I’m and adult amateur that took an unexpected 15 year hiatus from the sport and started up again about a year ago at NHHP. I didn’t know if I would ever compete again and less than I year later I now own two lovely jumpers they found for me and am jumping 1.15m at shows. I’ve never been happier and this place is extended family. Can’t recommend them enough.

With quality coaching for all levels & ages, the world’s best school horses & ponies, a beautiful facility, happy atmosphere & wonderful family environment this place is so very special. My horses have always been happy and healthy at NHHP, AND they’re open 7 days/week for fun with friends! This place seriously is my happy place, and many others’.Thank you NHHP for being our favorite farm ever and our home❤️

I started at NHHP as an extremely amateur adult rider les than two weeks ago. Prior to showing up, I had gone to a few other places, did a fair amount of google sleuthing and called up NHHP to set up a meeting. Literally within seconds of talking on the phone with Carli, I was ready to make NHHP my horse home.I showed up a few days later for my lesson and was blown away by how beautiful and idyllic the grounds were. I could not stop smiling. Then I met Carli, Melany, and Courtney (my coach) and everything just clicked. These women are phenomenal riders, tremendous coaches and fun as hell to be around. The icing on the cake was the fact that the riding school horses are wonderful teachers in their own right. After my lesson, I stayed for quite some time after and watched other riders. I didnt want to leave. I just enjoyed being there. So I scheduled a lesson for the next day...and the day after that...Ive been there over half a dozen times in less than 2 weeks.I dont leave reviews typically and I realize this is the opposite of the short and sweet. However, one thing that is crucial to mention is that good horsemanship is emphasized at NHHP. In starting this journey, I wanted to learn as much as I could about horses (i.e. how to groom them, tack them, get their respect, learn from them, etc.) rather than just jump on them, jump off, pat their head and go home. Good horsemanship is the foundation at NHHP.NHHP is my happy place.

Ive ridden in several barns in multiple countries over the past 30 years, and this is one of my favorites. Im looking for three things: an exciting horse, an instructor I can learn from, and a place being run with some degree of organization. In my experience, good horses are relatively easy to find. Good instructors are much more difficult. But perhaps the biggest difference between barns is how they are run. I personally dont need much: if I show up for a scheduled ride and the place is open and I can find my tack and my horse, Im happy. Lets just say not every place I know can deliver this... NHHP has everything: great horse, great instructor, and order - without feeling high-maintenance.And, Mel and Carli are the nicest people youll meet. Great place to ride!

I have ridden here for a little over a year and have made so many happy memories at this barn, as well as made so much progress. I came as a first time adult rider who didn’t know if she could even sit on a horse without an anxiety attack for my first lesson. Carly and Melany welcomed me at this barn, and every single trainer I have worked with here has made me a better rider and clearly bring years of experience to the table. The welcoming environment the owners have created here is unique and perfect for someone like me who was so nervous when I first got here. I have loved so many of their school horses, made some great friendships, but most importantly have gone from trying to give myself an hour break once a week, to falling in complete love with this sport. The school horses here have been amazing teachers and have made me feel safe. The arenas are well maintained, and I have loved having the availability of 5 arenas, so if lessons were going on in one, there is the freedom to ride in another one. Carly has been a complete joy to learn from and also inspiring. They try to make every client feel welcomed and valued, and have given me one of the best years of my life. Definitely give this place a try.

About 4 months ago I started riding at NHHP and I have loved every second of my experience. Being an Adult Amateur rider, it has been wonderful to find trainers like Carli and Courtney to help me find my way in this sport. Excited for the many many rides to come!

My daughter has ridden at this facility for almost 20 years. She started as a beginner rider on school horses with awesome trainers. We have purchased three horses, two that are still at this facility. Melany and Carli are awesome, caring for both the horses and the riders. If you want a safe riding facility, that is well maintained, and feels like home......this is the place for you!

Amazing facility. My daughter takes classes here, twice a week. We have been doing this for over two years. The space is welcoming and relaxing. The trainers are professional and the owners (mother and daughter) are extremely friendly and helpful. Sometimes, we spend extra time after class to unwind there. When cold in the winter, there are fires lit for warmth. English riding facility.

Ive only had one lesson here so far, but I had an absolute fantastic time! English style is new to me but I cant wait for more! Everyone I met there, including my teacher Savannah, and owners Melany and Carlie are a delight to be around, know their stuff, and are very supportive! I would highly recommend anyone, new or experienced to give them a try!

North Houston Horse Park is absolutely the best training and boarding stable in the Houston metropolitan area; in fact, its the best stable Ive encountered anywhere! The trainers, who are incredibly accomplished, enthusiastically impart their knowledge to their students and the horses are all sane, fit and superbly cared for. North Houston Horse Park sets the training and equine care standards with which few stables (if any) can compete, let alone exceed.

I have been riding here for 18 years, I have had all of my horses here. Melanie has been an amazing coach and the facility is wonderful. My horses are always in wonderful condition. When I travelled to another state for college I got compliments not only on the condition of my horse but of my solid riding abilities and correct training. I love this place, the people are wonderful, and you or your child will be able to accomplish whatever you hope to with wonderful support and training.

I have been riding at North Houston Horse Park for almost 20 years. I started riding school horses with wonderful beginner trainers and school horses. After a few years and realizing that I wanted to progress in the sport, my family bought a horse and I began to compete. For 10 years I competed at A shows across the country with my awesome and super talented coach Carli Kirsch. Carli, who is a knowledgeable Grand Prix rider, has such a great passion for the sport and her enthusiasm spreads to her riders.North Houston has such a fun and positive atmosphere. There are 4 large rings for riding and an indoor ring. There is always a place for a lesson or free riding. The barns/stalls/pastures are very well maintained. I have 2 horses stabled at the barn and would not go anywhere else!! North Houston is our home and our family!!

Tucked up in the beautiful suburban paradise of Conroe, Texas, Melanie and Carli Kirsch have created every horsey person’s dream of a beautiful barn with rolling green paddocks and idyllic shade trees dotting the rings and viewing areas. Beyond the aesthetics of the place, they are stunningly competent riders and even better coaches who couldn’t care more about the wellbeing of their students and horses. Courtney is the hands down best instructor I have ever had the pleasure of being taught by, and renewed my confidence in my riding and is so supportive and encouraging. You know if she gives you a compliment, you truly earned it. I can’t think of a better place to go to start learning, or to continue your skills.

I have been at NHHP for about a year and a half now after taking nearly a decade off from riding and could not have happened on a better place after moving to the Houston area! This facility is amazing and Melany, Carli and the staff work every day to keep it that way. Few trainers care as much for the happiness and safety of every single one of their clients (and their horses) as NHHPs do. I have ridden with multiple trainers but am now riding with Melany, and am consistently blown away with her expertise with both horse and rider (as well as Carli and the other trainers!) and never leave a lesson without a smile on my face. If you are looking for a facility where hard work, respect and can-do attitudes are clearly valued, this is it. So thankful to have found my Houston horse family here!

This is the best barn in Houston.I started riding here Jan 2018 after being away from horses for over 15 years. I looked at multiple barns in the area and settled on this one for so many reasons. The trainers are truly amazing and their love of horses and teaching really shows. They are very patient and take the time to explain everything to you and in a way that you can actually UNDERSTAND. They provide lessons for a variety of skill levels and ages - from the itty bitties to the older adults. Their lesson horses are fantastic and very forgiving. Everyone at the barn is very friendly and welcoming... no “clicky” feeling here. Quite a few people have been here for 10+ years and many of the newbies have come from other barns in the Houston area to board and train here since the care and lessons are so fantastic. There is no pressure to buy your own horse and there is no pressure to compete but if you have an interest they will completely support you in your goals. After much consideration I approached them in March to purchase my own horse (life long dream) and they helped me through the whole process and made sure I got the PERFECT horse for ME.Quite a few people who ride, myself included, are there to become better riders and use this as an outlet for life’s stresses and to just have fun. North Houston Horse Park is my happy place... if you are interested in jumping give it a chance and it will be your happy place too.

My daughter has ridden at NHHP for almost 6 years now and has gone from a beginner pony to owning her own jumper show horse. We have been delighted with the level of training and education in horse care we have received. The staff has always made the care of the horses their top priority. In fact, when my horse was a little underweight, he was given additional feed at no extra cost to make sure he was in the best possible health. I would not hesitate to recommend NHHP to anyone looking to board or train. As to another reviewer who doubts the morals being taught here...you need to meet the people you are running down. The atmosphere at this place is phenomenal. The riders respect one another and the trainers are looked up to as role models. Come out and visit if you really want to see how a class act facility is run.

Beautiful facility and amazing trainers. NHHP is home to Carli Kirsch and Casco, a horse and rider duo making a name for themselves in grand prix competitions around the country. Just this last year, they competed in a World Cup class and regularly score top marks in their competitions. If youre looking for casual riding lessons with a family environment or planning to at the professional level, I cant think of a place better than NHHP.This stable teaches true horsemanship. NHHP is one of Houstons best kept secrets.

I recently returned to riding after a hiatus of 40 years. Everyone at NHHP has been encouraging and helpful at every turn. This is an amazing facility . . . immaculate (no small feat with horses) and top drawer in every way (from the tack to the school horses to, most particularly, the instructors). I have taken private lessons with Courtney and group lessons with Kelly - I enjoyed/enjoy both very much. I have not taken lessons with Melany or Carli (who work with more advanced riders) but I have watched both. All the instructors at NHHP truly care about their students and their horses and want them to do and be the best they can do and be.I highly recommended NHHP for anyone who wants a truly exemplary riding experience!

My wife and I are possibly moving back to the area (Harpers Preserve) and looking for a place to board my wifes show mule and later additional horses that I will be getting for my daughter and wife.My wife talked to Melany. When my wife mentioned Mule, Melany proceeded to talk down to my wife stating that she could not afford to board at their stables and asked how much we paid now. My wife told her that we now pay $500/month at Cherry Creek Stables in Mont Belvieu and before that $450/month at Sienna Stables in Missouri City (both reputable and great stables!) and she said, We are considerably more than that!, but still wouldnt say how much they were.My wife said that he was a show mule and Melany said, Honey, I dont care, my Grand Prix horses would jump 2 foot sideways if he moved!. My wife then said, I would hope your horses were better trained than that and Melany hung up on her.My wife understands that horses/owners can be funny around mules and has dealt with this her whole life as she has had Gus since age 13. She explains this all to me as I am not a horse person. But I am a person that has values, descency and respect for others and it is amazing that people can be this snobby and disrespectful.Say, Sorry, but we dont board Mules. All of the other attitude and condesending comments is uncalled for!Melany doesnt know me (Disable Combat Veteran) or my wife (Texas A&M Bachelors degree in Animal Science). I work hard so that my wife, even with her college degree, can stay home to raise our 3 beautiful children. My wife has ran her own stable, been a riding instructor for multiple facilities and shown at many mule and horse shows including the Houston Rodeo. And we are a class below Melany and North Houston Horse Park because my wife chooses to have a mule?Myself and many great men and women have put their life on the line to assure American freedoms and without that Melany wouldnt have a stable where they could discriminate against people who werent like them.Parents, be mindful if you choose to send your children here for lessons. Not sure that you will want them to learn the values that Melany and North Houston Horse Park represent!

My daughter and I have been at NHHP for over two years now and I can not say enough about the training and friendship we have received here. We originally boarded our own horse here and they made every effort to help train this horse into a presentable hunter/jumper. When his nasty attitude got him red carded at Katy....a first Im told; they were true coaches and loved and cared her through the difficult decision to sell her first horse. Now, she leases her perfect partner from them and they are learning to be show jumpers together. I personally have gone through my own trials and tribulations career wise and wondered if I would even be able to keep my daughter riding through the hard times....because of the love they have for my girl....she never had to give it up. Admittedly, it can be tough love at times, but isnt that our kids need sometimes? Adults as well. There are no spoiled prima donna riders at NHHP as the English disciplines are reputed to be, especially by those who arent part of that world. They are disciplined riders who care for the whole horse, the trainers and barn owners are professionals who care for the whole student. They are taught responsibility, respect, hard work and team work. They are part of an elitist sport, they are taught what it takes to not only survive there, but to thrive there. I currently drive from Galveston Island for my daughter to take lessons at NHHP. I wouldnt do that if I didnt feel she was being taught good morals, discipline and respect. As long as were close enough....we will continue our loyal patronage to NHHP. AZMs Mom
