This was probably the worst pedicure I have ever had. I made an appointment for 6pm and still waited 15 minutes to be seated. I got a deluxe pedicure, but my technician barely scrubbed my feet, and didnt even attempt to massage them. She didnt push my cuticles back, and then proceeded to paint all over them. It looks like a five year old painted them. They also didnt dry by the time she shoved my shoes back on, so they have a few smudges. Definitely not worth $50.

Walked in for my pedi appt & immediately was given the hard sell by Dana to do shellac. Then to try the special Pedicure priced at $60. The pedicure treatment was indulgent and nice including the wax foot bags but the shellac peeled off easily in less than 1 week.

I had a lady that did a great job on my pedicure!

I went based off a friends recommendation as I’m in a wedding this weekend and loved her nail color. I also get married next month and wanted to see if this is where I should get my nails done then. After picking out the color for dip she did the whole process and said she was done when she never even used the color I picked out. She also brutally cut all of my cuticles. 7/10 fingers bled and 3 were still bleeding when I left. It’s been 4 days and all my nail beds are sensitive to touch. She started over and they turned out okay for the color but my cuticles and so ruined and in such pain I would never want someone to experience this. Have photos but it won’t let me add them

I liked the atmosphere; however, I was disappointed in the service. I got my nails done last week for my wedding. I had heard great things and figured why not try them. I was mistaken. I was first sat down the last barely said 2 words to me when putting the tips on. She messed up a couple of them, and even had a couple tilted up until I raised the finger to have he fix them. She then quickly told me to go over to another area at the front of the salon. I moved to where she told me. The person was super nice and asked me multiple time if I liked them. I had told them I wanted shellac multiple times, but they brought out the dip. I liked the color, so i just went with the dip. The rest of the visit was okay. But, i have since had 3 tips break off and only had the nails for a week. I have never had this issue with nails breaking off. I am so disappointed in the quality, especially when I paid $56 for them. I absolutely do not reccomend.

The service was super good at first, then a group came in and the rest of my pedicure was rushed I didn’t mind at first because I thought it looked good but I looked up close and nails were smudged, uneven, and needed many more coats. I came as a group and the rest of my groups looked really good though.

Helen was very sweet, professional, and KILLED IT on my nail shape! I’ve been looking for my new nail place and I’ve found just that!!

I am writing for my two friends who have been going to this shop for years. They recently went in and received a very bad nail job and when they asked for them to be redone; the nail tech ripped off both of their nail extensions and called them a “stupid sl*t” for not liking their nails. I thought everyone should know about this before coming into the shop.

Moved to the area and was extremely nervous about finding a new nail tech because I am particular. I was incredibly impressed and left happier than I have left after a nail service in years. Annie did a wonderful job on my coffin shaped dip nails. She took her time and was extremely detail oriented. My nails haven’t looked this beautiful and perfectly shaped in months. I have definitely found my new nail salon! Highly recommend, clean and very friendly 💖💖💖

They were the worst nail place I have ever been to. Some of my nails are square and some are round. They made all of my fingers bleed. My nails are also not the same lengths either. They told me to trust them because they would be perfect and they are far from it. I don’t suggest going to this place ever. If i could I wouldn’t give them any stars.

Today, March 1, 2019, I had my first visit to Mercedes Nails. It was the worst pedicure I have ever received. I believe because I was only having the basic $30 service, I was given the quickest pedicure of all time. 25 of minutes. She did not clip my cuticles and barely did any work on my nails at all. She also added something to my polish because apparently it was too thick. After review of my polish it is not to the end of the nail or to the cuticle. I could have done a better job myself. Will NEVER go back!

Love this place! Typically I schedule my appointments with Mercedie and she does a fabulous job and it is so fun catching up with her each time. Today I had a bit of a nail emergency and showed up without an appointment - Henry was able to fix my nails and make them look amazing. They both take their time and make sure I leave happy. Loved it! $40 for a deluxe pedicure with hot stones. Creams and scrubs were brought out in pretty dishes and utensils were in a sealed sanitation bag. That made me feel confident of the cleanliness. Water was nice and hot too for my cold achy feet.

They have customer service mastered and earn this rating! Mercedies and her team are professional, upbeat and always happy to see anyone that walks through the door. The quality of work is the best in the area. They are excellent with detail and timely! Word has spread that this place ranks top, its busy all the time.

I liked the atmosphere and it seemed clean but as soon as I didnt want to go an expensive route for acrylic nails it was like I wasnt as important anymore. I continuously had to tell them while using a grinder for the nails that they kept hitting my skin and had even broken my skin open in multiple spots. The lady that did my nails had cut open my skin with her own nails in some of the most sensitive areas and as soon as I told her she said Okay. They had a lack of detail when applying the actual acrylic, I had multiple specs of glitter and dust that were very prominent under the clear acrylic. I will not be returning.

Would NEVER recommend!!!! Made an appointment for three pedicures and they were not ready for us and there were not three chairs together. Then the Lady that greeted us at the door told us to go get her colors and she pointed to the back of the salon and a lady stopped us and told us we were going the wrong direction. So we left because they didn’t know what they were doing.

I’ve been meaning to come here since I moved to Des Moines because it’s so close to where I live. I finally made it in! Everyone was so friendly and the salon itself is clean and beautiful. So happy I finally went, I’ll definitely be coming back!

I had an appointment last night at Mercedies Nails for a full set manicure at 6:15. I showed up at 6:10 with my friend who was also getting a full set for her wedding (my nail appointment was also for her wedding). We were immediately seated without really being asked any questions besides color. No design questions, no shape questions, everything felt extremely rushed from the very beginning of out appointment, as if they werent really ready for us. They sat us down together at first, but then moved my friend across the salon as soon as her tips were glued on. The woman who had sat down to do my nails got to work screwing up my salon experience pretty quick by dropping one of the tips on the floor, and then proceeding to glue it to my pinky WITH HAIRS CLEARLY ALL OVER IT. The hairs were stuck in the glue that she already pressed to my nail, so when she tried to brush away the hairs that she so clearly saw, they didnt budge. She decided to just move on to my other nails instead of correcting her mistake. She ended up glueing on most of my tips crooked, and when I mentioned something to her that they WERE crooked, she ignored me and cut them down to length instead. It did not help the fact that the tips were still crooked. She then started grinding down my nails. Prepping them to be painted. Without asking what shape I wanted. They were this awful square shape, something I find to be a terrible look for me. It was at this point that I had to intervene and say hey, i want coffin shaped nails. She repeated my request in question form and then huffed at me as if I was the biggest inconvenience to her. She filed the tips down to the point where it hurt the skin around my natural nails, making me wince a little bit, but she just gripped my hands harder and continued to file away. The whole time she was filing, she seemed more interested in what her coworker was doing next to her, not paying any attention to how she was so hideously shaping; my nails are now lopsided, crooked, and sore. Some sides of my nails are straight, some curve around, and none of it matches or looks even remotely uniform. The only thing decent about my nails is the color, and thats because theyre black. Its pretty hard to screw up one color, but if anyone could do it, this woman could. She did, however, screw up the application of the dip powder. This was my first time getting dip, but Im 100% positive my nails are supposed to be smooth after they are done. It always has been when Ive seen it on my friends nails. My nails turned out bumpy, uneven and pockmarked. By the time she finished, I was ready to get the heck out of there! But I still had to pay. Whatever, I didnt plan on tipping the woman who barely spoke a word to me the whole time. Getting nails done is supposed to be a service of what the customer wants, not a you get what is given and youd better like it kind of service. Online, the price for a full set is $35. Other salons I have been to that have the same pricing and services, I pay $35 plus tax. This woman had the audacity the charge me $48.15, explaining that the extra fees were for the plastic tips she crookedly stuck to my nails. She didnt say anything about tips being extra before or during the process of glueing them down. If she had, I would have gone with something different. I paid the full amount, because 1. I had somewhere to be and 2. I just wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible. I originally chose Mercedies Nails because a very good coworker of mine had her nails done here and they turned out absolutely gorgeous. Even, uniform shape, beautiful color and finish, and she couldnt rave enough about the atmosphere and her nail tech. Even the reviews seemed great! Maybe it was just my nail tech, but I had an awful experience and I would not recommend anyone to this salon. My friends nails turned out great, she loves them and the shape is great. I will more than likely not be returning though, especially if I would have to deal with the same woman.

This woman is an artist! She is able to figure out your style and what looks good for you each time. Mercedie free hands most of the work ans is so creative. I always get compliments on my nails.

The only nail salon Ive been too who didnt judge me on being shaky. They were good priced and did an amazing job!

Helen at Mercedies Nails was lovely to work with. She created a custom look based on the combination of several inspiration photos that I had brought in. She was very kind, and my nails (fingers & toes) look fantastic! I would be happy to drive from Ankeny to visit her in the future.

In town for the weekend and this place was amazing! I called ahead to make sure they had an opening. Everyone was so nice and accomdating. Very clean and friendly place. Highly recommend I will be back next time Im in town.

I just got my nails done and I got the dip powder. The lady literally filed and clipped my skin off to the point my fingers were bleeding and now they are painful. My nails/fingers look awful. Will not be going back! Definitely not worth the $100.

Took my daughter here for her 4th birthday and everyone was so sweet!!! They pampered her and she had so much fun! Both of our nails turned out great! Love this place!!

I had a horrible, painful experience. When I made the appointment I asked if they did nail design/nail art, they said they did. I walk in with a pic of what I want on my cell. Then after adding the acrylic nails and the first layer of paint, the lady tells me that the design won’t be exactly like the picture. What a thing to drop in the middle of the appointment when I’m basically at her mercy. When I ask her what she means by that, she just looks down and mumbles. Furthermore, she TORE UP my cuticles, 2 fingers are bleeding a little bit. I’m so disappointed. I’d suggest everyone STAY AWAY!!!!

I stopped in two days after my full set was put on to get a broke tip fixed, I sat and watched 3 people that entered after me get service first .. I walked out. My daughter & her three friends made appointments for pedis and full sets to get ready for prom. There pedicures ended up just being there toe nails painted (no water no scrubbing.... nothing) and they did a awful job painting them and then when it came to a full set they turned out crooked & blemished.... those 2 services cost them $80 a piece..... a rip off.

My nail tech was inexperienced, the quality of my $30 gel manicure is sub par at best. The salon is well maintained and appeared to have a solid clientele base, it was unfortunate as all the google reviews seem to be praising high quality and I was the one to get a poor outcome.

Today was my first time at Mercedes Nails. The automsphere is very chic and girly and most importantly clean. I did the standard pedicure which is competitively price at $30. They did a nice salt scrub along with the pumice stone and nail shaping. They used bath and body Works lotion which I greatly enjoy over that purple lotion everywhere else uses. The staff was friendly and I plan to return.

Small and expensive!! 70 dollars for a pedi thats pretty extreme but its WDSM so i guess your paying for the title you go to WDSM for your nail care. Other than that nothing different than any other small nail shop

They can’t give you the shape you want. And they don’t let you wash your hands after filing down all of the nail dusk. They actually dusk it off and put lotion on top of it.
