I’m so lucky to have such a amazing and knowledgeable Maintenance guy. He’s always in a great mood and willing to help at all the time even when he’s off. Very respectful to me and my family as well as the apartment. Let me know when he’s coming ahead of time and works around my schedule. I’m so happy that I found a person with this knowledge.

Bonnie Ridge has been our home for the last two years. Our 1-bed apartment is quite spacious with everything we need including washer/drier inside the apartment, and plenty of parking available. Staff there were friendly and responsive to our questions and request. A few weeks after we renewed our lease for another year, I decided to take another job offer in a different state. The manager was willing to rescind our lease with only an extra 1/2 month worth of rent. I would highly recommend Bonnie Ridge Apartment.

So I have been here for a little over a year and it’s been quite the rollercoaster. Bonnie Ridge comes off as a beautiful, spacious, quiet community but it definitely has its negatives. The first week I was baffled at the trash situation. It’s ridiculous, one area for trash for thousands of resident. As you can imagine it’s not a pretty picture. Then things were actually okay until the first mouse appeared after accessing my storage unit. Maintence and pest control did nothing but stuff holes with cotton and prayed that the mice would go away which it did not. There have been over 20 mice ( no exaggeration, I’ve counted) that I have personally caught myself from my traps laid on my balcony. The mice get in from the storage unit and holes by the sliding door. Along with that the water in my building does not stay on. It is randomly cut off or has zero pressure, it’s quite frustrating and an inconvenience for anyone but especially when you have small children, mind you the tenants here are responsible for a water bill and we don’t even have the water we are paying for 85% of the time. It’s quite ridiculous and the leasing office has not fixed the issue yet and it’s been months.

Carpet is stained, locks barely work and are loose. The outside light has been out since Ive been here...Most importantly this place has multiple mice. Seen them in the bedrooms and running on the counters, mind you my roomates and I have only cooked once here and tend to eat at work....stay away.Been nearly 2 weeks. I lived in the Bonnie Ridge Apartments for 15 years and 6 months. The first five or so years were good. The upkeep of the property declined significantly rapidly the last seven years. They changed the company that did the landscaping numerous times. Each change resulted in a company less skilled and decrease in the services. Additionally, the trash area is horrendous. It is inadequate for the number of residents. There is a high turnover in the maintenance department but the guys in that department do good work. The head person in the office is rude.

The split level layout is so beautiful and my balcony is HUGE! My building is quiet and the apartment is clean and spacious. Jackie Coates was my leasing specialist and she was wonderful throughout. I changed my mind about units and she was very accommodating and got me into another unit-an even better one, timely! Patrice Evans was also available on move-in day to make sure everything went smoothly. The only major con is the trash being so far, but that seems to be common for larger apartments complexes in this area. Im only 4 days in but so far so good. I will update my review if anything changes but I feel I will stay a while. It has all the comforts of a home and the surrounding area is nice. I also like the fact that the neighborhood is culturally diverse. Bonnie Ridge is a hidden gem indeed.Update: Beautiful on surface... Major plumbing issues going on here. Maintenance came and fixed a stopped garbage disposal yesterday only for the kitchen to be flooded today...The water is literally going straight from the sink to the cabinet floor onto my actual floors. Tried using the dishwasher yesterday and it smelled like it was about to explode. The maintenance guy was friendly so I guess thats a plus but that doesnt help when Im swimming in dish water!!…. At least I havent see a mouse? GET YOUR MAINTENANCE TEAM TOGETHER!!!

STAY AWAY!!!! I moved in a month ago and it has been a nightmare since! The sockets don’t work I’ve been shocked several times, my stove didn’t work and when they replaced it, it wasn’t properly installed causing a gas leak at 4am, had to call BGE. and the worst happened last night when the upstairs washing machine flooded my apartment. And when I say flooded I thought it was raining in my kitchen. Water pouring from the walls cabinets and ceiling. My light fixture came inches from falling on my pregnant girlfriend. I called maintenance who couldn’t do much of anything until everything dries. I went to the management office and was immediately turned away and was told to contact maintenance! No accommodations have been made, no apologies and now my apartment has severe water damage my expensive furniture is ruined and the smell of mold is overpowering!!! I emailed corporate and awaiting on a response I have also been in contact with my attorney! This is extremely unacceptable for the amount of rent I pay. I highly recommend that you look further. The dumpsters are a whole nother disgusting situation there’s only one area for trash for a complex with at least 1000 units and it’s trash everywhere causing it to be a major housing area for rodents!!! NOT RECOMMENDED.I issued an emergency ticket last Sunday about the broken AC when outside temperature is over 90. Today is Wednesday, nobody came and there has been no waiting time estimation from leasing office so far. I called at least five times to check and lacking labor is the same response. It’s totally understandable that COVID time is tough to everyone. That’s why I waited until three days later to write this review. The word “emergency” should be considered as at least two-day response. WFH now is not different from sitting inside oven while it is 87 indoor. My time at Bonnie Ridge was short but felt like forever!! To be honest I like a few things about this apartment complex like the pool and walking trails. I especially liked how huge to floor plans are and the amount of storage space we had in our 2 bed 2 baths unit. I used to like the gym, but due to COVID there were several changes which I did not like. I understand staying safe and wanting to monitor who enters and leaves the gym, but they were only opened during office hours. Majority of the residents work during those hours so accessing the gym wasnt an option. My thing is if the gym is under video surveillance then they should be able to confront specific parties after hours if there was a COVID violation and kept the gym open 24 hours. Knowing the tools I know, there are ways to monitor who comes and goes. My main issue with Bonnie Ridge was the way the floor plan was designed. Our unit was under two separate units, so we were distracted no matter where we tried to rest our heads. One unit in particular were extremely loud 24/7 literally no exaggeration. They had little children running around at all times of the day and NIGHT even after 12AM. When I say running around I mean it. You can tell from the time they got up in the morning to the time they went to bed. They would run back and fourth from their bedroom to the living room for HOURS and jumping off of the furniture. We filed several complaints and no changes were made even after speaking directly to the old & new property manager and those tenants. If we did not live under those tenants, we may not have even left Bonnie Ridge. If you choose Bonnie Ridge, I would just say make sure that you will be living in the unit they showed you during the tour and if you can, live on the top level. Also be aware that the floors and walls are very thin.

I have had the worst experience at Bonnie Ridge. My bedroom (master bedroom) is below my neighbors living room and after many complaints there are no changes. I am not faulting my neighbors for their uncivil ways but there was clearly no consideration for a tenants rest while creating the floor plan. In addition, there are many maintenance issues revolving around water that has caused other problems like mold/mildew. My advice to anyone moving here is to ask why the last tenants left and choose your unit wisely.

Worst apartment ever. Until you stay here, it’s alright. They always charge you some extra fees every month. And when you move out they ask you money for your carpet. Something like $1500 for carpet rent. Which apartment does that? And plus for the stains in carpet $500. So we stayed in this apartment for 2 years and paid $2000 for carpet only. Let alone other extra charges. Please save yourself from moving into this apartment.

The leasing office is very understaffed and I just cannot stand one of the women, that work in the office. She makes my stomach turn, every time I have to deal with her. Her alone, makes me want to move. Ive had issues with my apartment, but they have always taken care of my issues quite fast. Ive never waited, more than 48 hours for service. I have lived here for almost one year. I am not one to complain but some issues with Bonnie ridge need to be addressed! My family was always patient and understanding of maintenance issues that took days to resolve. We were told to leave our apartment numerous times due to heat/gas/etc. and advised to stay in a hotel (our own expense or utilizing insurance) because of the issues with no modification to rent or living expenses. We pay dog fees monthly as well as a non-refundable pet deposit upon moving in. Where does that money go?? Every trash is overflowing with dog poop and majority of the time, no baggies available. Not to mention, the main trash, ALWAYS gross, Overflowing with trash. Then BR threatens to increase trash expenses. The gym has machines broken majority of the time, with no sign of replacement. We have been very patient until now, using our own resources for Bonnie ridges lack of. I Do not recommend this place. They will take money, and have no respect for personal or life situations.

As a resident of 10+ years I can say I know the property. Just like any apartment complex there are issues that are out their control. Most of the recent bad reviews are because of a gas line break that they promptly addressed. They went above and beyond to make it right for the residents affected. Some people are just never happy. Yes the property is old but they do a great job with the up keep. For the people complaining about mice, there was never a mouse problem until the fields were cleared and the new housing development went up. Maintenance does their best to deal with this, but if you have neighbors that leave food easily accessible for mice it is hard to get rid of them. Everytime I have put in for maintenance It has been taken care of promptly by a knowledgeable technician. The neighborhood is beautiful with plenty of recreational amenities including four playgrounds. All in all this place is a gem!

We have lived here for a month now and we’ve always had issues with maintenance... they either never come or they come late and don’t fix the issue properly. For the last almost week literally six days we have been out of heat, hot water and gas so we cannot use the stove. The insurance company says this is an issue from the gas lines on the outside of our property so we are not covered by our policy. We are forced to live in a cold apartment with no heat, no way to cook and cold showers . The leasing office does not seem to care about our well-being. They say it will take 3 to 4 weeks to fix it and are informing us that we would have only had one day without heat. They are very unprofessional and inconsiderate. Very upset that our year just came And we signed a new lease. I really just want to buy out the lease and leave. This is ridiculous. I’ve moved in 3 months ago and have called maintainence at least 7 times. My apartment is ALWAYS cold (we’ve even purchased space heaters) to help keep us warm since the heat is capped at 72 yet the Yes Energy bill is $200 monthly (heat alone). The floors are EXTREMELY thin, every step I take I can hear each squeak in the floor and so can my neighbors beneath me. The washing machine and dryer are so small that it’s pointless to use. The water handles are incorrectly labeled (hot means cold and cold means hot) which is EXTREMELY dangerous as I have small children. The trash system is a joke. You have to drive your trash all the way to the very end of the complex. There’s only one area for trash which means TRASH OVERLOAD. Maintenance are inexperienced and will take weeks to come. I moved here with intentions on staying until I was ready to purchase a home but I’m OUT OF HERE as soon as my year lease is up. You can literally hear your neighbors everyone move. You can hear them coughing, sneezing, making out, arguing, doors slamming hard where as your entire apartment will shake. Whew!! That was a lot to take in wasn’t it? If you want to hear the screeching and cracking of floors, children crying, doors slamming, mice, cold air in the winter, please move here. These apartments need to be demolished and rebuild from the ground up! The foundation is as poor as they come. Oh! Did I mention you can hear the mice running through the walls?! Pros: are you are tucked in a decent neighborhood and if you have small children they can attend some decent zone schools. You pay for trash that is located at the entrance of the complex (well it’s an exit now) and the trash is a disgusting overload. Summary, everything that these reviewers are mentioning is absolutely true!!! I can not wait until I leave this property.

Our family has been residents for almost 2 years. Our favorite leasing agent left and right after the management changed. There is always online payment portal issues. Ive seen eviction notices put on doors by corporate and the office team were unaware when tenants paid. Poor communication. Untrained office staff who is never knowledgeable of anything. No one properly explained the flex in water and gas bill which is separate from your BGE bill. There are too many hidden extra charges and horrible dem lightening on the property and the exit gate is never working or locked. The flooring is horrible i can hear our neighbors child run all nigh, and hear their alarm go off. We saw a dead mouse a few days ago for the first time and now disgusted. We had heating issues our first year and centipedes which they spray for but returned even when pest control came until i use borax acid. Ive had 3 different times i had to call emergency maintenance due to water spilling into my unit because the prior neighbor tub overflowed and the flooring wasnt sealed properly. Ive noticed many tenants leave due to all the sudden changes and bazaar rent rates. I intend to follow suit once our lease ends next spring. I referred two friends and regret their move in we all plan to leave early 2020

There has been an ongoing gas outage at Bonnie Ridge for 16 days now. No heat, no hot water, and no empathy from management. They waived rent while the gas has been shut off to over 250 apartments, which Im pretty sure is a legal tactic to prevent people from filing rent escrow and using that as a method to terminate their lease. People have been using space heaters just to stay warm. Sharing 6 showers at the gym. Parking on the other side of the complex because the entire place is a giant construction site. And management doesnt seem to care at all.

Ever since the management company was changed, the office staff kept harassing tenants. Messing up address, threaten to increase rent for an already signed lease. Staffs are not trained before they go to work, aggressive and rude. Please, dont even waste your time to go to the open house, and find the apartment that just across the street.

There is a natural gas leak and it’s almost Week 2 since over 100 people have been without hot water or heat.... my apartment is about 50 degrees right now and that’s during the day, it reaches about 40 degrees at night. I have a 6 year old son who I have had stay at mom’s place for the past two weeks. As if that wasn’t enough..... I come home today from running around 10-13 hours to at least get under the covers and watch tv..... nope. No electricity.Oh and the leasing office is closed. Nothing I can do about it. Smh.This place sucks.

I think people tend to have more to say when the feedback is back. I havent really dealt with snow removal yet but Im coming up on the end of my lease and Ive had a great experience. My apartment looks great, no cracks, pests, leaks, nothing. My only complaint is some of the people in the community. Maybe its just those Ive come across but theyre less than friendly. Go see the place and check it out, it speaks for itself :)

Lived here for over 5 years. The first few years were ok but the complex seems to have gone downhill. In my time there I had a mouse issue that never got resolved, despite the fact I called and asked for an exterminator for months. The exterminator would come in and set a few glue traps and leave, never really fixing the source of the issue. Energy bills were expensive and my AC rarely worked in the summer. Maintenance would come but it would be a quick fix and not a solution. Safety for me was my biggest concern. I had a neighbor once who would shoot a gun off the balcony into their walking trail---I was told by management since it was a bb gun and not an actual gun there was nothing they could do. I also was the victim of an attempted home break in the week I moved out. Someone tried to kick in my front door in the middle of the night. I am not sure how safe this complex is anymore, which is a shame. For years before the all happened I really enjoyed my time here and had mostly good experiences.

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME.this place is a joke. We are currently paying for a hotel room out of pocket because of negligence from maintenance which resulted in a gas leak. Now 7 apartment buildings are without ANY gas (hot water, heat, cooking appliances). We are still charged rent and they will not let us out of our lease. Im paying for food out, hotel stay, parking, and other expenses while Im forced out of my apartment (which they agreed would be helpful in lovable conditions for the extent of my stay. Im furious and struggling financially. Dont end up like me. Dont live at a home Properties location.

While I lived at this complex for two years, I can assure you the only good thing is the price we got when we first moved in, then it was way too expensive for what the place is worth. Before moving in, we were promised an agreement on one apartment, and then someone calls us a week later to say that one is no longer available because the person living in it decided not to move out - even though this was after the 60 day agreement of them having to give notice. This happened a second time, as well. We ended up in an apartment that had so many things wrong with it because it wasnt ready for move in, they just threw us in there. Customer service is terrible, took forever to get in touch with someone, and trying to send emails to them was a waste of time - no one ever replied. Sending a maintenance request for certain issues sometimes would take a couple days for someone to contact us or show up. We had a huge wood bee issue at one point, and had to report it numerous times in order for maintenance to fix the roof on our patio. Theres also only one place for trash in the community, and most of the time its completed overloaded, things just dumped on the side.I would take your money elsewhere - this place is not worth the headache.

I have lived in Bonnie ridge for past 4 years. it used to be great and then from past 2 years things are just downhill. I am not a victim of robbery but I have seen kids sitting on my car and other peoples cars. Also scratches on cars were seen. It has become a nightmare. I have a little baby who wakes up or most of the time doesnt go to sleep because of the poor building structure and noisy (I MEAN REALLY NOISY !!!) neighbors. There was a law that no cookouts are allowed after 7 pm in rec area but that law is no longer effective (probably) . Also, 2 out of 3 neighbors on ground level were arrested for drug smuggling.STAY AWAY and do yourself an a great favor. We are paying $1400 for 2 BHK ? you can pay a mortgage for the same amount. Also, maintenance just SUCKS !! we have mice and its already been 5 times I have called. they came once and did the patches aout 2 months ago but problem still persisting. When it comes to cleanliness of outside, they never follow strict rules of cleaning after pets.Overall this place doesnt even deserve 1* . I think it deserve negative (-5*) .

I have been living in Bonnie Ridge for about 3 years now. Things have been okay until recently. There are constant gas and water outages. Most recently, we were just informed that the gas will be turned off for 3-4 weeks! This means no heat, hot water, or use of kitchen appliances. Bonnie ridge has been terrible at returning calls and giving updates on this matter. I have never heard of a gas repair taking this long. I dont understand how this is even legal. The staff is generally pleasant when I have interactions with them, but that doesnt make up for subjecting tenants to months long gas outages with very poor to no communication or mitigation of the matter.

I regret the day I signed that lease. I was hesitant due to the reviews and 2.3 rating at the time but was on a tight scehdule so I made the leap since on the surface it didnt seem too bad. Idk where to start but Yes Energy is a rip off. You have 2 options a high budget billing that they cap at 72 for your heat and water or they rip you off further for not going on budget billing. My heat is over $200 since Im not on budget billing. Each month despite it being at the same temp my bill keeps climbing.Theres a mouse in the kitchen I saw yesterday which is so unsanitary and disgusting. I can do bugs but I draw the line at mice. I am through with this place. They dont enforce the residents to clean up after their dogs so the landscape is filled with feces even on the sidewalks are giant smashed in clumps. The water pressure in my main bathroom is a joke, it is so low its almost pointless. Maintenance takes forever to respond and I mean over 2 months. The glass shields on the oven keeps falling out after they fixed it. They cut the water routinely for hours. The washer and dryer is so small I have to break what would normally be 1 load into 3 or 4.I could go on but Im making myself angry. Only 5 more months left on my lease and I cannot wait. Ive never detested an apt as Ive detested this.

The leasing office has no idea what they are talking about most of the time. You can go up to/call the leasing office multiple times and depending on who you talk to you get different answers. Some to make you happy, some that don’t make sense at all and after like 4th or 5th time speaking with them and asking for a manager youll finally get the correct answers. The water gets turned off for a few days to a week at a time just during the day. Just today the power has mysteriously gone off and estimates say it won’t be back on until 9pm tonight. The area here is great but the people running this complex seem to care very little about the residents and way more about how they can take the most money from you possible.

Tl;dr : unhelpful staff, second-hand smoke, and very high utilities.I didnt have too many complaints while living at Bonnie Ridge, but a few things really turned me off. Here are some of things to be aware of :1) This is not a smoke-free apartment and ventilation is terrible, which means that if the unit above has a smoker, you will pretty much second-hand smoke anytime he/she smokes in the apartment. The unit above me had a heavy smoker and the cigarette smell was saturated in the HVAC, which caused the cigarette smell to fill the unit everytime we turned on the A/C or heat.2) The office is not helpful at all. I contacted them about (2) and all they said was that this is not a smoke-free apartment so Id have to live with it. Also they were not clear at all about conveying some of the most important information about utilities (youll see in a bit in (3)).3) Other than electricity, all utilities are apparently metered per building and split between units based on the size, number of tenants, etc. This means that you are paying for someone elses excessive heating, gas, and water usage. For reason (1), I ended up not running A/C and heat at all and despite this I was charged > $200 for the colder winter months.4) Probably because of (3), utility bills are outrageously high. The first few months (summer and fall) seemed all right - electricity (BGE) ~$30 and other utilities ~$60 - for a 2-bedroom apartment. Then winter hits and while electricity remained similar other utilities went up to >$150 for a good five months. This continued until I moved out in May.

Rent goes up and they are not understanding about anything. Being able to pay your rent online is great but it never works. I can’t count the amount of times the water and or gas was turned off...you would think they would accommodate their customers but NOPE THEY DID NOTHING, all we were told was,”use the gym facilities.” Then you get charged for not picking up dogs waste but no bags anywhere on the property??? It is their job to supply and make sure bags are readily available for US. Seams a bit ridiculous that they can’t make sure bags are out. If you can’t supply bags for animal waste don’t offer a pet friendly apartment! Now we are getting charged an extra month because we didn’t give proper notice that we weren’t leaving. $1500 for an apartment we won’t be in because we are moving, this place is awful and has no heart for their renters!!! To make things worse, my wife called the manager in the office and all they had to say,” we can’t treat you any different.” Smack in the face!

We have lived at Bonnie Ridge for about 1 year and it has been a surprisingly bad experience overall. We have gone out of our way to let people know that if they are looking for a place to live, they should avoid Bonnie Ridge. In terms of specific problems we have had - 1) Mice - it took 3 attempts at getting this resolved (they came twice and sprayed for insects and other pests until they finally took our advice and patched the holes in the walls), 2) Bathroom fixtures that are falling apart, 3) Poor upkeep in the kitchen, 4) Snow removal that was absolutely laughable (while most communities were cleared within a day or 2, Bonnie Ridge cleared a tiny section from the front office to the exit and left the rest for 2 weeks; most residents were trapped and could not get their cars out for that entire time; their initial strategy was one pickup truck with a shovel until it ran out of gas) - just totally unacceptable, 5) Questionable extra charges such as charging us an extra 200$ for our last 2 weeks here given that they switch to a month to month for any time over the year even though we had a cheaper rate by committing to one year and 6) generally, a front staff that is very ambivalent about your concerns and dont seem to care.We have lived in a number of apartments over the last 10 years and this has been the worst experience we have had. I would recommend looking elsewhere for a place to live.
