I love this place, treat yourself to full service, do your nails and toes while sipping on wine or non-alcohol beverages. The technicians are nice ladies. I go there once a month or on special occasions.

Just had my first appointment at Fancy Nails & it was FABULOUS! Seng did both my dip manicure and my shellac pedicure. She was kind, attentive and genuinely interested in learning about me, my personal mani & pedi preferences including water temperature, my favorite scents, massage pressure, favorite colors and how she could ensure that my visit was enjoyable.It was such a welcome surprise to be in a nail salon where all of the employees were interested in conversing with the clients and guests in their salon instead of choosing to converse with only their fellow employees in their native, primary language. I was a very loyal client for 5+ years at my prior salon of choice and today as I sat in the chair at Fancy’s it hit me that it was the first time in years that I didn’t feel as if I was nothing but an awkward observer. Every employee at Fancy’s was friendly & attentive and they genuinely cared that every guest left the salon as a happy and very satisfied customer.I’m not sure if Sone (pronounced Sunny) was the owner and/or the manager or both? Nonetheless she was extremely helpful in explaining all of the services they offered and she made a point to personally thank me for trying their salon and for being a new customer!It’s always nice to find a new small business where employees share a genuine concern and appreciation for their customers & clients leave knowing they are valued. I’m happy to support Fancy Nails and I look forward to being a long time client. We had made an appointment at Oscar Nail bar in West Des Moines 5 months ago for a bridal party. After having a HORRIBLE experience there where we sat almost an hour ignored, I was a desperate bride and remembered my great experience at Fancy nails. I called them, and even though they closed in 40 minutes they said they would stay HOURS late to make sure the entire wedding party was taken care of. They did a beautiful job with our nails, made sure we were well taken care of!!! I will never go anywhere else for nails. They provided exceptional customer service, best place in West Des Moines!!!

I’ve been here a couple times and every time they are very polite and very professional. The owner made me feel very welcome, even though I was a walk-in. Because of this I will certainly continue to go back . All of the people who have done my services have always been polite helpful and friendly. I highly recommend this place. I saw they just got new massage chairs. I’m looking forward to checking those out. 👍

I can not say enough great things about Fancy nails. We had booked appts at Oscar nail Bar on 8/18/21 for a wedding party and confirmed 2x after booking, we were ignored for 45 mins and ended up calling Fancy Nails and they got us in even though they were closing in 30 mins. They were our Heroes!! I know that seems crazy to use that word, but this is a bridal party we had no other night to do this before the wedding Friday! Not only did these woman get us in they did it with a smile on their face and they did great work!

I called about 6:30 to see if they were busy and could do a mani/pedi for me. The guy (assuming owner) said no problem! When I was about 10-15mins away from my nails being all done, the nail technician mentioned they closed at 7 (not at all in a mean way, had just come up in normal conversation). I immediately started apologizing over and over again because I had gone off the hours online. He said they had to change some things because of Covid (down sizing their chairs and changing their closing to 7pm) and just hadn’t had a chance to update it online. They were all SO nice, and I just couldn’t believe they stayed open to accommodate me. I will 1000% be back because of their customer service and the great job they did!

I love this place. They are so friendly and help you to find the best fit for your active life. They are fair on prices as well. I would tell anyone to try them today.

I love it here! They do amazing work! When I mean amazing, I mean AMAZING!!! They are all nice and fun workers! It’s relaxing getting a pedicure here! You all should come check this place out! It’s clean, very laid back, professional, on time, good quality and good value! The new owner is very nice! His girlfriend does amazing designs. They want their clients to be happy and will work with you if you have a valid issue. Their pricing is fair, facility clean and their employees are great!!!

I have been coming to Fancy nails under new management since Sept 2019. We are treated well. They are friendly and do an awesome job. They are always willing to try new designs. It is the only place i will do nails. We have four generations in my family who come here.

Bought a gift certificate as a gift for my fiancé she really enjoyed it, said they were very nice, it was a clean establishment, and they got to her quickly. Her nails looked great that night at dinner, and I caught her a few times checking them out. I would highly recommend this with Valentine’s Day coming up, this is a great option for guys out there to have a can’t miss gift.

They did an amazing job on my nails. So I got an unique French tip nail and they are why longer then the normal ones. But they did so good and it was my first time there plus when I go to other nail salons they always cut my cuticles and it would bleed but this one they took there time and they made me feel important. I’m definitely going back.

Great service, great atmosphere! So much more than just a nail salon. The pedicure foot message is long and relaxing. Lisa is very sweet, and always takes her time. I had my first dip manicure today and it is so beautiful.

Went in for a pedi and it was amazingly relaxing. Salon is under new ownership and is very clean. Service was excellent and staff was very friendly. Will definitely go back.

They were very friendly, greeted me immediately, and helped my determine what I actually wanted because I didn’t know what it was called. I did talk to them about how I was worried about finding a salon in the Des Moines area because of reviews I saw from Ankeny. They mentioned they recently took over this salon and are trying to get past the bad reviews from the previous ownership.

I go to Fancy Nails every 2 weeks for a pedicure and I am always happy with the service. The massage chairs are clean and comfortable. The leg and foot massage is long and relaxing. The owners are kind, caring, and upbeat. Ive never had a bad experience, besides the few times Ive had to listen to rude, entitled West Des Moines women treat the workers like garbage.

I got a pedicure and it was the worst pedicure of my life. She didn’t paint to my cuticles, the paint job was not smooth you can see bumps and they got nail polish on my Birkenstock’s. They didn’t get dead skin off my heels they exfoliated my feet for about 10 sec each. My boyfriend did a better job painting my toes.

Lisa convinced me to get ombré glitter dip powder and I’m so glad she did, I’ve never gotten so many compliments on my nails. They are so quick but it still feels like they take their time. Very sanitary and beautifully decorated!

I love visiting this salon! The employees make you feel welcomed and theyre always willing to work you in and do a great job! Great price and quality of service!

Got a full set done and they look so bad. My full nails aren’t painted and I told her places to touch up because there wasn’t polish and she refused. Then she rushed me out of the store before my nails were done drying. And she wouldn’t allow me to get what I wanted to do (Alomond shape), so she insisted I change it before she would do anything. Definitely wouldn’t recommend this place to anybody. And I never review any place so that says a lot.

Theyre really rough. The lady doing my nails made two fingers bleed. I asked for a Christmas tree design... And it doesnt really look like a tree. More like a whimsical bright green blob.Anyway, wont be coming back.

I went in for a full mani/pedi. My pedicure looks great & it was a great experience. BUT...when I sat down for my manicure, he cut my nails off. Since there was a huge language barrier, I thought that he did so in order to put on new tips. Nope. He started painting my (lack of) nails. I asked him to put on tips, in which he stated it was too late & continued painting. I said something to the manager, in which she said that I had to use the specific words, full set or they would just paint my nubs. Then she charged me $40 to paint my nubs that look horrible. Will not be going back!

Worst gel manicure in town!!! Chipped after 3 days!!!! I have never had a gel manicure hurt or feel tight before. The light hurt and the nails shrunk afterwards. I expressed my concern to the man who did them and all he kept saying is normal. There was a huge language barrier, to the point where he could not answer questions about his service. When the pain tight feeling went away after a few days, the polish started chipping. I have never had a gel manicure chip before from any other salons in town - especially only after 3 days!!!!

Lilly is always the excellent nail tech I have had before.

Horrible service. Horrible pedicure. They literally hurt me by being overly aggressive (and I’m not a wimp) and punctured my skin on my toe with their nail. Owner/manager was not pleasant. I will NOT ever go back

1 star is almost saying too much! This place is disgusting! The chairs and floors around them are filthy! They didnt give any options on what type of pedicure I wanted. And the order of events, left my legs wet and all the lotion had been wiped off
