I moved in 4 years ago, the place was amazing! The staff helped me get into my apt. and cared about everything. June of 2021, Hawthorne was bought out by Lofts of Wilmington, everything is horrible. They lost about all of my rent check for June wanting me to pay double rent every month to catch up. Refusing to work with me, I have proof that the money orders were received and deposited and still refuse to work with me, constantly saying that I am wrong. They dont spray for bugs, or fix anything that is broken. My fiance has to rig my stove so that it works... Cant wait to move out! You will be unsatisfied with their services and will waist your time and money. I would rate this place with no stars, but it will not let me post this if I dont.

When I moved in May 2021, the whole complex was kept clean, dumpster area was always clean, and tenants actually had to follow the rules.At the end of June, Hawthorne was bought out and now it is called Lofts of Wilmington. In one month, everything has gone down hill..Trash every where, the management is not helpful and actually seem bothered by your calls or drop ins to the office unlike with Hawthorne. They do not seem as dog friendly as Hawthorne was either. My shower has been backed up for over a week and no one has come to fix it....I fixed it myself. I cannot wait till my lease is up!!

I had my car detailed, buff and wax. The following day the landscapers are blowing out all leaves from parking lot. Careless workers make vehicles dirty not even attempting to blow the vehicles off. Horrible customer service from the assistant manager without any help.

Horrible customer service. Lost my application redid it and when I was on the top of the waiting list found an open appt on their website and I was told that theyre too busy to be calling people on the waitlist. Manager called me rude after me having to argue with her about them cancelling my application (I asked if they needed anything else they ignored me then demanded more and more stuff after everything they asked for was still on their website) refused to give me my application fee back after not giving me an apartment and wasting 2 months of my time. Horrible place would never rent from this after this.

Would NEVER recommend this place. The laundry center is always disgusting, I’ve only seen it clean maybe 2 times the 2 years I have lived there, there is always roaches crawling around. Nobody comes in the apartment to spray for bugs so it always feels dirty, we have seen roaches come out of our outlets even though we cleaned regularly. After a year rent is raised about $20-$30 higher for no reason if you signed the lease agreement for another year.

Dont rent from this place. Youre only going to regret it in the end. Its very unfortunate that that is the case. It has the potential to be a good place to live. Its cheap and in a good location but thats where the positives end. The facilities (washing machines) have mold in the trays ment for detergent. Theres no telling the state of the rest of the machines. Meaning your clothes will be exposed to mold and given the recent issues with Covid-19, coupled with the possibility of exposure to mold I think the outcome speaks for itself. Luckily, I was able to take photos of three machines to confirm the issue. Unfortunately, the others were in use.The maintenance crew are polite, the office manager is very condescending, but thats ok. Dont rent from this place. You get what you pay for and honestly, youre going to get robbed by them in the end.

The people who run the apartment are always nice and are willing to work with you. No matter where you live nothing will ever be perfect. They helped me go through all my options everytime I had an issue. I have seen a few roaches here and there but they do spray for bugs. The location is perfect and you get what you pay for. Even when I felt like I was bothering them with all my questions they always responded quickly.

If you dont like roaches or have a fear of them, dont bother here. They changed pest control agencies and it helped for a little while then they popped up again. Still not near as bad as it was to start. It used to be you would see 3 or 4 every day. Now you might see one or 2 every couple days. As for the staff, they have always been cordial and the grounds crew has always been nice. Neighbors are great. Once in awhile, I might have a chat with a neighbor if Im out during the day. The response time on my apartment was great and they were very prompt with me while other complexes were stupid slow or never responded. I was between this place and Wimbledon Chase but had to go with this place since the staff was just so nice and the water was rolled into the price. Havent had any crime issues either. Im minutes from all the shopping I want to do and 10 minutes from Wrightsville Beach. Not perfect but what place is. It works great for my needs and Im enjoying my stay.

I liked the layout of the apartment, the staff were always friendly and helpful. However, bugs were an issue. Roaches and spiders. Tons and tons of spider nests surrounding the door of the apartment and the building, dangerous spiders. They could have killed my puppy if he were to be bitten by one of them. When I had asked maintenance to take care of the spiders, they never did. Things broke in the apartment often. It is in no way level! My stove was so unlevel, when I cooked all the food would fall to one side of the pan and when i put a ball on one side of the apartment it would roll down all the way to the other side. There was a sewerage issue that never got fixed no matter how many times maintenance came over and took care of it. It made my apartment smell terrible. The dog park was very poorly maintained to the point where I didnt even want to bring my dog near it. Not the fault of Hawthorne but NO ONE picked up their dogs waste? No one! ESPECIALLY not in the dog park. However, the staff was ALWAYS willing to help and were always friendly. Another issue that was a serious issue is the fact that I lived next door to a crack house and we constantly had to call 911 because a woman and a baby was being beaten and screamed at multiple times a day, sometimes at the most inconvenient times like 3 in the morning they would scream so loud it would wake everyone in the building. I called 911 on that house atleast 5 times within the time that I lived there. There was also a break in right below me? I just didnt feel safe and it made me so uncomfortable I moved out two months before my lease was up and was willing to keep paying for the rent as long as I dont have to live there.

Stopped in while we were looking for an apartment for my daughter. The lady was nice but never followed up with us.

This place is infested with cockroaches, no matter how many times they come out and spray or but bait out, they will always be around. The problem is so bad that we dont use our kitchen cabinets, we cant eat in our own home, and we have to check the shower before getting in. We have dead cockroaches freaking everywhere. Dont waste your time looking at this place!

Ive leaved in the place for almost 3 years and i would never suggest trying to rent here. it is infested with roaches and bad customer service skills in the office with some of the ladies. my husband and i have had notthing but problems living here. we have put so much time and money b/c when we first moved in it was infested with bed bugs and now the roaches.

These buildings are INFESTED with German cockroaches. They come through the wall outlets, hide in appliances, drawers, and cabinets. They are impossible to get rid no matter how many times the pest control comes out to spray or set traps. It was miserable to live here for an entire year. The problem became so bad that I kept nothing in my kitchen drawers, cabinets, or even cooked in an attempt to keep the bugs away.

It seems to me it a nice places to stay..
