Best gym ever. If you are reading this, you need to join.Dont want to workout in a cookie cutter gym? This is the place.Dont want to pay a personal trainer a small ransom? This is the place.True180 has small group training sessions (basically personal training), classes, and open gym times. You choose your adventure. Be your own Dora the Explorer.Also, this gym is a community. There are women and men, young and old, fitness fanatics and those just starting their fitness journey. Its a cool mix of supportive and upbeat people.

Love this gym. Its a regular joes gym for people who are serious about getting personalized training. T180 has a real family vibe and the trainers will work with you on your goals. I joined in 2015 (I think) with nagging injuries that they helped me work through and last year they prepped me to fun my first marathon completely injury-free. Solid advice on fitness focused nutrition too.

Oined this gym 3 years ago and cant live without it now. In addition to the workouts, the people (coaches and members) are amazing. Everyone encourages each other and I think all decades from teen to 70s are represented here.

The Body You Want is an absolutely awesome gym. I have worked closely with Josef and Matt, and they have both taught me so much about how to build strength and burn fat. I had previously lost 80 lbs on my own, and they helped me to transform my body even further, and taught me things about nutrition and fitness that I didnt know (and I thought I knew a lot!) The trainers really really care about your health and well-being, unlike my experience at bigger gyms or even more corporate studios in the DC area. What I really liked was the fact that everyone at this gym was different - different ages and levels of fitness, and everyone had their own custom plan. The extra support and training is totally worth it, and the entire staff is always willing to answer questions and help you get to your personal best. This is the best gym I have ever found. The trainers are committed to their clients. The clients are supportive of each other and motivate each other to reach their own fitness goals. I have been a member for over 7 years and still get to the gym 4-5 days a week because I love the place, the trainers and the clients!

Superb, one-on-one coaching. No gimmicks. Just a good understanding of and knowledge about developing core strength and flexibility. Its also fun! Ive been to a lot of gyms and this is the best to date.

Best gym in Washington DC. Where do I start ? Okay, this gym will change your life and your perspective on working out. I have cp which is a disability that is different for every person that has it. For me, it’s left me wheelchair bound. That being said, Matt still was willing to work with me and accommodate my needs. He tailors my works out to my abilities and is committed to getting me strong and healthy. Matt, I can’t thank you enough! If you’re looking for a judge free environment that makes exercising fun and eating healthy sound good... this is the place for you !!!

Love this place! It is an environment where the staff are helpful, kind, and motivated in helping you reach your goals. Other members are very supportive, friendly, and excited to be there, making it a conducive place to stay motivated and work together.

I love TBYW! I have been a member for a year and a half now and I can truly say that I still love coming here. The staff is amazing, support, and non-judgmental. After suffering from pain and limited mobility, I saw results almost immediately after joining. Over a year later, I am pain free, more flexible, and stronger than I have ever been. Cannot recommend this gym enough.

Scott - It has been fantastic working with Josef, Michelle and Natillie at TheBodyYouWant. They are definitely the best Washington, DC personal trainers I have worked with. I have felt better, looked better, and have gotten in much better shape over the last few months. I have lost inches off of my waist and have gained muscle as a result of their efforts. The classes are also great; they have motivated me to reach my fitness goals!

I contacted The Body You Want when I found out I would be in Georgetown for 3 weeks on business. I was looking for a place to workout but I got so much more! The classes were amazing but it was the individualized sessions with Michelle where I learned so very much. I learned how my body was not functioning well and corrective exercises to help. Everything I tried was met with encouragement and an occasional challenge. I have taken away so much from my 3 weeks!

I have been working with TBYW personal trainers (Josef, Michelle, Natillie and Matt) for almost a year now. As an avid runner, I initially joined to further my racing goals. While I have become a stronger and less injury prone runner (lots of PRs to boot!), I’ve also broadened the scope of my fitness activities, which is a lifesaver when you can’t run for one reason or another (injury, etc.). Most recently, pregnancy curtailed some running aspirations; Joseph eagerly catered my program to this new phase, ensuring I stay strong and healthy while having to cut down on the mileage.Going to TBYW isn’t a “chore”. My workout changes about every six weeks, which means I never get bored, and the progression of exercises makes it clear I’m getting stronger week by week. Everyone is really friendly and there’s a strong sense of comradery among the members and trainers. My husband, who isnt consistently “active”, recently joined and never complains about going to the gym! We go 2-3 times a week and he’s already trimmed a few inches off his waist. We’re both very happy with our decision to join and so long as were in the Washington DC area, will be long-time TBYW members.

I was on a work assignment in Washington, DC for three months and since I was already pushing the envelope on my current clothing size I knew I was going to have to do something to offset the temporary assignment living-in-a-hotel lifestyle. (If youve never done it, I assure you it is an extremely overserved and underactive existence). I was in the position where I was going to have the extra time and money for a personal trainer, so I punched in Washington, DC personal trainer in my Google machine and went from there. I pursued The Body You Want completely sight unseen, mostly because I got a good vibe from the website and I read the positive reviews. I was also impressed that they responded so quickly to my online interest contact and that the response was not an immediate hard sell attempt that blew up my phone as soon as I said I was interested. They (Natillie) emailed me back and set something up to come in and check it out. Anyway, it was easily the best decision I made for myself and I cant believe I cyber-stumbled into such a great experience. Now that Im back home trying to duplicate that personal training relationship and cost, Im finding The Body You Want to be even that much more amazing.I could go on for hours about what I liked, but the atmosphere is probably the best thing. It is casual and unpretentious, and incredibly supportive and personal. I saw the very fit folks that are clearly the long term devotees or athletes, other newbies like me who were just starting out and awkward, and everything in between. Everyone fits in. I was a huge fan of the fat-burning metabolic classes they offered in addition to the personal training. I tried to go at least every Saturday and in doing that I would get to see a lot of the same people, watching them getting smaller and smaller. Another big plus was the holistic approach to fitness and the fact that they infused reality checks in all of their guidance. They will also regularly measure you to keep an honest assessment of your progress and change up what you need regularly. Note I said measure, not weigh. Theres a scale there if you personally want to use that metric but its not driver of your program. Along those lines, they run all of these side challenges to keep you motivated. For example, everyone brings in their skinny jeans and gets a pic taken of them not fitting. Check your jeans in with the TBYW crew and check them out at the end of the contest period, when they fit! So cool.When my 3 months was up and I had to go home, I was genuinely sad to leave TBYW but the motivation they gave me carried over and Ive been shopping locally for a similar program. I found a trainer that I like but I cant say Im in the same family environment. Plus none of the places Ive looked into back home include their metabolic classes as part of the program. Huge bummer. Now I pay per class and theyre not as fun or interactive as the ones at TBYW. Also, at TBYW they not only allow you to use their gym to do your workout on your own during open gym hours, they actually encourage it. I have gotten a few quizzical looks back home when asking if open gym hours were offered or could I enter the personal training facility to do the workout on my own once per week, and with a trainer the other time. Um, no was the answer. And note that “on your own is a loose term at TBYW. They seriously have eyes in the back of their heads there and are still coaching you even when youre not in a personal session.I seriously cant say enough good things about this place, so if youre thinking about it just contact them.
