an appt scheduled with Rick. Rick was very pleasant and there was a good vibe in the salon. I came in with photos of my previous cuts and told him my plan. I dont feel like I was listened to. I feel like sometimes he should have asked for my input What do you think? or my permission Are we done and ready to style? He seemed to have his own agenda. I left feeling like I did get the cut I wanted even after jumping in with my 2 cents to ask for things to be shorter. The cut looks great I just had something else in mind. I also felt he was not as gentle as he could have been when washing and drying, if I had a sore neck it would have made me nervous. Again, Rick was very pleasant and professional, perhaps better for someone who doesnt have something specific in mind. Services were less expensive than I expected.

I am super picky about my cut and color. They listen and they do a really good job. I have had color correction after a will try something new mistakes. They have great Keratin treatments, totally recommend!

We really do appreciate all the hard work that was done to help us get our client booked for her wedding day and your stylist are amazing from make up to hair. I paid the price I expected for a pedicure, but over paid for the actual service I got. My nails are not even, there was no work on my cuticles and the polish isnt even covering the nails, and on some toes its still on the skin. My experience with the desk was professional and they were nice and helpful, and the lady who did my service was sweet. The foot filing and scrub were fine, but overall not pleased with the results.

Samantha is my go-to ... Ive been seeing her since I attended undergrad at UNC and we have continued our relationship now that I live in Raleigh-- with no hesitation, seeing Samantha is 100% worth the drive. I plop into the salon chair every time and she knows exactly what to do, and each time I leave the seat I leave feeling more confident about myself and my style and with a heart full of wonderful conversation. What sets Samantha apart is how much she cares for her customers and clients both inside and outside Minas and the diligent way she approaches each clients mane as its own transformative statement.

Great place. A moderate amount of turnover, maybe a bit less than most salons but in 3 years Ive had 3 stylists leave. Mens cuts arent their thing but they do a good job.

I am extremely pleased with my visit to Minas Studio in Chapel Hill. From the second I walked through their doors I was made to feel welcome. Everyone was friendly and professional. Lane did an exceptional job cutting my longer hair into a very short style. He is a true artist and I couldnt have asked for a better stylist. I am very impressed and of course will return.

Of all the places I have had my hair dye, this place has been the best so far. Little to no hair damage! I highly recommend Gabby. :)

Went to Minas when visiting Chapel Hill for an event. My hair stylist at home cut and colored my hair before I left town and I believe he was having a bad day. My hair cut was a disaster. I called Minas and they assigned Linda to me. She knew I was not going to be a repeat customer as I was from out of state but that did not matter! She took a lot of time discussing my options and ultimately re-cut and styled my hair and fixed all the issues! I was able to go to the event and not worry about what was a very odd hair cut BEFORE Linda fixed it. She would have my business 100% if I lived there! I highly recommend this salon and especially Linda! You will not be disappointed if you go!

If I could give it zero stars I would. I could have gotten the same haircut at Great Clips for $40 dollars cheaper (I paid $60). I stated exactly what I wanted, and my hair was cut too short and completely different in the back. The hairdresser appeared to be in a terrible mood and then cut my hair straight in the back and too short. She didnt showed me what my hair looked like in the back before I left and I only realized how bad it looked when I got home. It looks awful! And there is no way to fix it because its already too short. I wasnt too happy with the haircut I got there last time either, but it was decent (just over priced). This time the hairdresser didnt listen, was only concerned with what was happening to the costumer in the next chair, and told me she had to blow dry my hair to cut the layers (so I was charged for that too, even though given the option I would not have chosen it because I never straighten my hair). NEVER AGAIN!

Stylist Erin Acosta is amazing! I walked in a few weeks ago absolutely devastated from a bad experience at another salon, and she took me right in, explained my options, and got me started on a recovery plan with the right products, color, and style. She truly wants her clients to be happy. She has changed my life!

I had Heather. She was amazing! It was my first experience at a salon and she explained everything and talked me off the ledge as she chopped off 8 inches! She was kind and did an amazing job! The pricing wasnt too awful either.

What can I say except Minas Studio is awesome! I couldnt imagine not having Alejandra do my hair. What she can do with my fine hair is nothing short of amazing! Kevin and Stephenie at the front are super friendly and welcoming :)

My stylist was the gentleman from Las Vegas, Nevada whos name escapes me at the moment. He was very professional and quite skilled. The cut was somewhere in the $60 range. 5 stars, as I was both pleased with the cut and happy with the price. Ill add that the ladies at the desk were efficient in their job and professional to boot.

I walked in off the street to get a manicure (just my cuticles done, no polish). I didnt think to ask the price...usually $15-18. The woman who did my nails was very sweet, however, all she did was rub an emery board over my fingertips (didnt even get my short nails - which I need to keep that way for work) and put on some smelly cheap Hempz lotion. I was told to use the bathroom and brush my cuticles myself. She gave me a free paraffin treatment. She never trimmed my cuticles. When I said something she cut a little bit and seemed uncomfortable doing it, and it cost $30. I would be happy to pay that much if I was at a 5 star hotel (The Umstead) at least there I know I was getting a real manicure. Its not a spa like atmosphere. I dont understand how they can charge those prices for lack of service and quality.

I have lived in big cities on both the east and west coasts. In those cities I have been to notable, high-end salons. Minas Studio delivers that same high-quality service with a friendly, small-town staff. Minas Studio is definitely the go-to salon in the RTP.

Incredibly poor service and people skills, I was made to feel very uncomfortable. It’s unfortunate when you’re made to feel out of place in a town as progressive as chapel hill. I’ll take my hard earned dollars elsewhere. I’d give it 1/2 a star if that was an option, VERY DISAPPOINTING!!!

I had a manicure and pedicure done at Mina’s and have to say that I was incredibly disappointed in the technique and the price. Having moved from a city with many wonderful high end salons and excellent nail care, I must say that the price at mina’s was over double what I typically paid and the work was subpar. Agree with other reviewer- this is not the the umstead.No cuticle care and easy chipping on a shellac manicure is unacceptable. Plus the manicurist was unprofessional speaking poorly about other salons where she had tried to obtain a job. Very easily distracted during the visit. Will not go again.

I had an awful experience at Minas studio. To start the atmosphere in the studio was just unpleasant. I cannot remember the name of the stylist who cut my hair was but I do know she was an older woman with purplish hair. She and I had a discussion about the cut I would like to have. We proceeded to do the cut (may I add the stylist insisted she could give me what I would like). When she finished styling it, I couldnt believe how bad the cut was. It was nothing I asked for. It was uneven in many places but she was persistent in telling me it was even. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone. I will NOT be going back.

Very nice atmosphere and very friendly staff. I live 2 hours away and will continue to make the drive for a fresh cut and color!

The following complaint has been filed with the Better Business Bureau and the State Department of Justice for resolution:Minas Studio failed to honor a contract I made for a 1/2 day spa gift certificate for my wife for her birthday. When she went to claim her gift, she was told there was no masseuse, and to come back. She did this 3 times over 3 months with the same answer. We asked for a refund. The owner refused flat out. This is a breach of contract and thought the public should know this.

I cant understand why this place has been in business so long. I went with a friend the other day, and the first thing I noticed was the heavy atmosphere. The owners are awful and rude, not just to the customers but to their employees. I heard them snap at their employees several times, and had this air of entitlement and impatience. Even the employees had attitudes, standing around and talking about each other and their customers. And it seemed like a huge family was there, the stylists kept talking to them and there were a bunch of kids wandering around the place. On top of that, I took notice that none of their tools were clean. The hairbrush the stylist used on my friend was full of hair, dirty towels laid all over the sink. A few of the stylists had switched customers while I was there and not once did I see them clean anything except the hair on the floor. I went to the bathroom at one point and walked past their nail area, and saw a foot file that was sitting on a chair, and it had caked up dead skin all over it. It was absolutely foul! And to finish it off, they overcharged my friend for a horrible hair cut and she said her scalp was burned. The only good thing about this place was the receptionists, they were very nice. Other than that, I wouldnt recommend this place to anybody!

Mariana did an awesome job on my pedicure! My toes look beautiful and my feet are so soft!

I came in with three pictures of styles I wanted, and the stylist managed to do a cut that had elements of all three and looked great. These people know their stuff.Check their website for prices.

So very disappointed in the attitude I just received when attempting to make an appointment for a keratin express just now. The person that answered the phone could see that I had been in several times before for these but insisted if she scheduled me with a new stylist that I would have to come in for a consultation. She also stated that if I saw someone I had seen previously she would still need to leave them a note to see what time was needed and could not schedule my appointment while we were on the phone. I asked if this was a new process as I had never had to do this before when seeing someone new or someone I had seen before and she stuck to her I have to leave a note to see how long they need line. I explained I would be going to another salon and she said thanks, have a great day in her very false professional perky voice. Not at ALL the type of sevice normally provided at Minas. Definitely needs to go or get retrained. she was more than willing to have one of your fairly regular clients walk away.

I didn’t have an appt, but I was in the area so I walked in to make one. I saw what seemed to be the owners arguing and just being inappropriate right in front of customers/clients... It just made me feel uncomfortable and awkward so I walked out and dont plan to go back.
