I put in an online maintenance ticket for my AC not working around midnight last night and maintenance responded around the first hour of them opening up for the day. Richard made sure everything was fixed and working properly. The easiest and quickest maintenance request/fix experience I’ve had at any apartment complex I’ve lived in.
I have lived at Hawthorne at Lake Heather for almost a year, and I can not say enough great things about living here! Its a beautiful community with every amenity I could ever need. The entire team here is cheerful, helpful, and trustworthy. They have always went above and beyond to make me feel valued as a resident ( special shoutout to Cole), and I am happy to call HLH home!
As someone who was moving from out of state, the team at HLH could not have made this transition any smoother. I was working nightshift at the time and Cole was always so accommodating and respectful of my very odd hours. He would send pictures of my new apartment, advocate for me since I was unable to visit, and was/is truly a joy to work with. The Hawthorne at Lake Heather is truly a retreat in the middle of a bustling city, and I could not ask for a better place to call home.
Richard the maintenance man is amazing! He came so quickly to our pipe emergency and fixed it and went above and beyond to help us! This man deserves a raise helping us at 9:30pm and making sure all was good. Super nice and friendly too!
Richard, the maintenance guy always goes above and beyond whats expected of him. Anytime we have a concern and hes on call he delivers results. Hes super friendly and professional and is absolutely an asset to the company as well as the community!
I have been living here for about 2 months and it has been absolutely awesome! Maintenance has taken care of every problem my roommate and I have come across so far, the office personnel have always been extremely nice, the community is very pleasant, I feel safe here, the apartment itself is awesome…this place has by far been way better than the previous 3 apartments we stayed in! I give this place a very solid 5 stars and two thumbs wayyyyy way up!
I toured SO many apartments around 280 and chose this location because of the staff and their helpfulness and enthusiasm! They seemed to love their jobs and enjoy their community. Amanda was so helpful and happy and really showcased all the benefits of the units. I also loved the property. It’s beautiful, quite and gated.
We love living here at Lake Heather Reserve. All of the maintenance men here are great. Richard came today and repaired our water heater and he was amazing. Richard was very knowledgeable fast and just a joy to be around. Thanks Richard for the amazing service.
We lived here for about 7 months while our house out of town was being built. There is not one thing that I would ask to be improved. Neighbors are awesome and we made some real lifelong friends there. Part of the club house was being renovated during our stay but that did not impact us and will only serve their apartment community better in the future. The addition of the amazon package pickup boxes was a great surprise. The area could not be more convenient to stores and entertainment, but it still felt away from everything. That staff is fantastic, especially Amanda. They all treated us like family. We’ve already recommended them to friends and work colleagues and will continue to do so. They did not ask us for this review, but they certainly deserve it.

The property is beautiful. I really like the pool. I am not moving now, but really enjoyed the property tour. The staff is very helpful and gave me lots of great information. I really believe it would be a great place to live. Thanks. Kathleen
I contacted Vickie at Hawthorne and she was very helpful and knowledgeable. Vickie answered all my questions and also helped a friend of mine. Hawthorne is a First Class Property and has First Class staff like Vickie. I highly recommend this property because of the personal touch the staff gives you and the location is private and away from busy roads.
I visited this property today and I had a fantastic time. Assistant manager Vickie was amazing and very informative. The property is beautiful and seems very family oriented. Also, the kitchen sizes are bigger than Ive seen in other apartment complexes which is a plus. Great time!
Staff was great and Richard was very assertive, helpful, and kept the place safe after hours by asking what I needed and guided me to the coffee. I would say he has leadership qualities that could do big things for your company.
Where do I start, the staff at this complex have been great to work with it’s like being at home with family. The Maintance staff is the best Tucker, Rich and David, you call them and they show up with the best attitudes never disgruntle they have always been their when I call. It used to be very good when vickie & Millanne were managing property they were very cordial and responsible towards tennants, but the new management is not good. we recently had big water leak in our flat .. its been 7 days they havent fixed it yet ... when we try to speak to them they were outright rude in their response. we cant dealt with such kind of abrasive behaviour, i would urge hawthorne properties to look into this matter...

I LOVE living here. The prices are fair, the employees are sweet, knowledgeable, and always helpful.Seriously, my ONLY complaint is that the closet space is kind of lacking in my one bedroom apartment (only one walk-in that connects the bedroom and bathroom). The kitchen pantry is also the laundry room which makes things kinda tight and awkward when you habe to store your mac and cheese next to the fabric softener, but I digress...Theres a nice swing set gazebo and a super cool dog park just a few feet from my apartment. One of my favorite things to do in the morning when I get home from work is to go to the swings and kinda meditate a little when its calm and quiet around me.Theres a beautiful pool area and clubhouse for events. I also love the kids play area! The grounds are beautiful and maintained very well.All of the residents Ive met here have been nice and very respectful. There are a lot of doggos, which I LOVE, and their owners actually clean up after them. I live on the bottom floor and I have had no issues with noise from my upstairs neighbors.The staff does cute things for resident appreciation during every holiday and just randomly throughout the year. Theyre all so kind and make coming home so welcoming! I also love that they do things to help the community. Toy drives during Christmas, coat and canned food drives, blood drives with the American Red Cross! It makes me happy to know how big their hearts are!One of my favorite parts about living here is the valet trash service! They pick your trash up from your doorstep. How amazing is that?!?They also just added Amazon Hub Lockers next to our mailboxes so that residents can pick up their packages 24/7.Amanda in the office is AMAZING. She really helped me out when I was first searching for a new place and made me feel safe and confident in my choice to live here. She is always available to help and answer any questions I might have. She always has a beautiful smile on her face and hugs me whenever we see each other. She really is a blessing.
Dont send an inquiry inquiry unless you want your email spammed to death. A month ago, I scheduled a tour. I cancelled that same week because I was approved at another place. Since then I keep getting emails about move-in specials, new units available, asking me for tours. The frequency went from twice a week to now EVERY....SINGLE....DAY. Sometimes multiple times per day.Ive done everything from telling them I found a place, to clicking the unsubscribe button, blocking each individual address, literally nothing has worked. Im getting to the point where Im about to see where I can file a complaint to get it to stop. If I cant tell you to stop, unsubscribe, and block you, what can I do?

My wife and I lived at this apartment complex for 2 years and had an excellent experience. Office staff was friendly and maintenance was always courteous and responsive. A great choice for families. Nice playground in the middle of the complex as well as a great pool for use during the summer. I would definitely recommend this complex to friends and family!

I have visited many apartment facilities but have never met a staff so involved and SO CARING! You can tell these people truly love their tenants..more so friends. We really enjoyed living here for the short time that we stayed. The rent was not bad for the area and the tenants were all very nice and respectful of one another. I would move back here again if we ever need to stay in another apartment
We moved here in August. We have enjoyed our time here so far. They have so much for the residents to do right on the property. My five year old loves it. We regularly visit the lake to feed the turtles and fish. Tha staff is very friendly and helpful. The property manager Jenny is so friendly and goes above and beyond to help you anyway she can. The assistant manager Michele is also amazing. Im glad we chose this to be our home.
Vicki and Millan were amazing throughout the entire process. We had a lot to overcome but those two work so hard for us. I recommend this place to any young family or just individuals.

I am incredibly disappointed in this complex. Ive been having issues with my hot water heater on and off for MONTHS. Back in September it was so bad I had water leaking into the floor. It took them almost 2 weeks to get it fixed. Flash forward to October and now I have inconsistent water pressure and temperature. I have tried calling many times, left many voicemails, and nothing has been done. I have water constantly draining in my hot water heater room for multiple days now, and left a voicemail stating it was okay to enter if I wasnt home for it to get fixed, do you think anyone has been by? At this point who knows where the water is draining to. I work full time and go to school full time, so I cant just sitting around waiting for them to get back in touch with me, its so bad Im still having issues with my carpet literally falling apart when I vacuum from the leak in September. Bottom line is, once I renewed my lease to live here a second year, things started falling apart and I felt as if no one was doing their job in making sure everything was legitimate fixed with my problems. The only person who follows up and keeps you fully informed is Richard in maintenance. After having all these problems and having ZERO solutions, only temporary bandaids, I will most definitely not be renewing my lease. My opinion of this complex has drastically changed over the year Ive lived here. And if it wasnt so expensive to break my current lease, I would due to their lacking care for problems and refusal to communicate. LEARN TO FOLLOW UP!!!

I wanted to write a follow up to my previous review since this is an all new issue with this apartment. Ill make it shorter as I cannot include all the details. Basically, after I had all my complaints before, the manager emailed and said she could release me from our lease early since we werent happy. Well, some things came up regarding my husbands family member which caused him to have to go across the country to care for this family member. Once he got back and we finally figured out where we needed/wanted to go to live, I told the manager were leaving when our lease was originally up. Yes, our lease is up in a couple weeks, however, at no point did she tell me that the email she sent me required a 30 day notice. She shouldnt have baited me with that email and made me think we could leave when we wanted. Not only that, but shes been rude ever since I first met her after she started working here. She has asked me more than once what I do for a living and why I have so many priority mail boxes sent to me, which is none of her business. I finally told her last night what I do and why I need those boxes, and I could tell she already knew because she quickly fired back a question about helping her with a charity event. I politely said no because we cant physically do it when were leaving in a few weeks, and thats when she hit me with the Well, you were supposed to give 60 days, its such a shame, and she was saying it in the most rude tone! I get we signed a lease, but again, dont send me emails saying we can leave without the 60 days notice. At no point other than very recently did she say that what she said in the email no longer applied. I could go on about her rudeness, like constantly not giving me my packages from the office, which happened just last night. I asked if my priority boxes were back there and she repeatedly said no. I finally walked back there and there they were in PLAIN SIGHT! I could say more, but to sum it up, I think the lady did this simply because she dislikes me. I believe she kept asking me what I do for a living because she already looked me up. What a nosy, rude person, and Hawthorne should be ASHAMED of such an employee. IF you still plan to rent here, DO NOT let Millanne help you!!

The staff here is very unhelpful. We really wanted to live here, and tried to get the staffs help with our application and paperwork. They were very rude, never answered the phone, and just downright did not care about me or my family at all. We paid our application fee, but decided to live somewhere else. When we called to get our fee returned, they said it would be returned back in our account. It has been over 3 months and we never got our money back. VERY disappointed with the people that work here. They essentially stole our money and told us there was nothing they could help us with. Glad we chose somewhere else to live!
I enjoyed my stay here. I lived here from 2013 until May 2018 and it was pretty good! If I had a maintenance issue, they came right out to fix it. They did have several manager changes which could be annoying but the very last one was good and I hate that she wasn’t there the entire time. I was relocating this year and I didn’t need to renew my lease. When I confirmed my move out date, the manager at the time told me I needed to pay both May and June’s rent, my move out date was going to be May 31st. I didn’t question it bc I assumed it was part of the 60 day notice. The new manager, stuck a notice on my door saying that I didn’t need to pay for June bc I was paying month to month. I was so happy bc relocation can be expensive. Only used four stars bc they change management way too much and not all the staff is friendly when they make those changes. Also the gate is not reliable lol it’s broken most of the time. Other than that, they’re good.
Management lied to our faces multiples times. They said it would cost us only one months rent to break the lease early then sent us a bill for an extra $400. They promised they would install shelving at no cost to us but changed their minds once we moved in. Lastly they messed up and under charged us, waited 30 days after we moved out and then called a debt collection agency on us without ever informing us we owed money. Something is wrong with these people.

Stayed here a total of five years & had to abruptly move out due to inconsiderate, rude and loud neighbors which I complained about numerous times & NOTHING was done by management. Gave a 60 days notice, moved out, gave SPECIFIC & DETAILED instructions where to send any correspondence. 30 days later, I receive a letter from an outside collection agency stating my acct is delinquent. Moved out on 12/1/2018. How is the acct delinquent when it’s been NO attempt to send an itemized statement of charges due from Hawthorne? Haven’t even been 30 business days from the the move out date & when I received this letter. This company can’t say they didn’t have the correct contact info because the collection agency has my forwarding address & telephone #. The whole office starting with Management is a total joke & shouldn’t be allowed to run a car wash let alone an entire apartment community where people are suppose to call home. You would think a “business” would want to handle things promptly with a great Former or even present tenant that’s never been late on any rent with no complaints EVER filed. Businesses will eventually learn they wouldn’t have a business without consumers & when the cost of paying out in small claims court trumps what debt could have been received if things were handled correctly in the first place
