Hawthorne at Murrayville is a great place to call home!!! I am one of their newest tenants. Just moved in this month - Aug 2021. You are given a first-class welcome upon arrival and they strive throughout the entire process to make sure that all your needs and concerns are met. The apartment homes and property is well maintained. Very happy with my choice of property to call home!!
The front office acts as if the tenants have done something wrong. They truly understand that people have very few options for renting in this current housing market and dont feel like a servant leader attitude is necessary. The 24 hour work out facility hasnt been opened in 11 months from my understanding. All of the other tenants we have met are very friendly.
Ive had nothing but an amazing experience since I began living in Hawthorne at Murrayville. My apartment is very spacious and comfortable and the community is beautiful. Ive enjoyed staying here and I look forward to continuing my experience for many years to come.
Helpful helpful staff very sweet just no vacancies
Brady was an unbelievably welcoming and personable guide. He made us feel at home and possesses extensive knowledge on the area. My girlfriend and I are hopeful that he will be working at Murrayville when we move in for July! Thanks Brady. Hope to see you soon!
Who in the world numbered these buildings? Why are half the buildings numbered with one font, and the other half with a different one? Why does one of these buildings not even HAVE a number placard? Who in Gods name was in charge during that planning process? Seriously, for those of us who deliver food here, its an absolute pain.
I’ve lived here 5 months now & I love this complex! All of the neighbors are so friendly, as well as the office ladies! Very quiet & A peaceful place to call home. If you ever need anything the front office is so fast to respond to you to fix whatever issues you may have. Location is also another PRO!
I love my home. Ive been at Hawthorne At Murrayville for 8-9 years. Its quiet, clean and a great place to be. The office staff have always been pleasant. My neighbors are friendly. Landscaping is always beautiful and completed weekly. Ive happily referred friends to this location. One of them moved into her apartment 2 months ago. I love calling Hawthorne at Murrayville.....HOME!!!
I have lived here for a while and really enjoy it. They have a great maintenance team that’s fixes everything in a prompt manner. There are cookies, dog treats, and a Starbucks machine in the clubhouse. The apartment is new, stainless steel appliances. Open layout makes it feel big.
I love living here! Its a great value and location - close enough to conveniences, but tucked away like its own oasis. Staff is cheery and helpful, neighbors are quiet but friendly, and the grounds are very well-kept. I especially appreciate the pet-friendly features they offer! The one issue I had so far with my dryer was fixed the very next day after I submitted my maintenance request - super impressive! Also, loving my apartment itself. Its nicely appointed, very spacious, and was spotless when I moved in.Id definitely recommend living here to anyone.
I lived here for about a year on the second story. I understand that living on the second story we will hear the upstairs neighbors but not at 5 am vacuuming, or playing loud music to the point where I thought my fiancé was playing it in another room, or to the point where they had to be throwing stuff and my apartment would shake and wake us up in the middle of the night. We told management numerous amount of times and nothing was done until a couple weeks before we moved out. The management staff is friendly but very disorganized. They asked me for my renters insurance at least 3 times before they added it to the system (I kept forwarding the original email every time they asked.) Now after us leaving, they keep asking for our forwarding address after we gave it to them in person 3 times and once over an email. My fiancé then got asked again after. Over all, I loved the apartment, it was beautiful, but wasn’t worth the neighbors and management not handling it.
Friendly and accommodating staff with great amenities on the property. I especially like that they have a dog washing station! The staff also hosts fun events on a regular basis!
Im currently about half way through my year lease, and I gotta say this place can be super frustrating. Everything looks great on paper but sadly it doesnt hold up expectations after a couple months. The structure is not sound in our apartment and it is constantly settling or making loud noises for no apparent reason. One of the biggest things though is theres always poop laying around and most of the time its not even from dogs, for some reason they have allowed a colony of stray cats to infiltrate their complex and they continue to do nothing about it, even though that contradicts what they have stated in their lease. I have tried talking to the front office about it on five or six separate times but they havent even lifted a finger. So if you like feral cats hanging around and more showing up getting into loud fights and crying during the middle of the night, cat poop everywhere that makes going outside unpleasant as well as smelling completely awful, and a team that doesnt seem to care then this is the place for you.Edit: I posted the first paragraph 10 months ago and they said they would do something about it. Nothing has been done and more cats have shown up. When I first moved in there was 3 maybe 4, now there is at least 8 and they bring the smell of mange and feces all over the building. The way theyve handled situations like these and neighbor relations is why Im leaving this place. DO NOT MOVE IN TO 5405!!!
Easily the best complex I have ever lived at. Very attentive to detail and the staff is always on top of everything! My A/C went out in the summer and the maintenance had a temporary window unit in my place within 20 minutes! My A/C was fixed within the next few days! If you’re going to live somewhere quiet, this is the place. I can’t say enough great things.
I absolutely love this community. The office and maintenance staff are always helpful. Wouldnt want to live anywhere else.
PROs - The apartment has lots of kitchen cupboard space, giant fridge and spacious bathrooms. On the 3rd floor I rarely hear anyone and its very quiet. Neighbors are quiet and friendly. Office staff are very nice and helpful.CONs - Im in a building facing the Lowes grocery store and work at home. A major problem is the recycling truck that picks up the recycling at the LOWES parking lot just next to us. It parks and turns on a beeper early in the morning and will turn it on and off all morning. Today it started around 7:30 and now it is 1:5 and the beeper is still going. I have to use a white noise machine to think otherwise the beeping will drive you mad. Avoid the apartments facing the grocery store. The noise occurs every day of the week, so forget sleeping late on the weekends. Also, I supposedly I had new carpet when I moved in but I continuously found tiny pieces of glass every where in the house as if it was in the carpet that got put down and no one vacuumed it before I moved in. dangerous - I thought I had gotten it all up and kept finding the glass pieces for two months.
I’m not a resident here, but my Moving Compny and I had the opportunity to move in clients at this location. The layouts of the apartments are awesome and the staff are always helpful.-Carson, 🌴🚚🌴Owner of Tropical Moves - Moving Company
I found the office staff extremely professional from our initial meeting through our move in date. We visited numerous apartment communities, within this price point, and found none that compared to Hawthorne at Murrayville. The amenities and the grounds are in great shape. I look forward to living here.
Lost everything in hurricane Florence, they got an apartment ready for me as soon as they could, worked with me all the way, the entire staff is over the top friendly and helpful in everyway, whether its fixing something, getting a package or helping send a fax
This place is beautiful! And to top it off the staff is incredible! I love where I live. These apartments are gorgeous and the grounds are amazing. Wouldnt want to live anywhere else!
Please **BEWARE** and read this full review. We had a LIFE-THREATENING experience here.We were subject to abuse by a disorderly, and potentially mentally ill 36-year-old neighbor who chased our 12-year-old daughter through the property with intent to harm. This same neighbor would come up to our apartment and kick on our front door and yell profanities and threats, shine flashlights in our windows at 1 AM and drive through the parking lot threatening our kids. The management’s response? Since we had a month-to-month lease, they kicked us out because it was easier than dealing with our “complaints”. It’s important to note that we were not evicted, but had we refused to leave, an eviction would have followed. Be a victim of abuse here and you’ll be punished. Don’t be fooled, they have a corporate Attorney on speed-dial to deal with victims.Keri, who was the manager at the time has a history of mismanagement and came to this property from Ellington Farms where she did a similarly poor job (read the reviews there). Now, even after being forced to move for being a victim, we get calls from management informing us about mistakes they are making, including “accidentally” sending our account to collections, although we have no balance with this company and always paid rent on time. It’s a breeding ground for incompetence in this company. Please beware and protect yourself. Here are my safety tips. If you absolutely need to let your kids go outside, make sure they travel in pairs, only go outside during daylight hours, and make sure they carry a cell phone at all times and know how to call 9-1-1. That was our experience and I hope you have a better one than us.
I have had the most incredible experience living here at Hawthorne at Murrayville. Kaitlin and Rachel have been the most helpful and acomidating! Thank you for everything guys! If you want to live off the beaten path, but minutes from Wilmington. This is the place for you! There is a lowes grocery store and a dunkin donuts that you can walk too. Top notch amenities and the staff is next level! Murrayville has a tight knit community feel and I am delighted to be surrounded by neighbors and friends! The Free unlimited Starbucks coffee machine is my personal favorite. Thanks Hawthorne!
Great people and office staff. Never a problem with anything, always very helpful with any issues that arise. Highly recommend this apt complex.
Hawthorne claims to be luxury living when it couldnt be further from LUXURY! What a joke! And, the management team is absolutely rude, unprofessional, impersonal, and the worst group of complex managers Ive ever had to deal with, unfortunately. Location is situated RIGHT underneath the fly zone so you constantly have airplanes, helicopters, and military jets flying RIGHT over you. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything in the hallways and everyone moving up/down the stairways. Save yourself and avoid this place.
Leasing staff sent an email out regarding dog poop; if you snap a picture of someones dog pooping, regardless of if you stuck around long enough to watch them pick it up or not, you can show them and theyll provide you with an incentive. Did I mention its a felony to take someones photo on private property without their consent? If you enjoy being stalked, harassed, and threatened with fines for something you didnt do because someone is desperate for a few extra bucks, well then this is the place for you!
Constant issues with trash dumpsters over filled. Residents leave bags of trash on ground, nobody picks up after dumpster is emptied. Just had a hurricane with 40-50 trash bags on ground. Staff is not rectifying the situation and it is getting worse. Pics to come.
AMAZING staff, spacious and modern apartments, great amenities and a very convenient location in Wilmington - Hawthorne at Murrayville has everything we need! Cant say enough great things!
The apartments themselves are alright I guess but the management is awful. Rude and unprofessional staff, the lady running this place seems like she has absolutely no idea what shes doing, if you have an issue she dismisses it or acts like youre wrong, shes unable to handle situations in the appropriate manner. Amenities are often gross or trashed. We were promised trash pick up at our door beginning of this year, that never happened.
Horrible customer service. I was calling to get a price quote. I was put on hold twice and they would immediately hang up the phone while I was on hold. Third time I called they did not answer.
If you like dog poop all over the place, this is where you want to be. The pup run is affectionately called the poop park by those that live here. Dont fall for the granite counter tops or the newly renovated . Neighbors can be very loud and the management, which thinks quite highly of themselves and rather than taking care of various problems of the community, searches for ways to nickel and dime you when they have an opportunity. I could go on and on but if you move here, youll start to regret it and will see for yourself.
This place is clean, extremely quiet at night, and seems safe so far. Yes you can hear people going up and down the stairs in the hallways if you are in the living room next to your front door... but that is to be expected in an apartment. The random plane noise doesnt bother me. Please note... this is ILM not JFK... theres only but so many planes flying over each day and it is maybe 15 seconds of noise per plane. The rent is a LITTLE high being as the location is not walking distance to anything and not exactly in a prime location... but Ill pay for safety and a quiet place after living in Hawthorne Centre North and having a terrible quality of life.
Love living here!
Great Place
I love it.
Beautiful place to enjoy with the family, a place for you to enjoy a beautiful canine company or the pet that you like, apartments with friendly neighbors that will fill you with satisfaction
