I LOVE living here! Not only are the grounds spectacular -- you feel as if the well-kept buildings are nestled inside a gorgeous protected wetland with countless patches of forests and ponds BECAUSE THEY ARE! -- but the people who keep it looking beautiful are top notch. Ive had very few issues while living here, but whenever I have to reach out, the maintenance crew addresses those issues quickly and competently. And the management is lovely and responsive. As someone who works from home, it is important to me that my apartment is a place of peace and tranquility, and SOFI at Murrayhill is just that. This place is a joy.
Just moved to Beaverton from Spokane, WA! Christin, the property manager at this complex has worked with us every step of the way while we settle into the new area and the community. She has been an absolute doll, so much care and compassion- exactly who you’d hope to pick up the phone at your apartment complex. From the beginning they have been understanding and willing to work with us. Beautiful pool perfect for having some friends over on a hot day and natural wetlands are a joy to walk the dog around in.
Been living here since May this year. The apartments are great, the staff is great, maintenance is responsive, everyone is friendly, and it just feels so safe and cozy.Im knocking off one star though because the visitor parking is horrible. Its literally two stretches of parking on the driveway in and again partway through the complex. Theres maybe a couple dozen spots and its incredibly rare that one is available, and even if one is, I hope your visitor is good at parallel parking, because thats all they get.Because of COVID, thats not so much of a problem right now (having people over? Ha), but if were still living here when things get back to normal, I still dont expect were going to have people over much.
This apartment complex has been amazing! First off, my initial interaction with the leasing staff was great. Everyone I talked to was very nice and had all the answers to my questions. I mainly talked with Jessica, who was WONDERFUL, and occasionally someone else would be on staff at the office and they were just as great! I have waited to write a review until my husband and I moved in and got settled. Now that we have, I can say that this place is even better than we thought! We ended up signing for our apartment without physically seeing it due to COVID restrictions, so we were a little nervous about what to expect, but everything was even better than we imagined from seeing the place via Google Duo video. Although we havent been able to enjoy all the amenities this place offers (due to COVID) they have all been kept clean and ready for re-open whenever that is allowed. The staff has stayed great and responsive when we had questions after move in so it wasnt like other places where they are really nice just to get you in and then forget about you after. Overall, I could keep going on about all the great things Sofi at Murrayhill has to offer, but you should just come and see for yourself!
We moved here from another state. The property manager was extremely helpful in holding some of our packages ahead of time and ensuring our key was available for a smooth transition. Once we arrived 6 months ago, we have been blessed with their kindness and attention. They treat us like family. I want to give a shout out to one of their maintenance technicians, Corey. We needed something looked at, he came by after hours just to ensure wed be taken care of. Our neighborhood is safe and pet friendly. I love our neighbors who take the time to greet us and our pets. We have no issues with parking and there are always spaces opened. There is a nice hot spa that is opened in the winter time. It is such a treat. They have holiday get togethers for the whole community and events. The location is perfect; we have the best schools nearby. There is so much to love; there is no room for disappointment here!
Last week, the shower broke, hot water comes rapidly out of the bottom spout, exhausting the water heater within a couple of minutes, while hot water does not come out of the shower head (as well as a 24/7 leak). I put in a maintenance request on Sunday, I waited to hear back on monday (nothing), waited to hear back on tuesday (nothing again). I called and left a message tuesday evening (phone was not answered even when still they were still), and still as of wednesday afternoon had heard nothing back about the shower being broken. I call the office and Kristin, as usual, answers. The first thing she says is that does not qualify as an urgent work order, and therefore because of covid, we are not able to send someone out to fix it. She tells me, because my roommate has a shower, that MY broken shower does not qualify as urgent, and because it is not urgent, it cannot be fixed. She cannot even give me a general date, she essentially told me that they dont plan on ever fixing the shower so it is usable, and not leaking. It was not until I demanded to speak to a higher up that I was put on hold and after 10 minutes she finally came back saying she would send people out. This took 20 minutes of needlessly antagonistic conversation with Kristin, all the while her being unbelievably condescending, callous, and plain rude. If it wasnt for me pushing this as hard as I did, and if Kristin had her way, I would have no working shower for an open ended length of time. Absolutely, beyond unbelievable.
The Sofi team here has made my life here extremely enjoyable.Whitney is always with a smile and has handled my initial move in to make the transition smooth. She is a top notch manager. It feels more like home when I go in for a package and before I can ask, she has it waiting at the desk! Not to mention she makes billing a breeze.Christin recently assisted with my lease renewal and I could not have picked a better day to go to the office. Not only was she thorough with the new lease agreement and keeping me informed on the changes, but she was professional and kind when I had questions. Any sort of issues arise and she immediately solves it. A key Sofi manager!Phil the groundskeeper/exterior maintenance/maintenance employee is always on the move. His hard work and dedication to this property is why we get to enjoy the amenities so much. You get to see the quality of his work every single day.Corey the maintenance lead continues to hustle daily. I’ve had multiple minor maintenance calls for my apartment and it seems like the very next day he or his employees are there to complete the job with quality and care.Jody has been so helpful with assisting with the day to day around here and has emphasized why Sofi is such a great place to live. Any issue you have and she will handle it, period.Thank you guys for everything!
Coming from a resident whos lived here for years, im extremely happy with the work that the Sofi Murrayhill employees do to keep this place great.I cannot express how helpful Christin and Whitney are when it comes to any questions or concerns i have and they always get back to me in a timely manner. Its even enjoyable when i see them in passing, always smiling and waving with a cart full of tourists. Theyre very hard workers and overall really great people.Corey, the lead maintenance tech has helped me out countless times and can fix anything under the sun as far as im aware. Hes professional and friendly and always comes prepared for the task at hand. A very hard worker and Ive had nothing but great experiences with dealing with him in my apartment.I always see Phil, the exterior maintenance/ groundskeeper working hard on a day to day basis always making sure the property looks spotless on the outside. Its a pleasure exchanging waves with him as he cruises by in his golf cart. Hes a hard worker and a downright great man.Jody has also been a pleasure to deal with when shes in the office. always in a good mood and very proactive with whatever task she handles.Overall, Ive been the happiest Ive ever been while living at Sofi. Not only do these people make my life so much easier, but its a joy to see them and talk to them as friends.
So this was a great place to live at first. I love the apartments with the add on garage and the staff is for the most part friendly. I even left a 5 star review to begin with. But man... This place takes pride in screwing their tenants over with their tow system.. Not only does this place have no parking for guests but they look for any reason to steal your car and hold it for ransom. I parked my car in front of my own garage (with the door up) for 30 minutes and they towed me and charged me over 300 dollars. This was one of the worst experiences. I felt black mailed. I didnt do a single thing wrong.. No negotiation for being a human and running in to put a few things away before pulling in my vehicle. Do not live here. You will be 1000 dollars in tow bills in no time.
I have lived at Sofi at Murrayhill for 2 1/2 years. Im not going to lie...it was brutal for a long time. The management provided preferential treatment to some residents, but not others; the maintenance staff was unresponsive; and the apartment was in poor condition upon move-in. About a year ago, new management and some new maintenance were put in place, and its like living in a completely different complex. Whitney (the assistant manager) is courteous, warm, and responsive. The manager is the same; she is always willing to take the time to speak with residents, and the clubhouse staff never makes you feel less than important. I have had several maintenance issues arise recently, and Corey and Kim were amazing! They were quick, efficient, and even pointed out something that had been aesthetically bothering me since move-in and offered to take care of it. Mind you, this was an issue that when I complained about when we moved in, I was told to just write it down on the move-in sheet. We cant do anything about it.I have read the other reviews, and while I cant attest to the parking issue (I requested a parking spot when we applied for the apartment), I can say that this complex has done a 180 since we moved in. Just like people, companies also deserve a second chance, and I personally believe they have earned it! Thank you, Sofi at Murrayhill!
I spoke with Whitney on the phone regarding a 1 bedroom apartment and she was so helpful and informative. She sent me all the information I need to make a decision. Sofi ay Murrayhill sounds like a great place to live.
Sofi at Murrayhill doesnt care about you as a resident. They especially dont care about their senior residents who struggle daily from mental illness. Please dont fall for their fake compassion and fake empathy. Money is their main concern. If you want to be treated with respect, DO NOT move to Sofi at Murrayhill. If you want your residency to matter, DO NOT move to Sofi at Murrayhill.
Tried applying at this location on a great recommendation from a friend who lives there and I was treated lower than low and Grayson was rude and condescending both times I spoke with him. Im glad I didnt get to live here!
I have been living here since October 2017. I like the location and having an attached garage. Neighbors are nice and nice community activities every now and then.I gave it four stars because parking is a pain. I cant have people over or use the garage for the extra stuff. To be fair the new management are attentive and always on top of everything. They are trying to change and improve things all the time.My experience at this place has excellent but the parking.
The mantaince staff is high quality and puts in a lot of effort. The location of the apartment is great and so is the nature around the complex and that is where the positive review ends. The claim they are non smoking but after a few dozen smoking complaints of people smoking in their apartment NOTHING happened. The apartments have poor ventilation and running the dishwasher turns the entire place in a sauna. Other minor inconveniences include : the apartments do not have microwaves, the kitchen vents dont take the smell anywhere, parking is a nightmare, and they will charge you an extra months rent even after your lease is up without 30 day written notice. Finally they sent my account to collections after it was paid in full and would not respond back for their reasoning.
I’m so extremely disappointed with this place. My aunt just moved in 3 days ago and since she could not get an assigned parking spot due to only one person on the lease she must park in her garage, but with just moving into a place a lot of boxes and furniture are still in the garage so we parked her one car in visitor parking thinking that was good since we were NEVER told different or told anything regarding visitor parking. The car has been towed and no one ever notified us as we found out when we were leaving with the car. The office staff was very unhelpful regarding the situation and says the 400.00 cost is our responsibility. I could have parked her car across the street where I live if I knew this would happen. Plus when I try to drive over there is ZERO spaces for visitor parking.

I showed up and waited for 10 minutes while the employees talked on the phone and avoided eye contact with me. Once I decided to take a seat at their desk. they got off the phone and acknowledged me. Jessica I think her name was. didnt know any of the answers to my questions she mustve been new. she acted annoyed that she had to take time out of her day to talk to me then said she could show me an apartment. She showed me an apartment which seemed old and dingy. The rooms were too terribly small but hey, it comes with an attached garage. She described everything as nice. Literally Everything she only used the word nice so she was either in a bad mood or she didnt believe in the product she was selling. Aside from that, the club house was gorgeously designed and Im a little disappointed that the apartments didnt seem to get as much care as their offices.
Future residents and visitors beware: they will tow your car if you are parked 1 hr past in the 24hr visitors parking. Speaking to the tow company dispatcher they caught my car there one morning at approximately 1:30a, they towed it the next morning at 2:55a. Theres no respect from the tow company or the office. We have never had ANY issues with them before and they did not care at all, they just wanted my money and my car out of their spot. To clarify, I have a parking spot I pay for, but I had bought a car so the car I was borrowing from a friend that got towed I had to park in a visitors spot until I could return it that Sunday when that friend got back into town.
I did not have a pleasant experience with this company, nor staff. I do not recommend these apartments at all.Staff seemed to be generally annoyed at my request to view the apartments.I was given incorrect move-in dates upon application, again upon handing over deposit and proof of income.I was quoted a deposit amount, instructed to pay online, by what was represented online was different than what was quoted, so I was to turn it in physically. When I received the lease documents, the move-in date had been altered, 3 weeks later than what was originally quoted. I alerted staff to the issue. Waited 4 days, no reply, went in to speak with someone. When I was finally able to was told by staff that I was lucky someone had caught this for me (though I was the one who caught it). And then was told I couldnt have the apartment I had on hold, and that computer glitches happen all the time, dropped calls happen all the time, and we move on. Just move the date of your move out with your current land lord.I requested my money back and went elsewhere following that interaction.
UPDATE July 2018: New Manager!!!Im happy (and a little sad, since we just moved out) to say that they have a new manager, Christin, who ACTUALLY RESPONDS TO YOUR EMAILS! She is very prompt, kind and helpful. I wish she would have been running the show while we lived there, but Im very happy that we got to work with her in our move out process. No, the parking isnt any better. Its still atrocious. Thats just how it is. But I could have put up with it had the management been awesome, and now it is. Give this place a try, its rather pretty and the amenities are nice. And Christin is awesome.UPDATE: DO NOT MOVE HERE.They lie. They told me I would get a parking spot, I had to fight tooth and nail to get it. They told me I could use my in window air conditioner, then they threaten to fine me for noncompliance for having it after 3 people told me it was ok.This place is extremely unprofessional, I NEVER get my calls returned, no one responds to my emails, I have to go in for everything because they dont have the decency to reply.Seriously, run away! The only reason they have a few positive reviews is they BEG people (put stickers on every package thats delivered to the office, ask repeatedly in emails) for good reviews. They told us wed get a parking spot, and only AFTER we signed the lease we were told we could get on a wait list, and they refused to tell me how long the list was.I hate the management here. I have lived in a lot of apartments, and I have NEVER had such a miserable time or dealt with such dishonest, unorganized and rude people.
I’ve been here for about 6 months and every month the office has somehow managed to make paying for rent extremely difficult. The parking is awful, you have to squeeze past other cars and also avoid hitting the parked cars all along the road. The entire place needs a deep cleaning and all the appliances fixed. My toilet doesn’t flush properly and will always leave things afterwards. You usually have to flush it twice. The shower doesn’t drain so you’ll be standing in water up to your ankles and on top of that the material in the bathtub is coming up so the floor is wrinkly and is just waiting to be ripped open. The dishwasher doesn’t wash and will actually leave residue on your dishes so you shouldn’t be surprised to have to hand wash everything afterwards. All in all, this place is falling apart and the management is absolutely useless.
After reading through a lot of reviews here I decided to post my own and share my experiences. The complex is very clean, well maintained, buildings are a little old but kept in good condition. The grounds are well kept with routine maintenance and care from a landscaping contractor. Parking is terrible, but this is obvious when looking at the complex online. The complex website, Google maps, and an in person visit make the lack of space to park very clear. Each apartment comes with an attached garage for parking and storage (not just storage) with the option to pay monthly for an extra spot in the lot.The office staff is always present and I have never had any troubles with them. Any issues are resolved quickly, with management and general staff getting involved as necessary for a quick and workable solution. I have never been lied to, deceived, made to wait unduly, and have never been treated poorly by any of the staff in the office. Maintenance is always completed in a timely fashion and with no issues. The maintenance personnel are also very friendly and helpful.I have lived in this complex for four plus years now through multiple management companies. The current management is amazing and has always gone above and beyond to make sure I am happy and satisfied with my living experience.Do your research, ask questions, record answers, be diligent and consider sofi at Murrayhill if you prefer more landscape with less parking lot, a helpful staff, and polite neighbors at a reasonable rate for such a nice suburban area.I only post reviews when something greatly over or under performs, this complex is an overachiever without a doubt! Read negative reviews with a healthy dose of skepticism. All those not so smart people we interact with out in the world have to live somewhere too...
Great community and a great staff at the leasing office. The units are all very nice, its definitely worth the money. Great amenities and you are close to everything you need.
Seems like a nice place; however, there is never any parking when you go to visit. Must be hard for the people who live there. I noticed as I drove around, a lot of garages open and they all seemed to be used for storage and not parking. How sad 😢
Living at Sofi for the past two years was probably one of the best at least that part makes experiences of my life. Staff was always very nice. I dont know why people are giving you guys such a bad rap. I would have extended my stay if the rent wasnt too expensive. But but I really enjoyed the time that I spent at Sofi. Your guyses rent ever goes down really low Ill be return visitor!
I have lived here for almost three years and yes, parking can be difficult. People complain about getting towed but if you dont park in a red zone, double park, or stay in a 24 Hour slot more than 24 hours, your car doesnt get touched. My boyfriend comes over every weekend and, more often then not, we have a spot. Its really not a big deal.Ive lived in a couple apartments and honestly this is the best one.The maintenance staff actually cares. I only submitted a complaint once and they rectified it within 24 hours - the manager even reached out after maintenance fixed the issue to apologize. The only reason I knocked off a star is because the walls are a little thin (but thats apartment living) and the central heating system is not very efficient. I feel like this place gets bad reviews because of the parking and people getting towed but again, follow the rules and read the signs.
Two stars for the quiet beauty of the grounds.I have lived here off and on for over 10 years. Ive seen some things.Parking is horrendous. They hire Retriever Towing (read those reviews) to come harass the people living here. My sons father was nearly run over by their truck when they were towing him. He had his hazards on to run my son up to me. The driver blew through the stop sign on Barrows. BEWARE. They do not care and they are not careful of others.I rented and paid for the main clubhouse for my baby shower in 2016 and there was nowhere to park and the staff was not helpful. My dad ended up getting towed while temporarily parked in the handicap spot because he was helping my (handicapped) elderly family member into the party. LOVELY.I should feel safe where I live. I do not feel safe while they employ companies like Retriever Towing. Especially when I see them out there marking cars, taking pictures, etc. This should be a safe place. Figure out your parking SOFI and get people to use their garages.Takes forever to get maintenance done and they will raise your rent 9.9% every time, unless you do your research. They tried to raise the rent over 10% and when we cited that they were offering the same apartment on craigslist for $200 cheaper and it was updated (unlike ours), they reduced it.I am moving soon, thank goodness. I will genuinely miss the willow tree and seeing the wildlife. I will not miss the stress of wondering if I parked JUST right as to not get towed.Oh and the new Manager is 100% better than the others Ive had to deal with. So that is good.
This place isnt awful like people are saying, but its definitely not great either.Huge downsides: Parking is absolutely terrible. I didnt have an assigned spots for months, and visitor parking is always full (with residents).Staff was okay. Theyre pretty bad at returning calls or emails. No one was super friendly and they dont really seem to care about you. Not rude by any means, though.Upsides:The grounds are nice. Its pretty to walk around the facility. The pool, hot tub, and gym are a nice add on as well.
Weve lived here for a few months now. This is my first time living in apartments and I think Sofi at Murray Hill has a beautiful back drop to the apartment community with well manicured trees and nature. Despite a couple of maintenance issues, they addressed our concerns and corrected them in a timely manner. I am giving the apartments 3 stars because of the AWFUL parking situation. Despite being on the waiting list for a spot that we will have to PAY additional money for, we see vacant reserved parking spots open all night in front of our apartment. I dont know what the disconnect is here but there are literally multiple spots open 24 hours a day right outside out apartment that should be reassigned. I should never have to come home at 4pm on a Saturday and be unable to find parking. Am I just not supposed to go home?? Its ridiculous.
Honestly the worst living experience Ive ever had. Super high turn over in the office so nothing ever gets done. Forget trying to get ahold of maintenance. Neighbors are super inconsiderate and the walls are paper thin. You can literally hear your neighbors having a conversation. Parking is impossible. Expect to wait 6 months before you get an assigned spot. When your lease ends and you have given your notice; dont expect to hear from management ever again. All they do is collect your keys and ask for a forwarding address. No final walkthrough whatsoever. The only positive thing about these apartments is having a washer and dryer in your apartment. Dont waste your hard earned money on these overpriced apartments.
We were all set to move in ther TOMORROW. Come to find out, on our contract, they wanted us to sign an asbestos waiver. No thanks. It definitely wasn’t disclosed to us when we went to tour. Also, when we went to look, there was no parking so they told us to park in the fire lane with our emergency flashers on. Red flag right there. They also never showed us pictures of what our place would look like. Definitely a learning lesson for us! And we didn’t sign the lease, so I told them we weren’t moving in. Sketchy right from the start.
I moved from almost 3000 sq. ft. to 600 and change. I had some issues to say the least. Monica and her staff took care of all of them. They are knowledgeable and fast at resolving your problems.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! If I could rate it any lower than a 1-star, I would in a heartbeat. I lived here a little over a year, and it was the WORST rental experience of my life, especially when it came to moving out.First, I lived in a unit with a garage; however, my garage was right next to one of the maintenance garages. The maintenance constantly parked IN FRONT of my garage, so at least once a week, I could not get into or out of my garage, making me late to work or appointments on multiple occasions. When I tried to complain, management disregarded my concerns and treated me like a nuisance.Secondly, I work nights as a nurse, and while living there, the management came into my unit at least once a week for “maintenance” or other updates they deemed necessary. The problem was, you are not given any specific time or date when they will be entering your unit. Instead, you are given a 2 day window between 9am-5pm in which they will enter. You CANNOT change your date/time or reschedule, and if you don’t allow them it when they come, you are charged ridiculous fees for it.Finally, my biggest issue was they illegally increased my rent (to almost double) during my current lease period, which I attempted to resolve with management. Monica, the manager, is HORRIBLE. I ultimately decided to move out as a result, then they tried illegally keeping large portions of my deposit. They actually had the audacity to double charge me for utilities my last month there. When I attempted to contact them regarding the discrepancy, they ignored me for over 2 weeks. I finally had to reach out the the area VP for Pinnacle Living, who resolved the situation and ensured my deposit was rightfully returned. My recommendation.... move anywhere but Sofi!!!
DON’T DO IT! RUN!No parking and the office staff sucks too.
My husband and I have been only living here for a couple of months, but have been very pleased with Monica (the property manager) and with the maintenance staff! We had an issue and a miscommunication, and after speaking with Monica, she immediately took care of it and sent over Isaac from maintenance to solve our issue!
Horrible place! I had to break the lease early because it was way too small for one I couldn’t even sit a whole bedroom set or living room set! For 1300+ a month for 550sq ft! Wow and not to mention I waited everyday since my last day for the break lease fee to show up on my account to pay right away & showed up one day the next it was gone! I emailed the management to see what was going on & they had sent it to collections the very next day! What in the world!??? I highly don’t recommend this place to anyone!
Literally one of the worst places I’ve ever lived. They keep having me towed. Once because I was in a “24 hour” spot (I was towed at 25 hours) and now because I was in a an assigned space that that unassigned to anyone, because there’s no where to park. I asked for an assigned space when I moved in, and they said they’d put me on a wait list, yet there’s a million spots just sitting there. And guess what? When I went out this morning there were cars parked in all the empty spots because there’s NO WHERE ELSE TO PARK.
To many ppl complain about management maintenance on site. With out really knowing what they go through on a day to day. Before complaining maybe take the time to do some Light maintenance in your own apartment and change your own light bulb change your own battery to the fire detector it does not matter where you go people will always complain about some partment complex for whatever reason people are just never happy and satisfied and the problem is theyre on happy within themselves get a shrink
This was hands down the worst place I have ever lived in the 9 years I have lived in the Portland-Metro area. They will do their absolute best to take as much money from tenants and will absolutely rip you off from your deposit. There were only 3 breakers running the outlets and lights and they went out frequently with just having a tv and heater on (this was in the brand new remodeled apartment). The paint was tacky weeks after move in and so it stuck onto things that ripped off the paint and we were charged $100 convenience fee to repaint. Theres wood rot through out the outside sills and balcony. Not to mention we were given $1000 fee for replacing the carpet due to wear in high traffic areas. Theres no parking if you ever want people to visit and the garage/space nightmare is a joke. No one regulates the garage parking so people do whatever they want. The water bill you will receive is ridiculous as they have you pay based on how high the bill was, spread out across all the apartments and how many people in each apartment. Watch your money go down the drain (literally) everytime someone washes their car or they have to refill the pool. These people are crooks and they jacked up the rent $300 from just a year ago and they have done nothing but push an extra thick layer of paint and some cheap carpet. Please dont waste your money and go somewhere else.
So get this. This place only allows one parking spot per apt. If you have two vehicles you must park in your attached garage. Fine, makes sense, I have no issue with that. What I do take issue with is they make you place a sticker on the vehicle you park in the garage, to be towed if found outside the garage. SO, this means if you would like to park your own car in YOUR OWN (assigned) parking space it will be towed without question. You CANNOT swap the vehicle in the garage with the one assigned to the parking space for any legitimate reason you may have. YOU WILL BE TOWED! Are these people retarded or is this criminal activity partnered with the towing company. It must be one or the other. We should be allowed to use our assigned and paid for parking spot for any vehicle we own or park offsite and allow a guest to use our spot. If we pay for it we should have the right to decide which vehicle can be there. Not the towing company. Is this even legal? Seems like a lawyer for a tenant might be able to raise hell with this place and the towing company (Titan). Hmm.
My wife and I lived here for a year and I do not recommend it..yes it is a very pretty area, but these apartments are horrible. Parking is very limited mostly in the afternoon/weekends. Parallel parking is required and some people struggle with it, so my car now has scratches from other people hitting it while trying to park. If you have any maintenance issues you will find yourself constantly reminding the staff about the issue until they finally decide to send someone to fix it.
Apartments are nice. Its a quite clean complex. However the staff here is horrible! Save yourself the hassle as other apartments near by have the same quality apartment and professional trained staff.
I have lived at this property for seven years. In that time I have seen management change hands once, and oh what a difference a new attitude makes. In the past, it was like pulling teeth trying to fix something that needed fixing. If I want something done now, i.e., fixing the tile in the bathroom, I talk to the Assistant Property Mgr., Whitney Cline, or one of our excellent Leasing Consultants, Alexis Garewal or Evette Lopez, and I know my issue will be fixed right away. Today I spent a half-hour making small talk with Whitney and Alexis, just because they’re a pleasure to talk to. No other reason. If you’re in the market for a new home, SOFI @ Murrayhill is definitely worth considering. The property is beautiful, there’s a great variety of floor plans to choose from and many of the apt’s have been newly renovated. Best of all, the staff is always friendly, professional and more than willing to help with any problem and/or answer any questions you may have.
I went in mid-day on a Friday to see if they had any time for a tour of the community as I was looking for a 1 bedroom apartment for 3-4 weeks away. Right away I was greeted with little to no enthusiasm. I stated that I was looking for an apartment and was wondering if they had time for a tour. Without even asking what I was looking for or when, she said I dont have any apartments to show. I was surprised she didnt even want to show me the model, and when I asked about the community amenities, she told me they had a pool which could be seen from the parking lot. After being made to feel like I was a nuisance by wanting to rent there, I asked if she knew if she had any units available for the time I was looking for. I was told that I could find all of their availability online and that once I saw one I liked then I could apply there, without having seen the community or apartments. I promptly left after that, which was disappointing because from the outside it looked nice but the treatment made me feel like I was rude to think they could show me a place since I was looking to rent soon. All around I cant say how their apartments are but I can say that their service sucks and if thats how they treat someone that was willing to rent and get signed into a contract with them, I can only imagine how they treat the people who already live there.
Absolutely the worst place I have ever lived!! please for your sake DO NOT LIVE HERE!!! please read the only two positive posts and you can tell they are under anonymous users and probably generated from the office.let me first start by saying I lived here for three and half years and had literally all the same problems as all the other tenants parking, poor management, lack of proper repairs, etc. There really is mold everywhere and the apartment complex is fully aware of it if you dont believe me on every maintenance cart they have there is a bottle of mold cleaner, perhaps good practice or cover up.At least three times my billing for utilities came with the rest of the rent bill and then two weeks after everything was paid I would receive a secondary bill stating that there was a mistake and I would owe a additional x amount. This bill would also have to be paid by a time that was lacking since it was there mistake. The assistant manager is A JOKE she has no idea what she is doing and if you question her she becomes rude and completely unprofessional. regardless of whether or not you have valid points. For the amount of money these luxury Apartments are asking the maintenance should be spot on however you can expect to call at least for times for the same problem. Although I will say the maintenance was always friendly there repairs often lacked a level of professional technicality and overall looked DIY. They have two hot tubs of which only one works all the time and when they break down they are down for a time that is not satisfactory for the price paid for these apartments. Not to mention the pool is seriously the neighborhood pool so expect to pay for it but never get a seat.Every time your lease is up expect to see your monthly rate go up. If google allowed less then one star I would rate it lower this place in my opinion is the worst in the area and in no way worth it save yourself DO NOT MOVE IN HERE!!
Super sweet and helpful staff!!! The grounds of the property are very pretty and well maintained and very convenient to lots of restaurants and grocery stores.
Lived here for a year, had no issues with the staff, the grounds, or maintenance. However, the apartment I lived in was on the first floor and it was dark, dank, moldy, and the porch would flood when it rained. The appliances are nice and new, yes, but the apartment itself and insulation was OLD and needed to be replaced. The online payment system never worked, so I always had to pay with a check. When I moved out, I left the place cleaner than it was when I moved in. I had no pets, no damage, and cleaned it top to bottom, the walk through man said no issues or charges when I left. Months later, they tried to charge me to replace the entire carpet due to large pet urine stains. I had no pet in that apartment the entire time I lived there, the carpet was old and just needed to be replaced so they thought they could pin the charge on me. HA. Asked to speak to the general manager and had things cleared up, however, was disappointed I paid as much money as I did to live in a place that was not up-to-par.
I WAS FORCIBLY SILENCED DUE TO THREATS FROM MANAGING COMPANY AND SEVERE HARASSMENT.I HIGHLY ENCOURAGE CURRENT RESIDENTS TO CHECK THEIR BILLS AND LEASES, SINCE MY EXPERIENCE SHOWS, THAT THEY HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OF LAWS OR MATH, BUT THEY BELIEVE, THEY CAN DO WHATEVER THEY WANT TO INNOCENT PEOPLE.I PERSONALLY LOST MY HEALTH HERE DUE SEVERE HARASSMENT AND CONSTANT HUMILIATION FROM MANAGEMENT. I HAVE LIVING EXPERIENCE IN 4 DIFFERENT COUNTRIES, BUT I NEVER EXPERIENCED SO MUCH HATE AND UNJUSTICE, AND DIRECT BULLING, AS HERE.
01-04-2019 UPDATE!!:Well, its been just about a month since I received the move out invoice and they have already sent it to collections. Which, I knew would come about eventually because they told me they couldnt accept payments, but the collection company could. So anyways, the very first call I receive is from a man at the agency. I tell him that I am unable to pay the entire amount and dont feel that I owed it all since some of the charges felt like they were unnecessary, and could he send me something in writing about setting up a payment plan and maybe a lower final bill.(Which I also told the Sofi manager and she said that she hoped I did because she agreed it was a high bill and was sorry for the circumstances surrounding the break) However, telling him this was difficult as he proceeded to yell and talk over me, telling me that he will not send me anything in writing or a settlement (which we all know agencies offer after non-payment for some time) and that I have to pay starting right now. I finally got a word in and mentioned the reason I had to break it in the first place, because my father died and I had to move my mom in with me and needed a bigger place, he literally told me I dont care about your circumstance, you signed a contract and since it sounds like you dont want to pay it we will start the process and just come GET YOUR MONEY.WOW. I think this says a lot about Sofi if this is the company they hire to handle their past residents. I am incredibly saddened that people have no empathy for people who are doing the best they can with what they have.STAY AWAY!!! I was here almost 2 years and they have had 3 managers in that time. The first told me he was hungover from a coke binge while I was picking up my keys. Called me 3 days later because they forgot to have me sign the lease. Yup. Keys for 3 days with no lease signed. Second manager was a trip. She had no idea how things worked and would pick and choose who could do what. I had to take my bamboo down, but the apartment around the corner, that had the same bamboo, didn’t. She’d site things in the lease they weren’t there and lie when called out on it. Just for starters. Don’t know much about the third except she is overly friendly trying to clean up the mess from the others. Although she oversees the move out process, which I just endured.Move out charges were ridiculous. Charged me for things they would have fixed had I called them in. And then blamed the government regulations for th coast.Parking is a joke. Maintenance was a joke. I waited weeks for things to get fixed and they didn’t offer weekends. Which Monica said no apartments had weekend maintenance. Well, once she left, Sofi decided to do weekend maintenance. So happy to have moved. Do not recommend this place. I saw about 7 apartments moving out in about a week before I moved out. Says a lot of you ask me! Rent is also way high for what you get. Go rent the newer places around Sofi for a little bit more- it’s worth it.
If I could give this place a negative star I would. If you like to get screwed over and be taken advantage of then this my friend is the place for you. I full heartily regret moving to this place. Nothing but problems with this place. The appliances dont work, washer and dryer are old, and the garage door constantly gets stuck. Lol and dont let me get started with management; they are nothing but a joke. They wine and dine you in order for you to move in, but once you are in dont expect them to care about you. -1/10 for sure. You have been warned.
My wife & I want to thank Whitney for her care & concern with us about our lease. We were treated with respect for our problem & her consideration was greatly appreciated.Terry & Maryanna Bellan
Run away from this place. The negative reviews about the parking situation are all true. There is no available parking for family or visitors. Just got towed within 20 minutes while dropping off the kids. Disgusting, sleazy, stealth towing practice going on to collect $400 a pop.
When we visited for a tour and up to the day we signed the lease, the staff was very friendly. Later on, I believe they replaced the staff. And Im sorry to say this but your staff is terrible. I would come in to the office, and they would make me feel like Im bothering them. Sorry that you have to get off your phone to help me.
This place is horribleThe apartment we were assigned looked nothing like the model apartment (cleanliness wise). There were stains on the walls, stains on the ceilings, and almost all of the wall outlets were loose and/or crooked. Rent is INSANE even for Portland. We paid $1280 for 800sq ft!?!They were going to raise the rent $340 once our lease was up too!!Parking is horrible, their assigned parking system is a joke... there is never any visitor parking available so you can never have company over.

I visit regularly and always have difficulty finding parking. Not just in the complex but within the surrounding areas as well. You cannot even park on the public streets surrounding the property. We have 2 cars, one for a work vehicle and one for personal use, and they will not assign us a second spot because They encourage tenants to have only one car encouraged or not, people NEED their parking spots! We left on a trip for a few days and came back to find our car had been towed! Worst parking ever and with the 24 hour visitor parking spots, we are constantly having to stress over when we should move the other car, or worried if it has already been towed. Not exactly the anxiety I want on my days off. Other than the parking situation, the apartments are nice for the price, but if I had read the parking reviews I would not have picked this place at all.
I had the best expierence moving in here at Sofi at Murray Hill, I moved about a week and a half ago. Mike in the office worked with me and the application and approval proccess was so fast. I got approved and move in within a day. I love my apartment. Upstairs, attached garage and beautiful finshings! Plus the rent is very well priced. I havent had a chance to use the ammentities but the property is just beautiful. There is so many trees on the property and a cute little pond with ducks around it. Couldnt be happier!
The worst part about this review is that the rating implies a chance of Fairness. Truth is its just poor. And there are plenty of other reviews to support this.I rented for one year. During that time parking was always bad. On work days, I would get home pretty late and leave by nine in morning. Those days I found it better to park in the old folks home kitty corner from main entrance. That was till I was sick one day and went to work late. The old folks home management put a notice on car and so I stopped that. Something Reflections will not do give notices or warnings. When implementing the new policy, they said they were going to do garage inspections before towing policy would go into effect. When they were to do the pre-arraged inspections, we were informed that the inspections would be delayed. They never inspected but they did just start towing people. No notice or warnings dispite requring all cars be on file. I never got towed because I was parked at the old folks home at the time.Theyre slow to repair and we regularly would have a fuse blow for no reason, like clock work twice a month. And the in unit circut box coverd all fuses accept the one that kept blowing. They refused to tell us where it was.During the non-winter months they have VERY active and VERY loud landscapers. This doesnt mean they care about appearances. I complained many times about our neighbors who for nine months had four cat trees on their deck. They put them out on the first of July next to my barbeque, requiring me to move my barbeque, which resulted in me losing 2/3 of deck. Needless to say my 4th July barbeque party was ruined. I asked the guy and he said they disposing of them that weekend. When I moved out on February 28th they had not been removed. Yep all summer they the reeked of urine as they baked in sun and smelled of wet hair as they molded all winter. I am patient but 8 months and many complaints is to much! The online pay system worked correctly 9 of 11 months. It charges you to use it and they make it hard to mail in a payment. The rental lease is 90 pages of legalese, which basically says: if a tree falls through your house you still pay rent; if your friend hurts themselves at managements fault you pay for all costs; and if you take any action against them youre responsible for all their legal costs. When I moved out I truly did not expect my refund back. I honestly never do, but especially not from this place. When they contacted me three months later and said I owed them money. I asked for documentation which they provided. Their documentation showed that the dates they were charging us for Garbage and water were resulting in triple charges for February and Double for January. These were the only charges on bill. All my emails and calls have not been responded to since and we were sent to collections. Well, I did get one out of office email. This is just a summery but stay away from this complex and this management group.
We had dead rats in our walls. I smelled death perfreating. Found chew marks in multiple areas of the house to be blown off by management. Do yourself a favor... Dont move here
Parking here sucks. Especially on the weekend.
Partied hard up in there.
The rent is way too high and needs to be lowered and not enough parking so I would really appreciate it if you would fix your system.
Had some friends that lived here, and it was decent, but the whole layout of the place was bad, parking was terrible, and overall was a crummy spot.
The stuff in the leasing office is Does not respect the people. She isnt helpfulShe excluded and didnt talk to us.
I was checking it out ...
STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Worst place to live.
