Great Fellers work an run this shop! Theyll make sure yer mechanical needs
Awesome mechanics they have always done me right good honest people
Took my sons 4runner to a local dealer shop for oil change and was told that the rear brakes needed to be replaced at the cost of $430.00 since they were below safety threshold. I knew the brakes were in good shape since we had the car gone through just about a year ago. Needless to say, I wanted a second opinion. I have taken our brake jobs and repairs to Slacks for years and always had an honest, fair price experience. After Bruce and Jeff checked the car out they confirmed my suspicion that the brakes (front and rear) were in good shape and had more than 60% left. I normally dont write reviews but Slacks deserves a SHOUT OUT for their continued HONESTY AND INTEGRITY!!! Give these guys a your business if you want an HONEST auto repair experience.Keep up the good work guys, it is appreciated!!! Final bill...Slacks charged me $10.00 for replacing the bad signal light bulb.J. Mann
Great people, great mechanics, outta all the shops around yuba city and marysvile they are honestly the best for service and great prices they take good care of my Chrysler 300 and are honest people . 100% recommend
Steve Slack is the best. Hes honest, super nice, fantastic work, fast and his prices are beyond fair. Lots of cool stuff to check out when you walk in to. Basically you cannot go wrong here. I tell everyone I know to go there because there is no one better.
They were super honest and fair priced. They made sure they knew for sure what was wrong with my car and fixed it the same day! I definitely would recommend them!!
They do great work and its completely honest work
Havent been here in a while, but I bring my car in from an hour drive away, wont trust anywhere else.
Love this small business. Fair prices compatible if not cheaper. Been goin here for years. Thank you
He was super honest, dont find that much anymore.
Our family has 7 cars, suvs and pickups and we take all of them to Slacks. The new owner Jeff and crew always do the job well and anytime we have had minor issues after a repair they gladly take care of it. They are a very busy shop, so if you want your auto back in the shortest amount of time, you need to call for an appointment. The cost there is reasonable...some other shops are outrageous and dont know of too many cheap car repair shops out there.Another plus is, they are open until 6:00 p.m. weekdays and usually at least a half day on Saturday.Long story short, we recommend them and will continue to take our autos there! =)
I will never go back to Slacks ever again. My boyfriends truck had a leak and needed the water pump replaced. We could not get the old one off so we brought it to Slacks with the new part in the bed of the truck. We told them what we needed. We got a call telling us that it was done and the cost. It was around $230 for the labor. Not a big deal. Then when my boyfriend went and picked it up he noticed the truck shook violently when he turned corners. We didnt know if we should take it back. It sat in the driveway for a week and I noticed that it was still leaking. So you guessed it we sent it back since that is what it went in for in the first place. My grandmother called them about the shaking and they told her it was the rack that was causing it. Funny because it never even shook the slightest before taking it there. They also said it was $800 dollars to fix. I called them back a week later since I didnt receive a phone call and asked about the leak as well. They told me the timing cover was leaking. They didnt give me an estimate on that and told me they have been really slammed. They told me before they closed at 5pm they would call me with that information. 5pm came and passed, no call. I thought well they will get back to me, but no. It took me calling again after another two weeks and my uncle to go up there for some information. They told him that they had a wrong number for me. There were two numbers on the sheet and when I called the first time why didnt they get the correct one if there was an issue. After all this time and $230 (the first time) plus $874 (the last time) the truck still shakes as bad. They also told us that steering fluid was incorrect that we put it, but someone else that works there said it looked clean and clear. Very confusing. I dont have anymore words to say, but WOW! Dont go there if you want your vehicle to run smooth and be fixed.
Great guys, been going here for years. Steven sold it, but the new crew is great
Steve is the best. He will not beat around the bush. He gives it to you straight up! Prices are very fair as well!
This is a great shop. I had a front suspension issue and I took it to les Schwab. They said a few parts were worn out and needed to be replaced. Not willing to pay what they wanted I found slacks and took it there. They quoted me a really nice price and I was ready to do it. Then one of the mechanics came back and said the parts were fine and it was only a loose nut. Their honesty cost them $600.00 but saved it for me. Friendly, honest, professional I highly recommend them. They even have a shop cat running around that my daughter loved. Go here!
The water pump in my truck went out (only transportation I have) I brought it over in the morning and it was done and ready for pickup that afternoon. Thanks guys!!Lisa G.
There is no mechanic like these guys at Slacks. The owner is hands down the most honest guy you will meet. I didnt even know Mechanics came that way! He is efficient and will not rip you off. I always go away thinking Its only that much, wow! I have been going to him for like 20 years. He is respectful and does not treat women like they are stupid like some mechanics tend to do. I refer everyone to him.
Very helpful with my a/c system.
Fixing our van as we r camp fire survivors they have made us feel like family and they r makeing sure our van is safe to drive across the states
Steve is such a nice guy. His work is fast. And he does it for reasonable prices.
Slacks came well recommend to me . I am a victim of campfire out of paradise living in a motel. I dont have much n I trusted these guys with my car. The last 3weeks I have been very deeply depressed. I had my car towed there do to not starting, overheating. I put my code reader on it. It said 2,3,4 cyclinders r misfiring n someone said there was water in number 2 spark plug. When I had my car towed they said it wouldnt be until the following Monday before they could take a look at it. I put a note to them in my car driver seat n it said car wont start, its overheating, n it miss fires n whatever u can find just plz call with estimate. They never called I always had to call they gave it a tune-up put new thremastat in. Cost me 280.00. labor way more then the parts. I had to send my friend on his bike chz I couldnt get a ride n no to taxis around. So got it back. Then I was sick so couldnt go anywhere . Then I had probation in Oroville. It took me 4 hours to get there cause my car overheated more then it did going in the shop. I started crying n went in deep deep depression. I have no words I lost everything. Bought me a VW Jetta for 1,500.00 n drove it for 3 months. Now I havent been able to drive it since it went in slacks automotive shop. I have put in a new thremastat, waiting for a real mechanic dont have no money to pay anyone. Put the code tester back on it now it reads1234 cylinders r misfiring. Wow they did me wrong. N they caused me to almost hurt myself . They suck n my car still not moving
Best in town, hands down! Highly Recommend Steve and his guys!
