Misdiagnosed my dog with corneal dystrophy. I requested a fluorescein stain because many moons ago I was a vet tech and it looked like a textbook eye ulcer to me, however during the appointment the vet called and said she wouldn’t do the stain because she was sure it was corneal dystrophy, which in her defense is a common ailment for my dog’s breed. I paid for an additional $300 in tests, and all came back normal. She reached out to an eye specialist that has never seen my dog and told me to have her spayed as this would be permanent, but my dog was spayed years before visiting this clinic. I was told not only would the spot on her eye never go away, but would get worse with time. Cut to a couple month’s later...and her eye has completely healed. Now I feel like a bad dog owner because she’s been masking her pain all this time, and a simple stain would have led to a proper diagnosis and a quicker healing time. I will find a new veterinarian I can trust. This clinic is great if you just need basic checkups and vaccinations, but it doesn’t seem they know much beyond that.
These Doctors are exceptional. Ive found Dr. Carpenter to be quite thorough, an honest communicator, and very knowledeable.
Bee Cave Veterinary Clinic is Top Notch!!I was overwhelmed by the courtesy, professionalism and compassion my cat and I received, from moment one.My cat was calm when he was brought out to me, I could see right away he was treated kindly. Both Doctors communicated, in detail, the proposed treatment and up to the minute progress. The staff is fantastic. The Doctors are fantastic.Absolutely marvelous people and establishment.
Highly don’t recommend this place.
We have taken four cats to this clinic over the past 11 years. Snake bites, abcesses, behavioral issues, you name it. Dr. Reinap and his staff have always been very good with the cats, and we have had good luck getting them all healthy again.
It’s nice to have a vet close by who really cares about our animals.
Our “baby” ( Shitz tzu ) had an eye infection. If it wasn’t for this clinic he probably would of lost his eye. After a few months he grew a bump on his butt and had some teeth going bad. Once again they took great care of him. Surgically removed the bump and pulled all the teeth. Now he is acting like his old self again. Great staff that treat your dog as if it was theirs. You can trust them with your best friend.
I highly recommend Dr. Reinap and his team. Hes treated our Bichon since he was a baby.
Dr. Reinap sees all three of my dogs and has been their vet since late 2009. He loves animals, and his staff cares and actually calls to follow up (which is something that seems to be hard to come by these days). Hes very smart and willing to explain whats going on thoroughly. Hes also humble enough to admit when he is no longer the best person to handle a case. During a bizarre lung issue my spaniel had in 2012, he saw her on two separate visits, then when we realized the condition was worsening, gave me several options including a referral to an internal specialist. I have heard too many stories of vets that are apparently in it for the money, and would just try to keep the client at their facility even if its not the best choice for the animal. Ends up, he knew better than the vet I ended up seeing at the specialist (at least on the initial visit). The specialist didnt think it was more than kennel cough (which Dr. Reinap had ruled out), but on the second visit, she admitted it was something else and her condition was quickly becoming critical. Dr. Reinap had already figured that out! I definitely trust him, and greatly appreciate everything he has done for my fur babies!
We started going to Bee Cave Vet Clinic when we first relocated to Austin a couple of years ago with our two maltipoos. We had an emergency situation and Dr. Reinap kept the office open so we could rush in with our mischievous dog, Gigi. He went above and beyond for our little girl. Since then we have built quite the relationship with the staff at the vet clinic. Our dogs love the vet tech, Alana. Recently, we have faced some challenges with our two dogs. Our one dog was diagnosed with Addisons Disease and one month later, our other dog was diagnosed with cancer. Dr. Reinap is very knowledgable and compassionate and it is because of his knowledge and quick thinking, they are both doing well today.
Very friendly staff and the doc was extremely helpful in our emergency. Thank you!
