This is the worst hair service I have ever received. I emailed them letting them know how unhappy I was with their service (asking for a refund) and how much I had to pay to get it fixed and they did not respond.Update: someone commented saying they do not see my appointment but the owner emailed me acknowledging my poor service

Cyrille styled my hair for a wedding, and he was wonderful. He is very intuitive. After telling him a little about myself (and after he saw all of my tattoos), he came up with this beautiful, relaxed, sophisticated hairstyle. My hair not only looked great but Cyrille really paid attention to how the style worked with the details of the dress and my tattoos. My hair felt light, and the styling was very comfortable all through the evening!

Cyrille has cut my hair for years, and now I’m so pleased he’s taken a chair with Salon ILO, just steps from Patisserie Poupon in Georgetown. I’m not sure how he does it, but I can go two months between cuts and my hair still looks great, lasting twice as long as places down the street. Friendly staff, easy appointment bookings, perfect in every way.

Worth the money! I had Michelle, who was so warm and likable, but most importantly knew so much about hair. She really tailors the approach to what your hair specifically needs, and gives you honest recommendations as to what choices are best for your hair, and worth the money (or not). Salon Ilo has taken CDC guidelines on COVID-19 seriously; customers are well space, there is excellent air flow, and surfaces are cleaned after each customer.Regarding the hair services, Michelle is an incredible colorist and works had to match your color to your natural complexion, so she will work with you till you like the outcome. I have followed her for over 10 years and won’t go to anyone else.

I’m so glad I returned to Salon ILO for my first pandemic visit. I always, always go to Evelyn for waxing and manicures! Her eyebrow work keeps me looking stylish and professional and her body waxing keeps me beach-ready!I am sooo impressed by the protocols and cleanliness at Salon ILO. Everything is airy and clean. They take your temperature and there is plexiglas in appropriate places. Hand sanitizer is available and there is antibacterial soap in the restroom. Everyone wears a mask and I noticed as I walked by that there is appropriate spacing between the hair clients. Salon ILO has always had multiple floors and multiple single bathrooms and that comes in handy now with social distancing. I felt safe and taken care of at Salon ILO, as always!

I had my first visit with Adam today and wow! He was super professional, laser focused. The best hair cut I’ve ever had. The person who washed my hair was gentle, careful, and attentive. When Cyrille cuts & styles my hair, he is always meticulous. He cares about his work & takes whatever time is needed. I like his quiet manner with a great eye for detail.Cynthia is amazing - she is smart, patient & thorough with her manicures, pedicures & waxing. She is the only nail professional I have encountered who knows that curving the sides of toe nails can result in ingrown nails. Currently I have issues with my sciatic nerve - she has been very understanding & patient in assuring my comfort. Everyone in the salon has been pleasant & welcoming - & very diligent about Pandemic recommendations & requirements.

Love Cyrille! The absolute best haircut EVER! The day of the cut I had people stop me in the street and ask me who did my hair! Yipes! Ive never had that happen before. Salon has good social distance spacing and universal effective masking for everyone (no one had a mask hanging below their nose). I liked the seamless checkout but a bit clunky the first time I used it for tipping. People are friendly and very classy vibe. Will be returning!

Love coming to Ilo every single time. They have always been so clean, not just during times of covid. Michelle is amazing at balayage and colors and cuts my friends hair every time. I have been going to Kim for years for my color and I give her some freedom to do what she thinks is best for my hair and it gets better every time. Michelle cuts my hair for me and I have never before had a cut AND style that I’ve enjoyed so much.I also have Evelyn wax my eyebrows and they turn our great every time. She never makes my eyebrows smaller (big brow girl) and she only ever enhances their shape. Everyone leaves the salon looking great but that is just my review of who does my services.

This salon allowed me to make an appointment the same day. They are very clean and follow strict COVID guidelines with social distancing, sanitation and temperature check. Michelle gave me a perfect haircut. She is lovely and I will definitely be back to see her.

My experience with Cyrille was great. Hes European trained and an excellent stylist. It was difficult, however, to communicate--both wearing masks. May I suggest turning down the volume of the overhead music so stylists and clients can hear each other.

Salon Ilo has upgraded the safety features due to the corona virus. I have been back twice and each time felt completely safe; Everyone is spaced apart at least 6 feet and everyone wears masks and all the surfaces are sanitized between each client. I would not hesitate to go back. Take your mask.

When I first found Salon ILO about ten years ago, I knew that my search for the ideal hair salon was finally over. Everything there is done perfectly. Everyone on the staff, including those at the front desk, is superbly trained, friendly, and makes sure the client is happy. I always feel well taken care of, and I always leave the salon feeling thrilled about the great job they do with my hair. On a scale of one to ten, ILO gets a ten!

I enjoy going to Salon Ilo. From the moment you are greeted by the women at the desk, who take your temperature from around the plexiglass screen and hand you a bag with the gown to change into or put over your clothes you feel well cared for. There is plenty of space between chairs and everyone is wearing masks. Terry cuts my hair and he is always warm, pleasant and professional. He listens to my concerns and gives me a great hair cut.

I have been a client for about ten years. Yesterday was the first time Shaun cut my hair, but it was certainly up to the high standards of Gary. I couldn’t have been more pleased.

ILO is a lovely professionally run salon with the highest quality stylists. Sometimes my daughter and I use different people and we are never disappointed. Today she had a fabulous haircut, adding layers and reducing the length, with Adam and she loves it!!

She is such a expert hair stylist (amazing with all types of color) who knows what she is doing without hesitation and a genuinely wonderful human being. She is my hair fairy god-mother. She is patient and understanding with people like me that are not used to change. I cannot thank her enough for always making my hair look the best!

I go to Kim for my color and Robert for my cuts. Robert does an amazing job cutting my hair. He really makes an effort to understand what Im looking for, and Im always happy with the end result. This last time around, he also did my color. It turned out fantastic. Again, he took his time to really understand what I was looking to do.Kim has also done a great job with my color in the past. The only reason why I didnt go to her the last time was because she wasnt available.

Salon email was my go to place for many years. But the salon declined. In addition, it lost many of its best professionals. I wish them success but I will not be returning.

I just moved to DC and desperately needed a haircut so I went to this salon based on reviews. The staff are great and friendly! I have a 3month old and when we had to stop the cutting so I can nurse, everyone was so helpful and kind. Robert is an amazing stylist! He took the time to discuss with me what kind of haircut I would like and advised me of various options. I love my haircut. Robert did an incredible job! I have thick, frizzy curly hair and he did a great cut. I will definitely be going back.

This salon is on top of the most recent hair styles and their stylists and colorists are excellent. I feel very comfortable and relaxed there. I highly recommend this salon.

Ive been going to Ilo forever, and I keep going back because its so good. I saw a new colorist, Kim, on Wednesday & my highlights are gorgeous. Hey, my hair used to BE this color! Again, I saw Laurent for my haircut & finish. He is a pro: you need to look professional? Hes got you. You want to look sexy? No problem. You want to be able to shift between the two? Hell show you how to style, so you can achieve the look at home. Your hair will look great, every time.

I love Ilo for the fact they saved my damaged hair. Sal and Marcella did a fabulous job and I continue to have them as my hairdressers. They know their jobs and can tell they love their jobs. They do a fabulous job on taking care of me I dont want to lose them. The salon is clean and refreshing and all the people are great and friendly. Please try an experience - you may find that you love the place too.

My hair was completely transformed for the better by Jen Bradford!! Best balayage and haircut I’ve ever gotten. All while in a great atmosphere with great staff! 10/10 would recommend!

For the last 2 years Ive been looking for someone that can not only understand my hair but knows what to do with it without direction. I like surprises! Good surprises! Thats why I pay the expert, not to do what I my limited experience requests. Then.....a friend recommended I went to see Marcella. A Christmas gift. I could not say no. And Im so happy she did. Ive found my new hair stylist! Please dont retire for another 20 years.

This cut is the worst haircut of my life, the only other time I had a so much bad cut was 10 years ago in another country! And I even didn’t ask for something complicated: I just asked the hairdresser to shorten my previous cut, which was very trendy and that suited my face very well. But he ruined my cut in a few scissors movements. This proves that the difference between a good hairdresser and a mediocre one is a few well-done scissors movements. I will never return to this salon and I strongly recommend to everyone to avoid them.

Okay - I hate to admit this, but I have been going to ILO since 1986! The designers, spa, EVERYTHING about ILO is all about pleasing their clients. You can tell that the two owners treat their folks properly as they have all been there as long as I have been going - we have sort of grown up together.They are always training on new styles and techniques so as to keep their client up to date in style and on top of both classic and trendy styles - dependent upon your wants! Absolutely cannot say anything other than I would NEVER go anywhere else - they are truly the best!!!!!

Get a haircut with Adam. Hes the best - you will not regret it!Adding to this review - I just had my color done with Robert. He did an excellent job. I came in sweaty after doing a marathon training run (which was honestly very gross) and he barely batted an eye. He listened to what I was looking for and my hair turned out great! And Adam is still the best.

As someone who has tried many different salons in the area, I am so pleased with Ilo and the service they provide. Kim does an excellent job with my color and is so good at achieving exactly what I envision. Kristjun has the most precise method of cutting hair and I always feel fantastic after I have a cut with him. They are both patient and great listeners, and always make my experience at the salon top notch! The front desk staff is also very helpful with scheduling and really go out of their way to help if you need to make a last minute appointment or change. They are great about calling if youve asked to be on the cancellation list for those last minute needs. The other support staff are also very friendly and hospitable.

Kim Lawson deserves all 5 stars; she is professional, detail oriented, and exceptionally talented with color. Even strangers ask me where I get my hair done! Terry and Gary have been taking care of my hair since 1989. I moved many years ago so it now takes an hour drive to get there so I havent been a frequent customer. But, when I need a fab cut, I will make the trip. I have also taken my mother and 3 daughters every time they need a stunning hair cut. We love Ilo.

Robert was absolutely wonderful on my and my wifes first visit. He took time to understand what we wanted, and also give his advice on styling. In the end we were very happy with the results!

The first time I went to ILO I was 15 years old, I am now 40 something and I have always been thrilled with my experiences there. Gary and Terry are always there to provide a warm welcome and Darin does an amazing job on my hair. I cant tell you how many people ask me where I go so they can book an appointment. He has also changed my life with the straightening processes, I never have a bad hair day anymore, amazing for anyone with crazy frizz. I only wish there were 10 stars!!

My longtime ILO stylist has moved out of DC so I have been seeing Adam for my cut and Troy for my color and in true ILO fashion, they are both amazing. Adam cuts with such precision and really understands how my hair moves. This is such a great haircut, I am getting compliments all the time which is kind of wonderful!
