I recently had my first experience at milk + honey a few weeks ago and walked out of the salon loving my hair. But the next day I noticed how brittle, dry, lifeless, and blotchy the work was. I contacted customer service and milk + honey was so helpful and accommodating to my needs! I went in the following week and I need to RAVE on MATILDA who brought my hair back to life with the beautiful blend, shine, movement, and moisture! I walked out confident and satisfied! Not to mention shes such a sweetheart and a lovely mentor figure - I am looking forward to coming back :) below are the before + after pics.

Messed up the scheduling for my pedicure appointment today, and did nothing to rectify the error other than asking me about rescheduling the appointment.They canceled my appointment and said that they emailed me multiple times but I didnt receive any email. When I talked to the manager later on, she said that shell send a follow-up email but I havent received it. Although they tried to call me a few hours before, I was away from my phone, so I obviously did not receive their message about the appointment cancellation. Otherwise, I would not have wasted my time going there.Whats frustrating is that I called the concierge (to ask a question related to my appointment) right before I left my home to get to my appointment on time and I told her that I have a 1:15 PM appointment. She never mentioned that it was canceled. It was a total waste of my time. It was so disappointing.

Okay so I went for a hair color in April. I had a consultation with a hair stylist at the arboretum location and I was very happy that I found someone who understands my hair. I booked an appointment but the salon called me and told me the hair stylist is sick and they need to reschedule and they don’t have any appointments for the next 2 weeks. I was traveling for my wedding in a week so I asked if I could be paired with a different stylist. They did. I went to the south Lamar location and the stylist was super nice but they did not understand mu requirements at all. I have super long black hair and I wanted a real good pop of highlights of light brown throughout my hair. They used very dark brown and told me the color would fade which it did not. I barely have highlights in like 2 or 3 places in my hair. I told them I want the highlights to be very visible and all over my hair. They trimmed a bit of my front hair to frame the face. In my consultation I was told since the trim is not that much, the stylist is going to just do it for free. And also add it a deep conditioning treatment since it was my first time at milk and honey. They did neither. I was charged for a trim. Like really? For trimming my bangs. And mind you I could have done that myself but they suggested they would it with no issues. Also they did not provide me a free deep conditioning treatment. When I told my friends and family I got a hair color, they couldn’t even spot where the light brown highlights were. And you know how much I paid? $285 in total.All they did was wash my hair and style it. Indeed an expensive hair wash I say. I do not recommend this salon to anyone.

Amazing place! Really felt pampered. Jackie who did my facial was soo good! Also got a mani-pedi and Liz really made a difference. But the absolute best was Matt. I mean my hair never looked so glamorous! Would give more stars if I could!

Loved my cut and color! VERY CLEAN. Took temperature, face masks worn, social distancing respected. They took the time to make the experience fun and relaxing!

This is a great salon that offers great atmosphere, service, and very skilled professionals. I’ve had two appointments with Veronica and she is so lovely and makes sure to check in with me throughout the hair cut to make sure I’m liking the length/look. I highly recommend you ask for her!

I had a facial appointment with Gigi and it was fantastic. I loved the aesthetic of the salon. My facial was very relaxing and he recommended a few products to try to help my skin. Booking online was super easy and I appreciated the health and safety precautions taken in light of COVID-19. I will definitely be back!

I love SALON by milk+honey. Ive gotten a few haircuts here with Veronica and I love seeing her. Veronica is like my very own Tyra Banks a la ANTM. She ALWAYS knows what looks good on me and what works for my face. I trust her to make me look great and we can talk for hours. SO GLAD I found someone as wonderful as Veronica!

I tried to give this salon multiple chances but it continues to disappoint. Their massage services are not terrible and they do have good products but their hair and nail salon is staffed with multiple inexperienced technicians. Today was my 3rd bad experience with Milk and Honeys hair salon. I went it for a simple cut and highlight and the technician literally told me I cant promise you that the highlights will come out blonde, they might pull really warm tones. I responded Are you telling me it could turn orange? Yes, but you can schedule another appointment and we could fix it then. It will cost you another hair color apt. This was BEFORE she even began. It is not that difficult to put blonde highlights in someones hair. My hair is not super dark. Im actually naturally a dirty blonde. Needless to say, I walked out this time and wont be returning.

M+H on South Lamar is a 5 star salon. I’ve been getting services at this salon every 3-4 weeks for 3+ years. Overall the salon is friendly, clean, and efficient. I’m always greeted upon arrival and offered a drink...”yes please and thank you!” Ally has been my stylist since my first visit and I’d recommend her to anyone. In over 3 years I’ve never left the salon disappointed. She is great at giving me consistency in my cut and color. But when I come in asking for a change she’s always game and delivers something I love! My husband and mom love Ally too. Also important, she never runs late.

Great value for your money AND time! Their service is great - staff is friendly and cut/style are up to date! My stylist know just how to give a flattering hair cut

High quality stylists, timely, and comfortable. I enjoy the rewards system. Scheduling is sometimes very difficult, the scheduling center doesn’t always know what stylists offer which services. Depending on who you get at the call center, they can be a bit rude. Some stylists will exchange numbers with you so they can accommodate you into their schedule better. Be open to seeing different stylists because they will change their available days. Twice I have had a stylist install hair extensions for me and then leave. The second time I was made aware and provided an alternate stylist to see as a good transition.

I went in for a basic scissor haircut .. my hair was just slightly below my shoulders and I got charged $85 dollars! They said it was because my hair is “thick”. I didn’t even get my hair full blow dried and was in an out the door in about 30 minutes. Plus- the woman thinned my hair out with a shears and butchered my hair so now I have to go back to get a redo. It may not even be fixable. So upsetting

Always absolutely the best. In customer service and tasks. The girls at the front desk are always helpful and nice and the rest of the staff for hair and pedicures is always meticulous, courteous, and listen. Amy and Liz, thank you!!!

I finally found a place I love. Kacy Marie is always friendly, listens to what I want and does a great job every time I see her. I feel very welcomed there as well, and Im always greeted timely and offered a beverage. The place is well-done and always clean. The prices arent any different than any other salon in Austin. I like how they offer a wide variety of services, too. I would highly recommend going there.

Very impressed with Laura! I went in for a haircut and High lights. She answered all my questions and offered me a few products to take home and use! After my haircut I received the best compliments form work and home. I would never go back anywhere else, the place is a tad pricey but if you are looking for great quality results look no further!Thank you Laura ❤️

I LOVE milk + honey salons! Not only are they one of a very few salons that use and offer unique, non-toxic, healthy body products but I find them to be super accommodating, polite and helpful every time I go for a nail service or massage...and the service is always top notch. Plus they give bonuses for birthdays and such! Hooray for milk + honey! I highly recommend them.

After six years of living in Austin, Ive finally found both a salon and stylist I love. Jaymee at M+H is amazing. She makes every experience really nice and unlike a lot of stylists, really listens to your wants and needs and tailors each haircut to what you are looking for. The salon itself is always clean and everyone is really friendly. I love the team at M+H and cannot recommend them enough.

I love that you can have a glass of wine while getting your hair done here... but about the hair: April has always done a fantastic job bringing my hair dreams to life. Shes great at communicating and just a fun stylist to catch up with during appointments. Ive always been happy with the results and Id recommend her for anyone with curly hair (mixed ethnicity peeps) or who wants color any day.

RUN do not walk to Jenn Kerr. She is what makes me come back to this place over and over again. Take my money! In all seriousness, this place is full of professionals. Its like that wine store to keep going to being you know theyll never let you down. Same thing here - but for a haircut that will never let you down.

Since Ive moved to Austin, this is the place where Ive gotten my haircut. Im always treated so well and feel so good afterward. However, I was supposed to get my haircut today and they did not tell me until the day of that my therapist would not be available. Did not apologize or try to accommodate me for today, even though it was from their end. A little let down and disappointed about the way the situation was handled.

Ive had my hair done 3 times by Ally K (cut and color) and at this point I wont let anyone else touch my hair because she always exceeds my expectations. She is an amazing stylist and such a pleasant person that I actually look forward to having my hair done! Also, Milk and Honey gives amazing customer service in general. I went to Red Stella when I first moved to Austin and was so disappointed with the results and lack of customer service (rude stylists that rush) I came to Milk and Honey to have them fix my color. So impressed, best salon in Austin, bar none.

I always love coming here. All the stylists whove worked with my hair the past 3 years know what theyre doing, and I really appreciate their emphasis on clean/organic/sustainable haircare.

I really wanted to enjoy this place and was hoping to learn more about my skin. I had a facial here a couple days ago, I left with so much product on my face. It was sticky and extremely shiny. My face broke out the day after. I waited a few more days since breakouts after facials happen. But my face looks worse than before I went in, I paid $115 for the service and bought $58 exfoliator. I trusted the woman that did the facial because it was my first one. But looking in the mirror I have the same amount of blackheads and more cystic acne breakouts. My skin is red and sensitive to the touch. After researching the products she gave me to sample, they are not good for acne prone skin, (jojoba oil, avocado oil, etc.) I figured she’s trained and would know about what products not to use on acne prone skin. I’m not sure what to do about it now and I’m extremely upset that I spent this much money on this service.

Had a great experience today! Got a signature facial with Amanda R. She is absolutely amazing! One of the best aestheticians I’ve ever had during a service and by far one of the best facials I’ve ever had. I highly recommend this salon and Amanda! You won’t regret it!

Love the polishes they use. Only gotten nails done here and each time it last really well. Great atmosphere too! Mari really knows what she is doing and has an eye for detail!

I only went in to be a test dummy and I know that that place the salon has high standards and quality control but God bless her heart I was very sad about how my hair turned out I didnt realize it till I was all the way home that it just anyway I mean thats the whole point of letting somebody learn on you so I wasnt upset then it looks a little better now but... I didnt get to ask but I am curious if theyre hair models mess up something if they fix it? If anybody knows let me know

Amazing experience at Milk + Honey salon!I went in for a trim and left realizing that not all hair cuts are created equal -- Jaymee C. blew me away!! First she talked with me to figure out exactly what I wanted (to keep as much length as possible but my number one goal was for my very dry, thick hair to feel healthy) From there she knew just what my hair needed! She ended up having to take only a couple of inches off of the length (yay!) but more importantly she still completely transformed my hair from dry and lifeless to bouncy and healthy. I will absolutely be back to see her -- finally someone who understands and can give me exactly what I ask for. Thank you Jaymee!!

Im not in the habit of paying $70 for a pedicure but I got a gift card and figured Id take advantage of the opportunity. Admittedly it was a great pedi and I enjoyed the pampering, I just doubt Id return at the same prices when I can find other deluxe spa pedicures for half the cost.

Update: received a call from the manager at the 2nd street location, Elizabeth. She was amazing! She rescheduled me & went above and beyond to turn my experience around. My stylist, Mandy, was also so great! She gave me an incredible cut, deep conditioning treatment, & gave me an easy way to style my hair. So happy with the way they handled everything. :)Sooo disappointed with my experience. I don’t make a lot of money, but a couple of times a year I’ll splurge on services at Milk + Honey. I booked am appointment for 12 today. I called because I realized I was running late. Over the phone I was told I would not need to reschedule if I made it before 12:15. I walk in the door at 12:11 and I’m told the stylist will not see me. The stylist said I had to arrive at 12:10 for her to take me. Yes, no flexibility on ONE minute. The appointment is an hour long & I know for a fact that my haircut wasn’t going to take more than 30 mins. Despite expressing my frustration on their conflicting information, I was met with a lack luster sorry and no resolution. So sad to end a relationship with a salon I loved, but this experience says a lot about how much they care about their customers.

So my daughter got her hair done for her birthday.She wanted full highlights with some blonde and brown.She took a picture to refer to and it looks nothing like it.They did a terrible job it doesnt even look like they put any highlights in her hair at all.It looks like she just got her hair colored.For the price they charged for full highlight service she should have got what she wanted.

Overpriced and one step above Great Clips. I chose this salon because I was under the impression they would have someone on staff who would know how to work with fine hair and who would know how to fix a bad cut. After paying $75, my hair was still mostly an embarrassing mess; unblended from back to front and really just half-assed; I ended up having to trim some of my own hair just to make it look even in the front. Yes, the staff is nice, but that doesnt mean they know what they are doing. I will not be returning to this salon and I will not recommend this salon.

I get my pedicures done here from time to time - Liz is the best! Shes so sweet and friendly (and also very good at her work)! Milk and Honey has nice options for upgrades, the facility is clean, calm and relaxing. This is a nice treat over the normal pedicures that I get at stripmall mani/pedi places.

Had my hair cut here once, had a great experience, until I tried to set up my second appointment. When I called to set it up the receptionist was extremely rude, which is unfortunate because now I will not be going back.

If I could give this place less than one star I would! I drove over an hour to get my hair cut here was all excited and ready even got there early, first I wasnt acknowledge when I went in receptionist was no where to be found so I sat and waited for a little while. Then someone came up front sat down and looked at me no hi how can I help you or anything I then got up and told her my appointment time to be told that they can NOT cut my hair because I had my 10 year old son with me!!!!! Are you kidding me that is ridiculous I could understand if he was 2 but not 10. My time and gas was completely wasted!!! Had I known that they dont allow children there at all or without strict supervision I would have never wasted my time!!! I will NEVER go back to this place such lack of care from the receptionist. Very disappointed and angry.
