Everyone we came in contact with, from the Manager on down, were always very friendly and yet professional. It was really more like a resort than an apartment. Michael, one of the staff members, is indeed a great asset to the property. More than once we needed something and he was timely and efficient in getting us answers. The maintenance staff are outstanding. They all are very friendly and always professional in how they conduct their business. I dont hesitate in the slightest, to recommend Hawthorne at the Parkway as a place to live. - From a verified resident on ApartmentRatings

This apartment complex is one of the best in the area! There are a plethora of amenities including a stocked gym. The quality that you receive for what you pay is more than fair. The staff is what made this place special, though. Megan and Michael do an exceptional job with communication and deploying empathy. They are some of the nicest people Ive met!The maintenance team is solid as well! I had a gentleman named Nelson who take care of most of our requests. He was always timely, efficient, and an awesome conversationalist!5/5 🌟

We toured over a dozen apartment complexes in Cary, NC and we were very impressed with the Hawthorne at the Parkway. We ended up choosing another place solely because the Hawthorne just wasnt in the location we really wanted to be. But as far as the actual complex, it was our favorite overall. There are just some really nice amenities. The dog park is not an afterthought like many others, it is in the center and is huge with hammocks and agility objects for dogs. There is a legit cafe, very nice gym and pool and the apartments were nice. What stood out the most for us was Michael, who welcomed us and gave us a tour. I can honest say that he was one if the reasons we were really interested in the apartments there. While we were there, he so carefully focused on us and understanding clearly what we wanted. Surprisingly, we got this from very few of the places we toured. He has been at Hawthorne for 4 years, and Im pretty sure the management there know that he is the star and they better make sure never to lose him. In fact, I am leaving this review because I feel Michael made it so the complex earned it. Thanks Michael! So despite not living here, our impression of the place was excellent.

This complex is the best I have ever lived in! I stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment and it was perfect. It is clean around the area and everyone is friendly. The staff is amazing and very responsive to anything and everything. The location is close to everything and it’s a quiet area even though it’s right off the highway. There’s a ton of great amenities too.

I was in a tight bind and needed to relocate due to work and fortunately I was able to transfer to another Hawthorne Community! Michael was super friendly and helped me through the process virtually. Moving in the middle of a pandemic is not easy so I appreciate his compassion and patience. Overall, I enjoyed my time at this property. Its a very diverse community with families, children, and pets. The amenities are top notch with creative events for residents, a community garden, gym, several dog parks, a car wash station, clubhouse, and package hub. The apartments are large and have an open concept space. And its conveniently located to everything you need in Cary including grocery stores and eateries. The apartments are on the older side so I did incur frequent and ongoing maintenance issues which became a nuisance over time. And it seems that the skill level for some of maintenance staff could be improved. However, Nelson is by far the best!! He is friendly and is very intentional about resolving the maintenance issue in a timely manner. And since the community is older and surrounded by trees, outside bugs were frequent too. Otherwise, my time with Hawthorne at the Parkway was great. The staff including Megan and Michael really care about the residents and will go above and beyond to address any concerns and will ensure that you feel welcome at home. That is definitely hard to find! No matter what the issue was, I knew they would take priority in getting it resolved. Thank you!!

I am looking to relocate from out of state and have been researching all of the apartment complexes in the area. I recently visited and toured Hawthorne at the parkway. To say it is everything I am looking for us an understatement. The property and all of the amenities are fantastic. I am looking for a 2 bedroom but love this complex so much out of everything that I have toured that I will take any floor plan when I am ready to move.My tour was done by Megan and I have to say, it was the best tour of any complex I have toured. Why you ask? 100% because of Megan. She is so informative and personable. I left that tour with a friend. Super attention to detail and customer service.

When I got a Doberman, I knew finding an apartment would be difficult because many (if not most) have breed restrictions. Someone suggested that I look into Hawthorne at the Parkway because it was super dog friendly. I called with my speech in hand - “I have a dog that is usually a restricted breed. She’s been formally trained, isn’t destructive to property, cuddles with kitties, etc.” Michael told me that they welcome all dogs and would love to have us join the community. I felt so relieved that my girl would be accepted here. I could list a dozen other things that makes this place great, but I came here to mention this for dog owners looking for a great place to live. Because these apartments are so high in demand and there aren’t many residents moving out, I wasn’t able to snag one in the tight timeframe I had for a move. Michael did call me as soon as a unit expectedly opened up though, so make sure you get in touch with him if you’re interested in the community!

Our roof is leaking again (still?) I hate it here. This place is a little too expensive for this to keep happening. Actually get it fixed! It is spreading across the floor too. Such a dump. Just unacceptable. Pathetic. I had to get the corporate office involved since the front office made it clear that they would take no immediate action. Then apparently someone from the front office complained to corporate about my having left a negative review. I wouldn’t have had to if the leak had been fix the first time, or the second time, or the third time... I feel like I have been more than understanding when we were left without hot water and heated air twice during the winter and with all these leaks, but even I have my limit. Also, there is some man who patrols the complex and tells people that he is the neighborhood watch. The front desk confirmed that there is no neighborhood watch and said he was the “courtesy officer,” which is actually just a polite industry term for security guard. But they also said he isn’t on the payroll and has no actual authority. This would seem to me that the corporation that owns this complex isn’t directly liable for his actions or safety. They also don’t inform anyone of his existence when you move in, which would make it impossible for him to discern who belongs here or not when his is doing one of his patrols. It seems odd to me that if he is here to “help” the tenants after hours, which is what the front desk said, then why don’t they give us his contact information and tell us he exists. If I had known of this before I moved in I never would have signed a lease.

I lived at Hawthorne at the Parkway for 5 years, and only moved because I purchased a home. This is not a brand new community, so you cannot expect things to be brand new in all of the apartments, but the maintenance team works very hard to maintain the grounds and the apartments. They do a great job taking care of the community. The office staff is amazing and go above and beyond to accommodate everyone and their requests. They are a very friendly bunch and are such lovely people. My family of 4 lived in a 3 bedroom on the top (3rd) floor. The space was what we needed, and was great for my husband and me, and my two teenaged children. The master bedroom in the 3 bedroom floor plan is huge, and the closet space is to die for. The other 2 bedrooms are smaller, but we made the space work. My daughter had the larger of the 2 rooms, and she had a queen sized bed, dresser, and chest of drawers. The set up worked well for her. My son had the smallest room and he had a full sized bed, chest of drawers, and a desk. He was very comfortable in the space. The apartment has 2 full bathrooms. The master has a shower stall AND a soaking tub. The living room is spacious, the kitchen is functional, and the balcony is huge. There is a gas fireplace and washer/dryer connections. The gym is unlike any you will find in an apartment community. The community also provides fitness classes-for FREE. The pool is lovely, but what we really enjoyed were the gas grills on the pool deck. They are open year-round and we used them almost daily when it was warmer out. The fire pit is a fantastic place to hang out on a nice evening, and the dog parks are both large and filled with lovely neighbors and their dogs.I miss the location almost most of all. Walking distance from Trader Joes and restaurants, and super close to Whole Foods, Harris Teeter, Walmart, and Crossroads Shopping Center. They are also located in a phenomenal school district. This is a true community. Everyone is so very nice. I moved into a house, but I miss my tree house very much. Hawthorne at the Parkway was supposed to be our home for just 1 year, but we ended up living there, and loving it, for 5. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a nice place, in an amazing location, in the Cary area.

Stayed for about 4 months and then left due to the military and my girlfriend and I loved it. Clean and professional property. Big shoutout to Michael who gave us the original tour and got us all squared away and also checked us out. Apartment was clean and was the renovated unit. Had some cockroaches at first but called the office and they got pest control out promptly and then they died down. AC went out on move in day and maintenance worked tirelessly to fix it. By nightfall they put a temporary one in and then finished the next day. Has nice amenities such as pool, workout area, dog park and Amazon Package Boxes. Overall we had a great experience here and would love to stay here again if we get the chance to!

We reached out to two different Hawthorne properties for more information and were not impressed with their customer service. However, Michael really turned it around and we really liked the property and what it had to offer. We had planned to apply, but the information we had read online about the application process did not match what Michael had shared with us in person. I am not commenting on the daily pricing but the administrative fees, valet trash, and security deposit. I called to speak with Michael to clarify a few things before we completed our application. The manager answered the phone and I told her I wanted to speak with Michael who was unavailable. She took my name and number then pressed me for more information about my call. I told her what I was calling about and she proceeded to be very condescending. She told me she read the communication and could answer the questions which surprised me since I had thought I was communicating directly with Michael. I was calling to clarify the money part of the application process. The manager said all monies would be due when we applied for the apartment and would be forfeit including the security deposit if we didnt move in. She then went on to state it was company policy to keep all the money. While I dont plan to renege on an agreement, life happens and I cant afford for an apartment complex to keep a $1300 security deposit. While the the property seemed nice, the application process doesnt seem to align with other apartment communities nearby.

I just signed and I’m super excited to move in! Even though I’m not in my new home yet, I can’t express enough how I appreciate the staff especially Michael!I’ve been searching for a new home for 2 months and it has been the most stressful experience but Michael has the best customer service and he genuinely cares. My partner and I fell in love with the loft style floor plan and it was PERFECT except for the price which made me turn away, but 2 weeks later the complex was doing a promo and Michael was so nice to follow up and inform us about this great promo directly as soon as he heard.I’m not sure if he had to do that but that type of customer service is unheard of especially at my old complex which made me stop everything I was doing and sign immediately. Based off of that experience I recommend Hawthorne at the Parkway.

I was emailing back and forth with Nicholas and he was very helpful with answering my questions before I could make it to the community to tour. When I finally did after work, Michael took me on the tour and although he was not the one I was emailing with, he knew about everything I was looking for. Both Nicholas and Michael were amazing. I have been at Hawthorne for three years now, and it is a lovely place to call home. We relocated from Upstate NY, and not only was the entire leasing staff friendly and inviting, they became our guides to the surrounding area and helped us find our way. The apartments are large and roomy with various floor plans and upgrades. Any maintenance issues have been promptly addressed, even on a Sunday night! Yes, we can sometimes hear the people walking upstairs, but it is not disruptive and certainly better than many other apartments we considered. The apartment complex is like a small neighborhood, with trees, a little creek and a walkway around the perimeter. It is a dog friendly community with treats in the office and two dog parks complete with toys, rain shelters and waste stations. We love to grill at the pool in the summer and see our neighbors come to relax. The thing that makes Hawthorne unique though, is the quality of management staff. I have never, in three years, had a concern that wasn’t addressed. Lauren, Michael and Michael are fantastic and make Hawthorne the warm and friendly place that it is- and have fun while doing it! I’m so thankful that we landed at Hawthorne, it made our transition a breeze!

We have lived here for 3 years, and transferred floor plans twice. The Loft is my favorite floor plan! The 1 bed room( and loft) has tons of windows which is hard to find in an apartment complex and each unit has special architectural details that make it feel like home. Not the cookie cutter boxes you are used to! The one bedroom( and loft) has the largest kitchen! The plant window in the kitchen is my favorite feature and is perfect for keeping herbs. The management is fantastic. Always friendly and helpful and they get to know you and your pets. Any time we have a question they genuinely take the time to make sure you understand the answer. The amenities are great. The only thing we are iffy about is the dog park. It is huge but the doggie bags are not always stocked or trash is not always emptied. The dog park could use a face lift- grass or mulch and a dog fountain would be amazing. But our dog still loves the space to run around. We plan to call Hawthorne at the Parkway home for as long as possible!

DO NOT FALL FOR THESE FAKE REVIEWS!! I have lived her for quite a few years and I gotta say when we moved it it was quite great! Not that expensive with rent, very friendly staff, basically everything you wanted in an apartment complex....until the new management came in and changed everything! Now rent is currently $1200 for a 900 square foot one bedroom apartment! And these buildings are prone to getting holes in them that are easy for squirrles and creatures as such to get into your vents and the management did absolutely nothing to fix it. If living in this complex is truly something you wanna do I recommend waiting until New Management comes in or Im gonna say right now, Im sorry

Thin walls. Most units are right next to the freeway, so you can hear the cars going by at all hours. If youre on anything but the third floor, be prepared to hear your neighbors footsteps loud and clear. I dont know what sort of cheap wood and insulation they use for the ceilings/floors, but it manages to amplify their every foot step to the point where youd swear theyre deliberately stomping. Unit came with a bunch of damage and non-functional appliance that we had to put in maintenance requests for. Nice amenities, but at this price point you should expect much better build quality.Management didnt care. Their solution was to pay more money and get on a waiting list for a more expensive unit that would *maybe* be less noisy. Despite being one of the more expensive units Ive lived in its also been by far the noisiest.edit: responds 2 years later to say their door is open... ok. Nice copy paste.

Sorry but there are MUCH better places to live for over $1300. Roaches were THE WORST - all kinds of roaches I didnt know existed before living here: German, American, big NASTY tree roaches too. Got to where we were seeing at least one roach a day, and all the apartment would ever do is come and spray upon request. Dont be fooled that theyre spraying the outside unless YOU ASK either, and you better tell them EXACTLY where to spray inside or they wont do it (especially if youre not home during a workday). The roach problems plus at least 6 times we had water damage from other unit malfunctions and our own - TERRIBLE CONDITION of equipment like water heaters and a/c units FOR OVER 1300 A MONTH. The office staff is nice, but the maintenance crew is lazy and sluggish and take NO RESPONSIBILITY for problems they cause or could prevent.

I have been a resident for almost 2 years. For the location, amenities, unit sizes and service, the pricing is definitely considered a value. Close to US 1, shopping and dining, around 5 mins to downtown Cary and just about 15 minutes to downtown Raleigh. The unit sizes are fair with semi-open floor plans between kitchen and dining room, decent size bedrooms, and the large decks being a great bonus! The only minor negative is the lack of kitchen counter space, but it’s manageable. The staff in the office are fabulous and do go above and beyond their leasing agent roles to maintain/add to the property and program many (well-received) community activities. As is usually expected in an apartment community, the noise levels from adjoining units can definitely be something to get used to, but it has rarely been anything excessive. As other reviewers have mentioned, the community is right off the Cary Parkway, which can be a little loud when trying to sleep, but its nothing a White Noise Machine cant fix (Amazon - $50, youll thank me later :) ).The property has a playground, outdoor lounge areas with grills, fire pit, tennis courts, a pool, community garden, club house (with a large commercial coffee maker), gym with a studio and 2 dog parks - a very pet-friendly community.Overall, a great place to live if youre looking to rent for short or long term, and community amenities and easy highway access is important to you.

Absolutely terrible place to live!for the first month we were there our only toilet wouldnt flush. and maintenance absolutely refused to come out on weekends to fix it.we also had a pipe leak in december which led to a hole in the laundry room wall. they promised to come in on monday to fix it (because this happened on a weekend and good luck getting them to come out.) needless to say they never showed up.zero parking unless you were lucky enough to get to a spot early.not to mention moldy. We opened our windows one day only to find them completely black and covered in a furry gunk we couldnt get rid of. the offices response was condescending emails. and to send a maintenance man (again it was a weekend) 3 days later. The last complaint I have is their lovely loft apartment. It is absolutely gorgeous! We expressed interest and were promised that current residents get first dibs. for the first few months we checked in and made sure we were still on the list to move in to one. Instead the new neighbors that moved into the loft right above us happened to be friends we knew for a fact didnt live there. instead they had just moved back from Charleston. the promised time for move in to the loft came and went, and the liars in the office never once contacted us about it.at the very end of it all the office contacted us asking if we could move out early. I let them know we would be out a little over a month early. they said they would get back to me if that was ok, and in typical Hawthorne fashion never did. Not only did they not get back to me, but they scheduled someone to move in in the middle of our last month of paid rent and never let us know.I wouldnt recommend this overpriced awful place to my worst enemy one star is too much to give them.

Ive been a resident of Hawthorne at the Parkway for nearly two years now, and after having lived in multiple apartment/townhome complexes around the Raleigh/Cary area, Hawthorne at the Parkway has by far been the best experience. The management staff is excellent. There have been a decent amount of staff changes since Ive moved in, but everyone that has been hired has always been nice, professional, and ready to help. I once had patio furniture delivered which was supposed to be delivered at my front door (3rd floor apartment), however the company delivered it to the leasing office -- damaged! Lauren and co were so great during this whole ordeal, letting me keep this giant obstruction of a box in the office until the company could send someone to pick up the damaged box. These apartments are incredibly pet friendly. I dont own a dog, but there are two different small parks for dogs to play in -- one with an agility course and one without. The management staff even keeps some dog treats for pups in the office! Tons of people have dogs here, so if you need a place for your pup to make friends, youve found it.Most of the residents Ive met are families, retirees, or young professionals, so the noise level in the complex is relatively low -- which is surprising considering its right off of Cary Parkway and very close to Highway 1. Since the apartments are a bit older, you can hear your upstairs/downstairs neighbors sometimes when there isnt a lot of ambient noise in your apartment, but its nothing close to nuisance level -- and I honestly I think we all agree to live with some noise if we choose to live in an apartment with shared walls/floors.Any maintenance issues Ive had have been resolved quickly and by competent and friendly maintenance staff. The refurbished apartments have great laminate/vinyl wood floors, and the overall feel of the apartments is rather cozy. I live in a 2 bedroom (Cambridge), and I love the layout--the bedrooms are on opposite sides of the apartment and are joined by an open floorplan including a spacious living room, dining area, and kitchen. My only complaint would be the lack of counterspace in the kitchen; as someone who cooks a lot, it can be a bit annoying. I was surprised by the size of the decks (huge!) and I enjoy being able to just sit outside on a nice day.For the money and peace of mind, I think Hawthorne at the Parkway is by far your best bet for the Raleigh/Cary area. Hassle-free living in a safe area with easy access to Highway 1 and I-40 made this a win for me.
