Had my birthday nails (dip powder) and pedicure done here. Tom was wonderful and did a beautiful job on my nails! I was a little short on time when it got to the pedicure, but they still did a great job with the time I had and made sure I left feeling and looking great.Also, their pedicure chairs are soooo comfy!

This place is iconic to the locals! Almost don’t want to post and let the secret out more, but have to say that Nina is the best. You really can’t go wrong with anyone here, but I love Nina, she gives the best foot massages!! Everyone is super friendly, talented, and meticulous. Can’t recommend a better nail spot for a super affordable price.

1st of all, this place does not use plastic liners in the bowl you put your feet in. 2nd of all, they brought out the pedicure tools in a metal lunchbox, not a sealed plastic bag like most places. 3rd of all, I instructed my guy that I wanted the 30 dollar pedicure. When I got to the counter he charged me 35. This place is small, cluttered and not professional and not clean in my opinion. There are way too many places to go downtown that are much cleaner. you get what you pay for I guess. I only went here because it is across the street from my condo. Look elsewhere!

I received the dip powder manicure and seriously by the time I left I literally looked and felt like a princess. They took their time and finished with such great results! I highly recommend this salon ❤️

They always squeeze me in, even last minute, without rushing through my requested services. They always listen to what I ask for and make my nails look great. The salon is clean, comfortable, and socially distanced for your safety. On top of all this they also have incredibly competitive prices compared to other shops. I was excited for this nail experience, but my technician seemed to have her mind somewhere else the whole time. She only halfway cleaned up my nails; which is my whole point of getting a pedicure/manicure. The paint job turned out really nice, but I go in mainly to have my nails cleaned up and nicely shaped. I was disappointed with the lack of attention to shaping & cleaning my nails, and now as it grows out, I have my cuticles all uneven and my nails growing in sideways.

I got a nice hard gel manicure from another artist but it had been a while and it needed to come off asap. I couldnt get an appointment with her at the time so I popped into Great Nails and they took me immediately. Removing the hard gel was a feat but they got it done and got me right with a gel manicure over my natural nails. They were very busy as well and most people were getting pedicures. I plan to return for a pedicure.

What a great staff! I walked in for a pedicure and decided to do a manicure as well. Thomas ? was amazing! It had been a year since I got one of those legendary foot rub. It was epic. I almost fell asleep in the chair. While I was getting my manicure I received a really heavy text message. Try as I might, I couldnt hold back the tears. He was very kind and didnt make me feel foolish while he finished painting my nails. While they were drying I bumped two nails while I was clumsily wiping away tears. When I was paying out he noticed even though I was trying not to let him see them. He had done such a good job and had already patiently fixed one nail before for he same reason. He insisted I let them be fixed and ushered me to a lovely lady to do damage control. What great attention to detail and kindheartedness. Great Nails will always be my favorite spot to check out and have a little me time. Thank you all so much!

I went in with a normal looking toe nail and left with half a terribly painted nail 😳 the picture with the paint on my toe knuckle was when they said they were finished and they left. I went up to the counter and showed them and they said they would fix it... and then they “repainted” and told me it looked great (the other pictures). I’ve never had such a terrible experience anywhere. Be warned. I’m still in shock. I’m gonna have to wait awhile before my toe looks normal again!

I walked in (walk-ins welcome!) They were busy and asked if we could come back in 30. Totally did and there were still 4 people waiting, a few appointments that were also asked to wait and not enough people working for the obvious wait. It was tough to tell how they sanitize their tools, if at all and 100% chaotic vibe, not relaxing. I walked out with no service. Will not be returning.

My roommate brought me here after I complained about my previous set / nail experience. This place was awesome! I am very skeptical about shaping, color, design, service, and I sometimes go back and reshape my nails at home after leaving a salon. I get acrylic stiletto nails with a design. Tom was my nail technician at Great Nails & Spa and the amount of time and detail into pampering, shaping and painting my nails was perfect. I also last minute decided to get a pedicure, and the time spend on the experience was fantastic. I will absolutely be coming back here!

Ask for one of the guys and youll probably be ok but the older lady who sits in the front is a disaster. Was way aggressive on my cuticles, took four different kinds of files to my thin nails and got shellac all over my fingers. I give it two days before it peels off.

A really great hidden gem of a nail place! This was the best pedicure I’ve ever had - the prices weren’t outrageous, they did so much more massaging and extra stuff that I’ve never gotten before, and everyone is so friendly and helpful - would recommend!

Ive been going here on and off for 3 years and I usually love it but these past few times I was done! I made a appointment and when I got there no one greeted me they just looked at me. Finally someone says what do I need I say I have a appointment and I want a manicure they sit me in a chair for 20 minutes while they take care of walk in customers! Im trying to be calm okay fine. Finally! after 15 minutes of everyone getting treated and me just there someone comes up to me and starts remove my old gel! She files my nails so hard she actually made me bleed! I sit there for another 30 with acidtone wrapped around my fingers when finally this guy comes up to me and does my nails after almost an hour of me sitting there! He had so much attitude! Im not the kind of person to say its because Im a women of color but I mean I can only assume! I always tip Im always saying thank you please Im never rude and I always try to be nice but I was very aware that they were tending to the other costumers even though I had a appointment! And just the way they were treating me as though they were so bothered by helping me. I left so upset! Ill never return again I was embarrassed some lady next to me actually said she couldnt believe they were acting this way! Ive always gone there but not anymore! I went to Pearls nails and spa they were so much nicer! Lots of parking no bad attitudes and did a great job! Look them up if you want a great manicure!!!

Ive had my nails for a week and half and most of them have come loose. When I was getting them done, the tips wouldnt stay on till he started putting the polish and dip.

This place just charged $50! For a pedicure! I asked why so much?? They said because I got shellac! Wow....Ive been to many upscale places and never paid that much, shellac or no shellac!Not only that, but all of the tools they used were not new, and not even sanitized! This place has the best prices in town and they consistently do great work. They also do a quick massage at the end of most nail services so that is a nice bonus. I skip many places close to where I live to come here. For a combination of price and quality they can’t be beat.

So I come here and see Tony. I play sports but had a major issue with biting my nails. So my friend suggested this. It looks nice and I stopped sticking my hands in my mouth! Thanks for keeping my man nails in check! The Hubs appreciates not having to tell at me for biting my dirty nails!!!

Always the best! Matt is a magician. Its like having your nails done by a hand surgeon. But in all honesty, is come just for the massage at the end.

Love this place! Always clean, friendly, and accommodating - they are usually pretty busy though so walk ins can be tough during peak times. First thing that I didn’t like was the fact that I’m a trans woman sitting there done up waiting for someone to help me, and half the staff just stared at me like an animal.Once someone came over to ask me what I was getting done, I was trying to tell them about the nails I was wanting done and couldn’t hardly hear the nail tech speak to me.Once they started working on my nails, he ended up telling me they didn’t have any nail extensions that would fit my hands and just stared at me like he couldn’t do anything with me. 10/10 would not recommend this place.

I went in for a simple manicure at a really busy time. The place was crowded, and yet they took me within 15 minutes. The manicure was done with no soaking - be prepared! Tools were not sterilized. All in all, however, I am glad with the results, and loved the back massage which was included. Great!However, almost no service person spoke to me; communication was mainly by gestures and signs. In the middle of the process the manicurist got up and left and another person took her place. No explanations...I did not know whom to tip at the end.The price was right.Would I go again? Perhaps, will try another place for comparison, first...

I stopped going when this place got popular during the cali invasion. However it is Much better since they expanded the service floor. I no longer feel like herded cattle. It can be peaceful depending on the time of day. Appointments are useful. Techs have varied skill levels so do your homework. I only let 3 ppl work on me here. Bring head phones, when its crowded its loud.

Nails for my pedi came out great and I love the message! I belive its fairly priced and actually cheaper than what Im used to. Costumer service was good, the only thing was that they could be a bit more clean.

We called to see if there was availability or if we needed to make an appointment for acrylic manicures. We were told to just come in, and gave our name. Parking was a disaster, just starting off. We walk in and give our names, and they place us in open spots. I then proceed to let the nail technician know what I wanted, which she seemed confused and explained that I would have to wait another hour for someone to be available for that. I explained that Im just not interested in a regular manicure, which she kept trying to push on me. So I had to just sit and wait for my sister to finish hers since they had already started on hers. Definitely will not be returning to this spot. They should have asked us to make an appointment upon our first inquiry when we called before driving over.

Fast walk-in service. Busy place full of seats & employees. Pleasant decor & music, comfortable. I got a great gel manicure and was surprised at the fantastic arm & shoulder massage at the end! Exceeded my expectations.

I love great nails and spa. The place is always clean, plays nice music and does a fantastic job! George takes his time on my nails and he always makes sure that they will last, which I appreciate so much. I walk out feeling fabulous. I highly recommend this salon to everyone. It is also BYOB so having a nice bottle of wine makes the place even more enjoyable.

Good but not great. The salon is clean, comfy, and up to date. They are pretty crowded at all hours, which I guess is a good sign, but both times Ive been there the service felt rushed and the quality wasnt anything to write home about. Decent, but again not great, selection of colors - better for regular polish than gel. They do give fabulous massages during the pedicure and include a brief shoulder/neck massage with manicures, which is nice.

SO many people love this place, but I dont get it. Its like a factory - its overcrowded, not clean, SUPER strong smells, not relaxing at all. Not bad if youre just in need of a simple service, but definitely nothing special.

Hands down, the best pedicure Ive ever had in my entire life. Their prices are about the same as other salons in Austin, but they really do offer so much more. In addition to the standard foot scrub, the pedicurists really go above and beyond, massaging the feet and legs for a generous amount of time. It’s so incredible, even my boyfriend liked it. Everyone is so friendly, they really make you feel comfortable and relaxed. It’s apparent they have a loyal following based on how many regulars come in within the hour. After discovering this haven, I won’t go anywhere else in Austin.

I am from out of town and this is the BEST nail salon I have ever been too. We made appointments and although they were very busy they sat us down right away and got started! The guy that did my nails did such a fabulous job, I cant stop staring at my nails, i am obsessed!! He also gave me the most amazing massage that I needed so badly. I will recommend this nail salon to anyone. I wish I could drive the 3 hours everytime to get my nails done!!

This place is not my favorite. Ive had way better. The guy doing my pedicure was too rough. He seemed like he had been doing this job way too long and was over it. Also, had they developed a website they would be able to tell potential customers that they only take cash tips. Who wants to go to an ATM to get cash and go back just to tip? Not me. Thats something I would have liked to know before I went. Definitely not going back.

This place is great! I got a simple pedicure and the massage was so freaking good. He really put effort into working the muscles on my shins and calves. Unfortunately, the nail polish smudged almost immediately on my big toe. Upon closer inspection when I got home, I noticed the color wasnt painted on in a thick coat; I could see my nails showing through the thin layer of nail polish. I am taking off a star for this reason. I would definitely go back, I would just be sure to inspect the work a little bit more closely and ask for an additional layer of nail polish if I noticed this again.

Went in with my mom for my birthday to get the deluxe pedicure (75 minutes) and manicure. Unfortunately, it was not a relaxing experience. The nail techs had super loud conversations and the manicure itself was not good. I got a buff out instead of polish, and they didnt even get all of my old polish off before sending me out on my way.

Ive been here twice so far and plan to keep going back! The staff is very friendly and accommodating! They are always packed when Ive been there and even with a reservation, I had to wait a little while, but its worth the wait. A shellac manicure is only $25!!! Also, even though I keep forgetting, this place is BYOB! So grab a beer/wine and get ready to have happy nails!

Great Nails is always, well, great! They have plenty of chairs and many staff members. From going many times, there are many regulars that prefer their favorite technicians. I am not picky and have only had a couple of mediocre experiences at worst. The rest were all perfect and better than expected.

I must have missed something with this place having high ratings. Not mediocre, but I wouldn’t call it top notch. Busy place, lots of staff so you can get anyone. When I asked who is the best nail technician for French and Pedi the leader said “everyone.” Friendliness doesn’t seem natural. No conversation or eye contact. The first man doing my nails stopped mid way and walked away. Another guy sat down and proceeded to complete. No introduction no information about the change. When I asked he said the first guy went to the bathroom, but he never came back. For the pedicure I had to ask and ensure that the tools being used were sterilized. That concept seemed foreign given the looks on faces...

Great service and friendly staff. Their manicures and pedicures are very reasonably priced! It gets a little crowded weekday evenings but if you make an appointment they are quick to get you in and out! I highly recommend this salon and its BYOB!

I made an appointment in the morning for 5:30 pm. for full set and the girl said yes we’ll put you down for 5:30. I get there at 5:25 only for them to tell me they’re 3 guys short can I come back at 6:45. WTF is the point of making an appointment if you’re not going to honor it 👎🏻 Never going back to this place. Are there any good nail salons left in Austin? Someone please let me know

Best leg and foot massage that Ive ever had with a pedicure. Just great. This place is extremely popular. All chairs were filled and people waiting at 4 pm on a Thursday. They do a very good job too.

Ive been to this place a few times and the pedicures seem to be a hit or miss depending on the technician. Always a great massage though. Today I got a gel manicure from Tom and it was perfect! He is so meticulous when shaping my nails and making sure no nail polish got on my skin, never seen anyone so thorough in regards to this. His massage was also great. Things to keep in mind, it didnt seem to be as sanitary as some other times when they unpack new/clean equipment in front of you which did bother me a little. Also, Tom doesnt converse which is totally fine and he wasnt about trying to help me find the color that matched my pedicure but again I dont consider either of those to be a big deal as long as my nails look and feel great which happened when Tom did my nails. Highly recommend him just make sure to know what you want.

I love this place! When I moved back to Austin, it was one of the first places I went to. I live on the North side of Austin but I keep going back because no matter where else I go, either the service or quality never measures up. Ive tried going to two places that are a few minutes from me and the gel nails (shellac SP?) never lasts as long as at Great Nails & Spa and you dont get nearly as good or long massage either. You get a full arm and shoulder massage here, its awesome!

Its a great nail salon that appears to be busy from opening to close. For $25.00, you get a lot of premium treatments like sea salt scrub, clay mask for your legs, and hot towels. The salon is clean and neat and the service is great. I would come back again!

Id never been here before so when I walked in and saw all the pedicure chairs were occupied, I thought this was the place to be! I only went for a manicure and had to ask my technician five times to make my nails the same length. She took great care with shaping my nails, but clipped my cuticle pretty badly. I sat at the dryer for about three minutes before it was even turned on. The technician was very nice but this experience reminded me why I dont waste my money on manicures. :/

First time going there, eager to know if the reviews I read were true, and they definitely were... went in for a mani/pedi with shellac and received Great service... both my hands/feet got 4 coats of nail polish along with an awesome massage thats included!... what I loved about it the most, was even though people kept coming in for services not one of the employees (from what I saw) hurried the service they were giving to the client... they take the time to render Great service...
