I recommend not living at Royal Gulf Apartments. The apartments are mediocre - you can find better in the area for the same price ($750/mo for a 1 bedroom, total of $810/mo with things like washer/dryer in unit). I dealt with lots of cockroaches and severe second hand smoke while living here, and my apartment also desperately needed to be renovated. Worse, though, was my experience as a military member. While I was trying to PCS, they nearly rented my apartment out from under me and then hit me with an erroneous charge of $2400+. It takes a lot for me to tip, but they found my tipping point. Find someplace nicer and enjoy Biloxi!
I have been a tenet since 2015. Cindy & Stephanie in the office are the kindest and most helpful ladies when it comes to a persons needs and concerns I’ve ever had the pleasure to be around. Terry and Joey in maintenance are top notch. They fix any problems you have pretty much right after you report it,and sometimes when you don’t even know there’s one. Just the other they noticed a problem with my air conditioner. I found out when they emailed me that it had been fixed. A fantastic place to live.
We had a wonderful experience staying here at Royal Gulf! Weve lived all over the country (military) and this has been one of the best places weve ever stayed. This is a quiet and established apartment complex thats only a 5 minute walk to the beach! Its tucked in a great location, with enough separation from the mall and surrounding stores to make it feel like home.We were treated like family as soon as we moved in! Stephanie and Cindy were always very accommodating and polite whenever we had questions or needed anything! The few times we had maintenance requests, they were completed very quickly. This front office is well-managed, and they did a phenomenal job handling COVID-19 in a balanced manner.Would highly recommend! We wish we could stay here longer!
Staff is friendly, but the 1 bedroom apt is not worth $1050 per month. There is a smell in there that might be related to the mold in the kitchen that is causes me headaches near daily. I had roaches and now ants. I have been bitten several times. I also have to give visitors directions on how to flush the toilet since it cant be fixed. Additionally, a cat has brought me 4 dead birds and a rat to my door over the last couple months. I dont like death things. Spend some time in your apt before renting, especially if you havent lived in an apt in a while.
The staff are the greatest and always so quick and responsive. Terry, Joey, Cindy, and Stephanie
Cindy and Stephanie are nothing short of amazing. I had moved here from Korea and they made the entire process seamless and extraordinarily easy. Any issues I had were solved in under a day. The apartment complex is quiet, cozy, no crazy people. If you are moving to Biloxi in the future or are looking for a new place to move, look no further. From the time I arrived they treated me like family. If I could rate them 50 stars, I absolutely would. Its also in a very convenient spot right next to Walmart and 2 blocks away from the mall.
I’ve had no problems living here in the last five months. The water pressure isn’t that good in one of the bathrooms but it isn’t a big deal. Maintenance has always fixed all of our problems. I’m very sad to be leaving soon. Highly recommend these apartments, this a safe area and it definitely feels like home.
Best experience ever! Stephanie is patient with any questions I may have. We are treated like family. Great schools as well. If you are looking for cleanliness, relaxing and close to shopping this is the place to be!
This apartment complex is amazing. This is my first apartment living on my own while my husband is in school and I feel safe. I love that its a gated community where after hours not just anyone can walk in. Stephanie is an amazing women. She will go above and beyond to help you and make you feel comfortable. She will work with you every step of the way. I love that she made sure to put me in an apartment above retired military gentlemen and next to one who is still active. My neighbors are super nice and always willing to help me whenever they can or invite me to their cookouts.
I have been here 2 years and honestly feel so at home. The staff is very welcoming and incredibly efficient, helpful, andtimely in any task that is needed done. They are a pleasure to be around and really make one feel like there is no place like home.
If you are looking for a luxurious apartment complex with an amazing view and top notch amenities then this place is not for you. BUT WAIT let me explain all the amazing things this apartment offers. It offers a genuine caring atmosphere from the staff, a close knit community where it does not feel awkward to say hello to a passing neighbor, affordable and spacious apartments.I recently graduated from my respectful college in Texas, and moved down here for a job offer. Every apartment complex I went to never met my expectations. One place offered something another did not (example washer and dryer, but no wood floors etc.) and I could not bring myself to make a decision due to feeling unsatisfied with what I am getting with the other complexes. Ironically Royal Gulf was my last stop. I walked in and Mrs.Stephanie immediately greeted me with a great smile and positive attitude and explained the prices. a Two bedroom/two bath here was actually what I previously budgeted for a ONE BEDROOM ONE BATH. She was transparent on the costs and did not beat around the bush once during our conversation which I picked up on. I got everything I had on my list excluding wood floors(only a carpet second floor was available when I signed, and no one wants a loud 200 pound guy walking on the floor above them.) These people are great and if you want to narrow your apartment search by a couple of days, then start here. You may assume that I may work for the apartment complex( I always think good reviews are fake) which is understandable, but do not take my word for it. Stop by and look around and get to know Mrs.Cindy and Mrs.Stephanie. They are sweet down to earth amazing people. Even ask if I exist if you so choose ha.Hope this helps in your apartment search!
The managers and maintenance crew at Royal Gulf are great at what they do. They have answered any questions I have needed answered, provided great customer service, and handled everything in a timely manner. Cindy and Stephanie are friendly and great for the image of theae apartments. Maintenance issues are handled quicker than expected and the grounds are kept neat and orderly. I would recommend these apartments in the future.
I just moved here and the staff was absolutely great in helping me with my move, Stephanie and Cindy are the best!! I just had a great experience with the quick and fantastic maintenance staff Terry is the best! I had issues with the HVAC and spoke with Cindy and she took no time in having it taken care of for me thanks so much! Just wanted to add Ive been here for over 3 years. The office staff is the best always friendly and helpful. And the maintenance staff are great they respond in usually with in one hour, and take care of the problem even on the weekend and at night. And Joey is always upgrading and painting the older apartments. I would recommend Royal Gulf as a place to call home.
This place is amazing. Moved here about two months ago. Stephanie and Cindy in the office are truly the best. Quite neighborhood very close to Wal-Mart, the mall, as well as the beach. Service calls are normally handled the same day as well. What truly sells this place for me is the staff. They are awesome and will bend over backwards to help you in any way they can.
I have had a great experience at royal gulf staff is very polite. VERY GENEROUS TO MILITARY. Also enjoy the fact that they have washer and dryer available to rent. Highly recommend this apartment complex.
Maintenance and office staff are awesome! Recent issues were handled professionally and timely. Way to go team!!!@
Ive only moved in a couple of days ago. So far, Ive never had such an accommodating and friendly apartment complex. The apartments are nice and open. The staff is wonderful. To give you an idea, I moved from out of state. I shipped 19 boxes early so that I would have them ready when I got here, even though they took up a boatload of room. I was never hassled, nor did it ever seem like it was a huge problem. Maintenance even let me use their person trailer to haul them right to my door step. At this point I cant say enough good things about this place.
“If we failed to meet your customer service expectations...” should be less of a concern to them than that they failed to follow equal opportunity laws. What a joke of a response! We found a way nicer apartment, with better staff, but have reported the incident that it not happen to anyone else.We were turned away from the leasing office and not even shown an apartment, let alone allowed an application, solely on the basis that my boyfriend is stationed at Keesler AFB, and they thought he “might break the lease” due to being a military officer. He is now obligated to file a report with the housing department at the base, as this is explicitly illegal conduct. And they had the nerve to say they “give a lot to our military.”
I absolutely love this place. I have lived here now for a year and a half and they are currently helping me switch from a two bedroom to a one bedroom because I did not want to move to a different complex. The neighbors are extremely nice. I have made several fun filled memories with my neighbors and the staff is WONDERFUL!!!!!!! Cindy is an amazing landlord and Steph is amazing as well. I know I can go in there and talk to them about anything I need to. Terry and Joey are absolutely WONDERFUL as well. I know that if anything needs to be fixed that they have my back and they are there for me. They also stop and talk with residents which is great to see. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone. Cindy, Steph, Terry and Joey are AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wouldnt want to live anywhere else!!!!!
I have lived at these apartments on two separate occasions, and everything is fine until you try to move out. Both times, they kept my deposit without any word on why or what they had used it for, which is in violation of their own lease agreement as well as the law. Even after writing them a letter pointing this out to them I received no response. Its probably better than being homeless, but not by much.
Very satisfying, the people are great and the service is fast. The apartment is great for family couple or of four. Easy to go to places and accesibable.
Moved into my apartment here a week ago. The apartment was clean and as expected. Stephanie walked through the apartment with me to make sure everything met my expectations and that I was happy. The neighbors Ive met so far have been extremely nice. Grounds are clean, and all staff are friendly. If you are military, this is a great place to stay despite other negative reviews. The sooner you give them orders and a move out date the better if you are here for a month to month lease due to military service.Location is super convenient as well.15 mins from Keesler2 minutes to Walmart and Shopping MallLots of dining options.Beach is straight out the front gate about a blockNo issues or complaints thus far! Love it here!
Best home away from my home ever! Lets just start with the staff... from the first day I met them and down to my final moments in MS, Cindy and Stephanie were so welcoming and made every interaction so friendly and upbeat. There were never any secrets and they explained my lease in full detail. They showed me a few apartments and the deal was sealed for me. The apartments are easily affordable, yet they are so well kept that they feel a bit upscale. The entire community is a quiet and peaceful neighborhood that seems very tight knit. I adored how nice my neighbors were, so much that I miss them already hahahah. The location is center to absolutely anything that you need, so your work commute is probably the only thing youll ever commit a drive to (if that applies to you).Did I mention the staff? Stephanie and Cindy truly make everything as hassle-free as possible. Maintenance issues are minor (i.e. fire alarm battery, dryer vent clogged, door knob stuck from salty humid air) and are handled almost as soon as I would hang up the phone. Truly, just be transparent with the office cause they will always work with you. I miss my home at Royal Gulf sooooo much, because it was just that... my home. I hope Royal Gulf continues to run under its current management cause that place is awesome due to them and the community they have created.
Very bad ROACH PROBLEM. pest control comes out 1-2 a month & its ineffective. Its an infestation here. Apartments close to many things but the roaches are A DEAL BREAKER for me.
If I could give these apartment complex 0 stars I would!!! because that is what they Fully deserve!! Ive been having a issue with the landlord since i first moved in. So i feel like its a bit retaliation. They hate when you have KNOWLEDGE and know your rights and laws!! They illegally lock me out of my apartment due to past due rent supposedly BUT I paid Cindy N. the past due rent and court cost a couple of days after the court date on 8-24-18!! Court was 8-22-18! She was the only person in the office that day around 2:15 pm when I gave Cindy my money order of $896.00. She insisted going into my apartment to change my locks herself the day i went out of town on 9/4/18 around 3:30 pm due to the hurricane WARNING weather!! she basically watch my boyfriend and I pack my car and went in my apartment did this ILLEGALLY LOCK OUT that we didn’t know anything about!!! (TRESPASSING) She took my money of $896.00 and said I was evicted. she put a old court order on my door on 9-4-18 that is the day I left out of town and when the lockout was done! the date on the paper said 8-3-18 but she changed the The date 9-4-18. I went to get the Court order it stated the lockout was supposed to be done on 9/3/18 and the CONSTABLE was to do the lock out. BY LAW A CONSTABLE HAS TO REMOVE YOU FROM YOUR APARTMENT THE DATE COURT ORDERED IT. Also, court stated that the paper she put on my door is old document. reminder ( I was home ALL day on 9-3-18. ) The only reason I found out a lock out ordered was made was when I got back into town which is 5 1/2 hours away from Biloxi, MS, On 9/6/18 so i went up to the court to get the court order to get a clear answer! they was supposed to do it on 9-3-18 with a constable. She lock my belongings into the apartment and told me to call the police to get my things!! But she still didn’t let me get my belongings out the apartment. I was not removed by a sheriff the day it was supposed be done! I left out of town she locked my door. BY LAW you Have to follow proper eviction steps if we are evicted ! She didnt record that I paid her a money order of $896.00 I’m her system at all. REMINDING YOU I was home on 9/3/18. not a single notice was put on my door stating that a lockout was going to occur. (THATS A PROBLEM) BY LAW you have to follow these steps! she trying to STEAL my money but I will be taking them to court and suing the company 2x have plenty of evidence to bag up my claim from old situations to NOW!! They basically did what I needed them to do so I can prove my claim. If they Would have did this the right way it wouldnt be a discussion but it was ILLEGALLY DONE!! they are CORRUPT, Someone in the office is stealing money from their company!! Justice will be served and it is out of my hands. I am fully getting the justice system involved.
TLDR; Pros: cheap, close to base, decent looking, good maintenance guy Cons: Would not recommend to other military members, no matter what your whole deposit will be taken, oldI am honestly so sad to give this a poor review. When my roommate and I first moved in, we had a great experience with the staff, they were sweet and very accommodating. The 2br and 2ba we stayed in wasnt in the best condition (we found nails on the ground in the first week which my sister hurt herself with when we were doing yoga) but I felt it was worth the price we were paying ($750). Both of us told the staff we werent sure when we would receive orders to move to our next location and Cindy and Stephanie told us it would be absolutely fine.Fast forward 9 months, I got orders to move(my roommate and I were both military) and I went into the office to let them know we wanted to terminate our one year lease 3 months early. I didnt expect to be yelled at by Cindy who was so sweet before and it left me and my roommate feeling very confused seeing as our orders are not something we can control. We were repeatedly told that we should be ashamed and that it was disgraceful that we took advantage of them even though we had spoken to them about our situation and had been very transparent since the beginning.Afterwards, I really just wanted to leave quietly and move on. What finally sparked this review was the bill we received for cleaning. They took our full deposit and asked for $145 more on top of it when we very clearly left the apartment cleaner than we got it. Ive traveled a lot and lived in 4 apartment complexes before this and Ive never encountered this before. My hope is they were having a bad day and we chose a bad time to walk in to the leasing office. (Stephanie was never rude to us, she was always very sweet) Needless to say, I would not recommend this apartment complex to other members of the military.
DO NOT LIVE HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO LOSE YOUR DEPOSIT AND BE CHARGED FOR DAMAGE YOU DIDNT CAUSE!!!Anissas roommate checking in. Royal Gulf Apartments decided to take our deposit and charge us an extra $145 on top of that for damages. I called them today to talk about the charges and they did not want to talk at all! They were mad because Anissa had so much fun leaving that nasty review, which I thought was a pretty fair review. I told them respectfully that some of the charges were definitely on us and we were willing to pay them. Some were not our fault while others were blatant nitpicking (they took a picture of a single hair in the bathtub). They did not want to hear that at all. I asked them if we could talk about it or if they were just intent on sweeping it under the rug. Send us $145 by mail and that was that.If you do decide to live here, make sure you point out every little damage to management or you will be charged. They charged us for command hooks in the bathroom that were already there, claiming it would damage the walls if they took it off. Im guessing that they will charge the next tenants that move in for the hooks as well. Fans were dirty when we moved in and there were nails in the carpet. They charged us for old damage on the kitchen countertops. They didnt remodel the place so the countertops were already old. Yet, they expected us to return their place in a better condition than we received it. They are trying to charge you money to help them pay for their own cleaning/remodeling cost.Only good things about the apartment is that it is located right by the beach and the Walmart. It is also located right next to the train tracks and the train will come through multiple times a day (including at night) so find somewhere else if you are a light sleeper. It is roughly 9 miles from Keesler, which is not too bad but you can definitely find closer and better in Diberville or Ocean Springs. The staff there was nice most of the time when we lived there but will turn on you once youre gone.
BEST APARTMENT BUILDING EVER !!! Im So happy Me and My Husband Picked this Home . The Staff Were so Friendly and Treated us like Family the first Day . I Definitely Recomend You wont Be Disappointmented
I lived here for a brief moment while awaiting my discharge from the US Army. Prior to signing the lease, I explained that I may be subject to leaving the area abruptly as I was pending a medical discharge. It was agreed at the time I signed my lease that there would be no problem if this should occur. Well, low and behold, four months later I received my discharge orders and was forced to return to South Louisiana to begin my VA Vocational Rehab. Of course they didnt recall any of the previous conversations we had once it was time for me to go. Therefore, they kept my deposit, and now have a collections account on me for over $600. I have called there several times throughout the last two years and I have yet to have anyone return my call so that I can clear this account up.Needless to say, I agree with everyone else and their ill sentiment to this apartment complex.
For the cheap price and the great location you cant beat it but it can never keep help and the community upkeep suffers because of it. Too many strays and outdoor pets that are infested with fleas and everything else. Its ghetto at best but if you can bat a blind eye at its imperfections then its fine. Super super close to edgewater mall & new shops and is in walking distance of the new Walmart =))) thats a plus!!!
DO NOT RENT AT THIS APARTMENT COMPLEX! They do not fix appliance like theyre suppose to. All appliances are out of date. Cindy can be the most rudest person you will meet. They fix things at their convenience and when they want too. At the moment our air conditioner is out and of course were told to let up windows that they will be down her whenever. WERE IN THE SOUTH ITS HOT OUTSIDE LETTING UP WINDOWS WILL MAKE IT HOTTER!!! I HAVE A TWO MONTH OLD THAT DOES NOT NEED TO GET HOT!!! MOST PIECE OF CRAP APARTMENTS RUN FAR FAR FAR AWAY!!!!
Lived here for 7 months recently. Staff were friendly, responsive and professional, probably the best Ive had. Apartments were in good order, with only a few minor issues. Really enjoyed the floorplan in the 770 sq ft or so unit. Neighbors were friendly, walls were decently thick. Only pest problem was some gnats, but we just stopped up the bathroom sink every night and that cut down a lot of the problem.Basically, if youre looking for good value on apartments in the Biloxi/gulfport area with easy access to the beach and 90, you will not be disappointed by Royal Gulf
Great place to live, friendly staff, and close to base.
Run far far away from this apartment complex! Multiple car break ins they do Not care for your safety nor your vehicles. Dont expect the gated complex to stay locked. Big time roach problem, for the whole time I was there. They do NOT honor military clause BE CAREFUL IF YOU ARE MILITARY! Made my move out super stressful, due to 60 day notice even thoughy husband was being deployed and we stressed the concern of needing to leave at the end of our lease. Out dated appliances. Walls are paper thin can hear everything going on upstairs and on the sides. Watch out for move out cost thats where they will get you.... they will let vendors in your apt without your consent after you tell them your not renewing and dont find out untill your stuff is missing. Multiple drug users and drunks all around the complex!!! Grown adults pee in the pool in front of mgr and they think its funny. Not worth the discount they will give!!! Take my advice and go elsewhere....
Love the staff. They are family. Im finally home.
APARTMENT ARE NICE THE AREA IS NICE BUT ITS A SERIOUS ROACH PROBLEM EVERY NIGHT YOU GO IN THE KITCHEN THEY EVERYWHERE COME FROM ALL THE LIL CRACK IN THE CORNERS OF THE APARTMENT YOU TELL PEST CONTROL THEY COME AND SPRAY IT ONE TIME LIKE THATS SUPPOSE TO SOLVE SOMETHING AN WHEN THEY USE IT THE ROACHES COME OUT MORE AND BE WORST !
Pretty and Quiet
