I have gone on multiple tours at different locations most of the leasing agent were rude. The leasing agent Janae was a sweet young lady that took the time to have an actually conversation with me. She was very helpful and answered all my questions. The courtyard is absolutely beautiful and the water fall is a nice touch. The units are very spacious.
Ive lived at Sunset Pointe for a few years now and let me tell you I couldnt be happier. Sunset Pointe always seems to go above and beyond to accommodate me. Ive dealt with Jennifer multiple times and she is always professional and she and her team seem to genuinely care about me and my concerns. I have lived at numerous apartments my whole life in Albuquerque but have never been treated this good, they treat me like family. God Bless you Jennifer and the team at Sunset Pointe!
I lived at Sunset Pointe for five years and had a great time there. Spacious apartments, nice courtyard area, and a beautiful mountain view. The office staff always answered my questions and were helpful with my moving around in the complex (one to two bed, then back to one). The few maintenance problems I did have were fixed promptly and the guys were always super nice and friendly. Lots of people posting about car theft/break ins, but my car sat on that lot overnight for years and never had any issues! No bugs/roaches either, pest control sprayed regularly. I moved out of state, but if I ever return to ABQ, Id live here again!
Place is not professional at all.. Applied on indeed.com got job interview.. Went filled out 5 pages for application then they tell me that I had to be a high school graduate like it says on there indeed page.. It dont say anything like that on there page or I would have never wasted my time in trying to get the job.. False advertising on there end. Place didnt look like a good place to work or live anyway. Everything happens for a reason! Thank you!
Sunset point used to be great but has become terrible over the past year and a half. First the elevators were constantly out of service which was very difficult when you live on the 4th floor, next the plumbing, they have turned off the water at least once a week due to emergencys for the last 8 months. Then they changed to having an outside service process the electric bills, which then doubled since they started charging us for water trash sewer etc. To top all that they have decided to rent out the office and pool for a movie, which is taking at least half of the residents parking including the covered parking which is paid for by renters without offering any compensation to its resident s for the inconvenience, yet they are getting paid to do it. Save your money go elsewhere. I know I sure am.
Good luck trying to apply for an apartment! At the beginning it runs smoothly with the application process but once your denied its a done deal. They wont be able to tell you why you were denied and offer no willingness to work with you.
Used as a set for Better Call Saul, season 6 episode 5Looked like a comfy place.
Nice, quiet and has lovely little water display. Gated. Great place!!
I have lived for over 4 years. I really enjoy it and could not have found a better apartment. Landscaping is beautiful and it is so peaceful. Maintenance is wonderful with getting their work orders done within a timely manner. Office staff are delightful and try to help as best they can with any concerns that you may have. I absolutely love it here.💜💙💚
I really enjoy living here. Staff is always friendly. There have been no issues for the past year I have been her. maintenance is excellent. The few times I needed some thing repaired it was done quickly. I plan on living here for quite awhile.
Nice apartments at reasonable prices and the amenities are being updated.
I dont live there, but I would. Place was clean, orderly.
My husband and I have been here since September of 2019 and we LOVE it!! The courtyard is gorgeous and the apartment units are very homey. And most importantly the management is beyond amazing. They made the process so easy. So if anyone is looking for apartments I would Highly recommend Sunset Pointe Apartments!
I moved in 3 years ago and it was a lot nicer back then. There was a beautiful stream that ran through the courtyard, but it hasn’t since last summer. I ask often about it’s repair but they always have a different excuse $$$. The elevator breaks down often and since we have only had occasional housekeeping for some time now it usually has someone’s spilled substance on the floor so you have to watch where you step. Cigarette butts inhabit the ground especially by the gates and are never removed. Other than that, the rent is decent, the office staff wonderful, good lawn maintenance, and superb maintenance staff!
I love the how friendly Jennifer and Jahnay are they were very helpful The maintenance guys are very prompt and on time and they make sure everything fixed and working right. very good place to live i would definitely recommend the apartment to everyone.
When I first moved in this was an amazing place to live. The maintenance men have been incredibly helpful and kind in every way possible. The bedrooms are very big and overall this seemed like a great place. During the showing you could tell jahney really wanted us to rent and if we didn’t it wasted her time. All they really want is your money. After the sixth month lease expired I had no idea I had to give a thirty day notice only on the first. Most places I had talked to about this not only showed me that that is not something that’s normal but they sat down with me and read the lease to me and explained it so that I could 100% understand everything. My paper was stolen from the apartment door and when we tried turning the 30 day notice in they said we need to not only pay for the monthly rent again (again won’t be living there during that month and they knew that) but I also had to wait before they would release anything to the new apartment complex that had been trying to work with them the whole time, slowing down my process of getting into the new apartment. We had talked to everyone who was in the office and they all said the same thing that just because the paper was stolen off the door I should’ve known they only accept it on the first. Me and my co-signer had called to try to work with them and ended up paying and losing so much money. They will take all the money they can from you as they lack communication and empathy for residents here. The other part of this also falls into management. On the apartments.com website that they use as their website to show they have higher ratings to con you into renting with them, they say there are security cameras and someone watches the parking lot and patrols it for this apartment and the neighboring one. We have talked to other residents about the cars being broken into almost nightly, my boyfriends car was stolen and so we called the apartments to see if there was any kind of footage which their response was “it’s too dark and there camera doesn’t reach your car”. Our car was parked on the west side of the apartment right in front of the windows where there are two cameras pointing. They also said they’ll look at the cameras and call me back in a couple hours which after one day I had to call them back, speak with a completely different person, and she told that they can’t and won’t help us because “there’s nothing that they can do”. Within the 6 months I’ve lived here I’ve never seen as many car break ins in one day and the apartments doing nothing about it and I’ve lived in abq all my life. These apartments will be so kind when you sign the lease but then turn around and will not help you or will refuse to work with you. I feel like because I am so young they saw me as a way to profit off the fact. Over the phone I had stated to them I will not talk to them until I have someone who knows more about leases and fine print with me which they still then tried talking to me until I said they’ll be here soon we’ll call back which was discarded and we called back and they acting like I never called. They tried telling us that we in fact did get the paper that stated we had to pay the last months rent as we will not be living there when we called for the sole reason of not knowing of the paper. Neither did the assistant manager or the property manager listen to us and tried to make themselves look as if there was no wrongdoing here. Please do not waste your time with these people, they won’t care about you and will take advantage of you. There are much better apartments in this state with better management. I had rented with rhino reality before and they had done everything they could for us and during a domestic violence situation they were understanding and allowed us to break the lease and gave us the security deposit back. People have rented with them for years so shout out to them for being an amazing team. Also places around unm have been incredibly kind to us. Spend ur money elsewhere it’s not worth the stress or headache
Overall great experience living here the last 2 years. Apartments are quite spacious, especially for the price, and the grounds are well-kept. Only complaints are how the elevators break down every so often and loud cars speeding by the building at night (obviously, theres not much the apartment complex can do about that, but something to keep in mind if youre thinking of moving here).
The maintenance employees are wonderful! They do a great job. I have lived here for many years and the only complaint I have is that my rent is raised EVERY year. I would think that being a loyal long time resident would entitle me to not having a rent increase every year. I have periodically asked for no increase and my request is always denied.
I have lived here for nearly two years and there is nothing much I can complain at. The best thing I love here is that the maintenance staff always react very fast and do great jobs.
Sunset pointe is great place to call home! Jahnay the leasing agent took her time to make sure I had the apartment home I wanted as well as needed. She made me feel welcomed. The office staff Jahnay and Jennifer are amazing they are always so nice and friendly. Also very helpful and patient. I won’t be leaving anytime soon.
Terrible experience. Elevator is constantly down and I was given incorrect information that cost me money. Heed my warning and dont live here!!! My apt flooded, I received a letter accusing me of having someone living with me that was completely false, and staff is poorly trained with lack of empathy and customer service.***While I appreciate you now taking the opportunity to show empathy to my experience, it saddens me you did not do that while I was a tenant. You state this miscommunication was from a brand new team member, however this misinformation was given to them by your assistant manager while I was on the phone, that assistant manager is not new. I do appreciate that you are going to use this opportunity as a teaching opportunity which was a request when I spoke with Sharon, part of higher level Management. The biggest frustration with this miscommunication is that the lack of training with your staff has caused me to pay extra. Which I would not have had to pay had they understood their own terms and agreements. You state that this information is in the lease, but people don’t carry their lease with them everywhere they go, and I was given my lease two years ago and was calling from work when I asked to make sure that I was following the rules. In regards to addressing resident issues this has been pattern of poor management over the seven years I have lived at this apartment complex. The elevator is consistently not working and when brought up to management I have received responses such as “we have stairs” and “it is not a requirement to have an elevator”. As a mother with a small child walking up four flights of stairs this is a major impact, especially when they were a newborn. I have seen people struggling to get up and down the stairs and this displays an extreme lack of empathy towards others’ needs as well as their safety. My child’s father went to the front office to express his concerns with the elevator being down for weeks. Rather than respond with empathy of the situation, they asked him if he was a resident as if validating if he had the right to raise a concern. While my child’s father does not live in our apartment he does have the right to raise this concern and that should not have been their response. Following this interaction I received a letter from the front office demanding I add my child’s father to the lease even though he was not a resident of our apartment. This again is another frustration and mismanagement of this process due to lack of training.Due to poor repairs done on my ceiling, it caused my apartment to flood. Management had me stay in a guest rental room while they worked on the apartment. During this time there was a lack of communication, I had to keep following up with them to the point where I had to contact Sharon for help. Prior to me moving back into my apartment, they committed to replacing my carpet and cleaning my damaged furniture. When I moved back in, they had not cleaned my furniture and the carpet was in disrepair, I again had to follow up with the office to get this completed as per their commitment.
I recently wrote a review regarding the management at Sunset pointe and I was wrong for what I said… I listened to other people not knowing the things people had did to deserve the consequences and actions that took place. I had a problem with my locks and management; especially Jen was so quick to help and do what she could above and beyond to make sure I was all set . After my review she came and talked to me and made sure I felt comfortable and safe. ! Great place to live and I’m so glad moving from Massachusetts I wound up here !
I lived here for 3 years and the worst mistake I made was leaving. Staff is amazing and friendly. They host great get togethers and respect the tenants. Parking was good, it was never too crowded.
I loved living here! The center courtyard is beautiful with grass, trees, a stream, and a pool. The staff is great! I never heard my neighbors because of the cement slab construction.
If there was an option to give a zero rating, this place earns it. If you are looking for a dive where management treats you like last years rotting garbage, youre in luck. YOU FOUND IT! The place is not up to code and should be condemned. Office staff and owners belong in prison. Fraud abounds here.
I have been living here going on 6 months. Very friendly and comfortable living place .People are very friendly and the staff also very friendly wanting to help the residents landscape is always kept up and maintenance is good if there is a problem. I recommend this property.
Been here for almost four years. Love the Christmas, Summer, and other Holiday events. Had to rent the Club house for a private party and it was cheaper to rent here than any other place. Feels so peaceful.
Ive been living here for one year now and intend to renew my lease as Ive been very pleased with my overall experience. I moved down from Indiana with only the website images and the genuine friendly manner with which the management team embraced my questions and requests via multiple phone calls to go by, and after arriving I found my intuitions accurate that there was to be no illusions of distinction between the advertisements and the actual comforts of the apartment. The location is prime, centered within three miles of everything you can need as far as entertainment, food and necessity goes. The residents are friendly, respectful and ideally quiet. The staff is equally friendly and prompt to respond to any requests. Although there was at one point a series of car break-ins a few months back, this has since ceased due to an increase in security measures specifically overnight guard patrol. The courtyard has a wonderful little running brook, a pool and childrens play area all of which is maintained beautifully. If you are looking for nice, safe place to live Sunset Pointe is for the price the best option around.
I have lived at sunset pointe apartments for 4 years and have been happy to come back again to live here I have been here in 2006 and movies and lived at other places and dident like it at those please and came back here and have been here with my 2 service dogs and had the best staff and help that I can have. Thanks to this place it is still the same as it was. To be more happy now since it is more quit as it has been ever and I am more happy now as I can be ever.
I to live here at sunset pointe apartments. I pay my rent on time and Ive lived here for 2 months now and within those two months Ive been harassed and being watched to see whom goes in and out of my apartment. Ive seen cockroaches in my apartment, ac dont work. We tell management but they act like theyre the victim. My husband son and I were playing outside on the grass and the maintenance guy comes up to to us telling us not to be throwing any Rocks inside the water fountain because we might break the fan which we never threw rocks in the water fountain Were adults playing with our kid. something really needs to be done about this apartment complex and management. I find this place not rentable. Its constantly going to make you feel depressed everyday wondering what youre doing wrong when you get home which you arent doing anything wrong.
BLUE awnings? If not for blue awnings this 4-story square brown brick building is so nondescript its beyond boring. And even if you take a really close look past the blue awnings its likely you still wont realize the four 4-story walls completely surround and hide a park bigger than many of the citys neighborhood parks. And most of whats inside those four walls is under a variety of shade trees including Ponderosa Pines (my fav). So its a nice shaded walk when you carry your picnic basket over one of the bridges that arches over the stream youll have to cross in order to get to your favorite picnic table.Anything sounding familiar? You might have seen it on TV if you watch Better Call Saul, ( in the show, its not Sunset Pointe, they call it Sandpiper Crossing). Its always fascinating watching it being filmed, but I dont catch it every time, and for some reason they wont give me their filming schedule?Management and maintenance - very professional & quick to respond. And go above and beyond catering to request Im sure theyre not required to do, but if its reasonable and they have the time itll get done.So throw the steaks on that outdoor grill next to your favorite picnic table, and call me when theyre ready
Much like another reviewer on here, my car was also broken into. Twice. And stolen once! Heres the thing:This apartment complex is great. Friendly staff, great interiour view, the pool is awesome, and Ive never really had any big issues.UNFORTUNATELY. Maintenance is a bit lacking. Our AC didnt work the first two months we lived here, despite contacting maintenance every day to try and get it fixed. Eventually they came (when we didnt really need AC anymore) and fixed it for us...while leaving a huge mess behind. But, we havent needed maintenance since, so this place is pretty solid.ALSO car theft is a huge thing here. I live with another person and he also has his car broken into...twice. When my car was stolen the office staff were super helpful though. They helped me pinpoint the time it was taken and we checked all the cameras to get a good description of the getaway car. We ended up finding my car later that day, thanks to the quick response of APD and the office for helping me so quickly.TL;DR: Its actually a super good place to live for the price. Just make sure your car is protected and you stay on maintenance until they actually come help you.
Motel 6 with kitchenettes. I stayed for a week with a friend who lives here while my place was being painted. Its a four-story building with two elevators that seem to be out-of-order every few days. There are no patios, porches or balconies. If you want to sit outside your door, you are in the 5 wide walkway that everyone has to use. Passers-by can simply lean against your window to peek in. There is an outside postage stamp size pool for the 150-160 unit building. The building is highly visible on the main dragway through the NorthEast heights. This six-lane boulevard sees very heavy traffic and the noise is fierce. The four buildings and all doorways face an inner courtyard area that is beautifully landscaped with tall, mature trees, and a lot of grassy areas. The maintenance staff works very hard to keep the turf changed out, as the dogs take a heavy toll. In order to deal with the deafening traffic noise reverberating from the street, the owners have installed an artistic water feature, with flowing streams and fountain. Its very pretty but smells like a neglected fish tank, and the noise is overpowering. The apartments are small, but management does offer a guest quarters for short visits. It appears that the office staff lives elsewhere, but there is an emergency number. There is no security to speak of, and yes, there is often broken glass on the parking strips from auto burglaries. My brief stay here made me really appreciate my own apartment.
The good: Cheap rent, nice apartment, friendly people, and its a relatively quiet place to live. The bad: The false sense of security the apartment staff gives you when moving in. Heres my story in hopes that it changes something for the future:When you go into the leasing office, youre seated in perfect view of a screen showing about 12 different cameras watching the complex. When youre signing your lease, youre informed of after-hours security that is available. Well, its all for nothing. My car was broken into as I was moving into my apartment (quite literally, in-between trips to my car and my apartment, someone shattered my drivers window and took quite a bit of stuff). This happened for a couple of different reasons. First, the area is car theft central. I looked at a crime map, after the fact, and there have been 14 break-ins at the apartment alone in the past 6 months. Second, the apartment complex has more tenants than parking spots, so you often find yourself parking on the side of the building (where most of the break-ins happen).I informed the office of the break-in (I actually caught the thieves in my car while it was happening) and they told me they would review the tapes when they could, but it could be a while because they were busy. I heard nothing back. I called the next day and was told yeah, sorry it was too dark to see anything and you really shouldnt park on the side of the building. Yeah, thanks for informing me after the fact. A few days later, I called and asked how many different cameras they looked at. The thought behind this being that the getaway car did not just appear on the street and from the way it was angled, likely circled the parking lot (thus appearing on multiple cameras) before coming onto the side street. I was told we only looked at the one camera. I asked them to look at more and asked if I could also view the footage since I saw the robbery in action, it might help me remember more information for the police. They told me they would get back to me and never did.So, long story short, be careful here because if you get broken into, the leasing office will not help you at all. I write this review as another persons car glass is shattered all over the ground near the same spot as mine. Its an endless cycle and hopefully this review will make them change how they approach this.
Very beautiful complex! Very well taken care off and management is always helpful.
Don’t rent from these people. They deserve negative stars. The office staff is rude and unprofessional especially Jennifer. They put notices on residents doors almost everyday threatening to fine for little things like decorations around your door. The place is not safe. There are police signs everywhere telling residents to lock their cars. My car was broken into twice in six months and the office didn’t do anything or care. There is an elevator but is broken most of the time.Roaches are seen all over the property. The windows don’t lock so basically anyone can just open the window and walk into your apartment. I tried to secure my windows with a stick and they told me if I didn’t remove it, they would fine me.There are plenty of apartments in Albuquerque, choose one of those! The only positive about this place is their maintaince staff. Those guys are very nice but aren’t treated like they should be from management.
Dealt with constantly bad management and elevator broken and residents forced to walk up and down at least 5 times a year. Issues never taken seriously.
I thought this place was awesome... until the sewage overflowed. The office manager (Amy) and the head maintenance guy (Lee) kept saying things like oh, thank god it was just clean water; implying that it was just shower water that overflowed from the showers and toilets. The fourth time this happened (in the span of 14 months) I wised up enough to snap pictures of the copious amount of feces caking the inside of my tub. Upon seeing my pictures, Amy and Lee continued to deny that it was sewage, and refuse to do anything beyond cleaning our carpets. Code enforcement told me that theyd recommend Amy moving us to a new apartment ; she claims that they said nothing was wrong with the apartment.4 sewage overflows in just over 1 year, and nothing is wrong with the apartment? This would be a great place if it wasnt run by scumbags.
Unfortunately I live directly above people who play poker at least one night of every weekend. Their loud voices go on til long past midnight. This is a concrete and steel building so it seems the sounds travel through the ductwork. If I didnt mind playing my television all night long, I may not hear them over the television, but that defeats the purpose. I like be asleep by 11:00, but no such luck!
Worst experience ever!!! Well never try this place for living and call it our next home at any price and would continue to communicate our first experience with the property senior management:On Saturday 10/22 2016, I and my spouse with our two kids (one three months old) went to see the complex at 4:10pm local time. We called the leasing office in advance. Unfortunately, my spouse did forget to bring her State ID while she had her CNM (Photo ID) and original SOCIAL SECURITY card -- which wasnt accepted by this unprofessional and with less customer service experience lady (Jennifer) at the propertys leasing office. She demanded for her State ID, so I decided to drive back home and grab her State ID. The lady told us if we could make it back by 430pm, we will be able to see the property. So, we did return with the requested ID at 429pm according to leasing office WALL CLOCK and didnt know that this unprofessional lady will make another stupid excuse; she told us that her computer clock is 431pm now, so she cannot proceed with the request. We were totally shocked and tried convincing her to see the WALL CLOCK which was still 429pm but she ignored and kept telling us that her computer clock shows 431pm and she does not go by WALL CLOCK. She turned her face and didnt talk further, she never apologized for the inconvenience. Her reaction was so rude that we cant explain in writing.
Do not live in this apartment complex, you will regret it and you will loose your whole deposit.
Hidden shangri-la in ABQ
I have never done a review before in my life online until now! Rodents + cockroaches. DO NOT Rent here. I used GPS in photos on the 3rd pic as proof it was at the apartments.
Love the apartments!
