Launch Social Living is a place that gives me homely feeling even being thousands of miles away from home because of an inclusive community. I have been living here for about 2 months now, and its been a satisfying place to be called a home. Some apartments are a bit older than others but all of them are built nicely inside out. I get the right amount of sun daily from morning until evening, have an option to sit by the Wabash lake while working on my assignments, and also chill at the clubhouse and the gym with friends. The staff at the office is very friendly to talk to. It feels like a safe community and is close enough to the campus too, for me to bike everyday or take a bus right from the front of my building. Would have been amazing to see the swimming pool working but all in all, its worth all of it.
Ive been here at Launch appartments for almost 2 months now and I couldnt have asked for more!I have everything I need right next to me. Laundry is easily accessible and theres 3 bus stops for you at Launch which is pretty convinient if youre at one of the ends. The management is super helpful and repairs are done within 3 daysWould definitely consider extending my lease here at Launch !
My experience living at Launch has been good. The location is amazing with a lake view and it is located at a good proximity from campus. I can always go for hiking to Happy Hollow or go to Wabash Trail enjoying the riverside. The service of the staff has been really good. They conduct interesting events throughout the year. I would say Launch Social Living is a good affordable option for grad students!!
DO NOT LIVE HERE!This is not a good place to live. This apartment complex is not worth your time and energy in dealing with the front office or the physical space itself. Most of the units are incredibly outdated and your electric and water bills will be inflated because of Launchs inability to put money into fixing problems. Most of the five-star reviews are input by people who either work for Launch and or the various events that Launch runs to give out free stuff in exchange for a five-star review. My partner and I have spent so much time and energy trying to get the most basic things out of the front office with very little to show for it. Front office are extremely unhelpful and often rude if confronted with a legitimate concern that they have 0 authority to help with. We have gone a month without AC during the summer and when we do run our AC unit its more of an overpriced fan than anything else. The heat runs until it is turned off because the sensors that tell it to shut off do not work. So you cannot turn on your heat without it staying on until its 78 degrees until it finally turns off. Most of the units are incredibly outdated and the maintenance staff can only put on Band-Aids for everything. Pray you dont have to work with the front office because they are taught to combat your problems rather than help and dont have any authority to help you with anything more than putting in a maintenance request.Do yourself a favor and dont even consider moving in to Launch even if the units are cheaper. Stay literally anywhere else.
I’ve been living here for 2 years now, and I must say I’ve had a great experience here! The management is great and the maintenance team is top notch (special shout out to Bret who is an absolute rock star)Walking distance to Purdue campus and stones throw away from wabash landing. Bus no. 5 stops right outside the property as well.
Amazing place with great amenities. Their response to the covid situation and their reaction to maintenance issue has been fantastic. Would definitely recommend.
Yeah. No. Some really nice people in the office, good location but just no.
Their customer service is horrible. They cannot even provide dimensions of the units, and only give tours of one unit in the entire complex. The lack of info here is insane. Additionally, their workers are rude and do not do their job. I asked for dimensions in the room 5 times and every time I was blown off and disrespected by customer service.
This year I renewed my lease so I’ll had been here for almost 2 years a wonderful place the club house is awesome and the people at the office are really nice they plan and do a lot of stuff for the residents love it here ❤️❤️❤️
I love living here at Launch. It is so convenient and comfortable. The maintenance team is very fast and timely. Also, the management is super friendly.
READ THIS REVIEW BEFORE SIGN.1) They show cleaned and built beautiful model house when you take a look unit.-> Once you sign, youll see your unit is the most dirty unit with lots of insect living.2) You will see employee at front desk. Theyre always smiling:)-> Once you need help or support for any issue regarding living, theyre the most enemy to you. Theyre well trained to refute regarding your request.3) Theyre sad to send you when you leave and not re-leasing.-> Once they confirmed youre leaving, they find every single piece to charge you to replace them. It is not your fault because their piece of broken, not working, dirty carpet are made before you come.If you still need to live here, I suggest you to take all the picture when you first come and hire a lawyer to protect your self and avoid their charges.Good luck guys, boiler up!
Rooms are basically what you expect for how much youre paying. No ceiling lights for bedrooms, barely any sound insulation from other units, dishwasher broken despite multiple service requests. Basically your average college apartment. View from the balcony is pretty nice, and there are some good amenities. The staff member seem pleasant enough. I rarely write reviews and this alone would not warrant me to submit one.I AM writing this because if you have any intention of subleasing or managing your lease, I am recommending that you avoid this place like the plague. The staff members are nice but are under-trained and do not seem to communicate with each other. I have been screwed over by the staff multiple times because of either miscommunication or them withholding information from me.If you are a student searching for an apartment, I want to let you know that you deserve better than this place. Just skip it altogether because it is not worth the potential headaches you will receive on top of your schoolwork and student life.
This is the first place Ive renewed my lease with near Purdue. I enjoy the distance to campus and the friendly staff. Im not sure how or why there are such terrible comments. Maintenance is indeed slow on catching up with requests and sometimes I dont even get notified of when they come in. I do think the vendors they use to fix specific things are cheap, but I just got our counters, tub, and sink resurfaced and they look beautiful. These apartments are not brand new, but they are way more decent than most Ive toured with. In short, I love living here and would stay here for my entire stay at Purdue.
Ive visited my friends at Launch multiple times and its always been a pleasant experience. I love their system of providing guest parking passes so I know my car is safe from being towed while visiting. They are pet-friendly so I love visiting my friends pets! And I usually spend the night and I havent heard noise from other neighbors apartments (which was a complaint Ive had in my own apartment). Launch is a great distance from campus so youre within walking distance but are still separated from the hustle and bustle. If I still lived in Lafayette I would definitely consider living at Launch and recommend it to my peers.
Amazing location! It is only 5 mins drive away from purdue campus. There are many stores and food locations around this apartment complex. They have a nice dog park and it is by a river so my dog loves living here! They always have events going on so yay to free snacks! One thing that can be improved are the dryer machines, it does not always dry my clothes but other then that I would recommend!
Really nice and affordable apartments that are within a mile of campus. Plus there is no breed restriction for dogs!
I have been living here from past 6 months and I have liked this apartment a lot. It is adjacent to the Wabash river. The colony and the apartments are spacious. It is 1.5 miles from Purdue Engineering mall. The club house and gym are nice and working. The office staff is very humble and helpful. They resolve all the maintenance issues pretty quickly. Overall it is 9.5/10 as per my experience.
We recently had a problem with mold in our apartment due to a water leak, and the Launch staff acted quickly and appropriately to handle it. We were promptly given the choice to move into a new, clean apartment temporarily or permanently if we wished. The office staff were very accommodating and caring throughout our whole experience and offered to help our situation however we deemed necessary (even offering to help obtain moving company services). Our new apartment is very nice and was perfectly clean upon arrival- we even have a patio now, which we love!
Having lived in the area 4 years, 1 year in the dorms and 3 years in 4 different apartments, I can say that Launch is the only place I liked enough to renew. Theyre also one of the only places that does resident events and make a real effort to form a community. Beautiful location with a decent price for what you get.
Beautiful view of the river. Staff was amazingly helpful!!
Nice apartments even though I havent leased there I stayed here for a week and they had a really nice pool, a community center, and basketball court for the price rane it is heard to find all of these in one place. They are pet friendly and have a really nice view specially if you are closer to the river. Also close to the bus so easy to go to campus.
Bed bugs were found in my sub-lease apartment and I needed to live in my friend’s place for about a month.Company is unhelpful and I need to dust demetrius earth powder every once a while because the bed bugs always comes back.
Dont expect to get your deposit back
Extremely outdated. Takes over a week for them to fix anything and even then, they don’t fix it completely. The leasing office has one of the worst customer service and they never seem to be helpful. My roommates and I wanted to get out of the lease and had people to sublease the apartment and even got all the paperwork for it, but they offered them the same floor plan but for a $100 cheaper. Then when we asked for the same price, they couldn’t offer it to us. I would not recommend this place unless it is the absolute last option.
TAKE A LOOK NEGATIVE COMMENT BEFORE COME IN LAUNCH!!1. A lot of robber reported in this apartment.Theyre armed!! (Take a look police official report!! You can google it!!)2. They play a gamble to charge you!!You expect $2500~4000 extra charge for every year!!They know this is wrong but theyre still playing this gamble with new residents!!I hope you, your family want to live in safe, careful apartment!Find another apartment to secure your family safety!!
RUN DOWN! DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!!Very dissatisfied with our apartment. We were sold on a third floor space because Everything was new!Broken air conditioner DAY 1. Hadnt been serviced since the 60sRusty cabinets from the 60sSmelly dishwasherUnpainted, poorly built balcony that our dog could easily slip through.Part of the CEILING FELL DOWN WITH MOLD!Dont get me started on the management system. One manager for the whole place (something like 500 units). The rest of the staff have to consult with the one main manager for every little issue, which leads to weeks of unread emails. It leaves us tenants without a voice.Their policy regarding customer service? They know that 90% of people wont sue, so they do everything to suit their own interests.-Unauthorized maintenance entry-Shutting down the gym for Covid (because they can and no one can stop them, despite dozens of complaints. We PAID for the gym and indoor pool, which we CANT USE except during office hours)-Broken AC for 6 weeks with NO form of restitution-Rude maintenance staff who cant even fix a leaky pipeI moved here because I thought The Avenue (Alight, Lark) was bad. Compared to Launch, the Avenue is a 5* resort at 1/3 the price!LOOK ELSEWHERE FOR YOUR NEXT APARTMENT!
Would not get a place here. Poor standard of living.
The room was not clean when I took the lease. The flooring in the bathroom was coming out. The bathtub had stains. The carpet was supremely dirty. The staffs in the office act friendly but not really helpful. The rooms are nice and spacious. The AC does not work. Its hard to stay here in summer. No in house laundry. Two washing machine for almost 72 residents (36 units). The apartments complex is huge and I made great friends. The recreational facilities are good.
Love, love, love!! Staff is amazing :)
Currently have no running water and the office was unclear when it would be fixed. Ive experienced roach issues in the past due to a neighbors uncleanliness and the office claimed that we were lying and that there were no roaches until we brought them in a plastic baggie in front of potential renters. After that the roach problem took another two months to be fixed. This place is so poorly managed it is absolutely pathetic. I wasnt even sent an email regarding when I might have running water so for right now I cant cook dinner, wash my hands, use the restroom or shower and the emergency maintenance people wont answer their phone. My only advice is to NOT RENT HERE.
READ THIS BEFORE YOU SIGN AT LAUNCH.1. They play a gamble with charge resident(for most leaving residents)Here is What they do.2. They charge you $900~1000 to you after you leave Launch and send a letter you ex) Whole carpet need to change because its old.3. They dont care how you use clean or not.4. You will not pay of of course because its not your fault.5. They call Collection Agency (Name of the company: BYL Collections)6. They sell your debt to them for cheap price.7. Now, Collection BYL Company will ask you to pay and start to damage your credit.8. If you dont pay, credit goes down. BYL collection company doesnt care whos fault.9. Collection finds wherever youre, and send 5~6 mails in a month.Repeat 1~9 for another leaving resident.Thats it.Its up to you if you want to start living at Launch.Wonderful Apartment! Go ahead if you like it!
Except its location, everything else is worst, specially the management. I would not recommend this place if not for the location. The Laundry problem is so frustrating in my building that very often I go to my neighboring building to do my laundry which is super convenient thanks to the Launch Apartment management. There are two great qualities about Launch, 1. They cannot identify any problems that their residents are facing 2. Though their residents identify problems, the management takes their sweet time to fix them sometimes they out do themselves by not even fixing the issue as in the case of laundry machines.
Still waiting for my safety deposit after 7 weeks, and that says about their efficiency...can’t really complain the living conditions, because the price is so low. But I wish they will keep us updated even after we moved out.Edit: I have changed my review to one star. I called the office after they replied. However, all they can tell me is that the check has been shipped “awhile ago” by corporate. But couldn’t tell me how long exactly is “awhile ago”, and asked me to get in contact with USPS. Without the sender mailing address, mail receipt etc. it’s impossible to file a missing mail request. And quite frankly, this should not be my obligation, and all this mess can be avoided if they reach out to me in the first place. For example, just let us know after you mail our bills and check. It should not be that hard.
I’ve visited the launch social apartments many times, and have always been impressed with how well the apartments are set up and the amenities that are available to residents.
I’ve been living here a short few months, but it’s been great. The office staff is so friendly and helpful and the apartments are great. I’d definitely recommend!
Love living here! Amazing maintenance staff and very friendly office staff. Our apartment is very nice and in great condition. This location is walking distance from Purdue’s campus.
Definitely check this place out! Ive lived here for a while, and its the perfect location. Right between downtown Lafayette and Purdue University. The rooms are clean and plenty big. Honestly just a great place to live.
I’ve lived at Launch since 2017 and worked in the office since April 2018. I like the proximity to campus & my second job, being able to have a large dog, and that I have a larger space than most college places for a 1 bedroom. I was a transfer undergrad student at Purdue so I was worried about making friends and living off campus but I originally chose Launch because it was still within walking distance, events seemed fun, and it felt very safe. Through working in the office, I’ve definitely met a lot of friendly faces, made connections with residents, and helped plan some fun events. Overall, genuinely glad I chose to live here.
I have been loving my new apartment so far. The view is amazing, I love living by the river. The management is super helpful and responsive and there are always fun events going on to engage with!
Amazing location to stay at.The staff is friendly and the amenities are decent. Connectivity by bus is amazing during college hours but isnt really great during vacation. Overall will recommend
They claimed we didnt clean the place when we did. Charged us $500 in damages that which all were fraudulent claims. They had no evidence of any of the damages but just assumed because some of my roommates were Indian that they were easy to take advantage of.The apartment air system is loaded with mold and spores. I had trouble breathing due to allergies. The staff isnt all that friendly either. I had one staff member close the door in my face when I had been locked out and was going to the office for help.If I had the money to sue them, I would.Update: Owner Called me to dispute my review and harass me. Bad sign if the owner calls a disgruntled client just to harass them.
Good place, but NOT of you want to subleaseIf you are someone who is likely to sublease (e.g. a grad student who would go on internship for 3 months), the subleasing policies here are one of the worst around west Lafayette. So do look into that before signing a lease. Here, if you want to sublease, in addition to subleasing fees of $300, YOUR ENTIRE DEPOSIT AND LAST MONTHS RENT (which you had paid in advance with deposit) BOTH ARE FORFEITED. And by forfeited, I mean forfeited by Launch - not tied to unit/transferred to new tenant. The new person taking over pays their own rent for the entire duration of their stay plus their own additional deposit. When this happened to me, I just had to decide to not sublease, because the money I would have lost due to loss of my deposit and last months rent money was more than what I would have saved by subleasing (since I was looking to sublease for just over two months). If you are likely to be in a similar situation, check other leasing offices in West Lafayette. There are plenty others with more fair subleasing policies, where you just pay sublease fees (the deposit/last months rent is tied to the unit and transferred to the new tenant usually, and you can work with new tenant to recover deposit/rent you paid).
I hated two years of living here. The fire alarms went off all the time because of the terrible washer and driers they had. Packages wouldnt be processed right and then be sent back. Something was broken at all times and it was impossible to get anyone to come fix it. In our first year, my roommate was having car trouble and they didnt use it much, but they towed my roommates car without their knowledge and come to find out 30 days and $800 later that we had to go get it from the towing company. They charged too much for the terrible quality apartments they provided. Find somewhere else for the money. This place has no redeeming qualities for the amount they charge. Literally go anywhere else.
We have really enjoyed living here! Maintenance is quick and the office is always kind and honest! Its quiet but feels like a community.
Adriana is an excellent community assistant! Helped sign my lease within an hour and answered any questions I had, request her if you need a trustworthy and reliable person.
Full disclosure: I havent had the chance to visit Launch in person, so I cannot speak to the physical appearance of the community or apartments. But I have interacted with their management and leasing team via phone and email, and I am truly impressed by how much they value feedback from their residents and prospective residents. If you live at Launch, you arent just a face in the crowd and you can really get to know the people who have the ability to make your living experience even better.
Ive lived at Launch for the past 3 years for multiple reasons!Launch offers the most affordable prices for only being 1.5 miles away from Campus. I can walk, bike, hop on the city bus (bus stop right in front of property) or drive to campus. Launch has a lot of amenities and events to offer to everyone! The management company took over halfway through my first year of living here. Since the take over there has been nothing but improvements!I highly recommend living at Launch. The office staff is super friendly and anytime Ive had a maintenance issue, they have fixed it immediately.Launch is also super pet friendly!
Make sure you take pictures at move-in and move-out as they will decline to go thru a move-out inspection with you so they can charge you by cleaning and anything possible... even if you clean. They are really abusive as they know the proximity to the University is a big premium for them..If you have other option go for it....
Ive lived here for almost 2 years and have absolutely no complaints. The staff is very helpful with whatever you need and go above and beyond to make sure that their tenants are happy. They have very spacious apartments for fair prices and are extremely dog friendly.
I have lived at launch for a year now and have greatly enjoyed being part of this community. I arrived after the big move-in day and was put on the lease of my roommate with no problem. The office staff are extremely helpful and inviting. If there are ever any issues, the staff up there are very apologetic and work effectively to resolve them. The maintenance staff works very effectively. Whenever I have put in a work order, be it big or small, it has been addressed within 24 hours. Overall, this community is safe, quiet, and extremely close to campus. Keep up the good work!
It has been a week since I moved into the apartment and I already found some severe problems with the apartment--Cockroaches. Since last week, there has been several roaches came out from the sink and the bathroom. Now they are all over the unit and coming out of everywhere (even in the bedroom). We found out that there are just too many holes and gaps between the wall and floor since this apartment is very old.Pest control for this apartment come every other two weeks and you are told to just wait. Staffs in the office nice, but these maintenance/request takes a VERY LONG TIME!It has been a week since we moved in and we are already looking for another apartment for next semester. I would definitely not recommend this apartment to anybody.
1) Play a gamble with residents to charge as much as they can.2) Unsafe area, dangerous people.3) When you leave, additional $1000 charge is plus. They dont pay a single cent to fix but charge a thousands to resident to take money.STAY AWAY or Nightmare starts at Launch.
I love living at Launch! The apartments are so nice and spacious compared to other areas around West Lafayette. I love the maintenance team and office staff, they work very fast and try to make everyone happy. I will be sad to leave Launch.
I have been living at Launch for a while now and I have nothing but GREAT things to say! I love all of the on site amenities and the office staff is super friendly. Any time I’ve ever had a maintenance request, maintenance staff have always been prompt to respond to it and fix the problem quickly. The apartments are extremely spacious and the prices are very affordable compared to other places around the area. It is very close to campus and there are multiple bus stops by the apartment complex :)
Williamsburg on the Wabash is a great place to call home! The staff is very professional and friendly. They are quick to respond to any questions or concerns I may have and the office is open every day of the week. I love that I dont have to go far to work out, swim, or tan! I would definitely recommend Williamsburg for anyone looking for a new place to live. Its a great place and a great price!
Beautiful locality and Great living experience. Great maintenance services. But leasing office staff would hardly be willing to help incase of any problems/issues.
Ive lived here since August and I love it. The people in the office are so friendly and you can tell that they really want to help you. Maintenance always comes to address any issues really quickly, which is great. Im planning on staying here another year.
I love living at Launch! The apartments are so spacious, so you get a lot more for your money compared to other places around campus. Everyone is always super welcoming and helpful!
I just moved out of Launch. Overall, it was just okay. I liked the view and the proximity to campus. Sometimes bad communication with staff, mix ups or slow work with maintenance, and a few angry phone calls or emails on my part. I wouldnt say its worth the price. Its rundown and doesnt feel quite safe. And when I moved out, I was bombarded with unfair cleaning fees. My family and I spent hours cleaning the apartment, and it was much better than how I found it when I first moved in. And yet, I was charged almost 300 bucks. And because I didnt set up a move out walk through appointment (which I felt I didnt need, as the place was spotless), Im not allowed to argue (I can only mail a letter) and likely wont get my money back. I feel a bit betrayed, because I have been a good renter and have given them so much grace when they wronged me, and Im not getting that same understanding and respect. I feel that they have taken advantage of me. I had more problems with them in one year than I did at the Avenue South in the two years previous. I wish I had lived somewhere else for my last year of college.Update: The staff has given me a partial refund after reconsidering my charge dispute. I wish that I had left on better terms, and if my last week with them had gone better I probably would leave more like three or four stars. I did love the apartment itself and the convenient location, just think the staff and maintenance could be better.
1- I was so surprised when I found out that the apartments do not have any ceiling lights in living rooms and bedrooms. You must bring your own lights!2- These apartments heat up using electricity, and the thermostats look like from the World War II. If you want to pay hefty electricity bills, then move to Launch.3- The A/C was so outdated that in the humid summers you must wait such a long time for it to cool down the apartment.4- My apartment, on the third floor had mice! I called up the maintenance about the huge hole in the wall behind the sink. They never filled the hole and nothing really was done. It was toward the end of my lease, so I really didnt push for it.5- I spent so much time cleaning my apartment after before moving out. only I came to know that I was charged $150 fee for professional cleaning.6- There were only 3 washing machines in each building, with a sign saying that you should not use more than 2 at the same time (which basically means there are 2!). You have to charge your card at he office to use the Washer and Dryer, which is a pain in the a**.7- The gym is just a joke.
When I first moved in to Launch, I loved my apartment. That has now changed. Originally, I felt the rent matched the limited/old amenities and only having one AC unit for an entire apartment. Now that theyve dramatically raised their rent (for both renewals and new residents), I cant wait to get out. You can find much nicer apartments in the area that are more updated and offer more/better amenities.
Good apartments for a good price! There were some issues upon my move-in but they were resolved quickly and professionally. Samantha (the leasing manager) was amazing and very helpful. Honestly, a lot of the issues people seem to be complaining about (being charged for carpet cleaning, other charges, etc) could easily be solved by reading the lease where everything is outlined in detail. The apartments are being updated from my understanding, but ultimately, for the location and the price theyre not bad at all!
Very nice community, super supportive staff, quick maintainance. They have a very nice amenities including gym, swimming pool and lots of games. Monthly events are really great. I hope staff remains like this only. Shared bedroom apartments have separate bathroom for each bedroom. Nice thing to have.
As far as college apartments go, not bad
Maintenance is super slow and doesnt say a word to you when theyre in your place. Work orders take way longer than they should to be complete. The office staff is nice. But any time you have an issue, the manager is busy or in a meeting At least thats what they are told to tell you. The unit itself is nice but thats about it.
Great apartments for college students!! I love everyone in the office, they are also so friendly and fast! On a bus route and a short walk from campus. Great indoor heated pool. Free tanning beds! Basketball and tennis courts.:)
I have lived at Launch for 2 years and signed a renewal. I havent had any issues with the Office or Maintenance staff! I love the activities and FREE FOOD!!!! My dog has fun playing in the dog park. No Complaints and close to campus!
This is the perfect location if youre looking to stay off campus but still close enough that you can walk. Its an amazing property for the price youre getting. Ive lived in 3 different apartments here and Ive liked every one of them. Two of the units I lived in faced the River, which is a nice view to wake up to in the morning. I also have two dogs, so the fact that they have TWO dog parks is really great. The indoor pool and game room are great for when I have friends over. I also love using the gym and tanning beds. The staff is super friendly and will greet you by name when you enter the leasing office (not many other complexes are able to do that) Launch has monthly events so its nice to hang out with friends / neighbors as well as the leasing staff and even management!
Ive only been here a month but I must say that the minor move-in issues were expressed to the office staff and immediately resolved. It too is a great feeling to walk thru the office doors or anywhere for that matter and be greeted by my first name from the staff. I e never had a negative moment while being here. For anyone looking for a cozy place to call home, I highly recommend inquiring with Launch. As myself, Im sure you too will be pleased with your decision to call Launch your home. 5 stars hands down......
1 star because I cannot give 0. Worst apartment ever, house is so old, extremely loud because it’s located right next to the road, the apartment is falling apart. I will not recommend anyone to live here.
I really wish zero stars could be an option just like other people have said here. There’s a reason why so many people have posted negative comments about this place. Absolutely the worst management in West Lafayette. I urge anybody considering to move here to invest somewhere better. Even if the other place is more expensive in the long run it will be better than Launch. They are extremely unprofessional, the staff at the office has no idea what they are doing or how to deal with customers, and unless you constantly probe them to solve your problems, they absolutely won’t. I NEVER got my key to the recreation room and upon move in management said they’d give it to me by the week. This is just a slight taste of how unprofessional they are. They will even go as far as not notifying if something they owe you hasn’t arrived. They overcharge you to the penny from your deposit and overcharge you if you miss rent by a single day which has no correlation to their style of living, the Apartments are pure awful & overpriced for their price. Move to Waterfront or Avenue Apartments for cheaper and WAY better living conditions. I have lived in cheaper and larger places that return deposits back within 2 weeks, whereas this place takes up to months to give you back your deposit. I cannot emphasize enough to not choose this place to live.
I have been living here for 3 years and the management has changed 3 times. The most recent management (Launch Social Living) do not really care about their residents. The management seems to be always busy or in a meeting when there is an issue that I would like to discuss. They always make me to talk the front desk people who are nice, but not knowledgeable about many things. Also, although I turned in my rent renewal application in, they told me in April that they did not receive my application and rented my apartment to someone else to move in at the beginning of August. They told me that the only way for me to stay in the same unit is to sign a new lease and pay the new price of the unit instead of the renewal offer. As I mentioned, I have been living here for 3 years and I was NEVER late on paying my rent and I would expect more appreciation and fairness from the leasing office. These apartments are old and although they are renovated, the renovations are very superficial and a lot of things, including my refrigerator, are extremely old. Due to my busy schedule this summer, I have decided to sign the new lease with the new price, but I am definitely moving out next year and will share this information with everyone who asks me suggestions for places to live. For the prices that they are offering now, it is not really worth to rent at this place. There are other apartment complexes in the area that are closer to campus and could be rented at a similar rate. On a final note, I am also not satisfied with the cleaning of the apartment buildings. This is a pet friendly community and my building is always very dirty because of pets and inside the building smells really bed.
I removed my review because it was written in malice and not in all honesty. The people who manage and work in the office are very caring and wonderful people. Yes the rent is expensive but it is worth it. I wish I could be on the first floor since they removed the elevator due to my health issues but that is neither here nor there. The apartments are quiet and have great insulation.
Since living at Launch, I have had an amazing experience. From the friendly staff, great atmosphere, and beautiful views of the river I couldnt think of anyplace better to live while I attend Purdue. There are always community events going on at Launch which really makes you feel like youre part of a family. I also really enjoy the tennis courts and indoor heated pool!
Lived here for 3 years n loved it. Location couldn’t be better can walk to campus right on the river beautiful view. Office staff is awesome very nice will help ya out with anything n if an issue comes up maintenance is on top of it right I would definently recommend living here
Its been a positive experience so far. I love my apartment, and Im so glad I was able to find a pet-friendly community. The apartment is spacious and was clean when I moved in. Maintenance is friendly and quick to respond to any requests, overall a very positive location.
First of all, if you do any sort of research, you’ll find that the majority of the 5 star reviews are from launch employees, so take those with more than a grain of salt... I have lived here since August of 2018. It’s an okay place to live. I will agree with each of the launch employee’s reviews that the rooms are “spacious” (seriously... at least try to be a little less obvious...). They are also very pet friendly and their pet fee is lower than most places around campus. However, maintenance is not responsive and they often do not leave notices behind if they have been in your apartment. Although, they are pretty good about snow removal. The people that work the front desk are kind enough, but the higher ups don’t seem to care much for their residents. I personally live in building 12, and at least twice a month the building’s fire alarm goes off (often around 2:00 am). It appears that Launch has done nothing to resolve this over the past 8 months. You would think the fire department would ask them to look into it, as I’m sure they aren’t happy having to come by for false alarms this often. Additionally, my electric bill has almost doubled during the cold months, so I’m guessing the insulation is subpar. It’s not a terrible place to live, but it also isn’t a 5 star place to live. If you’re a college student looking for a relatively close and relatively cheap place to live, Launch isn’t a bad option. Do know that it isn’t far enough from campus that you’ll have the option of buying a Purdue parking pass.
Initially I was liking this place for the price I was getting it for but later the person right below my apartment started making noise ( or I shoud stay he jumps which shakes the whole floor) early morning and late at night which is very disturbing and that noise wakes me up almost everyday. I lodged a lot of noise complaints but the management kept on procrastinating saying that they will take action. Poor management. Now, I regret staying here.
I picked this community because they are close to campus, pet affirming, and seemed decently managed. Overall not a bad place to live so far, seems to be a good area, but has its issues. Maintenance is great, there were a few things that needed fixed at move in and they got 90% of my requests completed pretty fast, though I am still waiting for them to remove the broken microwave (may need to submit another request). Staff are friendly and helpful (mostly worked with Alex) and seem pretty happy to work here.Main complaint is I am on the 3rd floor and there are no elevators, so its been hard for my old dog. Also, they want you to renew your lease 9mos out to keep the same rates, otherwise they raise them, which is crazy.Note: The prices arent awful, but they arent cheap if you live alone. I pay $735 for a one-bedroom, plus $50/mo for two pets, plus electric ($40-90/mo), utilities ($40-50/mo), and internet ($20/mo). So it is a lot for one person. If you dont care about living close to campus, you can probably find something better for less, but all things considered, it is not the worst place to live by any means.
These are great apartments that offer a lot of space and amenities. The location to Purdue University is convenient...especially with the bus line being in front of the community. The office staff is always willing to help regardless of my situation. Great place to call home!
I have lived here for almost a year now and have really enjoyed it! Spacious apartments at a resonable price! I really like that there are nice areas to walk my dogs and there are multiple trash can with bags for pet clean up. The pet policy is excellent. No breed or weight restrictions. Also, I enjoy using the indoor pool during winter time! The staff is very friendly and I have not had any issues with maintenance requests.
I had a lot of fun tie dying some masks this weekend at one of their events that management throws for the residents!
I would rate it more at a 3.5, but there is not an option for it. I think that this place has really good potential. I absolutely love my apartment, it is the perfect size for me and when I moved in, everything was great. Everything gets fixed when I asked, but I have not had any large issues at all. My only complaints are that I was charged a $100 late fee on my rent, which was not my fault. It may have been an accident, but a $70 credit was added to my account, so when I paid my rent, the balance was $0. They then added that $70 back to my account, and charged me a $100 late fee on it. I get that business is business, but I was pretty upset with the way the situation was handled by the staff. I have never once been late on my rent, granted I usually pay it early. Also, the package situation is a little strange, if I get a note on my door that my package is at the office - I am going to go pick it up. I understand it can be for security reasons, or sorting reasons, but sometimes they tell me its not there... when it clearly is. I think that since there is new management, it is going to take time for things to get into a good flow. Overall, I do like living here and I renewed my lease.
Ive had an awesome experience living here. When I first moved in, it had obviously been cleaned thoroughly and some of the appliances even looked brand new! The maintenance staff is also incredible. Every time Ive called them, theyve fixed my problem within a couple of days, and sometimes even the same day I reported the issue. The buildings are old, but theyre well-kept and the staff really cares about the tenants. Its also great for dogs, since there are two fenced in areas for dogs to exercise and play. Im really looking forward to living here next year.
I lived here for three years, just moved out at the end of July. Although I did have a couple issues that nobody was at fault for, management worked with me to make sure everything came out right in the end, and for that I’m thankful. As long as you communicate with them, the management and the maintenance team is on your side.Other positives about the complex: plenty of parking, nice amenities (indoor swimming pool, tennis court, workout area, etc), and great location - can walk to campus or downtown. The staff also plans many social functions throughout the year for the residents. I lived on the bottom floor and had a very large fenced patio, which I enjoyed greatly. My one bedroom apartment was also very spacious - I had an oversized bedroom and even had a small storage area too. 👍🏽👍🏽
Ive lived under three different managements in West Lafayette, and this is by far the best. I feel like the apartments are good quality for a fair rate. They are pet friendly, their management staff have always been polite and responsive, and maintenance has been respectful and prompt.
Received security deposit after seven and half months of vacating only after several phone calls, emails and a notice that they have violated the Indiana State law and I could file suit if I decide to. Advice to current tenants: : Keep a record of EVERYTHING. Once they hiked up our rent after we signed the lease which is illegal too. When we showed them a copy of the signed lease which we had retained for our records, they apologized and brought the rent down to the value that we signed for. Clearly, from my experience, these people can violate the law any time. Its better to have everything in writing (even the oral communication- ask them to send an email of what you discussed on phone and make sure they do).Advice to new incoming international students: : I was a new international student when I signed the lease with them. This place is fairly close to campus and very intelligently advertised. I would say that there are other better options near campus which are cheaper or have similar rent. However, do read all the reviews carefully before you make a decision. Some of the good reviews are written by their own employees who live there. I would question the unbiasedness of such reviews. Do talk to people who have lived here before. Finally, if you do decide to live here, please keep records of EVERYTHING you sign or discuss with these guys and read the lease carefully.
If I could give less than one star, I will. They claim that everything is better under the new management. Having stayed here for three years, I can say that it has become even worse. They have hired bunch of irresponsible people in their management who show no empathy towards their tenant.I am very upset with the renovation activities in the apartment while we were staying in it and did not provide a guest apartment upon repeated requests. The apartment is full of dust and garbage and inhospitable to live. and on top of that, they took MORE THAN TWICE the time they initially scheduled it for and their response during this whole time was that they cannot control construction schedule. They showed no concern or no support from their end to lessen our inconvenience.Dont fall for their sugarcoated words when you go to sign the lease. You would repent later. You would find much better apartments closer to the campus, at the same rate or cheaper. Keep looking.
Apparently I am paying for the new club house but it seems like it is just for show: the cue ball is missing for the pool table and ping pong table is dysfunctional. Tennis courts are nice but havent been swept since the Fourth of July at least (there are still firework remnants).I also had an issue where my automatic payment did not go through, and was ultimately charged $100 late fee for not paying within the grace period. Even though I have always paid my rent on time, they told me this is a business.I would not recommend living here.
I have lived in two other properties near Purdue and liked Williamsburg on the Wabash the most for the price. The rent is reasonable compared to other properties near the Purdue Campus but it is a bit further away. They have a bit of construction and renovation going on but are pretty good about keeping the noise to a minimum. I have only had one maintenance problem and it was fixed the next day.
2 out of 3 washers in my laundry room do not work and have not been working from the last 2 months yet they are not fixed yet!
Horrible place to live. Tried giving us a trashed apartment and we ended up having to live in the model home with a sink and dishwasher that wasnt hooked up. This morning is the 3rd morning in the past 3 months that Ive had to get ready with no water. They randomly turn it off at least once a month. My buildings fire alarms also go off anywhere from 4 times a week to every other week. Their idea of fixing it is turning the alarms off. Needless to say, I dont feel safe. Our mailbox has been broken since the day we moved in. It wont close so our mail is out in the open for anyone to grab. We have told them about this numerous times and each time they tell us that it isnt their responsibility and to take it up with the post office. I beg to differ. The staff is useless and dont know what they are doing. Please do not waste your money here.
5 buildings here started school in a pandemic with no running water for several days- thats no hand washing, no showers, toilets, or cooking. And they are refusing to compensate us.
Williamsburg on the Wabash staff helped create a wonderful experience for me and my apartment search. I definitely signed a lease because I couldnt pass up the awesome specials! Chanel and Nicole were really helpful and I definitely recommend this property to anyone else looking for a good view and a good deal.
I LOVE THIS PLACE!! The property is so big and it sits right next to the Wabash River, which gives a GREAT view! The office is always open late and the staff is always helpful and polite when working with them. The maintenance staff are always polite and work to the best of their ability. The ammentaties are outstanding and they have a great special going on right now!
Has all the amenities including swimming pool, gym, tennis courts etc. And organizes events regularly. Fun place to be in.. Edit: Worst place to be in WL. I used to live at Launch for one year and these guys posted hefty fake cleaning charges worth 328$ at the end. These guys really take advantage of the fact that we are international students and try to push us around.
Dont move here. just dont.
Do yourself a favor and run away from this complex! I wish Ive done that last year.Every horror story you read here is true, Im living it right now. The unsafe environment, totally true! I had neighbors who were doing drugs ALL the time, it was not rare to see the police at least 2 times a week over there. On several occasions I saw people being taken away handcuffed, from that apartment. That lasted for months. As for my renovation experience, here it is: I knew that my 2 bedroom apartment was going to be renovated but I was never given an exact date. So, one day I was woken up by construction workers ready to enter my room. I had to miss work that day to pack all my belongings.Theyre building a new bathroom in the master bedroom, the closet was teared down and most of my clothes and shoes ended up in boxes. I was not able to fit my bed in the smallest room because I have a desk and a small twin bed, so me and my boyfriend have to take turns to sleep on the floor. This little room is the only space we have to eat, sleep and work because everything else is cover in plastic, dust, and wood.I have been living in this unsafe environment for twice as long they said this would last, and it does not look like theyre going to finish anytime soon. The construction workers show up at random times, in the last 2 weeks they only came 3 or 4 days at most, and only for a couple of hours, it is true Im not even exaggerating. When they come, they have no problem with moving your personal stuff without your permission. Nobody communicates with you, one day I came home, ready to have dinner only to realized that the stove was gone. My food and dishes were scattered all over the place, ruin with dust and dirt.Theyve now started renovating other buildings without finishing ours. They simply dont care about the residents, all their promises are lies, do not trust a single thing they say!! Once youre here they neglect you, Ive been trying to talk to the manager for days, she claims shes always busy and the front desk people (although nice) simply cannot answer your questions. We were given a $50 dollars gift card, but that doesnt even cover the extra money I have to pay in electric bills and my food they ruined. I am waiting to see if I will get a rent reduction but I would not be surprised at all if theyre expecting me to pay full rent during this 2 months.I never thought I could be treated this bad, this is by far the WORST place Ive ever lived in. I understand that renovations are messy but thats no excuse for management to handle this situation so poorly, and no excuse to treat residents and their belongings like trash.
