Recently moved to a different part of York and was in search of a good garage. Jim garage is a honest garage with integrity. I knew the tires were getting close to needing replaced, they passed but told me this winter they are not going to be great. Jim provided me quotes for several different tires without any pressure to buy as the car had already passed state and emissions test. My wife and I will be coming back as we look forward to providing them business. It is nice to deal with honest and respectful mechanics who are awesome at their job.

This was my first experience with the commonwealths vehicle inspection requirement as we just moved from a state that doesnt pillage their own residents. 🙂Thanks to my neighbor for recommending Jims.Jims shop has an old school auto repair feel with modern twists: they have text & email capability and they accept credit cards.I was kept fully apprised of a minor repair issue and found the shop flexible with the inspection and after hours pick up of my vehicle.I dont think you could go wrong using Jims for your vehicle needs and they will most certainly be my go to from now on.

Made an appointment for inspection, got it in pretty quickly. They have a night key drop box with envelopes and pens which came in handy. Inspection went smoothly, no issues.Will definitely go back. They seemed very nice.

In for a routine oil change. Dale never lets me leave without making sure he has addressed any concerns in my vehicle. Gary as usual is great and always explains clearly the plan to keep my vehicle in top running order.I wouldnt trust anyone else with my car care. Gary was excellent to work with! My vehicle had been towed to his shop and Gary immediately diagnosed the problem. Upon learning that it would be a $3,000 fix, Gary gave us time to decide what we wanted to do with the vehicle and did not put any pressure on us to dump money into a vehicle that wasnt worth it. Gary provided great customer service every step of the way and I would not hesitate to use his garage in the future!

This is my first time using Gary and his team at Jim’s Auto Service and it was a great experience!! I had an issue with my Jeep Wrangler, where it felt like it was starting to develop a death wobble, between 50-55 mph the shimmy would be terrible. I started off with getting the 33” mud tires balanced at a tire shop. I later had them rechecked at another shop and adjustments were made, but the shimmy did not go away. I took the Wrangler to Gary and he said he would take a look at it. They stripped the old weights off and started from scratch, rebalanced the mud tires to as near perfect as you get with mud tires. The Jeep drives like a dream compared to what it was like before. Turns out it wasn’t death wobble just wheel balance, Gary and his crew got it straightened out.

Took my car to Gary at Jims Auto Repair after my previous mechanic recommended a $1200 fix for a non-issue on my car with 200,000 miles on it. Gary kept my car state worthy (it has always run great) without breaking my bank account. I give them 5 stars because I cant give them 10!

This place is a jewel! Between the fair pricing and the friendly service, they will now be my go-to repair shop from now on. They dont engage in the upsell and add-on tactics like the corporate shops.
