I have lived here far to long and I can honestly say its getting better. (Some of)The new management still mostly has the Your lucky I took time to talk to you attitude most of the time but things get done very promptly now.The maintenance crew is excellent compared to the past and requests are done promptly and in excess of expectations. My neighbors still complain about the management but thats not unusual and They still move some sketchy people in but its a business. It is much better than it has been and much closer to what it was when we moved in. You can feel safe about living here.
I love living at Sir Charles Court Apts.. Its a beautiful place, and management are very professional, friendly, helpful and have been great. They make all the difference. And compared to other places I have lived at in the past, they are the best. I would recommend living at Sir Charles Court Apts..
After trying to change garage units for over 60 days and working with multiple staff members with empty promises. Management decided it was in their best interest to market the garage unit my family wanted, instead of swapping it with our current one. The logic used was its not our problem they said, If you want, you can rent both and well prorate the bill IF we can rent the other garage. Not only did they tell me this, but added, I suggested to my manager to reduce the rates of unoccupied garage units. So they shouldnt be available for too long.So either A) Management was trying to leverage the situation against or B) Mocking me because the unit would most likely be rented sooner due to the lowered rates. We also tried to explain our neighbors large truck parked right in front of our garage makes it difficult to park. No response or notice was given to our neighbors in aid of our situation. If the complex was so confident in their ability to rent out the garage, why wouldnt they make an existing tenant happy and a future tenant happy by helping them both.Complex manager also brought up how she is now a home owner and been managing this location for over a decade. This has nothing to do with me or helping my situation. Now I can see why and understand the reason for so many poor reviews.I hope Sir Charles Ct property owners are aware of the team have in place and the community theyre debilitating.
Great place to live. Wonderful management.
Second day being moved in here my car gets towed. I have to pay 450$. Management who i thought was nice at first completely turned mean and didnt wanna talk when I asked questions. No first time warning nothing management obviously has a desl with the towing company but oh well I guess. 450$ towing expense FYI
We are the former tenant who occupied one of the apartment units. We lived there for two lease terms, paid our bills on time, left our 30 days notice. Took care of the apartment as best as we could. We have no pets, no kids, just two professional adults who peacefully lived there. When we moved out, we spent two days deep cleaning everything, returned everything the same we were given. We were expecting our full deposit minus ~$50 for a few needle holes. But no, we only got ~$32 of our security deposit. They took all our security deposits for all the illegitimate reasons. I contacted them thinking they might have made some sort of mistake but nope, they didnt. They seriously took all of our money. So unprofessional, so unjust and so snake-alike treatment from the sir Charles management. My advise to anyone who is currently renting at Sir Charles or will be renting at Sir Charles, consider your security deposit as sunk cost. When you are ready to move out, do NOT bother cleaning or returning anything to them. You WILL NOT get your security deposit either way so you might as well move out in peace and leave all your mess and trash behind. We never had this issue with any of our previous landlords and I have never left public reviews previously. This time, I had to let every other renters know what kind of landlord they are dealing with. These people are THIEVES.
DO NOT RENT AN APARTMENT HERE. I am a very sane and responsible renter and have never run into the issues that I have with any property manager/company ever. They attempted to raise our rent unexpectedly in the middle of a pandemic and continued to charge my roommate for pet rent after I (the pet owner) was removed off of the lease. This contradicted many phone conversations that I have had with staff as well as what was written in our lease agreement. When I asked about getting back the pet deposit and whether or not I would need to give written notice of my departure, they said no written notice was required on my part and that the pet rent would be removed after my departure. The pet rent was not removed after my departure and they were not able to cite any specific section of the lease agreement that stated written notice was required for the departure of the pet. They eventually refunded my former roommate after they realized they had no ground to stand on. If you do rent here I encourage you to record ALL phone conversations you have with staff because they will almost 100% back out of what they said. Get everyone’s name that you talk to as well. I’ve never written a review on anything, but felt so strongly that this rental company and its management are corrupt and money hungry, that I felt I needed to warn anyone considering renting from them. There are better apartments out there, do not settle for Sir Charles Court. On top of that the apartment complex is extremely noisy and they are always doing yard work (multiple times a week). Overall, the price of the apartment is not at all worth having to deal with incompetent staff and a crooked property manager. They do not act in good faith and are looking for any reason to overcharge you.
I havent ever had an issue with this complex. Ive signed 1 lease renewal so far and will probably continue to do so! The complex isnt loud (maybe it depends on what part of the complex you live in), and any noise during DAYTIME hours is completely fine. You have to accept the fact that you live in an apartment, dont like the noise then maybe apartment living isnt for you! You are sharing walls, ceilings/floors with your neighbors so expect some noise! As far as my situation Ive never had any problems with the leasing staff, they are always friendly any time Ive ever had to go in to the office. Maintenance always completes any work orders same day if possible and next day at the latest before Covid. The only complaint I do have is that people drive WAY too fast on the backside of the leasing office. There have been a few times when trying to back out of my parking spot that Ive almost got hit because I didnt see any cars coming when I started backing out and then out of nowhere a car is flying by. My neighbors car got hit while they were backing out and someone was flying by not paying attention. Thats my only concern with this complex.
We had stayed there a year back. Though apartments are bit old, they are spacious and value for money. The place is green, calm and quiet. There is small trails behind the apartment. Front desk staffs are very helpful.
I love this place!!!
I liked the apartment. My apartment was on the third floor. It was a one bedroom apartment. The maintenance stuff was good and were prompt to fix things. The leasing office people were also good and helpful. The neighborhood was quite. There is a really nice and beautiful trail just behind the apartment.
I am living here for more than a year now. The place is very nice, clean and peaceful. The office staffs are very courteous, efficient and friendly. 5 to 6 times I requested for maintenance, and got very quick responses for all of them. Last time i even received a feedback call from the office after maintenance was done, which is greatly appreciated. The experience I have here, so far, is far better than those of my colleagues and friends who live nearby; or even i stayed in an apartment opposite to Fred Meyers on Schendel Ave for couple of years prior to shifting here.
This place is louder than normal during the day. CONSTANT YARD WORK. DAY SLEEPERS BE WARNED! Why they can’t schedule all the construction and yard work for the same day is beyond me. But literally every day this week it has been impossible to rest.It is loud almost every day due to unsupervised children as well! BE CAREFUL DRIVING AROUND THE CHILDREN HERE! They will race in and out of lanes and try to beat your car around a corner, or follow you too closely to “shoot the gap” as you are in reverse!
This place is not as great as they want you to think. These companies spend more money, on improving, amenities, instead of improving their units. That way they can overcharge you for units that arent worth the money and hope youll just be so mesmerized by their amenities, and the great show given by their car sale men. Manny,That pretend to care if you, in fact, get a place. Sadly we told Manny, all errors that would have been on our report. We had documentation to prove all of our issues. No past debts, dismissal, as well as a reasonable accommodation letter from two witnesses, as well as willing to pay a double security deposit. But after almost 10 days of denials, lies about not being able to verify certain information, when we tried to submit all of it before the screening. Just shows no matter what we would have had or shown. The moment they saw we had a section 8 voucher, the answer was always going to be no. Sadly because of other peoples actions, addicts, domestic violence, etc. CTL management, are using petty screening criteria to make sure they dont have to rent to low-income people. It also seems they denied us because they knew, they wouldnt be able to pass a Housing Authority inspection. Makes me wonder how do they sleep at night hiding behind their leasing agents and screening companies? Manny was so nice to us, up to the moment he was supposed to call us back. They screen each others calls and lie about if there their or not. If they would deny us for a few late fees, and no owed property debt. Its safe to say they will deny anyone who makes less than $15 thousand a year.Hopefully, after we report this complex and their Texas-based screening company, to (fair housing) they will then make reasonable accommodations for people with disabilities and low income. Everyone who has a section 8 voucher, should not be frowned at or treated as if wed be a bad fit. Or dont deserve to have something nice. But this is a heartless complex. That clearly doesnt want to be bothered with people with low income, even if their voucher is a permanent program. Makes sense, you cant raise the rent on people with a voucher-like you can people working 3 jobs to live here. The best thing about this place is their amenities, but the apartments are old, and youre paying more for location and amenities than a good place to live. Until someone fights for those who have disabilities, companies like this will always use lies and loopholes to deny people of low income. If you have a section 8 voucher, dont bother with this apartment, or any apartment screened by CTL management.
I lived here for 3 years and the management was excellent. They came within a day whenever I needed any repairs. The grounds were well maintained and I got to know all my neighbors. Great location, great place to live.p.s. Left my place in good shape and got my refund back when I moved out.
Very inconvenient overpriced loud and NEVER any parking. Always blocking parking. They are scheduled to paint soon and I have a feeling they will block that too. Always dirty entryways and trash everywhere. Cant wait until lease is up. They dont care about their tenants at all.
Ive been for over a year and have been happy. The rents are reasonable and when the lease came up for renewal they didnt stick it to you. The facilities are well maintained and the staff have all been pleasant. The neighbors are quality and I havent had any concerns. If I had one complaint it would be about public transportation. It takes about 1.5 hours to get downtown.
Check out full review for update! Do not ever move here! The office does not enforce noise disturbances. They do not enforce parking rules. They do not keep up on landscaping maintenance. They are not good at returning phone calls. For the quality of the apartment the cost of rent is too high. It may look nice but deep down this Betty is ugly and falling apart. I still live here. The staff is nice but they dont enforce anything, so when you have rude neighbors your stuck with no way out, and no fix. Also, half the complex smells of curry. My neighbors are so strong that I can smell their digested curry in my bathroom while also smelling it cooking in the kitchen. Im constantly having to burn stuff to cover the smell. I know for sure I will be leaving when my lease is up. ****** UPDATE! 8/1/2014 It has been two months since this review and there have not been any changes. My neighbors are disrespect and intimidating and the leasing staff continues to say there is nothing we CAN or WILL do about it. My neighbors have never (even) received a noise complaint according to the leasing office.
I lived here for 2 years. When I first moved in the staff was great!! But about a year in there were new office staff... and I was never impressed...they were rude and ways seemed irritated when I went in there... its too expensive for what you get, neighbors are trashy and loud and management never did anything about it. Garbage was always over flowing.I put in my 30 notice. My last 3 weeks I didnt stay there and had moved out but I kept the keys... but yet I still had a twenty something water bill... I was charged $100 for cleaning, lies on the move out paperwork (I knew I should have been there!) Saying there were stains in the cupboards, food in the sink and on the hood... lies! I got back $134 of my $500 deposit.
Terrible customer service! Every single person I spoke with had absolutely no knowledge or reccomedations to help us through the process. Very unhappy with the level of service especially after this was highly recommended.
A worst management ever i seen in my life. Really unprofessional and there is no ethic. I would strongly recommend move away from this apartment. If you had given Security deposit, then forget it. Also they are not clear on what their rules say.. if you are thinking sublease, they make you to wait until last minute and make you to pay lease breakage. Never bring anyone to this apartment for sublease and they will convince them to sign for new lease.
Love the staff! They are quick to come repair if needed. They are very friendly and accommodating. Love you guys!
Its too early as i am just planning to move in but my initial feedback its a great place and package for what i am paying - liked the view design and inside. looking forward to a great 12 months aheadHope the team will look at some of the reviews by other residents fix it at the earlies and make Sir Charles court a great place to live
Liked my unit, but parking is the most aggravating part. Management should periodically post reminders to tenants to tell their visitors not to park on marked spot assigned to a paying tenant per contract agreement.
We have been living here for7 years the service is great, the rooms are nice, the location is outstanding, andthe value is good. Every thing is fab except our neighbors. they are the worst of all when they cook we have to smell their food (it smells terrible!!!!!!!!) when we have the door open.
I am moved out of a CTL Management property. I was always on time with payments and we never made a fuss about all the issues with the property being that we were only planning for a one year stay. However, we made multiple maintenance requests to fix our sliding door latch. The maintenance staff would make a repair and the door latch would act up a 1-2 days later. We lived in a downstairs unit and there was a perpetual mud patch that was disgusting. Landscapers avoided the mud patch and trash, leaves, etc. would gather in the muck. The apartments feel cheap in almost every way: white walls with beige switch and socket plates, cheap slider doors, corroded sink fixtures, flimsy cabinetry, and the like. The walls were thin enough to hear the details of our neighbor’s sex life. We heard the entire family stomping around from 7am-10pm. We don’t hold anything against our neighbors. However, I asked the office staff if there was anything we could do and they said we could talk with our neighbors. The staff could not do anything to change the amount of noise. Most people I talked to in the apartments mentioned having the same issues.Twice we have had issues with they’re payment app “Resident.” One time we were charged a double rent check which took more than one week for CTL to reimburse.AT LONG LAST, we moved out and we’re expecting auto-pay to withdraw only the amount that we were prorated. Instead, we were charged the full cost of rent. I have spoken with the staff at the apartments, sent an email with necessary documents proving we were overcharged, and we have not been reimbursed. We are waiting and CTL Management owes us money. The staff at this particular complex is very friendly, but they have their hands tied and have been unable to help. I was given the number to collections but calls go directly to a voicemail. I recommend that anyone looking at a CTL Managed property reconsider.
Clean, quiet. Friendly, efficient staff. Quick response on a couple of minor repairs.
One of the worst apartment I lived.I stayed there for 3 years. There are so many issues here.1. Appartment are very old and amenities are in very poor conditions. They always give lot of problem.2.Lots of theft take place.Things get stolen from your patio.3.Mold in every roomEven if you clean mold,It will come again and again every room.My family felt lots of health issue because of mold.4.When you moved it, Management is very nice but when you leave it appartment charges for everything even though there apartment are not in good shape.so I request you not to move in this appartment
Amazingly greedy owners/management (CTL management).Office staff is friendly and polite, but doesnt always take the initiative. When I first moved there, with kids 4 and 6 years old, they have me a parking space 50 yards away that required crossing the street/driveway. When I complained, Sorry. Even though there was a spot available 10 yards away next to my apartment. If you have a problem, maintenance is good at getting there a fixing it, but then they dont clean up after themselves.I would not recommend SCCA. I would look around and no matter which apartments you choose, know what you are paying for. Ask about extra charges or other requirements.I dont know the financial arrangement between CTL managment and YES (which provides water, sewage and garbage), but count on paying $50 more per month (total) for those items. I guess that CTL either gets a kickback or there is some sort of common ownership so they can gouge the renters a little more every month. This year they are requiring insurance. Guess what? They can provide it. More money for the greed heads.Swimming pool is nearly always cold.
This is the worst place to rent to much noise, bad service and they are some immature people there. I advised anyone to rent somewhere else you could get better everything somewhere else for the same price.
Convenient location, quite neighborhood, pool hot tub.
The office staff is lazy, rude and incompetent. Everything from moving in to checking to see if I have a package has been an issue.
Helpful staff
