I was so loyal to Southie Nail Bar for close to a year. I was actually so loyal that I recommended the place to more than one dozen friends... I swore by it! I also want to start by saying, girls who work there will literally do any design and it will look great in the moment. However, The past few experiences Ive had there have been quite negative. The tipping point for me: I sat in the chair for 2 hours, spent an arm and a leg on beautiful powder tip nails only for nearly all of them to fall off or crack within 5 days. Literally doing mundane tasks (opening drawers, shifting my car out of park, reaching in my bag) caused my nails to either fully pop off or crack down the middle. When I called back to see if I could come get them fixed/ maybe even get a full new set because 6 of 10 were damaged in less than one week, they agreed but would not allow me to do so unless I told them the name of the girl who did my nails. They would not even schedule a time to see me unless I tattle tailed on the employee. I felt totally uncomfortable selling out a girl who worked there, as it was not her fault. It could have easily been the product provided for her, etc. In my opinion, this puts the customer in a totally awkward moral conflict. Times prior to that, the nails had also cracked or fallen off way before they should have/ I was basically paying for nails that were only guaranteed to last 5-6 days. Bummer because I felt like I had finally found my spot.

This nail bar was absolutely filthy. Nothing about my application was up to standards.Technicians shared brushes and tools, they used their drill bits on one client and put them right back into an Altoids box to be used on the next client. I didnt see any clean or unused files - files cannot be used on more than one client, they must be discarded after each use. The UV lights were filthy and covered with dust and product smears both inside and out.The tech i had was careless with my application, i wont say she didnt have skill but she was definitely not giving me her full attention. She was constantly looking over at the nail tech beside her, distracted by conversation and filing/applying product to my nails without even looking at them. This happened about a dozen times in the 50 minutes i spent there.My nails look nice at first glance, but up close they look very sloppy and poorly done. I walked out of there with dried product all over my fingers.Im honestly really disappointed, i booked my tech through Instagram and was impressed with her designs, but the work was lacking in so many ways.I wont say anything about the service because no one was rude to me and i truly think there is talent there but the quality and cleanliness NEED to improve.

10/10 recommend! the place is very clean and great amazing service! me and my two friends go there everytime we need our nails done or our toes! the massage chairs are so nice and they feel amazing! the manager is so nice and all of the nail techs are so nice as well! i love this place so much please come here! ❤️

I went to Southie Nail Bar super excited to try dip for the first time. My technician rushed through my mani/pedi so quickly to try to get to the next guest, despite me mentioning to her that I had a very special occasion coming up and wanted to make sure they looked perfect for it. My dip nails (that are supposed to last at least 2-3 weeks) chipped and cracked within the first 2 days - super disappointed by this considering I paid a ton for this service. My pedicure, which typically lasts 3-4 weeks, also chipped/peeled off within the first 4 days. I won’t be coming back.

Horrible experience! The manicure/pedicure (color change on toes) took a mere 15 minutes to do, thats how rushed it was. It was a gel manicure. The man who did it was dismissive and rude. He hardly filed my nails, thus some of my nails were not smooth around the edges. I had to ask him to refile once the polish was on. He never cleaned the remnants of the polish around my nails. I had to have another manicurist take it off. Now a piece of the gel chipped already, and I just had it done yesterday! I would never go back there

Terrible place, Went there 3 weeks ago & had danny as my nail tech. The nails came out beautiful however by day 3 it already looked like I had needed a fill due to him filing at the bottom, the filing at the bottom also cause the nail to break into pieces. Decided to give them one more chance & I seen jenny. Again nails were beautiful however they must use cheap products because 4 nails popped off within a week. I have never had issues with nails breaking any other salon. Don’t recommend.

Do not recommend for a pedicure. Very rushed - it took all of 14 minutes. The tech barely scrubbed the bottom of my feet for exfoliation, salt scrub was rubbed on & immediately washed off, minimal hot stone massage, and the hot towel is only used to remove lotion from your nails. The ends of my nails are ragged & rough, and my heels look the same dry & cracked as I walked in with. The tech didn’t wait for the polish to dry at all in between all coats, resulting in me having to dry for 35mins. Not worth $50 + tip. Go elsewhere.

By far the worst nail salon I’ve been to EVER! While I waited to be seen, the hostess and other nail techs were giving stares and kept me waiting. No clear instructions other than “just sit here.” They are very passive aggressive and unfriendly. Other patrons who entered after me, were given the same instructions to sit and wait unable to honor their original appointment time. They didn’t bother apologizing or even offering a new appointment. Terrible terrible customer service. Would not recommend!!!!

Had regular pedicure and gel manicure done. The place is nice and clean. I saw Gina. Was pleased with her work.

I normally go to Gaelic but havent been happy with their nail polish quality. It often chips or completely comes off a few weeks after a pedicure. The nail polish from here is still going strong. I do think Gaelic is slightly more thorough with nail/cuticle care (really getting everything shaped/filed down, getting out dead skin) but Im willing to give that up for nail polish that seemingly lasts forever.

Rude and disrespectful. My “massage” was done with cuticle oil and my pedicure did not include a cuticle trim so I will need a pedicure again.

This place is VERY CLEAN AND PROFESSIONAL, They take you temp upon arrival due to Covid. I got Cat Eyes I had never heard of this technique which is done with a magnet! I ❤ my nails and I ❤ this place!!!

Before anything being said the nails bar is nice and clean. I walk in for mani pedi and I believed the nails technician at that time was Luna. It only been several days but I noticed that it’s staring to chipped which I never expects it to happen so soon. I noticed that the salon was busy but not to be rushing like that. During my mani pedi she left and let another coworker take over so she go do another client which I might think it’s by appointment. I happened to notice that When the coworker switch over she forgot to wash her hands before she do my mani pedi and so does the previous technician onto the other client. It’s still pandemic and she should have wash her hands between clients. Overall I just feel that she should be more clean further on.

Had a great pedicure here, the staff is so kind and wonderful. I will be back!

Jason did my dip manicure and did a wonderful job. He kept checking to make sure I was happy and pleased with how they looked, which I really appreciated! The salon overall was really beautiful and a pleasant/comfortable environment that seemed very clean and used appropriate social distancing. Everyone was very nice and I will definitely be returning :)

Mary was so awesome. She stayed late just to finish my nails and did an amazing job. I showed her one picture and she got the design perfect. Very impressed with how clean the salon was as well. My new go to spot!

Danny was so professional & gentle! I’ve never gotten dip or a nail tip before and he made the process so great. I highly recommend him & this nail bar! I’m obsessed with my new nails & will definitely be going back :)

WORST NAIL SALON EXPERIENCE EVER!! Don’t come to this nail salon with high hopes especially if you are a women of color I came in with high hopes based in the reviews and I instantly got stared down as if I didn’t belong there. The lady was not listening to me and what I wanted and she basically freestyled on my hand the end result was chunky and thick even after I asked her to make it thinner. My nails started to pop off in less then 24 hours..if you are thinking about coming here based off the reviews think twice.

Great salon. A ton of colors to choose from and so clean!!! It was my first pedicure since the COVID hit and was it ever worth it! I felt completely safe, the ladies are so professional. My manicure and pedicure are flawless. The chairs are comfy and the price is right!!! Try them out for sure.

I got a gel mani and a pedi and the mani didnt last more than 3 days. The lady was so beyond rude and took 2 hours to complete when my friend came with me and finished in an hour. Do not recommend.

It was my first time at Southie Nail Bar and I had Jason- he was fantastic! I got an ombré dip manicure which looks amazing (and I feel like a hand model right now) and a pedicure. Highly recommend Jason and this place!

I’m so glad I found this place after driving through the neighborhood. Very beautiful inside, very clean, and the service was great. A full set was $38 + $15 for gel. The technician perfected the length and shape I wanted and confirmed that I was happy with them throughout the whole experience. I’ll be back again!

I recently got eyebrows and forehead waxed from Jason and he just took off way too much hair from forehead- am left looking bald from one side of my head and need to get treated for it.After the session, wax was stuck to my hair and was just so hard to remove, I had to wash multiple times to remove it . Im left feeling terrible and cant look at myself in the mirror. I just dont recommend getting waxing services done from here.

Went in for a basic manicure...honestly, I could have done a better job. They also didnt seem to be disinfecting spaces before or after clients.

I gave a 4 star because the nail bar is quite nice inside, appears to be very clean; I got a gel mani & a regular pedi and 1 day later 3 nails had chipped, I went back on day 3 to get the nails fixed ( was told they chipped because my nails are short) I dont think so!!! After repairing my nails, 4 days later more nails chipped, at this point I didnt even bother calling to complain, with that said I will NOT be going back!!! Unfortunately $65.00 WASTED!!!!

Very clean, great customer service the only reason why I wouldn’t go back it’s because the lady I think her name was Nikki cut me while doing my cuticles in 2 fingers for that reason I won’t go back but super clean, very nice people, great customer service, very fancy too.
