Went to chalk fest there seemed to be more than one business ...or something I could not find any food other than a concession stand with so so high dollar turkey wraps at 13 bucks or so they cost more than fair food which is always marked way up I was confused about were I could sit and eat I knew the ferris wheel was not gonna be open yet but still it was kinda dead half the art was not done ..mostly due to the high heat..but the bartenders seemed to try and ignore me as if I had no money long wait for my food i will give it another shot when the rides are up and running and it cooler nicer day ...
The food was very good here, but the atmosphere wasnt very nice. The tables and chairs were sticky and the silverware was dirty. The servers also had somewhat of an attitude. There were a good variety of foods with some vegetarian options which was nice. I would suggest getting less food because the proportions were huge. (only appetizers or no appetizers)
ARE YOU KIDDING ME RIGHT NOW RIVERWORKSβ½The Buffalo Riverworks just pulled the BIGGEST MONEY SCAM on soooooooo many people. My husband and I just paid $50 each for 2 soft tortillas filled with unseasoned ground beef & 2 Sauza margaritas. Our VIP experience that we paid for was supposed to come with a tee shirt but they had ran out by the time we arrived. The place was filthy with tables coated in uneaten tacos. The band was a loud dj. Our tacos were pathetic. No lettuce, no cheese, no kind of salsa. Just cold flour tortillas filled with cold beef. Luckily the Lloyd taco truck was near-by so we were able to get decent tacos (We DID NOT touch the nasty ones) even though we still felt bent over by the Riverworks. So with all of this being said, we will not be returning to the Riverworks. In fact we will probably boo them as we kayak by. THIS WAS the most UNORGANIZED & UNPROFESSIONAL event that I have ever been to. THIS WAS SUCH A SCAM ON THE PEOPLE OF BUFFALO.
I didnt go to this as a restaurant but as a show venue. The venue was nice and spacious with good airflow which was nice. But the signage for what line to wait in for food and drink was hard to see while actually in line. The soft pretzel I got was rock hard and I could barely chew it. Plus 2 Gatorade costs $10 which is pretty absurd and they wont even let you keep the lid so you can stash it in a bag while you mosh at the show. Not to mention when I first entered the security guard was very aggressive and the set up for getting out after the show is damn near impossible due to weird parking spaces (that had to back out into the road people were trying to exit on) and no direction of traffic after like there was before. Over all it was one of the best shows Ive been to and one of my now least favorite venues.
The pizza was very good, so were the chicken fingers and fries. The tater tot poutine, which is usually good, just didnt taste right this time.
Allowing unmasked, unvaccinated individuals to attend large gatherings when the covid19 virus transforms into stronger variants, such as delta and epsilon, by finding an unvaccinated host is foolish. Does not have people sanitizing down tables when there are large crowds. A super spreader of a place. I truly believe the Buffalo area will see an increase in covid cases now. Events should absolutely be for those who can show proof of immunization or proof of a negative test within 72 hours. I strongly feel events at Riverworks are putting the almighty dollar before the well being of those who cannot be vaccinated, such as children, and the immunocompromised. Even President Biden stated in his most recent address large gatherings are strongly advised to show proof of immunization or a negative test.
Good food, and while Im not a real beer drinker there seemed to be a good selection. Pot roast melt was excellent meat very tender and tasty. Mom enjoyed the fish fry. Service was a touch slow but they were busy. Ate indoors because the wait for an outside table was about an hour, but atmosphere was fun inside
I booked a 2 hour time slot at Ales and Axes for a bachelorette party. We had so much fun! The facility is clean and spacious. The ranges are really nice. Even though the ranges are caged off (for safety of course!), you do not feel separated from the people throwing the axes while people from your group are waiting their turn in the seating area. Our instructor was so nice and patient with us while we were learning how to throw the axes. This activity was a hit and we cant wait to go back!
The server was great, food was shockingly edible, but management prioritizes money over health and safety so it will never be more than one star from me. When restaurants began to reopen last year, a friend in their kitchen quit because management didnt want to follow covid safety protocols. They put up a sign that pretty much told you they didnt want to pay staff a living wage and instead tried to blame government handouts. Pearl Street management needs to take a step back and remember how to act like humans again.
The staff that greeted our party of 6 should be better trained. Within an hour our part grew to 12. Our bill was $371.00. The two blondes had attitudes. I understand this is a ruff time to find good help but someone has to better train the help to be more friendly and welcoming. Buffalo RiverWorks has not been Valley Ambassador approved. Also the health department requires all employees to wash their hands after using theRestroom. One in out party witnessed one of the employees did not wash her hands before leaving the restroom. She had very long fingernails with glitter.
The food was good and atmosphere was nice. Unfortunately they are in the same boat as a lot of places and they do not have enough staff so there is a long wait to get a table. Thankfully we were able to eat at the bar.
Youll have a great time this place is awesome I wish there was more places like this in Buffalo for adults our age and any age keep going get better and better riverworks is a a+ in my mind try it you wont be disappointed
It was a very nice night, gorgeous weather and our food was very tasty. We had to sit at the table by the bar because the wait for a table was 30min but we had the best bartender Tony. He was so sweet and and suggested the best drink. Thank Tony π
I had another great experience here. Family friendly venue with many activities available. The table service can get a little slower during peak hours but that didnβt bother us since there was live music. I recommend checking out their events calendar and making a reservation online to avoid waiting in line to be seated.
My family was visiting from out of town so I took them downtown Buffalo to the RiverWorks Restaurant with that awesome view!1. Two hour wait to sit down, no problem the view and the games around the place made it a little bit bearable. Plus it is understandable, the lack of staff is a problem.2. 1 hour wait for the food, burgers, chili, tacos, fries, salads. Ok no big deal for the wait, after allIt was fresh and delicious............NO IT WASNT!!! What an embarrassing moment, the food tasted old, the meat was hard, the bread was so dried. What a dissatisfying experience, for the sake of Buffalo and the whole industry, I hope this was a one off and someone takes charge in that place. They have everything going for making the place to go and have fun. But NOT like last night.8-28-21
What a great place to eat and have a brew or two. Service was excellent, food (especially the giant salads) were superb. Cant wait to come back.
Amazing setting to hang out for any occasion. Great venue for shows, and a great hockey rink. Ton of parking and great food and beer as well. Having been here multiple times, I would word their food as hit and miss. Sometimes its top notch, exactly what I want when I go out. However I have had more than one experience where it seems like they had a fill in back in the kitchen. Cool/cold good, not as well put together as other times, and overall, just off. Not bad but, certainly not up to par with what one would expect when going out. I would say that in 20 visits, Ive had 3-4 that were less than normal. A normal rating Id give 5 of 5 starts and the off days, Id say 2.5 or maybe 3 of 5?Great vibe though and overall, great experiences!
Fun event space for concerts and parties, very unique setting
Love the food, great atmosphere, always attend the hockey games
Took a long time to get food, and ticket to pay. Food was good tho. Band playing was way to loud and couldnt have a conversation without screaming. Tables and chairs were sticky because doors were open.
Went to go watch the football game at 8:30pm and all the doors were locked. There were no private events. Pretty upsetting when this place should be a premier sports restaurant for Buffalo. Went here on a separate occassion and the place was dead on a thursday night for football. There are much better options in Buffalo.
It was so great, diverse, lots to see, hear and feel. They have done a fabulous job @ fireworks.
The venue itself is very cool and fun, but the food and beer is sub par and not very tasty. I went with a party of 6 and none of us enjoyed our entrees. The waiter was fantastic and even comped one of our meals. Go here for the views of the river or an event but not for the food.
High Hopes for High Ropes CourseThis was the first time my family and I completed a high ropes course. Three out of the four of us completed both levels. (I didnt quite make it to the second level.) Thankfully Tyler and my family talked me through the first level of the course. Such a sense of accomplishment! For those that make it through the second level, there is a very satisfying zip line for maximum fun!
Went to the restaurant to have family dinner. There were many seats available. The waiters told us there will be a 3 hr wait. Are you kidding me?! Was super excited to be there. First experience was horrible. I will never go back to the restaurant
Waiter forgot pop 2xs in a row. Food took mad long. People came in after us and got food before ours. No ketchup or hot sauce at our table. Waiter very nice, staff nice but need to smile more. Everyone looked blah.
So beautiful I would like to visit again. And I would like to perform again at riverworks this was fun today.
Long wait over two hours for not having a reservation. From out town Virginia Beach, VA. Couldnt enjoy the meal for waiting so long to be served. Other were being served without waiting as my party waited. Some adjustment should be taken for walk-ins. Buffalo RiverWorks is very nice in appearance but I felt very uncomfortable with how the head host handle the whole process of making us feel welcome.
Excellent day at RiverWorks today. Staff was friendly and helpful. Shout out to Adam. Thank you!
We did the ropes course. One of my girls lost it and REFUSED to come down the zipline at the end. Sigh. Tyler was so sweet and kind to her. Grateful.
Huge space. The food was good for a large party. The waterviews are amazing. Drinks outside are just great!
Nope! Went as a group of 5 & a half (including a toddler) with reservations at 6pm on a Sunday. The restaurant appeared to be at about 50% table capacity, so it was not extremely busy. Server seemed inadequately trained and initially not very engaged or interested in ensuring our needs were met. Took almost 40 minutes for 1 appetizer. Our server was nowhere to be seen in the almost EIGHTY minutes it took for our food to arrive, no updates, no refills, nothing! To add insult to injury, the orders arrived incomplete.Quality and portion size of the food was not impressive in the least. As a gesture of good faith, assumably based on our visible agitation, the server advised that the manager offered to comp our drink orders. While appreciated, a table visit and verbal apology from management wouldve seemed more appropriate and sincere. The only thing this place worked was our nerves, will NOT be returning.
Accepts government handouts yet claims that nobody wants to work because of unemployment. Makes me wonder what they might skimp on foodwise to save a few extra pennies since they clearly canβt pay a living wage to their workers
We went on a boat cruise and afterwards went to riverworks for a bite to eat. We sat outside it was great to look out onto the water. Had an appetizer and a pizza, it was really good! We live in Niagara County but this was a nice change. There is ziplining, games, you can just grab a chair and look out over the water. Recommend you try this place at least once over the summer.
Really beautiful setting and lots of options from boat rental to rock climbing and ropes course. The restaurant & the food is not great but still a good place to have a little family fun.
Its a beautiful location for pretty much any and everything. Great family outting spot.
Fantastic food and ambiance by the water. About time they did something with the riverfront!
Nice place on a Summer day. No social distancing. Im still nervous about covid. So I will take a chance once in awhile. You can be outside most of the time and not in confined spaces with people.
Came here for the Easter Brunch buffet. They need to be more organized! There were reservations as early as 10 am but they did not start letting people in until 10:45 am, so a lot of people were just standing there waiting to get let in, even though its a buffet where the people just serve themselves. The venue is huge and the food is good. The bathrooms are clean. Their dessert station could use some improvement.
Was here for MiA, great time, tons of music. Excellent
Well, Ive heard a lot about their food being delicious with a positive, good spirited atmosphere, and after going tonight, definitely proved to be true. My only issue is it wasnt really packed tonight, and I had ordered a Caesar salad, and a steak. Got my salad first and was just then waiting on the steak. After about a half hour of waiting, my server came to me and said they have to reheat my steak, (meaning no one picked it up to serve it to me, and its just been sitting back there.) So we decided to wait about a good half hour to 45 minutes until I was finally brought my steak. (At this point I had told them I just want it to go.)
Great place, a lot of fun. Wish they had darts and/or a pool table, ping pong would be sweet too. They have plenty of room for it
Its probably the worst venue in the state. I dont think Ive ever been to a place with worse sound! Its so awful, its practically unbearable. It would probably work out great as a roller rink, its set up exactly like one. But it should not be a music venue. They lie and give you free water but tell the person next to you they arent offering free water (thought that was required if you sell alcohol?). Charged this guy $10 for a bottle. Dont know why they let me have a free cup but not him? This guy was clearly drunk and needed it. Its pretty cruel when it cost you absolutely nothing and you are doing it for other people. They straight up take advantage of drunk people and have no shame. Also, they definitely dont pay their staff enough. If at all.. There were bartenders complaining to each other about not getting paid for weeks. I dont care who they have playing, ill absolutely not come back here.
My experience at Buffalo Riverworks is mainly for events: vendor markets, the Soup Festival, the start/stop for 5ks, etc. as such, it is an excellent venue. The various spaces provide different atmospheres that have a specific feel: the main open area with the stage, the bar/dining overlooking the water, the balconies with seating, the upstairs which also has a bar/overlooks the water and the area indoors, and the ice rinks. In addition, the outdoors is an eclectic display of art utilizing the concrete of the silos and such as well as metal sculptures and things. There is much more to mention, but its best to check out this fun, extraordinary, very Buffalo space for yourself π
I would love yo tell you about the food but the bar tender walked by us and did not even acknowledge us. I walked by and didnβt even look at us so we left after 10 minutes of being ignored.
This place is huge and it was full! We waited about 20 minutes for a table but it was worth it. We had a pizza - very good. We sat inside overlooking the canal - it was fun seeing the boats go by.
Our 2nd time on boat! Very nice ride. Food was great. Good time!
Ate affordable pizza out on the deck, great service and atmosphere for family !
A must stop while boating on the water. Very easy for my captain to pull in & the service is wonderful. Although with the Coronavirus going on and the menu limited I still found some good food choices. Besides food, there are a lot of entertainment & my out of town guests loved walking up in the air on the catwalks & riding screaming as they came down the silo ziplines. 100% recommend for the family or just out with friends.
A nice place with good food served by a courteous friendly staff
.DO NOT PATRONIZE BUFFALO RIVER WORKS RESTAURANT, I have lived here my entire life and never had service this bad anywhere in wny, when I give a tip for service I base it on the total experience, so with that being said I started my deduction when the hostess had hella attitude because she was asked to seat us when our table was ready THEN the table was not even cleaned off THEN the waiter didnt even acknowledge our complaint about the hostess or dirty still wet table, he didnt ask how we were doing he just immediately said what would you like to order, we should have left then But we ordered, the food was good he never came back until it was time for the check, so I wrote on the tip line please hire less rude hostesses....the waiter chased me down to say thats messed up you didnt give a tip ....1st of all sport you can blame your hostesses nasty attitude and your poor customer service.
Great facility and the people that rent the kayaks are wonderful. Unfortunately, I believe they searched the nation for the lousiest bartenders in the country. Be be prepared to wait 20 minutes for a can of beer at the bar.
It has been awhile since we have been @ Riverworks Ward, but todays service was the worst we ever had. The server, we had only came by once and didnt ask the rest of my party if they wanted something else to drink. One of the hottest days and the worst part was that the place was empty on a Thursday afternoon. It took about 2 hours to get food to our table and the worst part was that there was hair in one of our guests chicken sandwich. We are really disappointed with the service and do not plan on going back. Worst experience weve ever head and its a shame because its a great venue.
Doesnt care about their staff or customers. they also donβt care that weβre in the middle of a pandemic...do you really want to give a business money that doesnβt care about a public health crisis?
It was nice the people were polite n nice also. The food was really good..
Visited twice. Would definitely visit again! Food, drinks, atmosphere and service was great. Tried Ales and Axes with another couple one evening and had a blast.
If you want to go for activities only, then this is the place for you. We came here for a drink and food and had to pay $5 to park in the far lot while the regular lot was half empty...? Entire bar/restaurant aspect is a joke. Everything was dirty and wait staff seemed bothered they had customers. Cant really blame them, no AC in the place on a 90 degree day. Seems like poor management looking for that extra buck at the expense of their employees.
Food is delicious! Service was excellent!
What a great place. Clean. Lots of parking. Lots to do. Nice job Buffalo with cleaning up that side of the river.
Went there for company party food was great service was great would definitely return
One of the very few places Ive been able to attend since the pandemic began. Open, outdoors and well sanitized, the food, service and atmosphere was on point. Granted, I ate inside where the roller derby area typically is, but it may as well be a warehouse with all the space and it made me feel more comfortable.
Waited over an hour for our food. People that were seated after us had their food and left before we received anything. When are food finally got to the table it was cold.
Very nice πplace to hang out with friends and family listen to good music πΆ and bond.
Pizzas were good. Wings were average. Very loud.
Although my last time there was for drinks and appetizers only the service was good and so was the food. Have been there for other events too and the facility always does a good job with the crowds. Have not done all the activities there yet but look forward to trying. Will be going back as soon as I can.
Normally, my experience is awesome. It has been awhile since I have been @ Riverworks, but today service stunk. The server, we had only came by twice and didnt ask the rest of my party if they wanted something else to drink. The server main focus seemed to be flirting with the bartender along with other male staff members. Her most important concerned was getting her alcohol order out to her other customers.Really disappointed and I well be writing an email to the management.
Met with childhood friends. Food was excellent service could have been one step better but wad good.
Itβs a amazing please to have fun with family and friends.
Great food and service the place is huge! Also a massive live music venue! Check them out
Nice venue. Perfect for post-lockdown re-entry to society. Always clean.
