I just moved to Cary and was in search of a new apartment, my experience at Cortland Cary apartment was really nice. There was a young lady named Jessica there who attended to someone else that I was impressed by how professional and polite to the person she was talking to. I have been to other apartment complex and they’re not very nice Jessica was very nice and pleasant. She listen to to them and acknowledge all the concerns she was very nice and polite and just good at what she does that I decided that I was going to work with her but she was very busy so I’ll be going back there because of Jessica this is a very beautiful apartment and I was very impressed by the employee and decor and everything so I look forward to seeing Jessica and hopefully rent from this apartment complex .

I have truly enjoyed my stay on this property and love living in this area. The leasing office is great to work with especially the maintenance team. James and his crew has responded to every concern or minor repair with my unit efficiently and time effectively. I actually have never been able to feel so reassured in maintenance at any property I have ever stayed until High Croft. I look forward to my third year of stay.

I have truly enjoyed my time at Cortland Highcroft. Unlike so many other apartment complexes, the setting and landscaping here is beautiful, like an established neighborhood. The staff is friendly and professional, the residents are friendly and the community is incredibly peaceful and quiet. Theres also a great mix of residents. Just a nice, pleasant, safe place to live. Also, there have been lots of upgrades and improvements lately. And finally, the location is convenient to pretty much everything.

Cortland Highcroft has been my home for about 2 months now. My experience here has been very pleasant. Kendra at the front office has been especially good to me! She made moving into first apartment a very smooth transition. She has taken the time out to get to know me on a first name basis and is very sweet! Thank you Kendra!

Cortland Highcroft is a great apartment community. The location is great for commuting, the grounds always look pretty good, and the team there is super friendly and personable. Kendra was super knowledgeable about the community/area and always willing to help throughout my moving process. If youre looking for an apartment in the area check them out!

HIGHCROFT is THE PLACE TO BE! It’s convenient to highways, Excellent restaurants and plenty of shopping. The layouts are awesome. The Maintenance and management are great and will jump right in if ever there’s a problem. Put this one on you list!

I have to say Cortland Highcroft has been a great place to live. I’ve been here for the last 6 months and have really enjoyed it. Nice quiet neighborhood and close to everything you need. The manger Stephanie and assistant manager Kendra have been really helpful helpful and a pleasure to deal with! I highly recommend living here.

The community is gorgeous. I love that we have a tennis court onsite and the location is perfect as it allows me and my wife to easily commute to work!

If you’re looking for a comfortable, welcoming place, please GO ELSEWHERE!!! The management here is horrible and unfriendly. I usually don’t write reviews but it was so bad here I felt the need to. Very disappointed since this area is so great and sought after, honestly such a shame.

Ive been living here for the past few years and property management has changed tremendously especially the new one! No one in this building is helpful nor courteous to the residents that live here! They all are rude, inconsiderate, disrespectful, and by no means honest about anything we discuss. This is the worse property hands down when it comes to customer service! DO NOT MOVE HERE YOU WILL REGRET IT! Save yourself some time and money and look elsewhere!

DONT MOVE HERE, they don’t offer any amenities. Gym AC has been broken for over a year, pool can’t be cleaned, but you pay an arm and leg for no reason. Worst management who literally hangs up on you and won’t answer the phone if you call back. Won’t reply to messages or even give you the time of day. DO NOT DO IT IF YOU WANT A GOOD PLACE TO LIVE

I have rented my whole life. Been in many apartment complexes. With this one in particular, every time I have a problem with maintenance, it never gets fixed. I dont want to live at this place any more. Its a worst apartment I have ever been lived and ******worst management and office staff******* I ever deal with. Worst experience. Worst apartment complex. Worst staff. PLEASE IGNORE THE GOOD REVIEWS and stay away from these people. The new management sucks even more.

I placed a Maintenance order to have my filter replaced. I’m pleased to say that I got an email that told me my order had been received and then I got another email telling me that my maintenance order was being worked on. The maintenance staff was kind,courteous and fast and they wore masks which I appreciated. They changed my filter very quickly which I appreciated because I work from home. Im confident that going forward any issues that I have will be handled with the same level of professionalism.

Very Negative: Very bad experience applying for a house here. We have been working with a sales person for 3-4 days and their website for application was not working. We called them on Saturday but they couldnt solve it. They sent us a paper application and asked us to fill it and hand it over on Monday. When we went to their office to hand over they said that apartment is gone. Wow. Then whats the point? You should have asked us to come on Saturday itself when your website was not working.We thought we got this flat because we couldnt complete the process they will have some way to hold it. It caused us a great deal of inconvenience. And there is absolutely no acknowledgment from their side of their mistake. Its their website issue and they should own it and help applicants. Strong thumbs down to this Cortland Highcroft apartment.

The maintenance team is very knowledgeable about what they do and the work orders that I’ve placed are completed in a timely fashion. They are very polite as well.

Was looking for Apartments in the Cary area, the staff at Highcroft was very helpful at answering questions, discussing options. Both Stephanie and Donya went above and beyond to help as I continue to look at this complex. Even though Im not in the Cary area, I would highly recommend these apartments based on how well they are managed, ran and the courtesy of the staff. Will definitively keep these in mind as I consider.

I just want to say the maintenance supervisor is amazing and such a hard worker. He moves around like he owns the place. The 2 young ladies in the office are always helpful and kind. The community manager is amazing as well. We see her out on property alot she always speak and wave. Couldnt have ask for a better team than the one we have at Cortland highcroft!!!!!

We love living here! I had a small issue in our apartment I have been putting off because I was afraid of any hassle, but when I finally decided to take care of it, Stephanie was very kind and prompt to solving it! I appreciate her caring attitude and willingness to help.

Employees that we interacted so far are very nice and friendly. Apartments are old, with some upgrades make it reasonable for the price. So far maintenance is very responsive and timely. I like big trees and pond, but needed bit maintenance. Some big trees are very close to apartments and create lot of debri around nice patio areas. Overall apartments are very lively and affordable.

Im so happy to be a resident of the new Cortland Highcroft community. I have seen great things with the new management change and am excited for the future my family will have here. Cortland has already made my house feel like a home!

Ive been here for almost a year now and it has been a mostly great experience. The apartment was in great shape, one pretty serious repair was needed when the tenant above had flooding. However, the maintenance team responded promptly and fixed my issue, as well as paying to deep clean the whole carpet. The one red flag I do have is that the rent is not only increasing after one lease term, the term is now shortening by half. The longest lease term offered is 7 months. I hope that is not an excuse to increase the rent again.

Please do yourself a favor and stay away from this place!! Had a negative experience.

NEGATIVE-The updated management(Cortland) didnt make any difference, in-fact ruined the existing. I wasted my valuable time based on the information available on their official website. I made an appointment for the unit that shows available on their website and once I reach there, they said its not available for renting.

The office staff is very helpful and easy to work with!! Stephanie was especially helpful!! The amenities are top-notch.

The new management seems great so far. They are very friendly and have already started some much needed improvements to the landscaping and its nice to finally have some resident events like food trucks and breakfast to go.

I really would like to compliment the Manager, Jennie. She really makes her residents feel like their needs are important. Her customer service focus on making Brook Arbor a place to call home is top level. Brook Arbor is nestled in Cary, but has a charm youve been looking for. Go check them out!

I’ve been living here for 14 years!! Manangement had changed several times but they do a pretty good job. Follow ups on requests to get items fixed can be a little stressful but eventually it gets done. Trying to speak to a manager is close to zero but once you do they are very helpful. I’ve had some trying times here but Brook Arbor comes through!

All the employees are very nice and friendly but in less than a year I had to call 3 times for my air conditioner. The last time I reported a problem with it nobody came to fix it. I’m still waiting, but overall a good experience.Annie

Rent is very low but our unit had a problem with infestation of roaches. We had them spray for bugs but it did not go away. The air duct was not clean (perhaps mold?) causing me to have problem with chronic coughing and phlem. I noticed that so I tried to go out during the day to reduce the irritation. We ended up staying 2 out of 3 month lease.They owed us the deposit money of $200.00 It has been almost 2 months and we still did not receive it. The staff said it was mailed out 2 weeks ago but never got to us. I left emails and phone calls but no one got back.

I am staying in Brook Arbor for appx couple of years. Staying over here is fun and properties are very well maintained.

Had the worst experience ever!

Caution new applicants - Rent looks very low here but after you apply and give your money, they ask for your social security number, your proof of income, your employment info, your rental history info, your GC/visa etc. Then after two weeks, they tell you your request is rejected because you dont comply with some policy which they wont tell you upfront. and the most important thing is you cant get your money back!!!! They cheated me 100 bucks for rejecting me. I now seriously doubt that only available apartment when I apply is truly available. Good luck if you DARE try!

We have been living at Brook Arbor for last 1.5 years and we love this place. Nice locality and nice people. Dave is very good manager. He is cooperative and understanding. Maintenance staff is superb. Always helpful and prompt.

I have been here for close to 6 months and I love it. Its a beautiful setting, everyone in the office has been extremely kind, and the one maintenance issue I had was dealt with quickly. The entire maintenance staff go above and beyond, in keeping the complex safe and in good repair.

Very worst maintenance in this apartment... locality n house is good.. but,we have many problems in our house which we had informed them.. still they didnt fix it.. mainly in the bathroom a black residue comes from the tap.. which we cannot put that water to rinse our mouth after brushing teeth😬😖..stove is not aligned properly,its slant n cannot cook evenly. toilet water flushing has always a problem with almost all our neighbors house in this apartment... totally I recommend this is not a good place for anyone to live in

We have been living here 13 months. It is an older complex which means the rooms are bigger :) Great closet size and enough room to move around in the kitchen. All maintenance requests have been resolved that day or early the next day. Staff are all polite and friendly. Neighbors are quiet LOVE the gym !!!! It is probably what sold us on this place. We come here for contract work and will be back here for the next contract.

Absolutely the worst experience Ive ever had living in an apartment. If you arent a fan of roaches, DO NOT LIVE HERE. My husband and I are less than pleased with how much of a dump this place is. We moved here from CT looking for a cheap place to stay for a year but were going to leave well before that lease is over. Water bugs = ROACHES and weve seen/killed 7 so far. Look them up...theyre at least 1.5 to 2 inches with big legs and theyre fast to catch. Never mind the little roaches crawling around. .different variations but theyre in and on everything. Weve Always prided ourselves on keeping a clean house and NEVER had a problem like this. I hate it here. Will be evacuating soon.

The AC in the gym never works, Cant fix it. This summer, temparature is always above 80 degrees in the gym, how do you workout if the AC in the gym is not functional and they are charging $40 every month for amenities and trash. Simply, ridiculous. New management is even worse than the previous management. Stay away if you can....

Average place with poor maintenance experience. Called, emailed them to fix the windows for almost 6-7 times and nothing happened.Also the appliances sucks as they are super old and rusty.The cleanliness within community is kind of OK, not very clean and the green landscapes are only maintained at very few places near by tennis court and rental office.

INFESTATION OF COCKROACHES. Repairs are REFUSED and rent increases almost every month and you cant leave because of contract.

I’m living here since 2013 and I didn’t have any problem I love this apartment but since the management changed I register my complaint in the end of June or starts July and reminds them 5 to 6 time still my work not done and they don’t even remember I think this is my last year here

Ive been living here about a year and half and I havent had any of the problems one of the prior posters experienced.If anything everyone here, staff and residents included, have been extremely polite and helpful to me. The place worked with me quite well in moving in even though I was moving from NY and a large percentage of the paperwork had to be done via electronic means / faxing / etc.Ive had no issues with plumbing short of a garbage disposal going out on me and they had that replaced literally the same day I called about it. In fact, any maintenance requests Ive made have always been handled same day or early next morning. And the maintenance guys are nice to boot - Ive sat there and chatted with them while they work - theyre nice folks.There *are* some areas of the landscaping that are dry, but its not that big of thing to me personally. The majority of the landscape is very well kept. As for debris: if anything Im used to seeing one of the grounds keepers making the rounds in my back yard area routinely to pick up any debris that may happen to be around.I cant comment much on the cost to worth ratio. I came from NY where I was paying $975/mo for a cramped, run down, 1BR apartment. Ive got a 2BR / 2 bath with dining area and much larger kitchen, central AC and heat for less than what I was paying for the 1BR in NY with much faster turn around on maint requests, so I may be a little biased.Maybe its me - Ive also yet to see a pot hole in this place. I mean, I have trouble looking at the area, grounds, and parking lots and seeing how the word dangerous or unkept applies and I actually feel safer here, by a long shot, than I did in my last dwelling up north. Again, perhaps Im biased there.Personally I like the place a lot. I was actually happy to renew my lease at the end of the first year.

These people just lie. Save yourself the headache and avoid them. I am having to take them to court over lies about carpet damage. No body will return a call and they just send me to collections before the court date. I am going to continue to fight them but they have no ethics. AVOID THEM!!

I used to love this placeI moved here about 3-4 months ago and let me tell you it has been everything I wanted in an apartment and more. First off, I love the apartment. The paint isnt cheap/easily scuffed. The windows dont leak air. The layouts are amazing and the amount of storage is undeniably something to be in awe over. My friends love this place almost as much as I do. They have a very tolerant pet policy and have beautiful grounds for me to take my dogs on walks around on. The gym is great. I mean, quite literally the only thing it is missing is barbells. The only reason I havent canceled my gym membership is because its $7 and because it has barbells. The Staff here have been easily the BEST part of my experience. From day one, David and Kal have been there for me with all of my needs. I actually enjoy walking into the front office and even frequently stop in just to chat, which I have never done in an apartment before. If you are hesitant about moving here, dont be. I absolutely love it and if I have had any issues (and I havent had many) the staff and servicemen are always quick and responsive.12/14/2018Since my last review the apartments have been bought out by idolben and things have gone downhill. The gym has been cut into a quarter of its size and essentially been made useless for anyone who actually wants to work out. This was the main reason I just this place (as for many of the other residents). They installed a dog park that my dog cant even get up to sprint speed in without hitting the other side of. They have installed absolutely horrible attachments to every sink and shower head. Now to take a shower you have to pull on a cord like quasimodo to start the shower. The staff have all quit and new ones have been brought in. I found out recently that the maintenance crew did not even have a key to my apartment so basically any of the requests for service I put in and was not home for were not actually performed but just marked as completed. Additionally, the maintenance staff member who helped me reach this conclusion, in front of a friend of mine mind you, lied to the entire office staff and said that they were all completed. The new company lacks knowledge of its population and direction in general. The new manager has to be blind. The new gym is going to have high end treadmills (ooohhhh) and a room where people can waste their time watching Shaun T on tv with medicine balls, TRE ropes and pilates equipment instead of taking actual instruction from the gym staff they used to have or, you know, working out. They have destroyed the one thing that made this apartment valuable. The heat sucks, electric bills are insane. The countertops are awful. The new apartments are $200+ more for fake hardwood. The sinks are backed up from that one time when the girl from the grudge made her debut in my bathroom. (Seriously though). I dont recommend living here, there are apartments in the area that are 40 years newer and for the same price for more quality.

The management is unhelpful and then when u move out they will charge u for unnecessary things and only give u 3 weeks to pay it. My refrigerator was broken for a year. Ant heaven for my apt.

THIS PLACE IS AWFUL!!!!I lived here temporarily and when we moved in there were spiders crawling everywhere, and spider webs on the windows. The apartment were very dirty and when we asked the office to clean nothing ever happened. In one bedroom the was this giagantic leak stain and I dont know what it was I just know it was a leak. It would also get very hot in the summers and the air counditioner would not work. We also addressed this problem and basically all they said was too bad there is nothing we can do. Honestly I hated this place.

STAY AWAY!!!We were looking for an apartment at a reasonable cost but this apartment complex was a bad choice.POSITIVESAllowed dogs (NEG - HUGE non-refundable security deposit).Parking garage under unit for storage.Nice gym.Decent pool area, hot tub never worked.Moderately decent place for the money.NEGATIVES- ROACHES, ROACHES, ROACHES. Call them whatever you want. The guy came out 4x in 5 months. I bombed the apartment 2x. I just moved in to my new house and unpacked in the garage, still finding roaches.- I spent more money cooling this apartment than I spent cooling my house 3x larger (average electric bill $141 @ 78F). Some days 95 the A/C would never shut off from 11am-7pm. The cooling coil was so filthy you could barely see the fins. Maintenance said it had a low charge (freon). Even after they fixed it it wasnt any better. The A/C unit was so old it was damn near clogged. They refused to do anything else.- A lot of the islands where the trees are there is nothing keeping the dirt from eroding. When it would rain mud would run across the parking lot. The mud would splash up on the side of your car.- Making a left turn in out out of the apartment during drive time canbe nearly impossible.- Our bedroom was under another garage unit. Every night I would wake up to their garage door opened bouncing the floor under my bed.- I had to tape plastic to the windows and fireplace because you could feel the draft off them. That did help with the heat radiating off the windows.OVERALLThe maintenance of this place leaves a lot to be desired. Look at the celings theres a reason there is fresh paint. The celings leak (water stains).- The gutters are so full of leaves they are ripping off the apartment. You cant run in your front door because the gutter is overflowing with water when it should be catching it.RECOMMENDATIONI would look for somewhere newer because the insulation/windows are HORRIBLE. The place is okay for the price.Bottom line would I move in knowing what I know now? HELL NO!!!

So many cockroaches...My family has been living here for six months now. TLDR: the complex is nice but our apartment has had enough issues that make us wish we had lived somewhere else for our short-term rental need.The Good:- Location. Weve been impressed how quickly we can get places.- Maintenance crew. James and his team have been great. Our apartment had and continues to have issues, but his team keeps resolving them. I think he even checked on us during his day off when we were dealing with an ongoing emergency issue.- Apartment is spacious and the attached garage is a plus.Needs Improvement:- Trash pickup. Its required to pay for a trash valet service amenity but they miss about a third of the time. I either bring it back in or walk it to the dumpster myself, but not all tenants do the same. Some just leave the trash outside for days. And what does that lead to? COCKROACHES! We are averaging about one a day now.- Maintenance issues. Ive submitted dozens of service requests. Issues include running toilets, clogged sinks, rusty dishwasher, broken fridge shelf, HVAC problems for weeks, hot water heater spewing a black substance, pest problems, etc.

Thanks to all the staff who are doing a reliable job. I was really happy with the way we welcomed my whole family, we were well accompanied. I am praying to God to protect and continue to provide good service to all, and you who have not yet passed my counselor that you can do so, you will not regret. I feel good In the space I live 🤩🥰😍🤩

I advise you all, after time of experience, I believe and he approves that it is the best management that I can meet. Am really surprised with their way of doing there and their apartments are at the Top.I advise you to rely on their advice. Thank you
