My dealer couldnt accommodate me for 2 weeks but AAA was able to get my service scheduled (online no less) as soon as I wanted it. They were faster and less expensive than my dealerships and AAA used synthetic oil while charging less than my dealership does for conventional oil. I have used them several times now for simple and more complexed repairs. They have always done a good job for a fair price. Glad we have them near by.
The mechanic did not adequately perform the diagnostic checks on my 4RUNNER. Resulting in unnecessary repairs and spending more money. I would have given one star but the Facility Supervisor, Jim was really amazing and adequately addressed my dissatisfaction. The mechanic in my opinion was not a professional, however Jim provided monetary compensation making the situation much better. Thank you Jim.
Recently got an oil change, technician took photos of CV axle.. Needed replacing.. 170k miles.. Okay, Took 4 hours, paid our way to and from using uber.. Had a great time at the mall. Plus, comes with 2 year warranty. Could not get that kind of warranty anywhere else that we checked. Overall great people, great experience.
We had not been to this AAA Car Center before for car maintenance. Our engine warning light stayed on and the car needed immediate attention. The manager of the center, Crystal Richmond, opened the door for us and greeted us with a very friendly welcome coming out of the rain, and even though we didnt have an appointment, she had our car promptly troubleshooted and went over a maintenance plan to address the cars issues. It is a 19 year old car and, despite this, all items were fixed promptly and professionally. The same day, she emailed us a complete car analysis, to include photos, with areas of the car needing some attention in the near future, as well as highlighting areas that were in good condition. Highly recommend the Military Cutoff AAA Car Care Center for prompt, professional and friendly car care service!
My heater hose disconnected and coolant sprayed all over my engine. I have AAA so I was having it towed to my usual mechanic, but the lady I talked to on the phone from AAA for towing my car convinced me to have it towed to AAA car care for a 10 percent off discount and a 2,400 mile warranty with the fix. I live in Leland, and she had said that there was a car care center 5.7 miles from me. Firstly, this car care center was actually 16 miles from where my car was, and it was about a 30 minute drive. I had to leave my car over night so that they could fix it the next day, which was replacing the inlining, heater hose and thermostat. They said they weren’t sure if the thermostat was fried or not so the recommended replacing it. This ran me a total of about $500, in which I am not sure if this was a reasonable price or not, I am checking with my other mechanic, but it seems pretty high for a “common problem”. Anyways I paid the money for my car to be fixed and when I got home there was still dried coolant all over my engine and they did not even fill up the coolant. I called back and he told me that I could either bring the car back (30 minutes away), or I could fill it myself. I had also told him about the dried coolant all over my engine and he told me that it’s really hard to get off and that you need “special cleaning tools”. I JUST WALKED OUTSIDE WITH A DAMP RAG AND IT ALL WIPED RIGHT OFF NO PROBLEM, I didn’t even have to put force behind it. It literally wiped off with ease. So he obviously lied to me because they were lazy. I paid $500 bucks and they couldn’t even take the time to wipe off my engine, or fill up my coolant that had emptied from the problem I had fixed. I really hope they fixed my car’s problem right, because their integrity isn’t very convincing. Luckily I have the 2,400 mile warranty, because if their mechanic skills are as poor as their integrity, my car might break down again.

Absolutely the worst service ever experienced. Out of town car break down on a Saturday afternoon, car towed to their location approximately 2.5 hours before closing. Never heard from them, so I called 30 mins before closing to be told they never looked at it and wouldnt until Monday. Had to find housing and rent a car for a week because from out of town. Their response? sorry about that. Services performed without permission, accused of not caring properly for my,car and criticized for not having a sticker from last oil change to only receive my car with the contents of the glovebox on the seat, no sticker and didnt reset the car for the oil change. Buyer beware.

Told to drop off car night before they would start on it first thing in morning. Came back late next afternoon with car outside not brought in. Told them I was leaving with car. They said short staff. Should of advised me of this when I took it there. Will never go back. Numerous problems in past, though I would give them another try.Big.Mistake

I schedule an appointment for an oil change & a state inspection. When checking in, I was told it would be 90 minutes. I was expecting a 30-minute wait, like all other businesses have provided me. I asked about the courtesy shuttle and was told it was not available. I was not offered a place to wait. The experience was disappointing. With very little effort, the interchange could have been a pleasant experience. Instead, I left irritated and determined not to do business here again. I have used the services here about four times over the last five years. The customer service was lacking then too. I will not be back.On a positive note, the quality of the services performed met my expectations. Otherwise, I would have rated my experience at a 2.

Went in for tire rotation and oil change, after nearly two hours the mechanic had changed the oil but not bothered to rotate the tires. The thing I had actually gone there for. The manager comped the oil change, but I ended up rotating the tires myself at home. The stars are for the manager, the mechanic earned them a one star rating. Do your job!

My car didnt start, so I called AAA to come help. I was told after a some tests that what I thought was a battery issue was apparently that I needed a new starter. 3 different technicians told me that I needed a new starter after doing tests. So having no choice, I had to spend $400 on a new starter. The next day...car didnt start again. I called them back out and got a different guy this time who ran the same tests and told me that my battery was causing the issue. I was already upset at this point after having to spend so much for something I didnt even need. My battery was still under warranty and would be free to replace, but apparently all they wanted was money instead of good customer service. So the technician that came out last replaced my battery and voila, my car starts fine now. I cannot believe that multiple people missed this, even after I mentioned to them that the battery had an issue and I cleaned off corrosion from it, so its possibly leaking or has a bad cell. No, I was told it was a starter, which I had to pay for when it was the battery all along. I want to get a refund for this unnecessary work, but I cant exactly return the starter. I recommend that if you have issues, dont take your car here, you will be scammed. Ill never take my car here again and Im ashamed of AAA for treating their members with such disdain.
Made an appointment to verify I got new tires for a car inspection... AAA (800 or corporate whatever you want to call it) told me I couldnt go to the Oleander bc they were closed for 2 weeks so they referred me to Military. I show up to my appointment and wait 45 min. They tell me its going to be another inspection bc its not the same location. I say whatever just do it. They come back 30 minutes later and say oh your check engine light is on and we cant pass it till its off...... Im just going to stop there bc my blood pressure is going up.

Did not feel Like I was treated like other customers got to my appointment about 30 minutes early notice that customers came in after i did but left before i did. Appointment was 10 am got there 9.:30 left at 11:30 took 2 hours just for oil change and tire rotation that is the longest i ever had to wait for oil change. Will not go to AAA Car Care Center on Military Cutoff Road again. I will just use AAA Car Center on Oleander drive, if the be book like they was Saturday i will just go elsewhere to have oil change, just use AAA for road side service.

I called and scheduled an appointment for an oil change. On the day of the appointment I received a call 23 minutes prior to my appointment and was asked to reschedule because the technicians were running two hours behind due to an influx of “traveling members.” I was asked to come in two hours later, and they “would have to fit me in and then they wouldn’t get out until 4pm”. So, apparently scheduling AAA members (like myself) are less than “traveling members”! Regardless, this location has lost my business.
I went to this location last week about a tire slowly losing air and they found a nail in side wall. I decided to get the tire replaced here at this location even tho it took an extra three days longer for the tire to be delivered. I went in this morning and my car was officially checked in at 844. I had an appointment this morning. And nearly two hours later at 1020 am, I got another text saying they were almost done with my car. I went to the checkout counter. There is only one woman who works behind the auto check out counter. I mentioned to this woman that I didn’t expect it one tire to take almost two hours and the woman replied to me, literally this, she said, one hour, twenty minutes, big difference.”Anyone who works with the public I believe would be mortified at this woman’s comment. I had just paid her 380.00 dollars for one tire and I do believe her comment to me showed that she didn’t care less about my business. I replied to her that her comment was harsh, and she didn’t say a word. And to make matters worse, this woman was sending text alerts this morning about my car to my ex husbands work cell phone number. My ex husband was texting me to tell them to stop. I had never ever left my ex husbands cell number on my paperwork never ever. Needless to say, it was a very stressful experience this morning at this location and I won’t be going back. I will go somewhere where they appreciate my business and speak to me kindly as a paying customer
We went into AAA to look at their selection of Baggallini handbags. They had a nice selection and good prices with AAA discount. The staff was very friendly and shared experiences with several of the bags. Overall a very pleasant shopping outing.

AAA Military Cutoff was just fantastic with a battery issue. Our dealership wanted to charge us the full cost of the battery and help us out with labor charges, but AAA was able to help us get a pro-rated battery reflecting the warrantee and installed it super quickly, saving us over $100. Theres a reason Ive been a member of AAA since I was 16. Thanks for great service!

So I had a major malfunction with my truck while camping in Wilmington last weekend. And the repair was going to be a messy and not particularly easy fix. Since I came in on a Saturday, we had the issue of ordering parts over the weekend. And even though the parts came in damaged and had to be reordered on the fly, work on my vehicle was completed on Monday against all odds.Shawn Kellogg and his staff (particularly Terry the mechanic) did a professional and thorough job handling both their customer (me) and the task at hand. I could not be more pleased with the work done, and urge travelers in Wilmington and everywhere else to seek out AAA Car Care Centers when they require expert repair work on their vehicle while on the road.In the day of easy access to services AAA used to provide in the past, such as trip routing, and maps, etc. I think I have found a whole new set of reasons to become a AAA member going forward. Took my car in for my state inspection as I have done for the past couple of years. All of the staff are extremely helpful and hospitable. They have a well appointed waiting area where I can even bring my dog! Definitely recommend them for any service. I also just booked a trip with one of their travel agents...again, extremely helpful and hospitable. Great job all around!

My car broke down on the way to vacation. I had it towed here and the people here are very friendly and accommodating. The courtesy shuttle is a great convenience as well for lunch runs and such. Their coffee is even decent. Great experience from what could have been just a horrible day.

I think AAA Car Care is very expensive. I have three estimates in hand and all of them are over $700. For some reason AAA tries to replace everything related to the job whether it needs to be replaced or not. I had a problem with my distributor cap. They wanted over $1000 to replace it, the spark plugs and all the wires related to the spark plugs. Not to mention the $100 diagnostic, I told them I could not afford that much money. They worked with me by giving me the AAA discounts and said I could get by with not replacing all the spark plug wires, so the bill came down to $750. There was just no way that I could afford $1000. They promised to get the car running and thats what they did, Sometimes the labor is twice as much as the parts. They have automatic set rates for labor even if it doesnt take as long to fix the problem.So far I have been satisfied with all the work theyve done. I also like the fact that you get a two year warranty, but Im going to try to get estimates from other auto repair shops before I let AAA Car Care do any more work on my car. I have never used any other repair shop, but others are telling me I can get a better deal. .

Had a car that would not start right after Hurricane Florence. Had it towed to the AAA Car Center (most places were closed, they were open). Mechanic calls Monday asking for details and he figures out whats wrong - a squirrel took refuge in the engine bay and ate about 8 inches of the wiring harness Wow!! Crazy. It takes a day to figure out the part costs and he calls with the estimate. I tell him yes go ahead and do it. Amazingly, insurance covers (at least a part) of this. As Im trading calls back and forth between the insurance company and AAA Car Center, Im assured that the part has been ordered and as soon as they get the insurance OK, they will get started on the car. Insurance approved on Thursday and on Saturday when I stop by to see if its done, they hadnt ordered the part and itll be in sometime next week. I was out and out lied to. I am so angry I can barely see straight!! These guys are simply not trustworthy!!
Moving to the area after years of having a trusted mechanic in Albany, we were happy to find AAAs Military Cutoff shop. Our first visit led to a second...and a third. VERY friendly people; and, more importantly, our cars have been fixed right when needed. This is especially important to us when it comes to our daughters car, as she attends school about 16 hours away. We appreciate the peace of mind that comes from knowing that AAA has gotten her car as road ready as possible for her trips back and forth. Wed recommend this business to anyone in the area.

Only put one star because you have to leave at least 1. This was the worst experience at a car shop I’ve ever had. I took my car here in perfect condition for an inspection, which I shouldn’t have. They failed my inspection because they said I needed 4 new tires. Then they tried to tell me the front 2 tires were the reason my car didn’t pass. I have tires that should last 90,000 miles and only have 36,000 on them so far with 2/3 of the tread left on them. Counter staff was extremely rude and I shouldn’t be surprised that they tried to take advantage of a girl in college to get my money considering that’s what they always do. Will never go back there again. I encourage anyone who needs car service done to avoid this place at all costs.

My son needed a state inspection and thought maybe the clutch needed work. This place sold him 4 new tires, (2 tires were new in early December), a front and rear alignment, (also done in December), and a new power steering pump. The noise under the hood continued, he still believed it was the clutch, and then the check engine light came on. They then sold him on an engine treatment to help one of the cylinders, which included another oil change which had been done 1000 miles before during his first service. He is now $1200 in, and the clutch still sounds terrible. (The shop foreman said it was the CV joints, not the clutch). 3 days later, the clutch explodes and damages the flywheel, causing over $1400 in repair, which was done at a different shop close by. If you need maps or roadside assistance, please call AAA, if you need any mechanical work, run away quickly! The manager offered a free premiere oil change valued over $100 for our inconvenience, but who in their right mind would spend that much for an oil change? Terrible experience...

We used this location during our vacation at Ocean Isle, NC when the compressor went out in my car. The staff was very knowledgeable and kind to us and they worked well with the warranty company to get my car going again. We were very pleased with the customer service here and the work performed.

Staff at this location are super great! This is the 3rd time that I have experienced 1.50 hour service for only an oil change and tire rotation and I arrive early and on time for every appointment. My time is too valuable to have to spend it at a repair shop. The price is cheaper than the dealership, but the dealership gets me in and out within 45 minutes and washes my car.

This AAA center is very pleasant to work with. When I called to make an appointment to have a leaking tire checked, they offered to transport me home while the work was done. When it was finished they picked me up. The repair for this tire was very reasonable. This is the first time Ive taken my car there for a repair and I plan to return there again.
On time and fair price. Ordered 4 new tires and had them shipped to the shops location. Had to call the shop to setup a time to install the tires, after the tires where delivered (they where supposed call me when they where delivered). Tried to upsell an alignment before they even looked at the car.
Friendly service people, On-time appointments, nice shuttle ride available, well-kept waiting room, not pushy for other car services, but do list what your auto may need in the next 6 months..

Multiple issues with communication and what work actually had to be done. Stated on the phone that car was ready to be picked up but when I got there the car was undrivable and the ecm had to be replaced. This hadn’t been stated until I arrived. Also before hand they added multiple things that I didn’t ask for like fuel line cleaning and what not when I only wanted a coil replaced. Will definitely not be using this shop again. Only good aspect is that the problems were identified. Decided to have it towed home and replaced it myself for 200 for a refurbished one and that wasn’t even the problem. Wish I could turn my 1 star into a 0 zero star. Extremely dissapointingUpdate on March 27, 2019Just finished installing the new throttle body in my 2008 Dodge Caliber. I was able to research the problem and found the part that needed to be fixed. I took out the old one and installed the new one in under an hour for less than 120 bucks with expedited shipping. Really upset with this mechanic as they wanted to do many other things that had nothing to do with my specific problem. The electric throttle control light was on!!Makes sense it was the throttle.Don’t use this mechanic because they will try to empty your wallet if you aren’t experienced or look like you don’t know cars!
This was the most amazing car technician place I have ever been to. From checking in, to driving away their service was 100% spot on. My car had quite the number of issues so when I dropped it off the woman behind the desk made sure she had every detail. When looking at my car they found another issue(s) and called me with how much it would cost so I could give the okay before they started working on it. Additionally, they found congealed belt conditioner that this poor gentleman spent hours cleaning and didnt charge me for the extra labor. During the time my car was with them I called 6+ times to make sure everything was okay and Matt kept me updated every time. Honestly, I was TOTALLY satisfied and recommend AAA Carolinas to anyone with car issues because they definitely took care of me.

This was one of the worst car care experiences I have ever had. First of all I came in for a simple inspection and yet I sat in the waiting area for over an hour and a half. No one came out to tell me what was going on or to give me an update on my vehicle. So finally I went up to the front desk to ask about my car.I generally love AAAs services, but this was the worst. Never going back.
