My experiences with Shannon’s have left me very unhappy. On the first occasion I felt that Mike cared about how things turned out with my vehicle even though he needed to keep it longer due to some problems he encountered. When I finally got it back from his shop I had to take it back due to a new noise it was making that he claimed he couldn’t find. Believing that things hadn’t gone that bad I sent my vehicle to him again for a more extensive repair. It sat there for more than a week before he even looked at it claiming that he was the only person on staff qualified to do so. When I initially spoke with them about taking my vehicle there such a delay was not explained. It took another week before he got around to working on it because he took vacation time and just left my vehicle sitting there. When I finally got my vehicle back there were parts broken that hadn’t been when I took it in. One of which I had recently replaced. He assured me he’d fix the one he owned up to breaking, but in the end my vehicle was returned to me with that part still broken. The item they ordered that took several weeks to come in wasn’t even the part he broke, but a cheap attempt to stick the broken item back together. The other part he broke he claimed to have no knowledge of it’s location on the vehicle. For the amount that I was billed for this venture I feel like I was taken advantage of. I also feel that failure to replace items that he broke was extremely wrong. All in all I would never recommend this business to anyone. The time frame was bogus, the communication was nonexistent, the quality of work preformed was extremely lacking, and in the end I feel cheated. So if you can go somewhere else I highly advise it.

Great mechanic, honest and fair all around. My car gave this crew a very hard time, and Mike continued to not give up going above and beyond to ensure the car was fixed and I was taken care of. Phone updates were given along the way to let me know how the fix was coming along. This place is an absolute gem and gives peace of mind when something happens to your car!

The Owner, Mike Shannon, impressed my late Maternal Grandfather in such a way, that even though he purchased my Grandmothers Buicks from Schaefer, he ALWAYS took his and her vehicles to Shannons. It was a no-brainer, when I came to have a vehicle that needed work for me to conclude that Shannons was the place. Every used work vehicle I have had has been to and through Shannons. Knowing that I needed my vehicles to do my work in Home Improvement, Mike made certain things were tight and right. As I proceeded to turn Sedans into functional vehicles, initially 1970s, he kept them running. Eventually, he converted his Service Truck from Propane to Gasoline and sold it to me, which drove for a number of years. It ONLY succumbed to the HEAVY BOX I built on the back and burning out (3) transmissions and at least (2) motors. Mike is honest and forthright with me, when it comes to stating the facts, and he exhausts ALL possible options to accomplish his innate efforts to please his customers. I have heard folk talk about pricing, but the addage of getting what you pay for, is TRUE. If you go CHEAP you get CHEAP; with Shannons you may pay more, but you get a MORE QUALITY AND LASTING SERVICE! I have watched this business do things that Schaefer Buick nor Jeff Gordon Chevrolet could do and get it RIGHT THE FIRST TIME! Nothing BUT HIGH PRAISE for the Service. I am going to buy my next work vehicle from Mike Shannon, if I can help it; and I know that I CAN! ONE HUNDRED THUMBS UP!!!

My husband and I have been taking our vehicles to Shannon’s Auto for years and have a great relationship with everyone there. My brother has recently moved to the area and Shannon’s saved his car after the engine exploded. Mike and his team are honest about everything they do and will not take advantage of anyone. I know when my truck leaves Shannon Auto it is repaired right the first time. I took my work truck to him for a strange noise he properly diagnosed the problem and had me back to work in a few hours. I trust Mike and the whole crew. This place is the best auto repair shop in Wilmington. I will not go anywhere else for all my vehicles.

I was visiting Wilmington from Pennsylvania. The check engine light came on. Shannons took me in and provided great service. I experienced expertise, honesty, and kindness with exceptional value and affordability. I confidently recommend them highly! They are super - everything I look for in car care.

A word to the wise Mazda owner:I never leave bad reviews, neeeeever. But I’m pretty disappointed with these guys and I feel like I should prevent someone else from being ripped off.I had my Mazda 3 towed here because of the good reviews, the fact that they said they were Mazda specialists, and because they could look at my car today.The car had an issue with the brake light switch, a part that costs $15 EVERYWHERE ELSE except the dealer probably. I found this out after hearing I was going to be charged $200 for the whole thing.My car got to the shop at 11:20 and they called me at 11:56 saying “this never happens, but we were able to find out what was wrong, got someone from the Mazda dealership to deliver the part to us, and we can fix it for you now! Never happens!” I was thrilled just to hear it was an easy fix. Then I looked up the part on my own and found out it’s a very common Mazda problem and takes 5 minutes to fix with a $15 part. I called Shannon’s back and said I would just pay for the diagnosis. So they ended up charging me $80 for something I’M SURE THEY ALREADY KNEW WAS A MAZDA ISSUE IF THEY’RE SUCH HONEST EXPERTS. In other words, the diagnosis probably literally took them 3 minutes. And they probably already had a whole bucket full of those parts waiting for unassuming dummies like me.I understand the shop needs to make a profit, and it was my fault for not looking into the issue more on my own first, but to lie and say the part was conveniently delivered in less than half an hour (the dealership is 17 minutes from the shop already) and then to say they were going to charge me $200 for such an easy, common, and cheap fix?!?!? Come on, guys. I know I’m a girl, but wow. I should thank them for making me realize I should never assume people aren’t going to try to take advantage.Merry f’ing Christmas Shannon’s

BEST shop Ive ever dealt with! Took care of my 1977 Chevy when no one else in town would even try and then fixed the transmission issue on my Cadillac as well. Mike and his crew are great to work with, honest and professional. All work was done above my expectations, on time and at very reasonable costs!

We were traveling through Wilmington from out of town and had a problem with our car. Excellent service. I had a check engine light on that was determined to be caused by an after market fuel cap. The next day a cracked vacuum hose was found. I called Shannons and told them. Mike, the owner told me a smoke test had been done and it did not show up. I expected him to say Im sorry but it must have cracked after you left but instead I was asked to come in at my convenience and they would replace the hose for free. I said I would at least pay for the part and he refused. Customer for life !

All my jobs done here was very reliable. Dependable and on point .these people know what they are doing. A prior mechanic messed parts for my car three consecutive times installaing new front wheeel bearings. Each time I had to pay to reinstall another part less than a month I decided to call Shannon and he did it for me aat a very good price and guess what its been 3 months now and Im still smiling and praising his job.. this guy sure can fix anything .I wonder if he also fixes marriages hehe
