I have been living a the lodge at crossroads for about 6 weeks. I have truly enjoyed this community so far. The front office and maintenance have been extremely helpful. Kimberly, Laurie and Carlos have been the absolute best. Carlos installed my new dishwasher after the other was not working properly. He was so efficient, and respectful. Laurie and Kimberly helped with finding the best apartment and with doing my walk through. The grounds are beautiful and residents are friendly. The only bummer is the parking is hard to find in front of my building, but hey whats a few more steps unless you are caring heavy cat litter and the mail. Also the appliances are old. Cant remember ever cooking on a coil stove. With all of this I still give 5 stars.π€
Prospective Tenants Beware! They dont answer their phones and dont follow through on their commitments. I needed to rent an apartment long distance. I called on a Sunday and initially spoke with Gladys. She gave me basic details and told me to call the onsite number. They had a number that was shared so she advised me to let it ring to one of the management options. I tried both options but no one answered so I chose the maintenance option. Maintenance was able to forward my call to a line that Jasmine picked up. She gave me details and promised to look into my questions and have someone call me back. A couple of days later Ryan called. She told me the original unit was rented and recommended a second unit. She promised to send me virtual images of the apartment two times. I never received them. When I called back to check on them, Ryan said she had been sick and reassured me she would send them right over. However, she ignored me a second time. Not very professional. If this is how they treat their prospective tenants, I do not want to rent there.
Pros:-Great maintenance staff-Nice unit/groundsCons:-Management is very unresponsive/unhelpful-For some reason they choose to make announcements with pieces of paper clipped to doorways instead of sending emails-4 months after move-out and still havent received our security depositWe lived at the Lodge for 15 months. The unit was nice and the nearby greenway was great, but we had trouble with management throughout our time there. My sense is that there arent enough staff members to handle the number of units they have, because we found it challenging to get a hold of anyone in the office. It seems like maybe they have an issue with turnover. We frequently had to send multiple emails/make several calls before we received a response. When we got a hold of someone in the office, we generally felt like whoever we were speaking with either didnt know how or didnt want to provide any help. The issues started from the beginning. We were told that wed have a washer and dryer installed by the time we moved in, but we ended up waiting something like ten days for those to show up. About six months into the lease, we had a leak in one of the rooms, and we had to wait several weeks for that to be fixed. The communication on their end around the move-out process was almost non-existent; it was a struggle just to get anyone to respond. I actually never received a response to my last email before move out, and no one from the office came to do a final inspection, even though we had requested one. On the day our lease expired, I ended up just going to the office to drop my keys off and let someone know we were officially moved out. Im not actually sure what would have happened if I hadnt of done that, because it seems like they sort of forgot about us. Our lease ended four months ago, and we still havent received our security deposit check. At this point Ive made probably 15 phone calls and started several email conversations to figure out what the issue is. There have been two or three times when someone in the office told me they would call me back but then never did. They asked me to provide my new address five different times (this is not an exaggeration) even though I wrote my address down and turned it in along with my keys when we moved out. So Ive provided my address in writing, over email, and over the phone several times. During one phone call, I was told that our security deposit check was being mailed from the corporate office in Canada. During another phone call, I was told it was being mailed from the corporate office in Florida. Its not clear to me how both of those statements can be true. Later I was told that the initial check had to be canceled and that a new check would be sent out. A month later and Im still waiting. The latest Ive heard is that my check is currently in the mail, but for reasons that should be obvious Im skeptical. Ive lived in several different apartments and Ive never had to wait more than a few weeks to receive my security deposit. I understand that the office doesnt have a say over corporate policies, but its pretty remarkable how generally unhelpful theyve been. Im not sure if this is a widespread issue or if Ive just been unlucky, but at this point it seems intentional. And Id like to stress that at no point during our time at the Lodge did we ever cause any problems or receive any complaints from neighbors/staff.
I called to schedule a tour on Saturday (9/4/2021) at 1 pm. No one showed. I called and left a message on their answering machine and every other number they gave me. The only people who answer the phone are from the corporate office. When I asked if they could call the front office to verify that someone was there to help me, they said that they do not have direct access to the front office at the complex. That seemed very strange to me. I then asked to schedule another tour at 4 pm the same day and no one showed for that tour either. Not recommended for tours!
Resort level accommodations at a reasonable price, considering location. Pool, gym, pool table, 2 dog parks, lake, and a greenway that puts local shopping at the Crossroads in walking distance. We have been told by friends and family they would come here to vacation, because its so nice. Now that CoVid is going away, front office has started having events again, like yesterdays pool party that included adult activities such as a Paint&Sip (wine tasting and painting). I look forward to seeing what other activities this new management comes out with!
I have lived at The Lodge for 7 years! I love the locationβ¦. Close to the grocery store, Target, great restaurants and walking paths.Thru the 7 years, there have many multiple management changes β¦.. some great β¦ And some not so greatβ¦.. but Iβm reviewing today because Iβm extremely pleased with the newest team. I had my second water heater break right before I was scheduled to leave for a week vacation, Carlos came out at almost 9 pm to replace the water heater and get emergency floor people out at 10pm to set up A dehumidifier and multiple fans throughout my unit. As I stated I have lived here for seven years and at the time I moved in there was carpet Throughout the entire unit. Through the years we have had two hot water heater breaks (all normal wear) and a leak from my upstairs neighbors and a leak in the outside stone around my daughters bedroomβ¦.Although some of the repairs took longer than it should have, this time Carlos was right out to help and then the new property manager Fernando stepped up and helped go above and beyond to repair the damage to my unitAs I had noted, this leak happened 1 day before I was scheduled to leave town, I was able to pack up most of the βhouseβ and move it into my garage a few of the bigger pieces I could not move, but Fernando helped me to get the carpet replaced with the new flooring and the bedroom carpets cleaned before my return! He communicated with me through the week to kept me updated on the progress and even went to bat for me to get the carpet removed instead of just cleaned!Fernando even went to my unit the day before I returned to ensure the floors looked good and that I would be pleasedI just wanted Morguard, Fernando and the team at the Lodge (Carlos Shawn and Will) to know they are recognized and appreciated!Thank youBtwFernando has since followed up to check on me to see if Iβm happy and if there was anything else I neededThank you! This is why I continue to live in this location
Weβre about a week in to living here at the Lodge and enjoying it so far. The grounds are beautiful β perfect for walking our energetic golden retriever! The apartment itself is nice β spacious, with a layout that is conducive to two professionals working from home! There are little cosmetic imperfections that arenβt worth complaining about β thatβs to be expected in apartment living! The community itself seems nicely quiet β thereβs enough going on to help you feel safe, but not so much that you just want to shut the world out. Most importantly, both my husband and I wanted to call out the fact that Laurie, in the leasing office, has repeatedly gone above and beyond to make our move-in (from information-gathering to move-in-day) a seamless as possible. She always got back to us quickly with answers to questions. She always did the thing she promised to do in the promised timeframe. She even stayed late one night and came in (unplanned) on a day off to take care of our lease. We made this move quickly, and at the last minute, so Laurieβs commitment to helping us through a rushed process was invaluable. Thanks, Laurie!
Beautiful place to live. Clean and up-to-date. Love living here. NOT a good place to get mail. Frequent and constant problems with locker deliveries. Hope that gets resolved this century.
We signed a lease here because we loved the large floor pans offered at a reasonable price.-Waited 2 months (with many emails and phone calls made) to hear our application was accepted. It took confronting them in person to receive this information.-Items broken in the apartment upon move in were supposed to have been fixed but never were.-Emailed back and forth regarding lease break policy, with several responses until we submitted our lease break documentation and conveniently we never heard back.-Multiple packages picked up by administrator according to the parcel pending machine, yet lost by management. (Why are you picking up my packages in the first place?)-Several emails regarding the missing packages with we will look into it and no actual follow up.Great apartment, terrible customer service and communication.
Rating 4 stars because we do love it here so far.Pros:- In my experience, the leasing office was quick and efficient in scheduling a tour and showing us multiple units. They made the whole process a breeze which was nice, considering we were visiting from out of state and were able to get answers quickly from them while we were in the area.- Maintenance has been fine for us, weve only had to submit 2 minor claims. The first one took about 8 days for them to come and the second took only 2 days. Both times the job was completed and we didnt have to call back so well what happens next time we submit one.- The lake and trail are very convenient and it is pleasant to walk around. You can walk to a few grocery stores nearby from the path which is pretty nice. Feels safe around the complex as well.- You are within a 5-10 minute drive from almost any store or restaurant that you can think of.- Layouts are spacious, closets are big and have ample storage room- Pet friendly and No pet rent. They do charge a one time pet fee at signing which is usual but do not charge a monthly pet rent. Personally I think its a scam that most complexes charge extra per month for pets.Cons: Not too major in our experience- Fitness center is nice they have a decent variety of weights and machines. However considering we pay to live here, we shouldnt have to be subject to the offices hours on when the gym opens and closes. So when the office was closed from Thursday-Monday for Thanksgiving the residents cant access the building. I do believe management deserves time off for the holidays to be with their families, but since residents live here we should be able to have access into the building when theyre not here. Also, when I first moved in I went to the office to ask what the fitness hours were and was told 9-5 but they close from 1-1:30pm daily for deep sanitizing. But Ive been in there between that sanitizing time and there was nothing. Not a big deal for me, but why just tell a lie like that?- We live on the first floor and the first weekend we moved in there were a decent amount of roaches on the patio. Sort of expected it since we are near the lake but went and picked up some raid from the store and sprayed it around and havent had any bugs on the patio since then.- Some residents dont pick up after their dogs.Overall would recommend!
This complex has been a good experience overall for the past almost four years of living here. Itβs very nice to have the lake so close by to walk around, and there are shops that we have been able to walk to from the complex as well! The location is super convenient to crossroads and Waverly Place where there is tons of shopping and things to do! The apartment we live in is spacious as well!
We are living here for 2 years and we couldnt be more satisfied. The location is perfect, with everything we need at a walking distance. The apartment is very good, it has a good size balcony and it is pet friendly. The staff is really nice and helpful. The neighborhood is peaceful and we have a good lake and a greenway that makes a lot of difference!
Our family has lived here for several years. Weve been through several office staff members, neighbors, etc. We really enjoy it here. Our apartment is nice and spacious - we started as a family of 3, and now a family of 4 so it is getting a little tight. We especially love the view from our patio. We are a first floor, technically second and we have a view of the lake and the greenway. The patio itself is huge, plenty of room to have a sitting space and a space for the kids to have some outdoor toys to play with.We also love that we have a garage, so much storage & it still fits a full size SUV with room to walk around. When we first moved in the office staff was terrible. They were replaced about 6 months into our first lease with the best office staff I have ever dealt with. They were prompt, hosted community events, actually cared about the residents. It was really nice. Maintenance has always been a little slow, but always very nice and helpful when they get to your work order. I think some of the office staff must have changed recently because I was reading some of the more recent reviews and it didnt seem like the same staff.I would definitely recommend the Lodge at Crossroads to anyone looking for a rental, whether short or long term. The value is great, our rent (including garage) cant be beat in Cary, unless you want to live in a dump. The apartments are large, well laid out, and really nice. The floor plan we live in has walk in closets in both rooms, a garden tub in the master, and even a space that Ive converted into an office since weve been stuck at home.
Ive lived at The Lodge twice. Im not sure whats changed in management but my previous experience was significantly better in terms of willingness to help and general friendliness. That being said, were in a pandemic/weird times so my BS tolerance has been pretty relaxed!Let me say the maintenance people are WONDERFUL. Last summer, my A/C died 3 or 4 times. The emergency maintenance man brought me a window unit late at night that really saved me. Anytime someone has entered my apartment, theyre friendly and pretty knowledgeable. The entire unit of my building needed to be replaced but they were on it. Thanks guys! While I did renew for a second year and its not the worst rental experience Ive ever had, its certainly subpar but not outrageously expensive. Ive been able to continue to save for a house.I felt inspired to write today because I tried to make a gym reservation (covid precautions the gym is no longer 24 hours - fine, not an issue) but Im an essential worker. The appointment times cut off at 5:30 and I work weird hours sometimes. Ive seen other people stating the cleaning of this area isnt happening when they say it is and while I understand theyre not tied to that time by law, maybe a bit more flexible appointment schedule would be beneficial for those that dont work from home. Its honestly stupid to raise my rent AND continue to charge for these amenities you cant use. If I wanted a gym membership, I would have picked somewhere to live that didnt have a fitness center and saved myself a few dollars. I just want to use what Ive been paying for. Happy to make a reservation. Not the worst. Tolerable living.EDIT: They took the time to write a reply but its not fixed within their portal like they said it would be over a week later.
We applied for an apartment in mid February for a march 20th move in. Paid the application fees in full. We are now one week away from March 20th and there is no sign of the application being approved. The management office is not picking up all the countless calls we have made. We drove twice to the office to check on the status and all we got was its in process and it will happen when it has to happen. The first time we called them from the parking lot and we literally saw a person in the office just ignore the call. After we went in she says sorry she doesnt have the time to pick calls as she has show ins etc but she was literally sitting at the desk doing nothing.Since we could not wait any longer and take a chance on the lodge at not rendering us homeless we ended up applying to another apartment complex where our application got approved in 2 days. Prospective applicants be warned. The lodge at crossroads is goin to take your $50 application fee and never bother approving the application. Do yourself a favor and do not apply here. If anyone from management is reading this please give us our money back!
Lived in the complex for almost 2.5 years. Love the facilities and staff! Definitely a spacious living environment with an affordable cost. I recommend this complex for anyone, regardless if youre looking for 1, 2, or 3 bedroom options.
Great place to live and great location but know If something needs fixed the turn around time is over 1 week and is not fixed correctly the first time making the turn around time even longer. The Leasing office staff isnβt much help either and does not seem like they are understanding of any situation. If you have a lot of patience and donβt mind feeling helpless at times the lodge is for you.
Been here at Crossroads now for 2.5 years. Friendly people, lots of space. Reasonable utilities, spacious and well thought out floor plans. Lots of amenities well within walking distance, food stores, restaurants, pharmacies, walking paths and green areas.
We have had a wonderful experience here. We really enjoy walking in the neighborhood and around the lake. The grounds are well maintained and the staff here are very helpful. This has been a great place to begin our lives in NC.
Ive lived at Lodge at Crossroads for about 5 years and it has been the BEST experience. Phillip is always so friendly in the office and the maintenance staff, Sean, Will, and Darnell, are always willing to go out of their way to say hello and help with any request. I love the location and the greenway around the lake is a huge bonus!
We really lucked out finding an apartment here! The location has been great, and the nearby walking trails are wonderful. Very well maintained buildings and each of the staff members are extremely kind and professional.
Such a Beautiful place to live. I love how close to everything I am by living at the lodge. There is a Beautiful trail that accompanies the neighborhood and the area is extremely safe.
I have been here for about 4 months now. If i had listened to reviews I also would have never moved in here. So I decided to visit the property and was helped by a Temp working at the time. Great experience! Then a few weeks later I come in after work about 5:30 greet the front desk person and tell her I received my approval along with my lease agreement and would like to take care of all payments for the move in. SHE looks down at her burrito and says Im busy having lunch can you come back another day!Im telling you my jaw dropped could not believe the lack of professionalism and how she was allowed to represent The Lodge!!!But after being here for 3 months Im glad I gave them a shot and moved in. Its so peaceful, green way is amazing everyone has been really nice. Like any other place they are always a few bad apples, but you cant take that one bad experience expect the entire staff to be that way. Things have been a little slower when it comes to maintenance repairs due to pandemic, but things are still getting done. Great Community!!!!!!!
I moved into my apartment at the Lodge of Crossroads in July. The pictures online are true to life but actually seeing it in person is on a whole other level !! I was pleasantly surprised at the beautiful manicured lawn and grounds ! My apartment is perfect for me very spacious More than enough room and my office space is perfect I log off and walk away and enjoy the rest of my apartment . In addition, I have a lovely view of the walking path and itβs very quiet in the evenings and I feel safe being here .The location is epic Iβm surrounded by Restaurants Great shopping . Walgreens, CVS Grocery stores ..Finally if the location the complex And my apartment wasnβt good enough .. the staff is top notch Laurie assisted me with my move from New Jersey It was a difficult transition but Lori with her southern hospitality made it all worth while. She was always professional and showed empathy with current issues I was dealing with, so happy to say when we met in person she was just as sweet . There was another young gentleman With dark hair that was very sweet and accommodating also but his name escapes me . I hope my stay here will be for a long time . Iβm very happy with my choice of where to live and hope to be here for sometime !
Lived here for a year and just signed up for another one. Great place to live! Close to everything and a great lake to walk.
Been living here for around 2 years at this point and just about to move out. The staff in the front office are professional, courteous, and very helpful. The maintenance team responds to incidents quickly and have been nothing but helpful. The apartment itself, while maybe a little dated, has a ton of charm and allows for endless creativity while decorating. Great amenities with access to the greenway and fitness center, but just avoid the dog park.
We like that it offers short term leases .Our apt has a great view of the lake and greenway which is relaxing after a long day at work. All of ours neighbours are great which is a big bonus!
Unfortunately my experience with this property has been horrible and they have only succeeded in making my decision to not renew my lease very easy. Please be weary of the 5 star reviews as they are only there because of a pizza coupon incentive they sent out. Those emails are the only ones the main office will acknowledge. As every location, it has its pros and cons. The pros are that the grounds are decent and they seem to be doing some upgrades which is nice and location is ideal. Unfortunately everything else important is a con. COMMUNICATION : I was mislead into a unit that I thought was updated which it wasnβt so old appliances and small bedroom closet because of a handicap accessible bathroom I did not request or was told I had until after I was handed the key and a unit poorly cleaned because they werenβt ready in time. MAINTENANCE: the guy is super nice and does great when he does come but it does sometimes take more than once to have to make a request and have had requests marked completed when they havenβt been addressed. Also if you have a request in the summer good luck youβre not important. LOW STANDARDS: they seem to not care at all how inconsiderate neighbors are as long as they get paid and there is zero talk, discussion, mediation, community meetings, newsletters, virtual anything or memos that indicate or remind people to be kind and considerate. When you live in a first floor unit I know there will be noise but when you have 2 hyper kids having what must be wrestling matches on who can break through the ground quicker, visiting their chain smoking always drunk grandparents who canβt control them...yeah I kind of turn into a βKarenβ writing a bad google review hating where I live because my frames on the walls are shaking and I canβt hear over the stomping and jumping. The office failed to sympathize or do anything about it except to say βoh but theyβre nice peopleβ(Laurie). They said they would send a letter but shocker...they didnβt, they back peddled and I had to handle it myself. Thatβs just one neighbor I asked for help with, didnβt even discuss the other neighbors with the stench of marijuana that come out at all times of day and the smell of dog poop thatβs never picked up. GARBAGE: not only are the dumpsters gross and everyone just leaves bags because they seem to not know how to pull down a compactor door? But neighbors in my building have now deemed the wall by the stairway where are storage is as the new dumpster so bigger items like bike, vacuum, rods, chairs, get placed there so someone can either pick up or throw out for them. I emailed back in April and was told it would get taken care of. Itβs now October and itβs still there despite several staff coming in and out the area through out these months. Emailed office yesterday to follow up and no response, Spoke to Jonathan today and he had to look up my email because they didnβt even read it. He said they would look into. Seriously? Get rid of the trash! You want to CSI the garbage have at it but would it kill anyone to handle something for real? They have zero care that several people hate living here and congratulations, your poor attitude, customer service and ability to resolve anything has landed you this long winded venting review. Please donβt respond back on this review with false care because we all know itβs fake. In fact, Iβd just be happy if you took care of the garbage...thereβs a free pizza coupon in it for you, because I donβt need it.
I love this apartment complex! I have lived in several apartments in different states, and this is by far the prettiest, most convenient location and best management team. I am only leaving because I got a job back up north. I will miss my apartment, the beautiful Greenway around the lovely lake, and all the pet friendly amenities. The only negative is that not all the neighbors are considerate about their dogs barking and carrying on in the dog park and that several donβt clean up after their dogs! Fair pricing, lots of amenities and caring management (special thanks to Philip for all his help!!)...what more could you need?!
Nightmare Dealing with new Management:Ive been at Lodge apartments for 3 years and the current management is uncomparable to the previous Management (previous management used to go above and beyond to resolve/help with issues).I went to the Management office to give 60 day notice and spoke to Johnathan but I didnt give anything in written, To my surprise after 15 days I get a call saying I didnt let them know my decision on moving or staying in the apartment, the thing about this apartments is that they dont have any cameras in their office to prove that I was there at their office. Also my mistake was trusting management and not sending an official email regarding vacating the place. Then they charged me hefty amounts for that extra 15 days and importantly their portal showed me complete 1 month rent as due instead of charging for 15 days. I decided not to pay until their portal mistake is rectified, And called Manager Philip several times asking to get this portal mistake sorted out. The response I get is, pay only for 15 days rent and forget about the portal. So now I have been charged late fees for not paying the rent on time( Big thanks to Portal -- I still have screenshots) .Lesson learnt - I realized that I need to have recordings or written email and then I started recording everything.Few problems/issue I encountered.Water leakages from roof, if it rains badly(Management doesnt repsond).Trash compactor stops working every week, and trash piles up in-front of the compactor.I had a maintenance requested in 2020 summer for AC temp not going down from 80, and the response I received was there is a governor rule due to covid the AC shouldnt go under 80. Waited 3 weeks to get that fixed. They were replacing entire carpet in my old apartment because it was too old, and they still charged me 300$ for carpet replacement.Lot more -- Lights fail to work in-front of the apartment, unknown parked vehicles overnight.....
I have been living at The Lodge at Crossroads for the last two years and Ive had the best experience in this apartment complex. Keep doing what youre doing
The Lodge is close to a lot of local stores and restaurants and about 15 minutes from DTR. Its nice that its also located next to the Green Way for walking. The maintenance team is very friendly and helpful.
Ive enjoyed living here for the last two months. The rent is reasonable, and the location is great. Target, Lowes, and pretty much every store imaginable is only five minutes away. Its also pretty quiet for the most part. Although, sometimes, I can hear my neighbors upstairs. But that isnt too bad. The lease people working at The Lodge are also very friendly and quick to respond to emails. The biggest downsides, however, are the constant smell of weed, the bugs, and the often, overflowing trash compactor.Overall, it is a good place to live for people with a budget and those who dont want to drive far for groceries/errands.
Jonathan was very professional and helped answer all of my questions. Found the perfect apartment for myself and my family as we just moved here from Texas!
My wife and I have lived here for almost a year. We love this community, the pool, the trails, and how close it is to stores/restaurants.
Signing a contract is optional. I consider myself lucky that I experienced problems so early in the application process. Based on my own experience and based on other reviews, it appears that it would have been a grave mistake to sign a lease with this property. I ultimately signed a lease with a different property management company solely because of unprofessionalism I experienced at The Lodge at Crossroads.I toured an apartment with Jonathan Benitez and I completed an application immediately afterward. The following day, Mr. Benitez called my number and asked me to call my former landlords, because he said that he already requested a rental history and they did not reply. As requested, I called my prior rental property and spoke to an agent there. The agent was adamant that she had received no such request, and that I would be fastest to do it through email. Jonathan should have known this already if he contacted the agent himself. Translation: Mr. Benitez preferred that I track down property management companies on his behalf and in effect, act as his secretary. I contacted Jonathan and provided the relevant names, email addresses, and telephone numbers (most of which were already on the application itself).By day 4, the application was still not complete. I found myself thinking, I had better call X property management company AGAIN to make sure they send in the documents. Then I realized, no, that is Jonathan Benitezs job.I do not work for Morguard Corporation, Jonathan Bentiez does.Instead, I gave Mr. Benitez a deadline to complete his work, and he had nothing but lame excuses. Spoiler alert: Jonathan Benitez did not complete the work. I sort of knew he wouldnt complete it, because the fact that I gave him a deadline seemed like a guarantee that he would dig in and refuse to do his job.I canceled my application on day 7 because Jonathan Benitez was still unable to complete my application. After a week, it appears that Mr. Benitez was still waiting for me to jump through hoops on his behalf instead of doing it himself.I contacted two members of management at this company as well - prior to posting this review - and received no reply.I have since signed a lease elsewhere. Furthermore, the agent completed the application in ONE (1) business day and I did not have to call my former landlords or otherwise do her job for her. The agent even contacted me on her day off (Sunday) to ensure everything was right.Mr. Benitez was unable/unwilling to complete the same work in 7 days, which the majority of leasing agents can complete in 1 day.I find Jonathan Benitez to be extremely unprofessional. I have never had to contact former landlords on behalf of a leasing agent before. I have never had an application take longer than 2-3 days, and Jonathan Benitez was unwilling to complete an application in 7 days. And it appears that because I gave Mr. Benitez a deadline to complete his work, he simply made the unilateral decision to prevent me from being a resident at this property.A scan of reviews here also mention Jonathan Benitez by name, and it was not in a complimentary way. Mr. Benitezs unprofessionalism does appear to be a recurring problem, and it isnt just me.
I moved out about three months ago after spending a year here and have never looked back. I can only recommend that you not look here. If you do, make sure youre on the top floor, invest in ear plugs, and practice your patience/serenity exercises. The property is pretty enough, gorgeous in fact, and the apartments are nice and spacious. However, it takes all of five minutes walking bare foot in the apartment to realize they put no padding under the carpet. This leads to hearing EVERY. SINGLE. STEP. youre upstairs neighbors make. So even if you dont have necessarily noisy neighbors, youre gonna hear them. Heaven forbid they have a child that runs around. My then fiance has PTSD, he basically could not spend the night here due to the constant thudding.Dont bother trying to get in touch with the front desk staff, their take is Handle it yourself. Especially the *property manager*. Every time I dealt with her, I walked away with a headache. Talk about someone who could not care less about her customers.Speaking of the office staff, dont bother trying to contact them directly, the refuse to answer an email direct to their inbox. Instead, email the generic email address and hopefully they will get back to you in a week.On the other hand, every time I dealt with any member of maintenance, they were overly helpful and courteous. Maybe they should transfer them to the front office.Again, property looks great, and for the money, its a great deal, but due to the noise level and lack of caring from the front desk, stay away.... Stay far away!!
If you like bugs youβll like it here..The only move I recommend from this βestablishmentβ is out..
I have been here going on two years and I never have any issues. Very responsive to anything I need done and great people to work with
My wife and I had lived here from March 2018 to February 2020. We had to move for work and we really miss this property!Pros:1. The walking path around the lake is wonderful.2. The apartments are kept up to date with remodels in-between tenants.(We witnessed these with neighbors as leases lapsed)3. The upkeep is continuous throughout the year in regards to stairway cleanings and in apartment air filter replacements.4. The staff isnt an overburden when it comes to tenant notifications. (Our new staff is bad about implementing bad policies.)Cons:1. We were in a corner building and close parking was hard to come by. I am not sure what could be done to fix this problem. However, cheap garages were available compared to other apartment complexes.2. When we moved in the front office staff was not the greatest (ignore requests/ rude on the phone). Upon moving out this had tremendously improved. Where we had had pleasant conversations on the phone with the staff.3. My wife is a gym enthusiast and would have loved an update to the gym onsite.4. Maintenance is a bit slower to respond to work orders. (Common in apartment industry) We noticed that in some cases the maintenance concern would not be fully fixed and we would have to open another work order.Overall, we would absolutely recommend these apartments to people moving into the area.
I am currently a resident and have had nothing but great experiences with The lodge at Crossroads. The staff has always been friendly and quick to respond to any report of issues, the grounds are up-kept beautifully and the pond/walking path is such an incredible bonus, the maintenance staff has a very quick response time, I could go on and on. I highly recommend this apartment complex if you are looking for something updated, conveniently located, and reasonably priced.
As a vendor, (Ebony Child by Design), I love working together with the Lodge at Crossroads for their great community events. The staff is amazing and I love the people from the community as well. It is a beautiful location as well! It is always a pleasure to work with them during the year.
I one sentence if I want to describe them, they are really awful.
When we moved in our master bedroom did not have a ceiling fan. After a few false starts I spoke to the Community Manager, Kerri. She and I had a long talk and she ordered the ceiling fan for us. Yesterday, Carlos the maintenance supervisor came and installed our new ceiling fan and it only took him about 15 minutes! Now we are all happy and the ceiling fan is being used all the timeThank you for addressing this issue and for the prompt installation after the fan arrived.
Edit 10/6/20The property is trying to bury this review by paying off residents with free pizza. Ironically, this review is all about responsiveness and respect, which this management group has none of either.4 emails to corporate (none responded too)Over 40 emails with the property manager.Again, I stress that this is a nice place to live. Just ask yourself if you have a nuisance come up and need help, do you want to be treated this way? I have made my career in customer service and if I did this I would have lost my job 10 times over. And rightly so.Actual review:Pros: Unit layouts are nice (good floor plans) and it is easy to make it homey. Our unit has a view of the pond and greenway. Lots of activity outside but it doesnt bother us.Lots of storage.Large windows for natural light.Location is great - everything you need is close.Cons: Leasing office is the most unprofessional I have ever dealt with in my 10 years of renting.1. Repeatedly spelled my name wrong on emails, had to sent the lease back for a correction, and 1 person in particular always rushes you off the phone. Simply lazy and irritating.2. Would not respond to emails. Or, would be VERY slow (4-5+ days).3. We had a mouse in our apartment that we caught, another died in the walls. Our pantry is unusable because the death and decay smell taints food. Opening the door smells up the whole apartment for 2 or 3 minutes. However, the manager came over to smell it and disagreed. They left a maintenance request open with no updates (permission to enter was given) for 2 weeks. Its just rude to never update your residents on your plans especially when you have permission to walk in randomly during business hours.Emergency or big ticket issues seem to be addressed effectively and in a timely manner (no a/c, water leaks, etc) Its the smaller issues that seem to just be ignored because customer service and pest control doesnt matter here.Regarding the unit:We do have a unit above us and we hear everything. Annoying, but not a deal-breaker. Live on a top floor unit if it bugs you. This is a common trade-off in apartment living.Bugs: we live by a pond. Yes, it can get buggy. During heavy rain sometimes cockroaches will rush in when we open the door. Not the apartments fault like stated in other reviews. Just be aware of it and dont make it easy for the little critters to get in.The takeaway here is the property is nice, the units are nice, the other tenets seem nice, and I believe it is a fair value for the money. The ONLY reason we are not renewing our lease is the unprofessional and incompetent management.Edited 8/27/20 for length and new information below. We caught another mouse! Thats 2 total and at least 1 dead in the wall. Maybe now you can stop denying there is a problem and make an effort to do something. Trying once and saying tough luck is not acceptable. I am paying my rent in-full and on-time during a pandemic when everyone is having to make various type of sacrifices.Im not even upset you havent eradicated the mice or tried to get the smell out of my pantry. My key issue right now is how we have been treated as tenants throughout this process.Edit 8/31/20All it took was raising hell online, 2 emails to corporate and now it seems the tone of our communication has changed. Suddenly emails are being returned and a solution has been offered for the first time. Lets see where this goes.Edit 9/30/20They patched a hole in the wall behind the washer that was letting mice in and painted our pantry. But, to speak to the incompetence of management, the painters had to come back. Attempt number 1, with a member of staff supervising, they only painted the baseboards in the pantry. Attempt number 2, they finally painted the actual pantry. It does smell better for what its worth, not that it smells good but just like paint. Thats all we were asking for so if this doesnt work, its not on them. How we got here and how long it took is the driver behind this review though.
The Lodge at Crossroads is a wonderful place to live. Im writing this under my boyfriends account but my name is Erica. My sister and I started living at the Lodge about a year ago. It was our first time renting an apartment and we couldnt be happier with our experience. The apartment was a great space and we loved our little view of the lake from our patio. The amenities like the club house, the computer room, the pool and the 24hour Gym were all kept in good condition and kept clean. The ladies in the office are all wonderful. My sister and I hand countless silly questions to ask and each time our questions were answered with a warm smile and a simple answer. The maintenance people are fantastic. The few times we needed them (fixing the garbage disposable, putting up a light fixture, fixing the A.C.) The guys came quickly and finished their task the same way, very nice people. If you are a pet person this place is for you!!! Countless people walking their dogs at all ours of the day, also there is a newly refinished dog park right in the middle of the place. The track around the lake is a great place fore a walk dog or no dog. The location was also very convenient shopping center within walking distance and right next to the Crossroads Shopping Center. If you are in the area and are looking for a new place of residence i highly suggest The Lodge at Crossroads.- Erica Napoli
Very nice place and very convenient next to walking trail
Disclaimer; I am not a resident at this property. My girlfriend and I visited The Lodge over the weekend and were immediately greeted with a smiling face from Phillip. We had no appointment and were just in the area for the day hoping to see what could be our future home.Phillip was incredible. He was extremely knowledgable, polite, and witty. His customer service was unlike anything I have experienced - especially compared to other communities we toured that same day. Then came the community. Iβm actually quite shocked by some of the reviews. Again, Iβm not a resident so I cannot speak on noise between apartments (even though you cannot have the unrealistic expectation that youβll have complete silence in an apartment community), nor any issues with the trash compactor. Instead, Iβll just touch on the common sense issues. The bugs should be expected and understood since you live in a wooded area BY A LAKE.Then the reviews about the maintenance crew with their leaf blowers being obnoxiously loud - do you want the bugs and dirty halls or the blowers?Overall, the property was beautiful, office staff great, and the apartments were spacious. This place was something out of a dream for us and we are hopeful to call it our home in the near future.Remember, reviews are generally written by those extremely upset that do not actually wish to correspond with the office to come to a resolution, and those who were left with an overall great impression. We are definitely the latter.
A very beautiful community with a cordial and discreet leasing staff. Philip happily answered all of my questions and made my visit truly a pleasure!
Never met a group of people who were more unwilling to assist you. Would NOT recommend this place!!
Cant wait to get out of here! The office staff is extremely rude and impossible. The manager NEVER responds to emails or voicemails which I have left many of. I actually stopped in the office yesterday to ask about possibly upgrading to a larger more expensive apartment with a garage since my lease is almost up. I shared this information and the leasing agent (whos name I will not mention in this review) was rude and rushed me out the door. Her words to me were that I could see pricing and availability on the website and didnt need to come into the office. Im a real estate broker and understand this but I came in because I wanted more information on features and wanted to walk through a specific layout. She couldnt be bothered. She didnt smile once, didnt offer to show me anything, and didnt give me any information even though I came in truly interested and would have signed an agreement that day. I truly felt like I was just an inconvenience which reminded me of why I didnt want to renew my lease here to begin with.Additionally, the breezeways are disgusting and the bugs are awful. Complained about bugs for 2 months and had to threaten to contact corporate before they finally sent an exterminator up.This is sad because I like the layout and I like the location. The maintenance staff is the only bright part of this complex. I realized that in order to get anything done, I need to go out and ask the maintenance staff for help. The office staff here is useless and is the reason I am not renewing my lease here at the Lodge at Crossroads. After chatting with a group of my neighbors, I found out that I am not the only one who feels this way. I think I am a pretty nice guy, very patient, and I avoid confrontation. I even thanked the leasing agent for her time even though she didnt help me at all and left me feeling discouraged. Like I said before, the location is great and I have some great neighbors here, but I am tired of being ignored and pushed aside by the office staff. I think corporate needs to come in and take over or work on training staff on customer service and relations. Because of the office staff, I will be issuing my 60 day notice and have been in contact with the Park at Crossroads (neighboring community) about leasing in their community when my lease is done with the Lodge.
Looks like a great apartment. But I went to the apartment office to ask about leasing and sat in there for over 10 mins... There was absolutely no one there to talk to. Had to get up and leave.
After nearly 8 years Ive escaped the Lodge and want to let others know to stay away! The complex I moved into looks nothing like the one I moved out of.The list goes on: Terribly rude office staff, dog poop everywhere, deteriorating exteriors, paint chipping off, obnoxious behavior at the pool with no rules enforced, landscaping is non-existent (so you better like dead, bare bushes and exposed roots under trees), dirty breezeways with bugs, and a too-small trash compactor that overflows on weekends into the street. If you want a great location with places to eat and drink within walkable distance or shopping and entertainment nearby, this is a great spot. Just know youll be living in a deteriorating complex (I think there were almost 40 vacant units when I moved) when there are much nicer and maintained places elsewhere. Find your luxury apartment somewhere else.
Friendly staff, grounds are well kept, and the apartments are the nicest youll find. Lakendria, the Community Manager, is awesome and super helpful. She went well out of her way to help me and my roommates when trying to transfer to a larger apartment. Would recommend living here to anyone!
Decent apartments at affordable rent with abundant parking and cooperative staff (love ya ladies, you do an awesome job resolving issues and keeping us happy).Been over an year and no major complaints. If you are looking for value for your bucks..this is the place.~Sreedhar
I know that this is a pretty long review, but if you are considering moving into this apartment please read this! This apartment is not that bad if youre a big fan of rude and incompetent staff, ridiculous raises in renewing leases, bugs, and smokey heating system. The staff before I applied here was extremely helpful and always seemed to have a smile, but the moment I became a resident their true character came out. They became rude and always seemed annoyed the moment I stepped into their office and asked for my packages. They would get it, but would let out a load sigh right before getting up every time. Its OK to feel annoyed I guess, but show some professionalism! Dont do it in front of the customer!!!Had some crazy bug problems during the summer. Had a crazy fruit fly infestation. We never left food out and always had dishes cleaned and trash taken out every night, but the fruit fly were everywhere. Have these tiny little bugs crawling around and after doing research they were carpet bugs. Not sure where they came from since my wife vacuums the apartment at least once a week. The last thing was when I was cleaning out the storage I moved a box, where I discovered multiple dead crickets and the one responsible for it. One of the largest Black Widow spider I have ever seen. I immediately stepped on the spider and called the main office to get pest control to come by. They said that he will stop by on the following Wednesday, but the guy never showed up. I called the apartment two more times and every time they told me he will come, but never did. I eventually got tired of waiting and bought the chemicals and sprayed the apartment I lived at.When winter came by I went and turned on the heater. The heater then started smoking and the fire alarm went off which I then turned off the heater immediately and opened the window to get the smoke out. I called emergency maintenance to get this looked at but all I got was a phone call saying that its normal for this to happen. He told me if I try it at least 2 more times it should run just fine. Open a window for a while was his quick fix response... WTH!?Now after an entire year of living here dealing with all kinds of problems that the apartment has neglected to fix I finally got the renewal letter. I peeked inside and they now want $102 more than what I am currently paying for now. I am not going to pay them close to $937 for a basic 1 bedroom apartment. These people are completely out of their minds. Best decision ever was getting out.
I have been a resident for 18 months. The Lodge has been very receptive to any concern. My renewal was reasonable. I highly recommend this apartment community.
Would not recommend. Good location but in my opinion thats about it.
Cunning people and cunning management.
If I based my decision off of the reviews, I would NOT have moved here... But Im glad I came to view the property, to see for myself. Ive lived here for 9 months and I cannot complain at all. I have not had any issues with maintenance requests, staff, bugs, or noise. I was very happy with the renewal offers and I would recommend this property to anyone moving to this area. Hope it stays this way!
I am not one to write a review at all. Honestly, I think it is a joke. When I saw that there were more 1 π reviews I couldnt believe it. I will try to make this short. I moved in at the end of January. I looked at a layout with a woman that was from the sister company that didnt know much, but I get it. I always thought about living here but it was too expensive. Now, I honestly think it was a great deal giving the time of year and everything. The office staff is always so nice and so is maintenance. They get things done very fast and efficient. I delt with Phillip mostly and he was so kind and did not rush me. Neither did anyone in that office. ( Also I know their time is valuable working in this job). The office manager, I can not remember his name took care of my issues in less than 20 min and kept on top of it. The office staff and maintenance says hi and asks me how me and my pup are doing EVERY morning. I LOVE IT!! I had 4 hard months of loud a** neighbors, but how is that anyones fault but theirs? If u have an issue, go to the office like I did. The office manager sent out a letter and it stopped immediately. I found out they moved out but you can not bash the apartment complex for loud noises from your neighbors if you do not do anything about it. I waited 4 months.....AND MY GOD...everyone complaining about the bugs????? U live in NC...it is going to happen. If u have a lot in your apartment, CLEAN IT. I live on the first floor and have none. I am a relocated Yankee myself. I am from Michigan. Give these people a break. Do not give them a 1 star review because of bugs, or the fact u went in on a weekend to talk to them, when they only have 1 person available like every other apartment complex. My rant is done. They are doing great in my book!!! I have lived in a few other apartments and a town home, and so far, this is great! So, everyone has something to complain about. Mine were my previous neighbors upstairs, which was handled, and I wish the ppl picked up their dogs poop, as they should. And I wish the lawn was cut a little lower. That is it.
Please stay away!!!!!!!! this place has become worse than the ghetto, bugs, maintenance is a complete joke a 90 year old woman is more competent than all of them combined, loud neighbors who allow their kids to run wild in the parking lot. Trash in breeze ways, trash and furniture always outside of the dumpsters pretty soon we will see rats like the ones in the city. and please dont write back saying that you are sorry. I know that you are not sorry. if you are sorry you would have the decency to listen to people who are spending $1,000.00 more a month. Listen to their concerns and stop leasing to anyone who shows up to put in an application.
Noisy neighbors upstairs. Talked to the staff over the last 8 months or so about this. Given bad advice, I was told at first to always bring complaints to the front office, then I was told over the phone the other day by Kerrie (Community Manager) that complaints like that should go through the police... was then told by her it was my own misunderstanding (wow). Im pretty forgiving when it comes to noise, but when a dog barks and whines for 10 hours straight due to separation anxiety etc. its not good for the animal or all of the surrounding neighbors; some people just dont know how to be responsible adults. Furthermore, the people above me are up and stomping around on purpose until around 12am, not fun... its turning into That type of community.Furthermore my recent lease renewal was incorrect, we changed my lease agreement at the last minute when Id already paid for this month. They charged me for the prorate of the full 3 days from April 28 thru April 30th... the true equation for this would be the difference between the new prorate and the old prorate.Steer clear folks, not only do they not communicate properly, and/or not take care of bothersome neighbors, they dont know how to properly prorate or write up a lease agreement. Simple math folks... simple math.Furthermore, fire extinguishers in their clubhouse werent serviced since 2016... those are supposed to be serviced annually in the same month. If theres a fire and those chemical extinguishers dont work... huge liability, and just horribly unsafe.Lastly, theres a piece of gym equipment (cardio) that hasnt worked for months now; Im not in the gym often but enough to notice.
Ive been here for over a year now and its ok... I find this community extremely noisy. I work from home and hear my upstairs neighbors every single movement. Considering the previous tenants above me had a dog and 2 adults and I hear these 2 guys all the time, it makes me think the construction is kinda crappy. Also the lawn/apt maintenance seems to happen fairly often but they just use a power blower to blow debris away and aim it directly at your walls and front door. Parking and garbage disposal is limited for the number of multi bedroom apartments there are too. Everything here is just ok. Not bad, not good, just meh. Plus side is that its easy access from here to Raleigh and I-40 and its close to a greenway and parks.
Amending my previous review because ownership & management changed. There have been 4 inspections of our apartment in the last year since, which is a pain when you have a job and a dog that has to be elsewhere when it happens. I own a rental property and I would never go inside during someones occupancy without good reason or repair needed. People still seem to be friendly but maintenance staff head count was cut significantly, online payment system down frequently, we had a package go missing and it turned up in clubhouse but no one bothered to notify us of this...just not going in the right direction here. Were moving.---------We chose The Lodge mostly for the pet-friendliness (proximity to greenway trails, dog park, etc.) as well as the overall super-convenient location. We have been pleasantly surprised by the staffs extremely quick responses to any kind of request or concern that we have had since we have moved in - in particular the maintenance staff has been very knowledgeable and very fast to respond when something has needed repair. Since these are apartments 0f course some neighbor noise comes with the territory, but we chose a unit that only shares one wall with another unit in order to minimize that, so that is an option. Also we have an attached garage so our rent is on the high side only for that reason. Definitely very happy with our choice to move to The Lodge!
Sent in an application for an apartment and literally had to call every day to get an update because I got no email of approval or next steps and every time I called they had no update for me. After 2 weeks of following up everyday, I have heard nothing back. Extremely upset that we spent $100 on an application that never went anywhere. Waste of time and money. Would never want to live at a place with management like this.
This place sucks. The management team quite incompetent and negligent. They were so slow in responding to issues in my apartment and often failed to resolve the issues. They are rude and dont value their residents. I seriously want to let you know that there are so many other options in Cary and now that we have moved out I wish I would have done it sooner. If you dont believe me check out the reviews for this place on other websites like Yelp, etc....
Just called and the person answering the phone seemed uninterested and did not provide much information (actually yawned on the phone). I would have loved to have visited the property, but after that phone call not so sure!
MY NAME HAS BEEN USED THOUGH IVE NEVER BEEN THERE.JF
The worst customer service - I will never rent at the Lodge again!
Very unhappy
Rude staff
