The bartender was awesome! The place was steady, but she wasn’t overwhelmed at all unlike other places I visited that night. She was calm, pleasant, and made a great cocktail. I appreciated that she asked my level of sweetness when making my drink. She even offered to send my boyfriend a sticker in the mail when they came in. It made his night.
The staff was friendly and accommodating. No issues there. The food was for the most part decent. The Salmon Patty was PURE SALT. I didn’t finish abs didn’t complain. I order wings to go abs tipped generously. Got home, looking forward to the lime BBQ WINGS and the smelled and taste like fish! Called the establishment 8 times and no answer. Left a message so I hope they rectify this. A wasted meal and a wasted second meal. Culinary experience is bad. Staff was great.
The amber ale they brew is sort of a cross between an amber ale and brown ale. And it is soooo good. Cannot wait for them to start canning their beers. Pub food is quite good too (recommend the PB&J Burger). And the staff are very friendly and attentive. I will be back again.
I’ve been several times and it never fails to disappoint! If you’re lucky enough to get Jenna as a server you’re guaranteed to have as great of an experience as I have! The dining room is very dark and slightly hidden though, I do wish it was a little more bright and open but other than that it’s great!
Visited on a work trip. This place is GREAT! Food is awesome and beer selection is good. Cute little vibe and very true to the city vibe!
We assume this would have been great but we showed up 1 hour before closing time and they were all locked up. Very disappointed.
Made a reservation here for their Thanksgiving buffet from out of town based on reviews, and so glad we did. We had an amazing time. The location was lovely and spacious. The buffet was very nice and had a good selection of food and was served hot. All of the food tasted good as well. The carver chefs were very polite and friendly. A decent selection of beers but not enough choices to include a stout beer. Flight offering was a good way to go. The back of the location had a dessert spread located near a cozy fireplace and adjacent to a game room with billiards and pinball and darts. Super chill environment with a wonderful staff. Highly recommended! Thanks you for a lovely Thanksgiving dinner!
Food was delicious! Service was so so slow. We waited 40 minutes just to get a beer. And then had to wait again for our appetizer which came out wrong. Would highly recommend if the service was better, because the food was great!
Endless mimosas will always get 5 stars from me.
Great grub and brew. Very friendly staff. Brew master gave us some facinating history of the building and great conversation. We cant wait to come back to Buffalo to check the other associated restaurants....
This place is great. The bar area is rich with history. The beers are good. Their IPA will satisfy and HOP HEAD looking for that style. The food menu is not huge, but that’s a great thing. The perfected what they have. I loved the French Onion Soup. It’s a great place to visit.
I have been here a few times for lunch or happy hour, and generally the service and food is pretty good. I have had several issues with servers/bartenders forgetting part of my order, but Im not one who is afraid to ask for something, and they have never given me issue on this. Just a forewarning for others who may be more quiet or shy. I really enjoy the atmosphere, and its right down the road from my office so it is very convenient, and I will definitely be back!
No Sabres game is complete without a meal at the Pearl. The building is circa 1840. It still has the exquisite single drive belt driven fans throughout the main floor dining area. A live band is usually playing in some corner. There is a wide variety of food, and its all really good. Of course the beer selection is impressive....
Our waiter was Adam and he was fantastic. He gave us all kinds of information about local areas to visit. We ordered the garlic Parmesan wings and they were delicious....but you have to order them Adams way. They baked the Parmesan after frying, making them very tasty and crispy. The bar has a quant old but refreshed feel to it.Will go back
Beers were pretty bad..Building was neat but left after 1 beer and a couple samples. They were watching the Bachelor on the TV
Cool deco architecture but lobby and common areas and restaurant are a bit tired and need a good cleaning.Rooms are nice and cool modern furnishings. Wish the lighting was brighter, rough to put makeup on or do work at the desk
Had a nice quiet lunch with my daughter. Food was delicious our waitress was friendly and looked very happy in her job. Prices were reasonable much lower than you think an Angus burger with fries and all the trimmings cost 11.50 that and the atmosphere you cant beat it.
I first came here for my graduation dinner and enjoyed the atmosphere and the waiters. I now come for my paint nites and quiz night. My friends and I enjoy this place. Drinks are always done right. The people are friendly and the prices are reasonable for a downtown setting. It can get crowded if you come right after work (5pm) but there is a lot of space to sit as long as you dont want to hang out at the bar.
Great food and fun atmosphere. Flat bread pizzas are awesome and so is their drink selection :)
Staying at Beautiful Lafayette.. unfortunately this place is Attachedwas a beautiful sunny warm Afternoon, yesterday 🙏wanted to try Lackawanna Lager and lunch.I I’m Sat at bar ignored by 3 dim wit servers chatting away other end of bar
Very over priced for small portions of food that is not even that good. Went there in a group. Was told checks could not be split up. What sort of restaurant cannot split a bill? Especially when you know a large party is coming in?Do not get the stuffed peppers. 9 dollars for two of the smallest peppers literally in a disgusting bath of marina sauce. More sauce than pepper.Only positive was how pretty the place was.
Food was good, and well prepared. Excellent service, and good local beer selection. Love the old Lafayette Taproom vibe...
The only beers youll find here are made in house, at a sister brewpub, or Labatt Blue/Blue Light. Wine list looks decent and the liquor selection is solid. The range of styles for staple beers is pretty good, helping make it easier for groups to find something each person enjoys. Weekly food specials are common and tend to be very good overall.
I would love to share how the food and service was, but unfortunately we were sat at a table and then forgotten about for a full 20 minutes so.... We left. No, it wasnt busy that day either (and I have a restaurant and serving background.)
Just awful! Good service but the food was horrendous. Burgers were dry with stale buns. The entire table hated their meals.
A menu making a mockery of the Pandemic is shameful. Enough said.
Ordered from off skip the dishes. I paid extra for fries with my sandwich and didnt receive any. Also ordered the mozzarella wedges, they were supposed to come with marinara sauce and that was missing too. Food wasnt cheap and half of it was missing, wont be reordering or recommending.
Good beer and beautiful location inside. Sat by the fireplace, so relaxing...wish we lived closer, this would be our hang out place!!
Good enough craft beer for 3.50 at happy hour in definitely the coolest restoration Ive ever seen. So sorry I didnt see it until we were almost leaving but near the bus station and a much nicer spot to wait. Honestly. Should be busiest place in town. wood! Dead animal heads and oldy timey phone booths
Food was average. Not a big fan of the beer. Ambience and service were excellent.
Good food, good beer, would definitely recommend a visit.
I come here for lunch a few times a year. Brunch is good and so is the bison burger at lunchtime. This restaurant has spiced up the once decrepit Hotel Lafayette. 1901 charm has came back.
Lively atmosphere, friendly staff, great service and a great downtown location near other activities.
Terrible. Steak overcooked. Small. No sides. Not even listed. They didnt even make my Manhattan right. Never go back.
Excellent service! Just left the Warnke benefit and I was pleased with the appearance and the food!
The staff was great, just wasn’t a huge fan of any of the beers. But as far as the venue goes, this is a great place.
It was a fun time watching the Syracuse FB game n the food was delicious!! Also kid friendly!!!
What a great venue.Check this place out .Very comfortable .great service
Pretty average. Not too bad, nothing spectacular.
Good beers and food. I like the music too
I went here last night for my sisters graduation dinner party and I was very disappointed. The beer was over-priced and the food downright sucked. I ordered the spicy Asian wings extra crispy and they tasted like a**. They werent crispy, in fact they were soggy. My sister and girlfriend got the roasted brisket sandwich. They informed me that the meat was dry and it was just doused with red stag bbq sauce which in return made it a very soggy hard sandwich to consume and enjoy. Needless to say this was our first and last time at the Pan American Grill.
Cool atmosphere for a brewery, kinda looks like a church!
I really loved this place. The atmosphere seemed like the place was original to the building, massive venue with lots of hidden treasures. Their beer was quite good. Had a baltic porter that was impressive and a lighter beer with a hint of sour called Gose Querva. That was quite good. Chicken wings and pot roast poutine were also delicious. Would definitely stop again next time Im in Buffalo.
Fun bar and venue. Great hotel too.
Been here twice. The first time was around when they opened and I got food poisoning. The second was recently with a group of co-workers and both the service and food were very bad. Despite our office being next door we havent been back since and dont plan on it.
Great beer selection, food and service
Pulled Chicken Sandwich is always fantastic, as are the beers brewed in house. The Porter and Terminator are always good choices!
Good food, good service, and amazing atmosphere.
Beers were good, cool space, very limited vegetarian options
This is a tough one since the rest of the hotel and event planning at the Lafayette is incredible. The staff is incredibly undertrained and underwhelmed when it comes to service. If youre in the business of selling alcohol, and we have to hunt you down to get more alcohol: huge problem.Food took and incredibly long time to come out, and when it did, it had been sitting out and/under a heat lamp. Half of it was cold, the other half rubbery. Our waitress smelled like cigarettes, and as someone thats worked in food industry for years, she was probably out back smoking and not giving much thought to whether her 1 TABLE wanted more booze. This is why I gave 2 stars and not 1: I think this is a severe management problem. My brother is getting married here. Everything else at the Lafayette IS WONDERFUL. But this restaurant is a blight on the Lafayette. Get it together. Yesterday. This place should be a gem, it could be turned around so easily by caring more for the staff, encouraging better behavior, encouraging CARING in general, and fixing that menu. How do you screw up pizza? This is Buffalo, all we know how to do right is eat pizza and wings and drink delicious beer.So just know that we want to love it, and want to support it, but we never ever would have stayed if one of our party members is physically unable to travel long distances, hence why eating at the hotel made the most sense. Also, this is the 2nd time weve come here, and 2nd time weve been burned. Hard.
Was good, they need to take down the Christmas decorations, saint Patricks day is almost here.
Clean, affordable and great beer brewed on the premises, the Pan-American Grill & Brewery is a great place to grab a bite and brew before the game (Sabres or Bisons)! Historic hotel, lots of hardwood with a classic feel.
Food is great kind of on the expensive side great service brewery is good love there happy hour
Food was good, atmosphere was great, and service was excellent!
Beautiful old hotel with historic fixtures.
Great chicken and turkey sandwiches here, also have a great drink menu.
Great for Brunch
Fantastic Easter with my daughter and husband.
I called looking for a place for my daughters soccer team...about 30 of us all together...they were very accommodating and very quick with their response...we had a back room which was great for our group...service and food were excellent...prices were very reasonable...everyone enjoyed themselves
Wonderful atmosphere, great food, pleasant staff and beautiful decor. Great value
Beers are great, servers are excellent, but the food is really, REALLY lacking. Its...meh
Nice atmosphere, good beer
Not a really good experience .The waitress is barely there whereas the place is empty. When I was done with my pizza she brought the bill ... I never ask for it ... maybe I want to eat more ??And I had to ask the desert menu to the hostess as my waitress was never around .But nobody ask me if I was ready to order desert...as a result of that, you don’t get more money from because you staff is not doing the job well ! I could have spent extra dollars in deserts. And no tips as well
Kielbasa with pierogis was awesome, but should be renamed forever flatulence then pee out your butt Thanks!
Great beers and fireplace to enjoy some drinks.
Very cool place, great cocktails and friendly staff
Clean up the sidewalk on Ellicott where your dumpsters are leaking dumpster juice.**Edit. This was written when owned by Pan American.
