My first visit to walmart auto cate after using costco and firestone for 10 years. I’m the first customer visit today at 7:30 am to replace tires. They said car will be available in 2-3 hours.,I didnot get any call for next 5 hours, kept calling to check up status. Finally at 5:30 pm someone answered my phone and told i got informed at 10:30am which is total nonsense. To make my things worse for myself, in a hurry to meet already late appointment, i got locked myself out of the car. When I requested to pop-a-lock, they refused to help me, as they don’t have any equipment. When grocery stores like whole foods help people in situations like these, walmart auto care center don’t have tools after spending $500 on tires just 5 mins ago lolone hell of an experience, and a pathetic customer service.hopefully, will be my last transaction at walmart
They take their sweet time so bring a book.My car was 2nd in line at 8;30 am and it’s 11 am and they’re just starting . Should have brought a blow up bed
They replaced my engine battery without informing me first, and I was charged $140. Extremely long wait as well.
Came in to get tires mounted on some wheels, they had me wait 4 hours and they mounted all 4 tires to fit on the left side of the car. Then when I came back for them to fix their mistake, they had me wait another few hours for them to get to my tires.
They left the oil cap open for my Toyota Camry 2014, after a day I found out, all my engine and hood was full of oil, and my hood supporting rods were damaged they wouldn’t stay up, they were not accepting their fault, I had to make them pay for the hood supports,But I had to pay for the hood foam which cost me $150.I like this store it never happened in last four years I have been coming here, but this time may be new technician they were not so professional.
Theyr broke my key theyr keep lying we didnt
Great mechanic/service (John), free battery installation + minor parts with purchase (via online doesnt generate in-store receipt hence needs them to be lenient, which they are). Not too busy in the morning, prepare to wait for a bit since its first come first serve. Will try out their tire service next.
Always have professional and fast service!
I have used Walmart auto care center for a long time without issue, four separate cars over many years without a mistake.Yesterday however, they didn’t install the oil cap properly. This led to oil all over the engine bay and white smoke from burning motor oil.Mistakes happen, but whats important is they owned up to it. They cleaned the engine, toped the oil, refunded the charge, and paid for a new oil cap. All in all, couldn’t have expected more, and I would recommend them.
Great Service - Fast - ProfessionalI was on a road trip from Canada, experienced 2 trailer tire blow outs - pulled into the Auto Center (I was having a bad day). Matthew, I believe the service manager was over the moon helpful - such a relief. Inspected my tire on the spot, worked quickly and diligently, darting into and out of the shop trying to fix my issue and my tire. At the end, I needed to purchase a new tire. But Matthew didnt stop until I was on the road. He cared. The best experience Ive ever had at a Walmart. He even made sure the new tire I bought had the correct pressure on it before selling it to me. Cheers buddy, thank you.
Was quoted 2 and half hours wait time for a turn signal replacement. 3 hours later and still 2 cars ahead of me. Of course the workers dont seem fazed or bothered that you are waiting. In fact, they seem to get off on letting you know how long the wait is going to be. Yeah, this Walmart will not get my business for my car anymore.
Margaret is one of the nicest people you could ever meet. She works at the tire side of it. The manager hes cool too. So I would definitely recommend this place.
I had no problem or long wait getting an oil change for my vehicle. Courteous and knowledgeable staff. I guess it depends on the service and time of day. Of course wknds will be busier. I will return.
I would only come if you have some time to kill. Youre probably going to be waiting at least a couple hours unless its during a non peak time. I would recommend during the week. If you have a lot of shopping to do then I guess it doesnt hurt to endure the two-hour wait. Thankfully Chick-fil-A is right next door as well as a few other places you can check out if it drags out.
I went and got me an air pump and i was out of there fast and the guy was very cool. The tire dept. Staff are very cool i have to add.
Good place to order tire online and install here, only $12.50 for life Time balance. $10 tire mount refunded. That was for one tireFeb19, tail end of the snow storm, this store is closed but the telephone recording still says it opens 7am-11pm.
This place is hit and miss on quality of service. Last week I was here for a road hazard warrant replacement for a tire I purchased. The I intial response from the person helping me was sorry we dont carry that tire here at this store. Followed by him attempting to dismiss me. I would step aside, but instead questioned what he meant and then questioned what my options were. He tried to inform me that I could try a different Walmart store. It was like pulling teeth to have him check his system and then give options including a direct to store order. Eventually he helped me order the tire. When I returned later in the week to have the tire replaced it took a while to have then bring the vehicle in and then as I watched they started examining the tire as if they were going to determine if a repair was possible. When I asked what they were doing they told me there was nothing they could do since it was a sidewall hole... I was baffled thinking did these guys not even read the paperwork? I clarified it wasnt suppose to be repaired it was a replacement with a tire that was already order and confirmed. They informed me we dont have a tired for that. Long story short I had to talk them through the process and almost help find the tire. After this they got the install done without additional issue.
Took my F150 in there today for an oil change. After waiting 1.5 hours they refused service because they couldnt get the bolt off the oil pan! Im no novice to changing oil and never have I or any other technician not been able to get that off of any vehicle. Either incompetence or laziness or a combo or both. This is not the first time Ive serviced a vehicle at walmart. Been denied because they cant break a bolt, and went to another provider who had no issues accomplishing the task. Will never go to walmart for auto service items again.
Sat in the hot driveway for about ten minutes waiting to be addressed. My husband went inside to seek service and also received no acknowledgement. Finally a young man came and knocked on my window bit instead of offering service he asked me to move my car. Needless to say we left and went down the street to Jiffy Lube where we received great and quick service.
Easy to enter next to the repair bays. They definitely have the best prices on basics. Bought oil and a filter for an oil change, and it cost less than half of what it did at Auto Zone.
I go in to get my battery replaced, told the gentleman that he should call me if anything should change before he did anything else.3.5 hours wait, fine Ill go get lunch and walk around a bit.I get a phone call 3 hours later that the tech switched out one of my tires that I had specifically said was fine and that I would get them fixed when I got paid.I walk back and tell the woman (who was extremely condescending) at the counter that I didnt appreciate that they did something without telling me. Next thing I know shes calling a manager back to explain something to me. By then Im frankly a little ticked off.I dont care about the wait time, I dont care about the Walmart policy, I care that you all did something of your own accord without talking to me.Never coming back to Walmart auto again.FYI - Ive been waiting here forever for them to finish and the amount of BS that they talk about people is ridiculous.Edit/Update:. They also left my window rolled down and my trunk unlocked. So add LIABILITY onto this post.Edit/Update (2) : Apparently, they also poorly installed the battery, so my vehicles computer system was out of wack, causing my car to stall out in the middle of traffic! Really!?Go somewhere else - its not worth your safety!
I visited several times, and was satisfied until I got my car battery replaced. A new battery got dead in 20 days without any issues like lights on overnight, etc. Hope the new replacement works.
This place is so inefficient and idiotic at their job they could rival a government agency. I called ahead and was quoted $128 and change for two tires with no warranty. When I dropped my car off I specifically told them I want the tires on the front instead of the back. They told me it would be about two and half hours for my car to be ready. Four hours later my car was finally ready and the illiterate morons put the new tires on the back instead of the front and want to charge me $161.00 which was more money than I had. Apparently they put the warranty back on the bill and nickel and dimed for everything. I had them take the warranty off and asked them to put the tires on correctly. But they wanted me to wait till they finished another vehicle to do what they could easily do with a couple floor jacks. Needless to say I will never return to this place even in an emergency such as today’s. I’ll wait the two day to get into discount tire next time.
Service was great. They even found that one of the tires was the wrong size. They replaced it for free since it was previously done by another Walmart location.
We got a flat tire coming into Austin and this was the only place still open. Everything else was closed. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the lady at the desk was extremely rude and cussed out both my husband and the next customer. We didnt choose to come there that late, we rolled in on a flat tire. Lol! The reason it still got 4 instead of 3 is that the guys in the shop were super nice and got us a new tire even though they were about to close. :)
Extremely slow. Terrible business model. Understaffed
It was good but waiting time might be long
I was there waiting to get new battery installed for over three hours. They only had one battery to fit my car and it was the most expensive. It is a good battery; however, I would have liked to have had a choice.
Took my car in to get an oil change and when it was returned, the drivers seat was soaked in sweat. I understand they work hard in no ac but they could have put a towel down or something. Also, they refused to meet me outside like a normal walmart auto center, yelling at me to go inside where there was no one to help me.
I came in needing an oil change and 1 new tire. Told the guy specifically what I wanted, synthetic Mobil 1 and lowest price new tire. I had 3 of my little ones with me losing patience. He proceeded to ask me questions that required me to repeat everything I had just told him. When he was finally ready to let me walk off, he said it would be 45 mins for the oil change and 30 for the tire. I did my grocery shopping and came back an hour and a half later (25 minutes extra from the total time he gave me), and my vehicle was not ready. It’s been another 30 mins and it’s still not ready. I don’t recommend this place for your auto needs.
The salesman knew exactly which battery I needed. I bought it quickly and no hassles
Do not come here! Went for an oil change at 10am. They told me it would take 2 hours, and basically it wasnt ready until 1:45pm! No thank you. Next time I will make an appointment somewhere else.
Simply called to see if it was possible to come in. I was 5 mins away and the person yelled on the phone, “WE CLOSE AT 8!” No duh. I’m aware. Sorry my business is an inconvenience for you. Trash.
Hm well I got what i needed but felt dirty doing it
Great service, go early on Wednesday when it is less busy
I went to get my oil changed and I felt like I got ripped off. All said and done, I paid $83 for a synthetic oil change at Walmart. No thanks, Ill be going somewhere else next time. I had to pay the base $54 for synthetic, plus a separate charge for the oil filter for a Jetta. Then when I returned to pick up my car, I found out that I was charged for 2 additional quarts above the included 5 quarts. My receipt said my car took 6.1 quarts and so they said that the remaining 0.9 quarts would be in my car. It wasnt so they went back to the garage and proceeded to hand me a quart bottle that was almost empty. When I said that it should be almost full, the lady said my car took 6.5 quarts--well that still doesnt explain why I have a pretty much empty quart container. After a little googling, turns out that my car only takes 6 quarts so they didnt even need to use that 7th quart at all. Either they are amateurs or just purposefully ripping people off.
My husband went last night at 6:30pm for an oil change. These people did NOT want to do it. It took my husband over 15 minutes to get a assistant manager to help him out. The guy there was not willing to do the oilchange AND tire rotation because they close at 8. He said because there were two people in front of him. No one was there when he pulled up, not even in the TLE parking. Well finally got it done. Hes getting ready to leave the car isnt idling right. He was pretty sure that guy did something wrong. At that point he was just done dealing with those people. Called a tow truck to tow to a mechanic shop. Sure nough, the guy didnt snap the air filter in right. I wish I give -1 star.
These guys always do great!
It could be cleaner, I mean it is a Walmart, but it isnt in the ghetto.Service was good, the people are nice and you can walk and shop for the hour it takes. They dont take appointments but you can keep calling in to see how long the wait is before you head that way.
1.5 hours to patch a hole in one tire. Really?! Never going there again!
Very friendly especially Laura, she was of great help and tryied her best to make things easier.
My go-to place for low price new tires and warranty. For lower price I dont mind waiting while shopping. Thanks.
Understaffed. Store is NOT budgeting in to their payroll enough people to meet the demand.
Four hours for a battery installation. Three hours of waiting, ONE hour in the garage with the hood up. Seriously?!
Was in and out quickly and the staff were friendly!
Horrible horrible ..slow, rude and walking around on there phones.. I will never come back and I will tell as many people as I can to never come here..

The Auto Service staff was awesome!
One car in front of me for an oil change, they said it take an hour. It’s been 2.5 hours and I haven’t been called.
Average help. Forgot filter add...
Very friendly folks here. Pretty busy most of the time, so go very early if you can.
