Excellent service! A fast and efficient service and when I arrived the car was available, I do not remember the name of the one who gave me the service the first time, she is very friendly and we talked about the Thanksgiving day! With whom I return in the car, she is very fast and efficient too!

I had a great experience with this Hertz location! I was initially a little afraid with the bad reviews but they were very courteous, fast, and friendly. We got a great clean Toyota Corolla and everything was in tip top shape. Would highly recommend!

Worst experience I have ever had with a car rental. The staff is extremely rude (Tiffany the manager and her co worker) dont even bother to wear masks. Never will rent from Hertz again! This location is literally the worst!

I got there and had to wait 15m for someone to show up at the desk only to find out AFTER I BOOKED A RESERVATION that there were NO CARS LEFT!!!!!The guy was rude, not helpful, didn’t apologize. Hated it never again would never recommend.

LIARS. stay away from them. I got a rental from Bethesda branch, agent name was Josef. Since I had full coverage on my own car I did not get their insurance. I return the car with full gas. After a few days, He charged me $140. They told me that you can bring the car with either full gas or empty gas. In both cases we are gonna charge you for full gas. they charged me insurance that I have never requested. The weird part is that when I rented the car Josef told me printer is broken. so he did not give me any paper to sign. they are real scammers

So. Had a Hertz reservation made by an insurance company, and my experience this time and at this location was horrible. Called the day before to confirm reservation and a pick up from an auto body shop at 3:30 the next day. Told them I couldnt answer my phone until around 2:30 pm. Leave work today, get to my car at 2:31 and notice I had a miss call from them, so I call right back and get no answer. I figure they will call back and everything was fine, little did I know that it wasnt. Get to the auto body shop around 3:20 and I wait, and wait, and wait. I call multiple times once it gets past 3:30 and dont get an answer, until I call at approximately 3:58. The gentleman tells me that the guy who was going to pick me up called and I didnt answer, at which point I told him all the stuff mentioned above. He tells me that he might be able to pick me up, after he helps people that were supposed to be there at 4:00. So I wait until 4:26 at which point I had to decide to walk the half hour to the Hertz so I could make it before they close at 6:00. I make it there and the guy seems to have an attitude towards me even though I am the one that got screwed. I then ask if I can get a drop off to the auto body place when I drop off the car and he says there will only be one person there so call early. Why do you even offer that service if you only have one person working? Also why only call once almost exactly at the time I said I might be able to answer my phone and just assume I didnt need a pick up? All I can say is that someone in management should either cancel the pick up/drop off service or hire another person to do it. Also a sorry would have been nice.

I would give this place a zero, if I could. I have been a customer of Hertz for many years, and the rental office staff at this Bethesda Hertz is the worst. I had made a reservation the night before I needed a rental car. On the morning (a few hours) before I needed to pick up the car, I get a phone call stating that there are no cars available and that I needed to cancel my reservation. It takes over half an hour to reach someone at the number I am given. However, they would not assist me. They gave me a non-working number to the Hertz helpline. After I looked up the number myself, I was able to cancel the reservation. I was assured that I would be refunded. They then refunded me $5.30 instead of the full $135.30. When I disputed this with my credit card company, I was told that since I canceled less than 24hrs prior to the pick up time, that I had no recourse. This, despite the fact that they had no car to rent me and despite the fact that this is obviously a clerical error (the latter of which is the fault of American Express). Why immediately charge $135.30 prior to the pick-up and then refund $5.30.

Hertz was actually lower than any other car rental in the area. My check in process was quick and courteous. There were no more small cars so I received a full size for no additional charge. Great customer service.

I had prepaid my booking online. When I picked up my car the attendant told me the final charge - the amount was roughly what I paid online so I accepted. However, he actually created a new bill with full insurance and discounted what I already paid. So I was effectively charged twice!Probably a bit of a misunderstanding - shame because everything else went smoothly! Luckily Hertz customer support were understanding and fixed the charge.

AWFUL! Reserved the car and pickup time at repair shop weeks before. The repair shop warned me about this place. They were right, but the insurance company had made the reservation. Hertz was 45 minutes late. Did they take me to their rental place a few blocks away? No . . . 20 miles out of my way, so the driver could pick up a car to ferry. Hertz rented me their ferry car--dings, scrapes, and scratches all over it. Insurance company gave me the opportunity to upgrade, but Hertz had no cars for two days to permit that. So when my car was repaired, I called to be sure a driver would be there. Ha! Hertz says they are on Wisconsin Avenue. Nope, they are on Waverly Street, around the corner, AND in a hotel. No sign. So, I had to call and ask directions. I arrive. No driver. Quote: You were late. I was on the phone with them. I wait 10 minutes. No driver. My repair shop sent a car for me. Some employee came over to ask me what the problem had been. I said the service was awful and told him why. His response, What was wrong with any of that?

I talked to Wogen at this location, and his demeanor was pleasant and friendly the entire time. I was impressed by his efficiency and attention to detail--he was help in mtiple customers at once and never once did he falter or make a mistake. He pointed out ways to make the process smoother, and I appreciate that a lot. He made us feel welcome and I left feeling happy. We rented large vehicle and he was thorough in talking us through all the small details but I had fun.If youre lookin to rent through hertz, try to get Wogen!

This has been the Worst renting experience ever! I rented a car from Bethesda for 10am, I received a call at 9:50am saying that no cars were left at the Bethesda location. So they suggested that I go to the Silver Spring location. There was nothing but choas there, there was long line of people complaining about waiting, dirty cars. It was an extremely low standard of quality even if you arrive with humbe and low expectations.

Very Rude. Not welcoming. I was there to pick up a rental service provided by Insurance company.I called the guy before I reach there. And when I arrived instead of welcoming he started shouting about me not using street entrance (note: its inside residence Inn & they do not have any sign/ notice that I can not use side entrance).Thank god it was Hertz, the car was in good condition. However It was not washed/cleaned after last use for sure.

Junior at this location went above and beyond to help me today. Without going into a lot of detail, Junior provided service that will make me use Hertz from this day on. He made an extremely difficut expierence pleasant and enjoyable. More employees should take a lesson from Junior, he is a keeper!

I REPEAT DO NOT EVER DO BUSINESS HERE !! I was rented a car through state farm while my car was in the shop, Yosef was the person helping me, number one, the car he rented me smelled like someone had just smoked 10 cigarettes !!! Little did i know that they charge a $300 fee for smoking in their cars. Yosef called me to ask how the car was and i said its okay but it did smell like smoke.. Youd think hed take note of that, nope! nor did he tell me or mention the $300 fee they charge if they believe you smoked in the car . Anyway the day my car was ready i was told to drop it off at the auto shop which i was hesitant to do because the receptionist told me that if anything happened to it overnight, it would be my fault because the car would be under my name still. I took the chance and left it. Yosef let me know that he would have someone from their Rockville location pick it up. Today hertz from Rockville calls and lets me know of my gas charges and oh yeah they drop the bomb that they found evidence (Car smelled like smoke) that i smoked in the car so i will be getting charged $300 !!! They are thieves !!! I called Yosef to let him know the news and all he could say was are you sure you didnt smoke ? Are you kidding ? This by far is the WORST customer service I have ever experienced, and to think i gave Yosef a good review because he kept insisting when I was picking up the rental... He seemed genuine but clearly he set me up.. He should be fired and Hertz of Bethesda should rehire new employees or just close the office.

DONE WITH HERTZ!!! IT HURTS TO USE HERTZ!!! The entire experience was a disaster. 6-8 calls for one reservation, 2 with random disconnects, and several employees that didnt seem to care. All to end up with the wrong car, because the vehicle I wanted wasnt available, which Hertz shouldve known ahead of time. Simply put: 1st call - Booked the reservation, only to have the pickup location tell me 2 hours later that they dont have any cars for the time period, and then cancel my reservation with no offer to move to a different pickup location. 2nd call - new reservation with a higher price point because thats controlled by the system, and theres nothing I can do. 3rd-5th call - due to what mustve been a communication mixup, the pickup location is closed. Another new reservation to be created at a - you guessed it - higher price point because thats controlled by the system, and theres nothing I can do. That took 3 calls to complete due to inconsistencies and dropouts. Having to wait 30 minutes to actually pickup the wrong car that was both dirty and damaged, was completed ridiculous. During the trip, check pump lights kept appearing. When I returned the vehicle, I had to wait 20 minutes because of other people who were also waiting because this particular location in a hotel lobby has one staff member. Lesson learned - DO NOT USE HERTZ!!NOTE: My review is mostly based on the company, and partly on the local office. I would give a zero if google allowed.

Some HLEs are good, and some are not, but the HLE at the Residence Inn is an asset to the neighborhood. The manager, Vernon, knows how to treat customers.

Terrible customer service. Do yourself a favor and drive down the road and go to enterprise. Or, let enterprise pick you up. I was stranded with a broken down car and insurance made a reservation at this hertz. They refused to send someone to get me with the car. I dont know if that is all Hertz, or just the whim of an incredibly rude customer service agent. Regardless Ill never rent from this location, and will always try to avoid Hertz at all cost. Customer service matters.

The staff, particularly Anthony were totally rude to me. I had booked a vehicle via my insurance company a week prior and had the confirmation number. Lesley said they had no car for me (and no explanation why) but he would call me in the morning at 8am, to follow up, which he didnt. I couldnt get a straight answer out of him as to why a car reserved a week prior would not be available to me as scheduled and his attitude was not pleasant or apologetic. Since I did not receive a call back, I called the next day and spoke to Anthony who was totally unhelpful and rude -- and LIED saying they had not received my reservation until the night before -- I know he lied because I called my insurance company and they gave me exact times that they had confirmation of the reservation -- one week earlier. I cancelled and booked with Enterprise. I wont be giving my money to an unreliable and rude rental car agency. I also reported this to my insurance company so that they can take it up at a corporate level with Hertz.

Rent somewhere else.I returned a rental to this hotel after their closing time of 6 pm. Not only did they charge me $25 valet fees to put it in their own garage, they also failed to put a valet ticket in the car so they had to call me the next morning asking where the car was. The incompetence of Hertz dumbfounds me.
