Me and my boyfriend have lived here for a month so far and we love it! The apartment has been great, neighbors are not to loud and the pool area and gym are fairly nice. Every time I have spoke with management they have been very nice and super friendly! No complaints here!
We have been here for just over 3 months now and the community has remained upkept and very comfortable. The apartment is nicely updated and the community does offer nice amenities. The gym does not have Gold’s Standard equipment, but still has everything one needs to get a great workout in. The office staff is always super welcoming, friendly, and willing to help. Moving here from out of state, we’ve had plenty of talks with Broca about the area, UT, national parks and travel ideas and she’s always giving us great plans and has been incredible. The maintenance guys have always been right over to work on the apartment if something is needed. Frank especially has been super great to work with. Super nice and respectful of our space and all out good dude!
Our experience in 2 years living in this complex has been very pleasant. The staff is amazing, friendly, helpful, especially Broca and Frank, they are awesome!
Horrible management! Never answered all the times I’ve called, took 3 or 4 days to get a call back. Pay for amenities which includes the pool and it’s always closed for “some reason” would not recommend to anyone. Oh not to mention there are mice everywhere
Excellent place to live, great location! The community is very organized and all the neighbors are good people. Pet friendly and is excellent for kids.
Horrible and I mean Horrible service, they have so many fees that they dont talk about at all and when I called to talk to them about it they were rude and mean and its not worth it at all, they told me I would get a refund for applying but at this rate I dont trust them at all seriously the worst apartments management place that I have ever talked to. the worst, Im telling dont look at this place.
I moved out last year and until now, I haven’t received the remaining for my deposit yet.rip
I have mixed feelings about Boulder Canyon apartments. I moved out over 3 months ago and have yet to receive my deposit back. The office is unreasonably difficult to get ahold of. If you need to speak to someone immediately, be prepared to literally spam call them over and over again until someone answers. Because, rest assured, if you leave a voice-mail you will not be getting a call back. Furthermore, typical turn time for my emails to be replied to (since I can not get them on the phone) is 3-5 business days. To say Im irritated with this situation is an understatement. (When i confronted them about phone calls and emails not being returned, I was met with attitude and told they reply to all emails and return calls the same day so I should not be having this problem. Lol yeah right.) After months of reaching out to get my deposit back with no success (apparently I didnt provide a forwarding address when I know that I did provide it, not once, but TWICE.) It is looking like I will have to make the drive up to their office and physically retrieve my deposit, as getting it to me by mail has been next to impossible. Now, when I lived there, this issue wasnt as bad (still not great, but better than it is now) so I am not sure what has changed, but once this is over with I will be SO GLAD to be done dealing with their office staff. When I lived there, I enjoyed how clean everything was and I always felt safe. I never had packages stolen or anything like that. When my cat escaped and was missing for several days, the office sent out an email to all residents with his photo and this was ultimately what led to him being found. I can not thank them enough for that. (This is the only reason I am giving 2 stars.)However, the walls are literally paper thin. I could hear EVERYTHING happening on each side there was a shared wall and dont even get me started on the upstairs neighbors... The complex is right next to a school so there are a lot of families that live there, aka LOTS of small (loud) kids. If you can, avoid getting a unit that faces the play ground. You will never have a peaceful summer night. Also the pool area is underwhelming and small. For the amount of kids that live there, it would be wise for them to expand at least the concrete area around the pool so people who are sun bathing have the opportunity to move away from playing/splashing children.Lastly, if you ever plan to have doordash deliver to you (or any other food delivery service) you will have to put in the notes very specific instructions for how to find your apartment. The apartment/building numbering is super confusing and borderline unsafe if there were an emergency. All around not very impressed by boulder canyon. For the price, plus all the additional monthly fees, I expected better. I plan to report the situation with my deposit to their management company so they can be made aware of how terribly they are handling this situation.
They put on a GREAT first impression (like most places) to get you in and sign a lease. Now they are charging me $2,000 for new carpet because they’re saying that my dog who’s been potty trained, and not had a single accident, for 7 YEARS peed on the carpet (yes she’s lived in apartments before, nothing new) and they had to replace the carpet. They couldn’t even tell me where the accident was. And I just received a phone call saying that I haven’t set up a payment plan with them to pay the $2,000 back when I have set one up 2 times. So now that I am going to set up a payment plan for the THIRD time. Maybe, in this case, third time is the charm?Incompetent crooks is what this place is full of. Keep looking, and good luck.
My family has lived here for over a year and had no second thoughts renewing our lease. The maintenance team is responsive and efficient, the office management is helpful and understanding. Id highly recommend this apartment complex!
Car got towed and have to pay over $250 to get back. There was clearly no sign around saying I couldn’t park in the spot. There’s been cars parked there that’s why I was parked there. If there had been a sign clearly it could have been avoided. Very unnecessary
We are moving in soon, and we are excited to be in a decent priced townhome and as decent as the prices sound the staff is super difficult to get ahold of. Ive tried for days and days (over 6 calls between my husband and I in the course of three business days) and we never get an answer or callback, and actually showed up after three days of no answer or callback and the staff was super dismissive and gave my husband a dirty look when he express his disappointment in the ignored calls. Theres also been a few mishaps of forgetting to send us documents needed, then, when we signed our lease (I downloaded it after signing) something happened so that we had to sign it again because they couldnt find it a few days before move in and tried to say it was because we didnt sign it, but I have it still downloaded from the day I did sign. And now, instead of being able to move in on time the day of move in, they said the earliest we can even do a walk through is one pm, so now my daughter has to miss her first day of school and we will be cutting it very short on our u-haul we reserved... I have hopes that things change and get better but so far, I want others to know what the experience has been so far because so far its been disappointing :/*Edit* 8/30/2021 as of now we havent had anymore issues. Theyve fixed most everything that we had an issue with and we were able to get moved in, super late in the day, but we did it, theyve started returning my calls within a 24 hour timeframe and thats all I could ever ask for. Maintenance has been good, some things needed fixing but nothing major, one big thing is internet has sucked but it works sometimes haha
Monica, Nicole and Bianca are awesome, friendly and professional. They make the place feel like home. They keep the grounds and building super clean and also involve the community in fun events during these hard times. Halloween contest for best decorated balconys!!! Free desert last month, which we had a food truck come. Things like this really mean alot. When it comes to getting things done they follow through. It does get busy but they always help in a great timely matter. Ive stayed in very expensive apartments, but this place is my top not only cause its beautiful and a great location. The people who take care of Boulder Canyon make the huge difference when it comes to deciding where to live. Resident Satisfaction Guaranteed!!!!!
An amazing apartment complex. Amazing staff has helped me on numerous occasions. They also do maintenance and its a very well kept apt complex with a nice pool and gym
The apartment was super nice! I love it. The gym is so nice to have. The grills are awesome! So clean everywhere and staff is helpful!
This place is amazing. The staff is very friendly and helped with every thing! They even had matinence come out and look at our washing machine when it made funny noises. They are always easy to find and talk to. Love living here
I lived there sometime ago with my wife and kids, it was unfortunately unpleasant to live there HOWEVER I had signed a lease of 12 months. Im sorry to hear you are unable to find me in your records although maybe is for the best. Much could be said but no need for that.
I lived here for almost 2 years and had very few issues. Office staff does a good job and maintenance issues are resolved in a timely manner. I would recommend living here.
Our experience in this apartment complex has been very gracious from the very beginning. I say this because of Anna, who is the Assistant Manager at the complex. She has been extremely helpful since day one. Boulder Canyon is lucky to have her! Im positive she goes above and beyond her duties on a daily basis which speaks volumes in the way she represents Boulder Canyons. Im very grateful for all that she does! Thank You!
They towed my car in a place there was no sign that said I couldn’t park! I was visiting there and the person I was visiting had no idea I couldn’t park where I was at. I was there for 4 hours at most and I parked in a spot that had no markings for an existing apartment, and no indication I couldn’t park there as a visitor. There was no sign, and now I have to pay $240 to get my car back from the tow company. That is insane, and not necessary for a visitor. If it had been made super clear and evident I couldn’t park there, the resident would have know that within 4 hours of parking there I would have been towed. That’s extreme and not necessary. I don’t recommend a management company that allows that to happen as a visitor.
I love to be live here! It’s such a nice place to live here! Ana, Savannah, and Monica are the best! Theyre always helpful and so amazing. Honestly, I dont think youll get customer service.
The maintenance here is great. On a Saturday when my dishwasher wasn’t working Frank came out and fixed it, he made sure everything was working well before he left. Best maintenance guy ever... and great apartments.
So far so good. Office staff very sweet. Was missing a part from inside the refrigerator on move in, was replaced promptly.
Apartments are difficult for me to live in, I havent had the best experience in the past. This apartment complex is different from my other experiences. This apartment complex has made the last six months easy for me. When there have been issues, someone has always come and fixed them promptly. The office staff, for how busy they are, are receptive and quick to resolve issues. They have worked with me on my lease extending when I needed an extra month, and I am very appreciative and grateful for them helping me out. They are good people.I work in commercial real estate. This is one of the better management companies Ive seen. They worked with me when I needed a place to stay fast after finding a carbon monoxide leak and sewer gas leak in my former townhome in South Jordan. They have been very accommodating, and are always very pleasant to me and helpful when I need it.Its difficult to know who to trust when renting. I personally feel that I am in good, caring hands, with this management team. Thank you!
Their maintenance crew is very responsive and on top of things. And they have a great system to fill out requests. The gym is great too.
My family has been here for over 2 years. Some things were better the first year, but overall, this is a great place to live! The staff has been very helpful and understanding anytime there is a problem. If I could give half stars, Id give a solid 4 1/2! We are happy to be part of the community.
I love living here! The office staff has been amazing and the maintenance have been great. I lived in a lot of different apartments and would recommend this apartment complex to everyone! They are very friendly and helpful. Thank you for all you guys do!!!
To the management of Boulder Canyon ApartmentsWhoever built this/your apartment complex must’ve been under the influence of illegal drugs or something. This apartment complex is poorly designed, the building numbers are poorly visible outside to the point that you can’t see what building number or letter when you’re driving by in your car, the carports right next to it obstructs them and you have to walk outside to know what building number or letter it is. If there were to be a fire or a emergency at this apartment complex, the difficulty in locating the units would pose a safety hazard to the residents. Also the apartment numbers in buildings is unorganized. The scramble the apartment numbers in the buildings. For example in an apartment building where there is 12 apartments on each floor they will mix apartment 101 and 102 with 111 and 112 instead of doing it like 101-104, 105-108, and 109-112, that makes it hard for first responders to locate residents in an emergency. Shame on who built this complex.Boulder Canyon, if someone else dies or becomes a crime victim here, I will expose the complexity of this apartment complex caused by those who built this place. You are putting the residents lives at risk and don’t care for their safety. You don’t scramble apartment numbers in buildings, you organize it like everybody else.
The staff at Boulder Canyon are always nice and very helpful! My apartment has all new flooring and appliances, which I love!!! I take advantage of the amazing gym, and the hot tub during the winter months is nice. The area is very nice as well, its close to Mountain View Highway, and stores. Overall I love love love living here!
Such a dirty complex! And the office is so rude! They dont care about you at all and are completely daft. Go to a different complex if at all possible!!!! If you have dogs, dont let them fool you. Your pets are NOT welcome!
Highly recommend against moving in here. Theyre decent apartments if youre in a pinch but they are managed horribly.
This community is beautiful and the location is perfect for our family. We found the entire staff to be helpful and very informative. They stood to greet us when we arrived to tour. The apartments are nicely renovated and we love the park. We will definitely be considering this community for our relocation here in May.
It is a GREAT community. however the stairs are stain and hallways are very dusty and have spider webs. If halls and stairs could be power washed i think it would give a nice clean aspect of the apartments. Also, if breezeway is NOT storage was strictly enforce that would also help maintain the clean appearance of the apartments. Other than that, Staff is great!
Boulder Canyon is a cozy community, the staff are all helpful and caring. The maintenance crew is really helpful and quick to respond whenever a problem arises. The grounds are well kept and overall a nice, quiet neighborhood. Great place to call home!
Coming from a first time renter, this place is a nice place to start. My boyfriend and I have lived here going on two years, and LOVE it.Of course youre going to run into crappy people you dont pick up after themselves, have snobby neighbors, and -gasp- have to pay for things. But in no way does that reflect how great it has been living here. The gym is fantastic great variety of equipment, beautiful playground and basketball court, and a perfect living space if youre just getting out on your own like us. The office staff has been nothing but good to us. Even when our second year started and our rent went up, they talked with us and negotiated a lower price. If you have a problem, ASK QUESTIONS.There are no hidden fees, everything you need to know about or could possibly have questions about IS IN YOUR LEASE AGREEMENT. This place is fantastic, I highly recommend. Especially for first time renters.
The new staff is absolutely amazing.! Renee has definitely stepped up and has been extremely helpful and communicates very well. Any issues or concerns, shes on it. I needed to transfer into a new unit and she took the time on many occasions to show me different units (the last staff never even showed me the unit I moved into until I moved in) and she has made this transition so smooth and I couldnt be any happier with the new staff!
I was working with them on a billing dispute and somehow I got sent to collections (which I think may have been a decision made by the parent company out of state somewhat arbitrarily). The Boulder Canyon staff were responsive after I raised the issue and helped me resolve it. While the old staff from a few years ago seemed to be disorganized and unhelpful, the current staff seems a lot more competent and engaged with the customers. I really appreciate the help that the current staff gave me.
Great units and nice amenities! The staff is so friendly and welcoming!
This was a great place and we considered renting, Renee was a great assistant extremely helpful and courteous. The reason we decide against this complex was the manager. While we discussing the apartment and different amenities and options confirming that she had no other appointments we would be keeping her from the manager comes and ask hers to place flyers around the complex, nothing of great importance that required her to interrupt a potential renter, we continued talking to Renee and building great rapport it was at this point the manger again interrupted and stated the flyers need to be posted at that moment, we then had to abruptly end our appointment, the manger did offer to stay and answer any additional questions, but her body language was not sincere, we would not rent here until the manger is trained on customer service or replaced.
I gave Boulder Canyon 5 stars because of the great customer service i receive every time i go to the office. They always remember my name and apartment number. I know it doesnt seem like a big deal, but after living somewhere for 5 years and being asked this info every time i walked in the door, it has been a VERY refreshing change!
This apartment complex is a very nice place to live I enjoyed my stay there but the manager and management team are just completely rude n they make no effort to resolve any issues with tenants. Also if any one want to keep paying extra money different from the lease agreement then it is a good place to live. Additionally you will also be charge for moving out after you lease expires.
Ive been here for a couple months now and it has nice commodities but theres things you might want to know. Ive caught one of their staff trying to film me on my porch with their phone, although you must smoke off the property I have a coffee can on my porch (which is hidden) to put my finished cigarettes in instead of littering and one of the staff came on to my porch, found it, and removed it which personally both accounts are invading privacy in my opinion. Very corporate, to the book, and unwilling to work with you.Other than that the gym, pool, area, and residents are nice.
The apartments are great, nice appliances, flooring, and layouts and I love that they accept pets. The gym is nice, even though it is not treated as such by the residents and the parking is terrible. However, if you have need to contact the office just be ready for them to hardly answer the phone and if you leave a voicemail be aware that they will NOT return your call. This week alone I have left 2 voicemails and NEVER received a call back. Also, any maintenance will be taken care of ONLY when it is convenient for them. My fridge broke Friday and it has taken until Thursday for this issue to be resolved. We lost all of our food since they did not come to fix our fridge until Monday, even though they were aware of the issue on Saturday and how they fixed our fridge was by putting in a new one and leaving the old one. As you can guess, it is not convenient to have 2 fridges in a one bedroom apartment. We asked to have the fridge picked up on Monday and it took until Thursday night after I had to call AGAIN for it to be finally picked up. Sadly, this is the second issue I have had with the maintenance. I used to love living here but now I am ready to get out! Especially after paying such a high rent amount you would think the residents would be treated better. If you never need maintenance them im sure you would enjoy these apartments.
I moved in a week ago. I have never not been able to reach someone while looking for a place all the way through occupying the place. Maintenance came by yesterday for fire extinguisher checks and they were courteous and friendly. They are all helpful and there are not any hidden fees, they tell you about them before you even apply. The units are nice, I live in the townhomes and cannot hear my neighbors at all.
Only giving them one star because I have to and because they are actually letting us out of our lease early and gave us some credit towards our account. Have had multiple issues with this place since the first week we moved in and they never dealt with it, even after being in their office every single month asking them to please fix the issues. We signed a lease for 1 year and thank god we can move out after being here only 5 months, nice apartments but the staff is absolutely horrible. Not worth the price, and all the hidden fees.
I moved here beginning of December, but didnt start living here until a few weeks later and just barely got my stuff from my storage unit delivered here last week, so I waited to submit a review. Ive so far had a very positive experience. The office staff are very responsive and available, so that if I have a question or concern, I can call them or stop by during open hours and someone is always there. Ive had the most contact with Savannah, and I appreciate that she follows up to make sure any issues are resolved. I had a couple of maintenance requests, and she called back to ask if they were being addressed and if there was anything else she could do. I was impressed by that extra follow-through and havent seen that in other places. She was also very thorough in going through the leasing application process and what all the fees would be. I was a little annoyed reading the other reviews of people who complain about hidden fees. I see similar complaints written about just about any apartment complex, and at least here, I wonder if people are just not paying attention. At least here, youre given a sheet of paper with every single fee listed on there and she even wrote them down separately and added them together to the rent to let me know how much Id be paying monthly. So anyone who complains about not knowing about the fees are either just not paying attention or not asking questions or something....Im also impressed with the maintenance staff. Upon moving in, I noticed that the top shelf of my lazy susan (the circular shelf where you can put pots and pans, etc) was broken and I asked if it could be fixed. When it couldnt be fixed on their initial visit, I was called by the maintenance manager (sorry, Im bad with names) who apologized for the delay and explained that theyd have to order the part. It took a while for it to be fixed for that reason, but I was impressed with the follow-up phone calls, which I never experienced in other apartments. They finally just took the part out of a vacant apartment so they could fix my shelf quicker. Great communication and the maintenance staff who came into the apartment were also very friendly and cheerful.I also had a broken toilet flusher and it was fixed within 30 minutes of me mentioning it to the office and this was on a Saturday. On the unit itself, the apartment is kind of far away from everything, but is close to a lot of stores (including a Smiths and gas stations just across the intersection). Its very quiet here and there is a great view of the mountains (at least from my windows). If youre someone like me who cooks a lot, the only feature I dont like as much are the very narrow drawers and cabinets. The drawers are about 7 inches in width, for example, and the cabinets are just wide enough to fit the width of the dinner plates....so organizing my storage has been a bit of a challenge. Every other apartment Ive lived in had more cabinet and drawer space than here. However, the counter space is large, and there is a decent sized pantry closet, so Ill make it work somehow. I also dont watch tv, but were automatically charged for cable/internet, but that seems to be the norm for the newer apartments. Since I wanted a newer place, it is what it is. I still havent activated the service yet, because I just barely got my furniture and am still moving in, and kind of wish we didnt have to be charged until we actually activated it, but maybe theres no way for the office to keep track of something like that.I havent checked out the fitness center yet, but it looks large with many different types of machines. I look forward to using it when I am fully moved in (just barely got my furniture).Overall, its been a good experience so far, and Id recommend it.
I had complaints about the people below me and the management came and listened to them and solved the issue and even gave me other options to help. The only thing that would be great is more options for parking.
Very very nice!
Boulder Canyon is a clean quiet place to live. The units, landscaping, and amenities are very nice. Maintenance has always been quick to complete repairs. Rent increases are a little pricey, and Im paying more than most people I know for a 1 BR, but over all its a very nice community.
The walls are paper thin so you can hear everything. There are a lot of hidden fees and extra fees that I got for when I left the apartments. Communication also lacked when it came to the move out process. The good about the apartments was that inside was nice and spacious.
Decent Apartments, the gym is great!! In the last several months they have repainted it and added a lot of new equipment. Some f the cardio machines still dont work but they have a wonderful variety of free weights pull up bars and even a heavy bag
This new manager is ridiculous. She literally told me my dogs can’t bark because there to loud. I understand that but dogs are dogs there going to bark. I felt like this was very unprofessional of her and very rude. I’ve been living here for so long and never had this issue with the management before her. If I can rate this no stars I would because of her additude. My dogs have never been left unattended as well. So before you assume stuff gets facts straight.
The apartments are smaller than I thought for the price. They are nice on the inside.I like that I see pets are accepted.I dont like that you can leave your trash in the open hallway (not closed in so Snow can come in, etc) for a week before it is taken care of by staff.)I was just there pet sitting with a friend.
These guys are awesome! I love the environment and my apartment is amazing! The people in the office are friendly. So 5 stars!
My family and I have lived here at Boulder Canyon in the townhomes for 1 1/2 years now. We chose this location because the of the spacious and open floor plan...... everything else we looked at was small and felt closed in. After being here for a couple months, we realized that the floor plan wasnt the only benefit we could enjoy here. The pool and hot tub are fabulous along with the large gym. We have been pleasantly surprised with how quiet it is here and how well the property is maintained. Our experience living here at Boulder Canyon has been wonderful and I dont think you can find a nicer community with the same amenities for the price. Highly recommend it!
Honestly the worst management ever if you want to spend thousands of dollars on random fees and charges this is a great place 😬😬😬 very unorganized and they never take blame!!! Even though they say under new management we have all seen it before I lived here a year and there was 4 changes in the office .....terrible!
Went an applied there. Paid the fees required and told that if we didnt get approved then they would refund the $100. Well my husband called when we werent approved to get our money refunded. We were told it would be back in our account no longer than a week. Well a month later and multiple phone calls and messages left and no answer. The problem has not been resolved. They must have caller ID or something because they will no longer answer our calls.Update: had to finally go in and request it and now all the sudden its not refundable! Pieces of crap people and place! Horrible business
This is a very nice place to be in
They we so fast and friendly with my cousin and I, they helped us with in 5 minutes and had all information need it to apply !! both representatives working there know what they are doing.
This was probably one of the worst experiences I have had being in an apartment. With little options we moved in here for 6 months while our house was being built. They seemed to be really reasonable price. Come to find out that is all just a scam upfront. Once you sign the contract they add a page full fees on top of rent. I have lived in several apartment complexes over the years and never seen this. They want you to pay for their community utilities like water, lights, garbage, and whatever else they can think of. That should all be included in the rent you charge. Then, when I called to ask about over 120 dollars in extra fees I was told it was complicated and I could come in so they could explain it. I put together multi-million dollar contracts, I am pretty sure I understand that you are scamming me out of money. When we moved in we only had 24 hours to do a walk-through to right down issue with the unit. Well we were so busy trying to get the keys to the unit and move that we didnt have enough time to do a good walk-through and some issue for the apartment were not seen tell later. Most complexes give you at least 3 to 4 days to do this same process. Then, when you move out they think of every kind of way to charge you more money. The unit we were in was by fair cleaner when we left than when we moved in. I mean we washed the blinds in the living because they dirt and something looked like snot on them. The water was black after we got done. When we approach the office about it they didnt even care.Apartment layout, at least for the one bdrm-den, were horrible. The kitchen was useless with little to no cabinet space. The flooring job they did was horrible. The didnt tack down the cheap carpet right and the linoleum had bubbles in sections of it. The gas grills were a nice touch in the pool area except they didnt work for most the time we were there. The pool itself was not bad, but the hot tub was dirty and gross. Tenants let their kids splash around it it like it was a kiddy pool. It was not even very hot but maybe for a week.
Sent an email last week via their website, no response. Called yesterday, no answer or opportunity to leave a voicemail... Because the box was full. Called today, no answer. Again, no opportunity to leave a voicemail because the box was still full. They clearly want tenants.
We have lived here for some time. If you like being nickel and dimed to death this is the place for you. There are hidden fees that they dont tell you about. Valet garbage pick up which I never use but HAVE to pay for anyway, plus the garbage pick up from the big dumpsters as well. You also pay for the lighting and gas in the common areas which we never use. For as much rent as they get, youd think they could pay for the common areas themselves. Now after having maintenance come in to fix an issue, just found out they are charging us. Base rent is $1200. By the time all the hidden issues are charged we pay roughly $1500 plus.
My wife and I were considering living here and even filled out an application. As an after thought we read the reviews here and got a little scared away. Partly because of the reviews here, but mostly because another apartment opened up that we liked more, we decided to cancel our application. Because they had not even screened me yet we were able to get our application fee back as well as the $200 holding fee. So I cant say I lived here, but the staff has been extremely professional and helpful. They dont seem as bad as some of these reviews seem to shout out.
Was interested in renting from them so I stopped in for a visit on a Saturday morning. No other guests were there. An employee took me back to his office handed me a floor plan, told me how to apply, and then said, have a nice day. Didnt offer a tour or anything. I was in and out in 5 min or less. Very disappointing.
I lived here for one year and I didn’t ever have any problems until I moved out. I received a final bill and I went into the leasing office to give them a check, this was at the beginning of December when the payment was due. There were two girls in the office that advised me that it was their first day, there was not a manager or anyone there to train them. They didn’t know what to do, but said they would “try” to help me. I gave one of them my check and she said she would give it to whoever it needed to go to. After a week, the check did not come out of my account so I went back in to see what was going on. They said they didn’t know and that the two girls that took my check no longer work there and the girl I was speaking with told me it was her first day there as well. I ended up writing another check and later that day that girl called me and said she found the first check and it was applied to my account as paid and she would void and shred the new check I wrote. Well two more weeks went by and nothing came out of my account, I called again and they advised me that it was my bank and they show that it was paid. The next day I received an email stating that my account with boulder canyon was past due. I was furious, I ended up paying the bill online and put a stopped payment on the check that was supposedly cashed. This place is a joke, the staff is untrained and unsupervised, while handling residents money. They don’t have any answers to anything to do with their policies!
The people who complain about Boulder Canyon are really just wanting to complain. I have lived here for almost 2 years. Just like any communal living environment there are people who dont know how to act, but the staff in the office ALWAYS makes sure they address any issues that arise. Smoking is not allowed in the Breezeways or on the balcony. Storage is not allowed on the balconies, or in the breezeways. Storage units and garages are available for those who need them, but some people try to get away with not having to pay for a unit. The office always addresses the issues. Boulder Canyon is a great communal community. If you dont want to deal with issues. Buy a house, if you are choosing an Apartment, then definitely look at Boulder Canyon. Pets are welcome too :)
Ive lived here for 3 years and recently moved from a large one bedroom apartment into a Townhome. The only reason for removing one star was the noise between apartments can sometimes get pretty bad depending on your neighbors however, the Townhome has been fantastic.Ive been really happy with the change in the office staff. The new management has been fantastic to work with. As with anything, or anyone, if you are friendly and kind, they are friendly and kind as well. I love the new staff and am happy to call this place home until I can buy my own place.
I like living here for the most part. I find the staff helpful, and my apartment is really nice for the price. I dislike the internet provider a lot and you are locked in with them. It also gets fairly loud with all the kids around, though that doesnt really bother me. Overall a nice place to live.
This community is really nice and the location for us is good very convenience!!! The staff are really nice and helpful !!! We are happy to live here !!
The neighbors blair music all hours of the night with their front door open and smoking weed inside the building, mandatory internet service that hardly ever works and the parking is terrible. Anyone looking to pay for services and get nothing in return, have crappy neighbors and nowhere for your vehicle then welcome home!
For 2 years was never late on a payment. But payments increased a lot. Especially when you renewed a lease. Which I found unfair. Lots of cops around here for that area of WJ. And my truck got hit in and assigned parking stall. Cops wouldnt do anything. Fees for everything. Pool was over the top maxed out with people and crypto; never could use it. So noisy. On the plus side, was cute and well insulated.
If you are thinking about moving here, go take a look at the pictures on my facebook. I keep asking for this to be fixed or cleaned up but to no avail. Is this what you want everyone to see coming to your door (not to mention the stuff that tracks in) or how about having a picnic with your children? I can not recommend Boulder Canyon.
If I could give them 0 stars thats what I do. The girls up front dont care about anything except pension every penny they can out of you. Fees on top of fees on top of fees. Theyre all about meeting you in an apartment it seem so nice about it but when it comes to move out they take you for everything they can. Lost my job try to let them know I would be a little late and what she said and thats not my problem. The worst part about the complex is the management and the girls up front. Definitely dont move in there!!
Alix and Eman are wonderful! I love the fact that Avenue5 took over! This is my 3rd year as a tenant and I absolutely hated Alliance. My rent has gone down, internet upgraded and they worked with me during a rough patch. Talk about customer appreciation, thanks guys!
If you are looking to move in I would highly suggest that you choose another complex. When we moved in to our apartment it was very dusty and dirty. It didnt even look like they had someone clean it. We spent a whole week just cleaning each room. Now that we are settled in we have noticed when we are walking outside that there is dog poop everywhere. We have little kids and if they walk in the grass they are sure to step in a big like that the owners didnt pick up. Its very frustrating that the pet owners cant do there part in cleaning up after there own dog. Which leaves it for the maintenance men who are already busy with the others things.I will say the gym in nice HOWEVER, they dont supply it with the proper cleaning solution. Who wants to sit on a bench that has had someones sweat body all over it or lay on a mat that has dust and dirt on it?! Isnt there some kind of health code that needs to be followed? So make sure to bring your own cleaning solution and your own towels to wipe down the equipment. I have asked about getting some cleaning solution so well see what happens and how long that takes. You also end up with hidden fees that you get billed for monthly that no one tells you about. You will be paying for power for the common areas and gas for the common areas. Which I am guessing is the gym. So if you dont even use the gym you are paying for other people. Pricey rent in general for the square feet you are given. There is very little storage area in the unit you are given, therefore making you have to choose to get a garage and racking up the expenses!I havent had to deal with staff that much so I cant make a comment thereWe have had maintenance fix a couple things and they were here quick and got stuff done. So I was pleased with that.
These apartments didn’t give us ALL the paper work right away! Had us running around in circles for a month. Would tell us that we have one more paperwork to do, but as we turn those in they would gave us more paperwork. If you have dogs, don’t expect to get in easy either. The management is horrible.
Update - August 2020 - After 2 years, we are leaving Boulder Canyon to rent a townhome. Our main reason for moving: we need more space & an attached garage. We have overall really loved living here and I would recommend them to anyone. I would say the biggest con would be hearing our neighbors - through all walls and our front door but honestly, that just comes with living in an apartment. Its nothing the complex can really do. Not really a con, but there are a LOT of kids here and the pool gets busy on weekends in the summer time so just something to be aware of.The management here is excellent. Monica has been the manager our entire time weve lived here which I feel is rare seeing as there is a lot of turnover within property management and she is so nice! Any time Ive had to call about something (which hasnt been a lot), they are always very quick to handle. The maintenance and landscape guys are AWESOME. This summer. Ive seen them outside so much and they seem to really care about making sure the complex stays clean and tidy. Weve only had maintenance come out once in the 2 years weve lived here and it was just for a new shower head. One thing to be aware of is they do have a company that tows cars if your registration is expired, etc. This is noted when you first move in but unfortunately my husband has had his jeep towed once before so just keep that in mind.Lastly, we have always felt very safe living here. The only problem weve ever had was someone threw an egg at my car when we first moved in and im sure it was just a teenager being dumb. They also put ketchup all over our neighbors car in the same day.I know this is a lengthy review but if it can help someone decide to live here, im all for it! You wont regret moving in here!Original Review - January 2019 - We have lived here for just about 4 months and really like it so far. Yes, the rent is a bit high but that is just about anywhere nowadays in Salt Lake. We havent had any maintenance issues so I cant speak to that. We really love our apartment, its a one bedroom with new appliances and nice flooring and clearly new carpet. The bathroom is huge and everything is very open. SO much natural lights. One major con, the walls are very thin. I can hear the people in the bedroom next to me coughing, etc. and every time our neighbor turns on their TV or music, it sounds like a rave is going on down there. Keep in mind, we are on the third floor. Thought we were getting away from noise but nope. I work from home a lot and have not experienced bad wifi so far so that is a PLUS. Another con Ive experienced is that I rarely am able to get the leasing office staff on the phone and theres usually only one person working on Saturday when everyone is coming in so just be prepared. The staff is very nice especially Anna, she was very accommodating when we were moving out of state. Depending on what they raise our rent to when our lease is up, we may stay or move elsewhere. I would recommend the complex for sure :)
Awesome community and beautiful apartments. However, they make you give a 60 day written notice that youre not renewing your lease and tell you nothing about it until youre about to move out. Very expensive rent as well.
We toured this property and really liked it. It seemed a bit expensive but not so much we couldnt afford it. So we paid the application fees the holding fee and the lease initiation fee. When we actually saw the lease it turned out that there were about $300 in additional monthly fees that we werent informed of. I asked for the holding and lease initiation fees back and was told that since we were approved the fees are non refundable. When i explained that we cannot afford the fees we werent told about. She called me a liar and said that she told me about all of the fees when we toured the property. Very sleezy dishonest management. Run the other way as fast as you can from these dirty con artists!
The maintenance staff is awesome. We have a response within an hour and everything is always fixed.
I have never lived in a worst community. Not only is there onsite management terrible at communication, but their corporate office was offensive, rude, used profanity and hung up on me. It has been over 9 months since I lived at Boulder Canyon and they are NOW coming after me for money. They do not have a copy of my move in form, when I offered to give them my copy I had, they stated it wouldnt make a difference. They werent willing to work with me at all. Very disappointed in this property management company.
Its peaceful. The people here are great to work with. Its always clean.
Nice apartments. The outside is well maintained
I would love to live out there some day
Living at Boulder Canyon has been the worst experience. I have had the worst neighbors about half way through my lease, let the leasing office know about it multiple times and they assured me that legal action would be taken. Nothing has happened. The management is failing to do their job by handling disruptive behavior of other tenants. It should be the managements job to take care of a situation that has gotten out of control, and they have done nothing about it. It just shows that they cant keep their end of the lease agreement. I would never recommend living here. I am very disappointed in the way they handle things at Boulder Canyon.
Do not rent from this company. They take forever to fix problems, their facilities are always under construction and take 4-6 months to complete any work that they do on the property and then loose payments that are brought in and then accuse you of lying. Also, when you move out, they send your bill to collections and charge you additional fees you did not agree to. If you dont pay, then they hit your credit. If you want to dispute anything, you have to spend more money, which is not worth it. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!
If it was possible to to put no stars I would. I never have paid for an application that was pretty pricy and not get my money back once I had cancel it they still take money. If are applying and so arent sure I wouldnt waste your time here. There truly are hidden nonsense fees you have to pay for that you cannot get out of.
I absolutely love this place, The staff are lovely and they are very caring and take really good care of you and the apartments are so beautiful.
They never answer the dang phone they opened at 10 and I called constantly till 11:30 I havent lived there since last year in may. They claim to never get voice mails and they say they tried calling you back but havent called you at all. I would not recommend living here you can get a better place for cheaper! The property manager is really stuck up and snotty.
Great place to relax with frieds.
It is a great place to live and the maintenance of property has been very impressive. We have enjoyed the view of the mountains, pool and weight room is great.
I have lived in this community for two years and the quality of the apartment themselves is great. However, the price for the apartment and the area its in is bad. The staff is horrible. The main manager Ms. Wade is a fairly pleasant and then testy other times. Like other reviews, the staff is professional to your face and over the phone but a resolution to any problem takes forever to resolve. It took an entire summer for the staff to control the field mice problem they have every summer. They took nearly two weeks to fulfill a work order to fix the dishwasher in my unit because a part was on back order. They never gave me any compensation for waiting for the part while I washed my dishes by hand.Yet, they expect their rent money on the first of each month and give out late fees anytime after the first. The property doesnt allow gas or charcoal grills on the patio areas and fine those who have them on their patio. They allow people to smoke on their patios. Im a smoker but I dont smoke every 30 minutes like my neighbors and leave butts ground. They require you to have a communication package for $90 which includes basic phone, internet and dish network. The internet is bad. The phone doesnt have long distance and the basic dish channels blow.Available parking is horrible. Not enough spots for all of the residents.Overall, the only good thing about this community is the quality of the apartment and they allow pets. Other than that its over priced and the staff is horrible. No customer service or resolution skills whatsoever.
Man I hate giving negative reviews but I feel like this needs to be said to warn others before moving in here. My husband and I sold our home and chose to rent for 11 months while we looked for a new home.. we found and bought a new home during our 10th month renting and I paid off my lease what “I thought” was in full in advance. I gave my 30 day notice and sure enough I received a notice on my door during my final month saying to come in and talk to them about month to month rent. When I went into the office to talk to the manager I let her know I had already handed her my 30 day notice and she could not find it.. after scattering around her desk she found it and said, “you’re lucky I found it”.. You need to understand that if management misplaced your paperwork it could really hurt you not them!! It may have been funny to her but it sure as heck wasn’t funny to me and I will never forget her unprofessional comment about it. I was just happy that she found my notice and went on my way. As I look at my billing statement while I’m writing this review that I received a year later after my move out by EMAIL, it shows I left this place with a ZERO balance as of 06/01/2017 my move out date 06/26/2017 .. somehow they managed to add on 331.63 of charges in the month of July for UTILITY charges for the months of May and June?? This is where I get mad. How the heck does this happen if I paid my FINAL rent in full in advance. I left this place with a credit and felt great about it not thinking I would owe another dime . Rent due= June 1st 2017 (already paid, statement confirms), my statemtent shows a credit as of June 1st 1,193.21 after rent and utilities June 3rd itemization shows zero balance!! Hallelujah done!! Right? Nooooo wrong!! These thieves added on 331.63 in the month of July 2017 let me repeat again... for utilitiy charges for May and June??!! Shouldn’t that have been on my May and June statement?! Their billing office is separate and the gentleman tried hard to explain the charges and was very kind and professional (he should be the one working in the actual office) but I am still completely confused and beyond frustrated with this place . When moving in at boulder canyon there was a couple arguing with the office about their move out charges.. I should have taken that as a warning to get out!!! My charges are literally for sewer, water, trash, gas, and electric. 40.00 for carpet clean I agree.. and and 80.00 to clean my vents, windows, and blinds seriously? I will pay what is owed but please take this from me. These apartments may look nice but turn around and look elsewhere.
Would not recommend this to anybody they make you pay a valet trash fee which means you put your trash can on the porch and someone comes by and grabs it, hardly ever happen so many times a week i would wake up for work the next day and guess what the trash still full from the night before... They also have a media package that is in the monthly rent not optional, you get to pay for decent cable and garbage internet that only works maybe 5 months out of your year lease. Also i have lived here for a year and management has changed 4 times in a year completely new staff it seems like every 3 months... And all the hidden fees those are wonderful they get you for every little thing out there one of those is gym lights youbget charged because they decide not to turn the gym lights off. And maintnece takes forever to come fix anything the oven broke i called that day told them about it, they said ok we will have it fixed by tomorrow, i guess to them tomorrow is 5 days down the road.. The only reason they get one star is because you cant use a half a star.. And that half a star would be for the pool and gym only..
I absolutely love this place!! I am NOT a first time renter, I have lived in a few other apartment complexes and Boulder canyon is by far the best place Ive lived. The management is extremely nice and the few times Ive needed maintenance to check out something, theyve been to my apartment in 2 hours tops! I also love that I didnt have to get the internet, phone and tv in my name. I pay one lump sum for 5 different services! Yes there are the occasional irresponsible dog owners who dont pick up after their pets and the dumpsters are filled to the brim BUT there are quite a few dumpsters in close proximity to each other and dog poop is easy to pick up. Even if it isnt my dogs! There are always going to be issues in a communal living environment, its up to you to decide if its a mole hill or a mountain!
Great place to live!!! Super pet friendly!!! Clean and the maintenance staff is amazing!!! The new fitness center is amazing and the pool/grill area is perfect!!!
I love the ladies! Staff is Fantasic. Super cute apartments.
I read terrible reviews before I moved in, but thought people were just exaggerating. I wish I would have listened. OVERPICED! It’s ridicouls to try to a call returned and if they do call you back expect them to hang-up on you mutilple times. Internet sucks. You pay $25 a month for someone to pick up your trash. The machines in the fitness center NEVER work and the bbqs never work. Dog poop is everywhere it’s impossible to let you kids play outside. When you move out make sure you take picuters of everything because they will replace things and charge you for normal wear and tear. You’ll also end up paying utilities twice because they switched companies in the middle of your lease. Oh, and trying to get ahold of Corporate is a nightmare. I’ve called 5 times and left messages.. I’m still waiting for a call backZ Learn from my experience and find a wear nicer apartment for the same price.
Due to medical reasons, I had to move out of the house Ive owned for over 22 years. My requirements were: to find a home with no stairs, an open layout, outside space with beautiful landscaping and a place which looked, NEW on the inside (w/o mold and mildew). I had been searching for Age: 55 yrs and older apt comminities, but felt caved in (Im very clausrophobic). I was also very happy to be moving in to a SMOKE-FREE Community. Yes, Boulder Canyon fit my requirements. My first impressions were of how nice it was when something went wrong in the apt (like toilet leaking, microwave fan breaking, needing the inside of my apt to be weatherized). Living in my house which I owned, where all things I previously had to pay for myself and /or hire someone else to do the work. Im enjoying having others take care of these issues. Yes, the response time doesnt always work with my schedule, but I work during the management teams working hours. Regular maintanence Saturday hours would be appreciated (other than emergencies) for those of us who work long hours and are away from our homes for 10-14 hrs a day.....What I do like is when there is an issue with the maintanence work done. If its not to my satisfaction, the maintanence supervisor, Jason, makes sure the work gets done accurately and expeditiously. The cuurent management team, especially Chris and Alex excel in customer service with their conflict resolution skills.Yes, its a challenge for me to move from a large home and an even bigger yard to an apt for my health reasons. If I would have to choose again to find a location where to move. I would choose Boulder Canyon.
